Foreword
Traveling back and forth; basically commuting from a prestigious art school in the city to a suburb home five days a week was a formidable task for anyone. It was bound to take a toll on you.
But Jongin, the pretty boy next door, should know this far better than his peers in his neighbourhood and how a feat it could be to anyone. To him it served to be his alone time when time to think even in the midst of the hustle and bustle. But do you really think he had a choice; in this case with no other means of transportation? An exceptional major in performing arts, he was always on top of his class with the whole school addressing him as a prodigy in dancing. Sure he attended ballet lessons with a renowned local dance instructor when he was barely even ten and even jammed underground just to test his moves along with some jazz steps up his sleeves but you can't polish skills if it didn't start of naturally did you? And to add to his extraordinary talent, he had everything else – looks and the demenour so easy-going that everyone ended up adoring him. Though he never reakky basked in the popularity; in fact it didn’t even sink into him.
A school heart-throb, he had been the likings of pretty much everyone but unlike the other kids he didn’t look much interested. Like who could have guessed that this kid was actually deep inside, gay? Not his biological brother Joonmyun, not his deceased parents, not anyone really and definitely not even his best buds. He who had countless billet-doux from girls and males alike turned out to be ultimately homoual and being a quiet guy he was, nobody could really tell that he was. Well he wasn't keen on breaking the news too so nobody should nose into this anyway. To be frank, being gay was the hardest thing for him; he was constantly be depressed when someone brought up the matter. Maybe he can pretend he wasn't bugged about his uality or he should dance the frustration and anxiety off, venting it all in his three minute piece award-winning choreography like he always did to ease the struggle he relentlessly felt for being different – for being gay. And he wasn't lying if he didn't really venture off to find more about people like him. He was hot and dangerously curious for crying out loud! Little that he knew, that eventually, happiness would ensue on him, even when one is out of the norm.
*********
He lived the entire night in a booming club, shimmering like a star he was, for the fame and applause for every single night of his life. Single and practically successful for a 19 year old, there’s nothing he would want to add in his life – nothing except for a guy.
Possessing the very voice you would want hear every single day, like a drug his voice was, he was always on a stage like he star, singing his heart out every weekends or any day he needed to fill in for his colleagues. That was his job. And though there the perks weighed in the shortcomings of working underage, he couldn’t pass on the offer. Like how could he, since the pay was really great and his boss, the Chinese sweathear was the best boss ever. Yixing was every bit of an understanding person to his predicament; he was always nice and gorgeous to say the very least - so and so he just had to take the job in more hopes of catching Yixing’s eyes rather than the job itself. Aside from being what he was in the night, he was actually a cook-to-be by day, sharpening his already immense culinary skills at a school he attended. Truthfully, not being brought into this world with a silver spoon made everything hard for him and he sought salvation for his financial crisis. Kyungsoo would even trade his ultimate possession - his untouched, barely sinned body and ity - to be here forever with the boy of his dreams. And he was so sure that Yixing was the one, oh yeah, the gay club owner – not that it would make any difference wouldn't it?
Truthfully, Kyungsoo himself did acknowledge the ugly truth (nowhere near 'ugly' actually) that he was, indeed, endowed with superhuman beauty that anyone would question his identity as that being of a boy for he was too pretty to be a Y-chromosomal holder. And that was considered as an edge since he could dress up and sing in a key that Miss Carey could, making him ( considerably her ) a favourite among the regulars of the bar and secretly Yixing's too. He wished he can stay with him but having to take the train in the subway after he performed everyday was a bummer and he can't wait to be close enough with Yixing so that he can share an apartment with him someday. And something in his gut saying that maybe, oh just maybe, Yixing was the one.
If you think about it, life is like a subway. You can choose the destination but you’ll never know if you can reach there in time.
"Life's funny. It throws you much sadness and gives you the best happiness when you're ready to give it up. To be quite honest, I don’t even know what to expect anymore. Not when I don’t have you here,"
"I didn't know what to do at first but tables turn and the next thing I know I'm safe and sound around the people that I love. I thought I wouldn’t ever be happy. But hey, that's life for ya!"
"Fate can take away everything but it can't take away the love people have for one another. I don't know about you but I'm glad it happened. Wouldn't make any difference if things didn't turn like it this. Just never think otherwise of what life would be if it isn't what it is now."
"If you know what's planned for you, you wouldn't be here where you are now. Heck you wouldn't even talk to me, know me in fact if it wasn't for what is planned. Life works like that."
