It was a fact known by many people that Emma Watson was Taemin’s representation of the ideal woman. He had said so many times during interviews and even tried to bring her into the conversation when the interviewers had specifically asked about Korean women. Because of this, it barely came as a surprise to Key when Taemin decided to spend his afternoon off by watching the Harry Potter movies, skipping the scenes that had a lack of Hermione.  Still, Key couldn’t help but feeling unsatisfied. Why did he chose to watch those movies over spending some time with his Umma once Key had come back from his early-ended schedule? It was with a slight pout that Key walked to the kitchen, after having been ignored upon arrival, since Taemin was too absorbed with the images currently filling the TV screen.

While working his magic in the kitchen, Key watched how the younger boy continued to stare with enlarged eyes at the TV-screen; a sparkle coming to his eyes every time his favourite actress appeared on the screen. How unfair was this? Why couldn’t Key be the one that would bring such a sparkle to his eyes just by turning around? It had been quite a while since the role of Umma he had taken on so naturally in the beginning had become a mask - an excuse to stay close to the youngest of the group without people wondering what his motivations were. In fact, his feelings had long passed those of motherly affection. Still, he was content on keeping up the façade since he knew that he could never compete with the brown-haired girl on the screen that was currently telling what made those screeching plants called mandrakes so horrible whilst omitting to mention that they looked like malformed babies.

It was only when he was almost done cooking that he heard a soft sniffing noise followed by a soft “oh!”
Taemin had finally found out that he was no longer home alone. When Key looked up to meet his gaze there was a sparkle in Taemin’s eyes that appeared to shift the insides of Key’s stomach.  When Taemin added a greeting smile, Key swiftly returned to his current activities which he had almost forgotten. While prodding the simmering piece of meat, he tried to convince himself that those sparkles were solely the after-effect of the happy ending to the movie where Taemin’s favourite character returns after having been a statue for a long time. After a while, his thoughts thankfully drifted off as he couldn’t help but wonder how it could be possible that the girl could possibly survive being frozen for such a long time. Didn’t her bodily functions stop along with everything else when she was frozen? That would mean that her heart would stop right? And even if that weren’t the case, wouldn’t she starve to death as they can’t feed her? And if they used an IV then she still would have problems because she wouldn’t be able to blink- “WAH!”

Key nearly flipped the frying pan and jumped a mile into the air when he suddenly felt the touch of a chin on his shoulder and heard a voice near his ear.
“What are you making?”
Key’s attempts to calm his heart down were quickly interrupted when he found out that his sudden jump had caused Taemin’s jaws to smash together, effectively catching his tongue between them in the progress.
“Oh dear, are you okay?” Key gently patted the younger’s cheek while knowing that this wasn’t much of a help. This was one of the few injuries he couldn’t attempt to kiss better…
Well, not really…
It wasn’t really like he wouldn’t want to; it was just that the time and place weren’t really appropriate for such a thing. After all, they weren’t even…
Key quickly turned away hoping that the Maknae wouldn’t be able to figure out what he was thinking from his expression, there was no need for him to know since Key didn’t have a chance…

Key was about to lose himself in thought once again when he felt two hands forcing him to face the current subject of his worries. The sight that greeted him made his heart skip a beat. The Maknae, who hated being called cute and being forced to use aegyo was putting on his best pout, which was broken only by the mischievous sparkle in his eyes - making the complete look even better.
“Umma it hurts~ Kiss it better?” he whined before letting his tongue peek out from behind his beautifully shaped lips.
Unable to process the request that had just been made, Key stood frozen in place with his eyes unnaturally round, staring at the boy who just willingly asked him to… smooch? A third expression paired the sparkling eyes as his lips now pulled into a mischievous grin. Key wasn’t even aware that the other was drawing closer until a few moments before he felt a soft press of lips against his own.

And there they stood, the two boys, one of them statuesque as if he had crossed eyes with a basilisk, the other making the most of the limited time he had before the other unfroze, giving off an air as if he had already thought out what he would do if he would ever find them in such a situation. He was already halfway down the pale neck when the diva unfroze and stumbled backwards, his limbs suddenly extremely weak; it was the firm hand against his lower back that kept him from colliding against the countertop. 
“W-Wh-” The lips that usually had a waterfall of words coming out of them were currently unable to form a proper word as the eyes seemed to have taken over their part, becoming the most active part of his face as they were continuously blinking.

Taemin couldn’t help but silently laugh at the expression on his elder’s face.
“Let’s go sit down? Shall we?” He quickly turned off the fire before leading the still dazed man to the couch he had been sitting on before. As he waited for the other to collect his thoughts, he amused himself by watching the many expressions that crossed his face.
“Why did you do that?”
He smiled at the still unsteady sound of the voice, “Because I love you.”
This short sentence once again sent the diva into a confused silence, though now there was a spark of hope in his eyes.
“But, aren’t you crazy about that girl?” Key weakly gestured towards the TV-screen, the ending credits having been replaced by the DVD-menu, depicting the young trio. 
A smile spread across Taemins face. “You’ve never asked me why I like her have you?” - Key shook his head.
“Well, first of all I like her wavy hair, I like the way she smiles when her friends are goofing around and I like the way she can snap at someone when she disagrees. I like her need to show off her hard work and excel in every thing she does, I like the courage you wouldn’t expect when you first meet her and I like the way she helps her friends even though she knows they should be able to do those things without her. And I like many more things about her, all because they remind me of a certain Hyung I love.”
After this short speech, he reached out a hand to gently wipe away the tear that had followed a soft sob as his words sank in, only to have it shoved aside as his diva Hyung flung himself into his arms, sobbing loudly while wetting his shirt with happy tears. With a content smile he waited until the elder somewhat calmed down before getting up from the couch and switching the DVD so they could watch the next movie together.

As they snuggled together on the couch, Key finally got to watch the movies without the feelings of annoyance he used to have whenever the young witch would show up on their screen for the first time in years, and, as he saw her grab onto the hand of the awkward boy, he finally realized why the Maknae had decided on dying his hair red.

Well then, that was my short fic, I hope you all enjoyed it!
I had initially planned for this to be crack but in the end it turned out super sappy and more like a fluff~
I guess it was to be expected since I have a weak spot for sappiness and I fail at being funny on cue XD
Either way, it fulfilled the two demands I set myself:
1. Write a story featuring Taemin
2. Make it more lighthearted than the first fic I wrote
