Description
Two years later
Hearing the crunching of the gravel road, she took rather turtle-speed steps as she watched the mound get bigger in view. It was her first time visiting, and she was scared that Jiyong would be mad that she hasn't come to see him. But she couldn't see him. She couldn't also bring herself to come as he went in the ground that day, for it would kill her to see the heaven seperate them.
and just like any love, it was unnexpected for she fell in love with him, and he fell in love with her.
She reached the mound and slowly went on her knees as if someone was pulling her down. Placing the bouquet on the dirt lump, she touched the cold granite tombstone, carefully tracing his engraved name. Chills went down her spine, and she shuddered a bit, pulling her coat closer to her body. She smiled a bit as she felt the warm sunrays hitting her back and closed her eyes. In the back of her mind, she had a feeling that he saw her shudder and decided to warm her up. Of course, in her heart, she knew that he will always watch over her, since he said if anything was to happen, he'd be her guardian angel.
Her eyes averted downward from his name to a particular line.
"Even though I left you, remember the memories as my place in the world. Maybe we weren't meant to be now, but in the next life, I'll make sure we'll be together, Bom. forever."
She smiled as tears clouded her eyes. Closing her eyes slowly, she felt someone behind her hugging her tight, nuzzling their head in the crook of her shoulder. Not wanting to go back to the lonely reality, she took in a deep breath and opened her eyes as she turned around, hoping he was behind her. Her smile tugged into a sad frown when she saw no one behind her. Sighing softly, she turned back at the tombstone and touched it one last time. "Was that you, Jiyong?" She heard a soft chuckle as the breeze passed her and a smile formed again. She looked back at the flowers and adjusted it upwards.
Her mind controlled her legs, causing her to stand up, but her heart kept trying to get her to stay. She didn't want to leave him, but knowing that she had to go, a single tear escaped her eye.
"I'll be back, Ji." She whispered and turned around, walking away. Closing her eyes and taking in a big gulp of air, she opened her eyes again and continued to walk away.
"I'll be waiting, Bommie." A voice whispered in her ear and she felt a warm hug from behind. She stopped walking, and turned around. Nodding to his grave, she began walking back to her car.
