Wind beneath my wings
Kris sighs. As he stands at the top of the roof, he fiddles with the paper in his hands.
He was supposed to be making a paper airplane.
Key phrase: supposed to be.
His large hands seem to have a different agenda and refuse to cooperate, with Kris as well as the piece of dead tree.
Another exasperated sigh escapes Kris’s lips and it melts into the wind that teases his hair, pushing it back from his sharp features. All of his other band members are taking full advantage of their rare break by frolicking on their own adventures.
Suddenly the door to the stairway opens.
Kris glances up to see Sehun wandering over to him with his usual deadpan expression. The older raises a fine eyebrow.
It was a well-established fact that wherever Luhan was, Sehun was never too far away, either attached to his hyung in some form or another, glaring holes into anyone who got too close to his beloved Lulu.
Usually, during, free times like this, they are often the first ones out of the building to get bubble tea.
Except it seems that the law has broken today.
Seeing them apart is really quite strange, but Kris doesn’t ask. Partly because he really didn’t care, but mostly because he doesn’t think he’d get an answer anyway since Sehun’s never really talked to him before. So, he just turns back to the crumpled sheet in his hands.
One could be radical and say that it looked like a plane. With a halfhearted toss, the folded page makes a clean loop in the air and lands at Sehun’s feet with a small sst! as it drags across the ground.
Kris watches as the maknae bends over to pick it up. Examining it, Sehun uses his long fingers to adjust the wings before handing it back to Kris without a change in expression.
Understanding the wordless command, Kris tosses it again. He isn’t sure what he had been expecting but his eyes widen in surprise as the airplane catches the wind and glides gracefully in the air.
For a moment, Kris would’ve believed it had become a bird.
“How did you do that?” Kris asks, turning to look at the other.
Shrugging, Sehun replies, “I had to pass boring classes somehow.”
Kris can’t hold back the laugh that bubbles up in his chest. A ghost of a grin flashes across the younger’s lips in response.
One could be radical and say that it is progress.
You are the wind beneath my wings…
Always supporting me and helping me fly…
