“Crappy, crappy-“you munched on your chips as you continued to browse through the T.V. You were sprawled out on the couch, lounging around and doing absolutely nothing. It was a Saturday, a day that was completely acceptable to do zilch in your pajamas.

“Oh love story!” You threw the remote on the floor and settled more comfortably as you focused your attention to the show.

You heard a door open but paid no attention to it. You were absorbed in the story. It was about a vampire girl falling in love with a human boy only to find out he was part werewolf! How cool was that?

You heard a deep chuckle to the right of you. “Really babe?”

You turned around to look him, about to argue. He was always making fun of your choices when it came to the things you watched. It wasn’t your fault you were completely into supernatural love stories!

The retort that you were about to say completely fled your head as you stared at the man in front of you. And what a man he was! He just showered, his hair still completely damp and plastered to his face. But what really caught your attention was the fact that he was shirtless. Every rippling muscle he possessed was on show for you to ogle and that was exactly what you did.

You eyes greedily took in every line and contour of his impossibly ripped body. It was nicely tan and hairless, perfect for ogling. A drop of water fell down his chest and you couldn’t help but trace its journey with yours eyes. It dipped down the contour of his six pack, sliding past muscle after muscle until finally being reaching his pants, where it was completely absorbed and the only thing left of it was a small wet path on the top of his jeans.

You sighed in disappointment and suddenly heard another chuckle coming from his mouth.

“Want a taste?” He gestured towards his body with a grin. You stare quickly snapped your stare up to his face. He caught your stare and he wiggled his eyebrows at you. You blushed, embarrassed that you were caught staring. It was his fault, being all y and everything! He knew his affects on women, and best friend or not, you were no exception to his charms.

The blush quickly left your cheeks and you looked at him with a mischievous glint in your eyes.

“Is that an offer you’re willing to go through?” You teasing your lips as you blatantly eyed him up and down. This time, it was him who had a slight flush on his cheeks. He shook his head at you and started to walk to the kitchen.

“Crazy girl.” He said with another chuckle as he affectionately patted your head. You giggled back at him as you focused your attention once again to the story.

“Oh shot! Look at what you made me do hun! I completely missed the part where she finds out about him being a werewolf!” You shouted in disappointment. You focused your attention once again to the show and was trying to catch up and figure out what you missed.

You heard him plop down next to you. You scooted over and made more room for him, but he simply pulled you back and right into his arms. You couldn’t help but close your eyes and enjoy the feeling of being in his arms. There was nothing in the world you loved better than being held by him. You were not only surrounded by his comforting arms but his calming scent engulfed you. His woodsy definitely male scent was so addictive to you that you could lose yourself in his arms.

You noticed that he had a shirt on and you looked at him with a smirk. He noticed what you were looking at and scoffed. “Hey. Can’t have me being violated by my own best friend now can we?” You giggled at that.

“Oh hush love, you know you liked it.” You teased back as you settled in the crook of his arms and focus your attention once again on the show.

He poked your sides and looked at you with an expression you were used to seeing his face. It was the really-Jieun-this-is-what-you-like look. He always gave you that look whenever he disagreed with any of your choices. It definitely would not be his top choice to be watching a completely sappy supernatural love story on Saturday afternoon.

“Hey no one is forcing you to watch it.” You said with a little pout.

“I never said anything~” He said with his innocent act. One you were definitely not buying.

“Your look said it all.” You rolled your eyes at him as he made a grab for your chips. You let him have it, knowing that you had way too much already. “Plus, who do you think I am? I’m your best friend mister. Been for over 8 years now and you think I won’t know something like that?” He looked down at you and smiled.

“Could never get anything past you can I?” You gave him a smile and shook your head.

“Why are you watching this crap-“You glared at him at that and he just rolled his eyes at you. “Fine, this immensely fascinating show.” He said dryly, surrendering to your glare.

“That’s more like it.” You said after his little correction.

“Anyway, why aren’t you out and about with your boyfriend?” He spat the word out like it was the plague. TOP did not approve of Chang-su at all. You could even say that he hated the guy, but you can’t say that the feelings weren’t mutual. Those two hated each other and no matter how much you tried to get them to get along. At best, they only tolerated each other.

“Why aren’t out and about finding another girl to fall to her knees in worship for you?” You retorted, causing another chuckle to come from him.

“Besides, Chang-su and I broke up 2 days ago.” That caused him to quiet down.

“Aw babe are you okay? Why didn’t you tell me?” You shrugged, completely nonchalant as he cradled you to his chest.

You looked up at him and could immediately detect the concern on his face.

“Hey don’t worry about me. I’m fine. It’s been a long time coming anyway.” You told him truthfully. After two years of a lukewarm relationship with Chang-su, it definitely was an expected end.

TOP put both of his hands around your face and got you to look at him. He was looking at you intensely, reading your expression, trying to see if you were as unaffected as you soundly.

After a minute of just gazing at you, a slow smile appeared on his face and it quickly transformed into a joyful chuckle.

He let you go and looked at you fondly. “It’s about damn time you dumped that loser. I still can’t understand what you saw in that little wimp.” You rolled your eyes at him. Here he goes again.

“Hey, be nice. Chang-su is a nice boy.” You said in defense to your ex. It might not have been the best relationship, but he was great to you.

“Yeah nice.” He said sarcastically. “Babe I could never get what it was about him that you saw. He was a skinny, weak and completely submissive boy. You could have done much better.”

You sighed as he got more and more pumped up with everyone word he said. Once again he was going into a rant on how you could have picked someone better, someone more to your league. Someone who could protect you and love you the way you needed to be loved.

“TOP. Stop. Chang-su and I are done now. I don’t need you going all big brother on me anymore.” You said exasperatedly. You’ve heard this tirade of his multiple times now and you were in no mood to hear it once again. You just wanted to relax and watch a movie without having to think about anything else.

After a moment of silence, you heard him sigh. “Fine I’ll stop.” He took off his arms that were around you and gently nudged you off of his chest. You looked at him with a pout.

“Where ya going?”

He grinned at you and held up his phone. “Got a date I need to cancel. My babe here needs me.” He said with a wink as he walked to the balcony.

You shook your head at him but couldn’t help but be extremely thankful. TOP always knew what you needed. Although it was a clean break between Chang-su and you, it was a bit lonely spending a Saturday by yourself. It definitely helped to have a best friend like him to take your mind off of two years you wasted on someone.

You focused your attention once again on the show and after a minute of watching, you gave up. You have missed so much of the plot already that you had no idea what was happening. You reached the remote, intent on changing the channel when you felt him sit back down and pull you to your original position on his chest.

“Alright! You have all of me to yourself!” He looked at you with a grin and you smiled back at him.

“Don’t I always have you to myself?” You poked his sides, causing him to chuckle.

“True.” Was all he said before you both quieted down as you flipped through the television. Settling down on a sports show, one of his favorites, you got yourself comfortable in his arms. He tucked you up under his neck, closing his arms around and holding you gently as he watched the show in interested.

You heard the comfortable beat of his heart as you both just enjoyed each other’s presence.

“You know, you really didn’t have to do that.” You said quietly, breaking the comfortable silence that surrounded you two.

“Babe I know, but I want to be here for you. That’s what best friends are for.” He answers you as he started to your hair. Ever since you met him, he’s always had a strange fascination with your hair. Whenever you were within reaching distance, he would always find some way of paying with your hair, twirling it in his hands and just letting it glide from his fingers.

“Love, I already told you that I’m not sad. You don’t have to comfort me.” You frowned. You didn’t want him staying with you out of pity.

You felt, more than heard, as he chuckled quietly with what you said.

“Who said that I stayed to comfort you? Babe I stayed to celebrate! Having him gone from your life is a good thing.” You decided not to answer and just rolled your eyes at him. Such a typical TOP thing to say.

Once again, the comfortable silence blanketed you two as you both watched the show in silence.

“I love you, you know that?” You said, breaking the silence once again.

“That’s a given. I will always love you Ji-eun.”
