“Really? Oh no, you actually did that? I don’t believe it!” You giggled as you continued to prepare breakfast for you and TOP. It is a Saturday morning and you woke up to the pleasant feeling of having the sun shine on your face instead of the blaring sound of your alarm clock.

And to add on to the beautiful morning, you got a text from Taeyang. Which eventually turned into multiple texts and led up to the call you now had with him. In the past week, you and Taeyang had really hit it off. He was so funny and charming that you couldn’t help but like him instantly.

You were starting to consider him as a really good friend. Every day for the past week, he’s brought you coffee every morning and during lunch, he never forgot to take you out and treat you to a delicious meal. During those lunch breaks, you’ve learned so much about him and learned that you two had so much in common. He loved photography, like you, enjoyed fun outdoor outings, and adored a laid back day watching movies.

He had a mom and two sisters and even had a cute white Siberian Husky dog named Lenny. You also found out that he graduated college last year with a bachelor’s degree in education. He wanted to be a teacher in the future because of his love of children and this current job he had was because he enjoyed photography and wanted to get some extra money.

“The same thing happened to me! I was so upset. It could have been the perfect photo but a squirrel ran right up to the front of my camera lens!” You said with a pout. You heard him chuckling at you and you couldn’t help but smile.

Cracking another egg into the pan for TOP, you heard a loud bark coming from the other line.

“Lenny?” You stated more than questioned. You heard Taeyang chuckling as he must have been playing with his dog.

“Hey not fair! I wanna meet Lenny too!” From all of the stories and pictures Taeyang had shown you of Lenny, you’ve really started to have a soft spot for the dog.

When Taeyang heard that, a smile lit up his face and suddenly he had an idea.

“Want to come take Lenny to the park with me today? I’m sure Lenny would love your company.” He asked, trying to keep his anticipation out of his voice.

You brightened at the idea. Spending time outside with an adorable dog and his even more adorable master. That sounded like heaven to you.

“Oh definitely! Tell me what time I should met up with you?” You asked excitedly.

“Oh I’ll come pick you up with Lenny, then we all can head together to the park?” You agreed with his plan and you gave him your address. You flipped the eggs and went to cook the bacon alongside it. Hearing a loud groan coming from the direction of TOP’s room, you shook your head with a smile.

“I have to go Taeyang, my best friend is up and it’s time for us to eat!” Hanging up with the promise to see each other in a few hours, you turned off the oven and picked up two plates. You placed the eggs and bacon on a plate and put them on the table just in time for TOP to come stumbling down to the kitchen. He eyes were still not fully open and he didn’t even take time off to comb his hair. Gosh he was adorable.

He took you into his arms and sighed as he held you. “Good morning sweet cheeks.” He mumbled out as he sagged onto you, still halfway asleep.

You giggled and maneuvered yourself out of his arms. Pushing him to the direction of his chair, he flopped down and finally opened his eyes. You poured coffee for yourself and took his mug and did the same for him. He immediately took a sip of the coffee and groaned.

“Woman you are a goddess.” He sighed out as he dug into his breakfast.

“I know.” You replied as you made your way to your chair and started to eat. TOP didn’t even reply as he stuffed himself with the food.

“Rough day yesterday hun?” You asked sympathetically. He didn’t come home until almost 3 in the morning because his boss made him do extra work. You’ve been telling him to quit and find a new job, but he enjoyed what he did. He loved being an architect and he dreamed of opening his own company. This job that he had now was for him to gain experience and save up some money so that he could make his dream happen.

Polishing off the last bit of food left on his plate, he sighed in contentment and smiled graciously at you. “Yup, but seeing your beautiful face this morning definitely made up for it.”

“Are you sure you’re content with just looking? You know I can sure make your morning is a lot better hotness.” You teased with a little grin at him. He chuckled at you as he stood up and placed his plate and mug into the sink.

“Promises, promises. Make sure you keep them alright babe?” He grinned back at you as he took your now empty plate as well. Finishing up the last bit of coffee left, you handed him your mug as he began to wash it.

“You got any plans today love?” he asked as you went to clean up the mess you created from cooking breakfast.

“Yup, I’m going to be hanging with my friend today at the park.” He nodded his head as he placed the last plate on the dish rack.

“Chae-rin or Sandara?” He asked as he turned around to watch you put the eggs back in the fridge.

You rolled your eyes at him and scoffed. “What, you think Chae-rin and Sandara are my only friends?” He chuckled at your answer and went up to you. He put his arms around you and grinned.

“That’s not what I meant angel. I know my goddess has multiple friends.” You shook your head at him and smiled a little. Chae-rin and Sandara were your two closest girl friends and the ones that you usually spent time with.

“I meant a new friend at work.” That caused TOP’s eyebrows to raise.

“Is she my type?” He asked, instantly making you laugh. TOP will be TOP.

“He is if your type is a man.” You laughed. A slight frown was instantly on his face at the mention of your new friend being a guy.

“What’s his name? How old is he? Why are you going with him?” He instantly bombarded you. Turning yourself away from his arms, you stared him down with a frown. TOP’s eyebrows were pulled together and a frown was present on his face.

Here he goes again. He’s always had a problem with you having other guy friends that he does not know. When you asked him why before, he said some completely ridiculous excuse. ‘It’s cuz I know guys. Girls like you are hard to resist for guys and they might end up doing things you won’t like’.

When you retorted that he was a guy and you were best friends with him, he scoffed and said, ‘Yeah but I’m different, I care a lot about you.’

“Don’t give me that act TOP.” You said dryly as he continued to stare you down, waiting for you to answer him.

“Act? This is not an act. This is me being a decent best friend and making sure you don’t get hurt!” He yelled out.

“I’m not letting you go until I met him and give you the green light.” You scoffed and looked at him as if he has turned crazy.

“Don’t you think you’re being ridiculous! First of all Taeyang and I are just going to the park to play with his dog Lenny! What do you think will happen in the middle of the day in front of so many people?! Aren’t you blowing this way out of proportion?” You screamed back at him. Well there goes the peaceful morning you planned to have.

“I’m your best friend that’s who I am! I have the damn right to know this. And as I said, I am a guy as well! I know the tricks guys play.” You could tell that his head was getting heated. His muscles were starting to tense and his gaze started to darken in anger.

You looked at him, incredulous with what he was spouting.

“Oh yeah, first a trip to the park, then he’ll take you clubbing and the next thing you know you’re drunk and in his bed!” He continued as he started to pace back in forth in front of you. He was starting to think the worst of the situation.

“Taeyang is not like that! You have no right to judge someone you don’t even know! He would never do anything like that to me!” you defended.

He sneered at that looking at you dead in the eye. “Are you really that clueless?” Your mouth dropped open in his insult. Glaring at him, you gritted your teeth as you bit out the next words.

“TAEYANG. WOULD. NEVER. DO. ANYTHING. TO ME!” This caused him to chuckle darkly, completely without humor.

“Oh right you’re not clueless, you’re just naïve and blind.” He bit out with barely constrained anger. That insult shot you directly in the heart and you looked at him with as much hatred as you could muster.

“I think you have forgotten who you are in my life. Just to remind you, you’re just my best friend, not my boyfriend, not my brother, or any damned thing you think you are to be talking to me like that. So stay the hell away from my life.” You spat out as you turned and stormed to your room. Who does the bastard think he is? Talking to me like that?

You were felt like screaming, more specifically screaming at TOP.

What you didn’t notice though was how much hurt your words caused to TOP. Gone was the anger and frustration, it was all replaced by hurt and sadness.

You slammed your door closed and just leaned on it, taking deep breathes. You and TOP barely fought, but when you did, it quickly escalates into something like this. You hated his overprotective and overbearing nature. He always did this, every time you met someone knew, he’d think the worst possible situation and just anger the hell out of you.

After a few seconds of taking deep breaths to calm yourself, you heart faint knocking on your door. Still too angry to open it, you just ignored him and pretended he didn’t even exist.

“Damn it, Ji eun let me in. Let’s talk.” You heard his whisper through the door. Your anger still has not left you and you refused to listen or even answer him.

“Look sweetie I’m sorry. Okay I admit it I was wrong. I know I overreacted, but you know why. I care about you, so much. I can’t bear the thought of you being hurt again without me doing anything. That mothering-“ You heard him sigh and stop himself. Your eyes immediately soften. Oh TOP. He’s still blaming himself for that incident.

“Look baby girl, I’m sorry okay. I promise I’ll try to keep an open mind about your new friend. Just let me in. I don’t like this.” You heard him sigh deeply and you bit your lip. Not being able to take it anymore. Hearing TOP sounding so desperate was so hard to take. It was not him and you hated hearing him sound like that.

Quickly, you unlocked your door and opened it. He was leaning on the side of your door with a dejected look on his face. You sighed and smiled a little at him.

“Promise?” He smiled at you and quickly had you in his arms.

“Love I’m so sorry for blowing up on you like that. God, you know I didn’t mean any of the things I said.” He said apologetically. You squeezed him gently and nodded your head.

“I’m truly sorry too hun. You know I didn’t mean anything I said. I know you’re just being your usually caring self.”

He squeezed you tighter to his chest and you both held each other like that for a second.

“I can’t help but think that everyone is like that motherer. I just. I never want to put you in that situation again.” He whispered brokenly. You shook your head at his statement.

“Love stop it. None of that was your fault. You knew just as much as I did. Besides, you came before anything bad could have happened, my little hero.” You pulled yourself from his arms and looked up at him. You gave him a gentle smile, prodding him to give you one back.

“But still, just thinking about what could have happened if I didn’t come-“ He shuddered at that and gently held onto your face with both of his hands.

“I could never live with myself if I put you in that same situation.” You snuggled your face closer to his hands and looked at him with so much love.

“Sweets, no matter how strong and brave you are, you’re no superman okay? You can’t always know everyone’s intentions and you won’t always be there to protect me. Besides I’m a tough girl.” You grinned at him, causing a smile to appear on his face.

He pulled you to his chest once more and sighed. “If only I can keep you in my pocket forever so I can protect you from everything!” He said exaggeratedly. You giggled at his dramatics and pulled yourself away from his embrace.

“Okay mister I need to go and get ready and you need to go and do your laundry.” You wrinkled your nose at him.

“Your clothes all stink.” You giggled out and ducked from his arms, running away before he could get you.

“Why you little!” He went after you, chuckling darkly as he eyes your running form.

“Take that back!” He screamed out, going full out in chasing you.

I don't know about you guys but TOP is definitely stealing my heart in this story! *sorry Taeyang!* Lol here is a pretty long chapter and you guys got to learn more about Taeyang, TOP and Ji eun(you).
