THE LONELY VICTORY

POEMS BY BUTTERFLY555

Let the sun rise and the moon fall.

Dawn approaches on the last day.

Get Ready, it's almost over; no more read clouds in the sky.

One step at a time as mud thickens beneath your boots.

Hide. Wait, Stay silent.

It happends before anyone blinks.

A face you know lies awake, sleeping into the dirty mud.

It's time; no more waiting.

The finale has arrived.

Big bangs fill the air.

But everything happends like a silent film.

Drop the gun and run away.

No, now's not the time to give up.

You see the pain on the enemy's face.

Bodies falling one by one like a domino effect.

It's over, you won, but the victory is lonely

When you have no one to celebrate it with.

What a messy field of victory.
