much for him to worry about. Except that, he has no ambitions in life.

Yoona (22)

Young and aspiring, the girl graduated from university with 

first class honors in psychology. Work was her utmost priority. 

 

 

 

 

Foreword

Freshly graduated from university, Kris wandered aimlessly in life. Unlike him, his childhood friend, Yoona had immersed herself in work, climbing up the social ladder to pursue her life's dream.

 

"Yoona, how have you been lately?"

"Oh, Kris. I'm doing well."

"..."

"I'll be leaving first then."

 

Their special encounter on that fateful day had brought them together. As they walked off in the opposite directions after that awkward conversation they had after a few years, they soon realized that there were so much that they had wanted to say to each other.

 

Would he be able to pluck up his courage and say those three words out? 

Would she stop in her tracks towards her fast-moving life and take a look around to find out what she had missed out?

And, would their friendship develop into something more than they had expected?

 

 

A/N: Hello, I've written an one-shot, and it's a Yoon-Kris story. It starts from their friendship during the elementary days and how it developed over the years till graduation from university. Please support! I'll update soon. Do comment & subscribe!

The simplicity in this writing style gives the story a clear focus for the readers to process the content in a straight path without having to figure out a mystery. It's like fate brought them together for them to learn from each other. Being judgmental and having high standards, Yoona initially thought negatively of him when that kept her from socializing with him to get to know him better. Her impression of him changed when he'd shown his true colors through his actions. Kris is one impressive character to have such a great impact on her life since childhood. It's touching that he's willing to make a sacrifice (turning down the prestigious medical school's offer) for Yoona's sake just so she wouldn't be depressed alone. Unfortunately, it wasn't well received when she found that he wasn't being honest with her, which she didn't handle well. In the end, it's good that she finally came to appreciate Kris after some self-reflection. "Actions speak louder than words." The things he'd done for her had proven his worth as a person. The power of love gives one the strength to endure through the hard times. It's meaningfully sweet how they finally ended up together after a very long time awaiting.



Yoona's individual situation can be relatable for some people to some extent. When people are focused on themselves and career-driven, love is something that takes a backseat. It's important for people to work on themselves first and take time for personal growth before getting into a relationship. When there are unresolved insecurities and personal issues, it'll bring toxicity into the relationship. So, it's best that she's more sure of herself before finding love. Having self-love is important before loving someone else. The time spent on self-improvement is crucial in developing the mental and emotional maturity to cope with being in a committed relationship.

This sounds like an intriguing love story that revolves around the development of their relationship through time. Their reunion seems to reflect on their natures where they complement each other well with their individual differences. It's possible for love to develop from a close friendship when strong feelings blossom between them. This emotional attachment gives the relationship its foundation for there to be a strengthened connection.
