1429 A.D.

      It was well into the 15th century where souls were uncertain of their fates. The curious were engulfed by the thrill of adventuring, later converting them into either noble heroes, the damned, or worse... Some of these souls were righteous and good, some were lost, others were part of another kind of evil, called THE MALFESTED. They were vile, disgusting creatures whose souls were devoured by a strong, powerful force . These vile souls would do unspeakable horrific things to the normal souls, such as killing children, violating women, or so, but they couldn't be stopped in a small village of Jirisan, Korea(Present-Day South Korea). Many spirits were broken, people lost hope too quickly. It was a terrible time, unfortunate time for these lost souls.

      Legends say that there is a reason for the chaos bestowing upon these souls. They say it's because of not one but 2 almighty swords that linked together the good and the bad. These swords posessed unimaginable power(as the legends would say), both swords having different powers. The Soul Calibur was a 4ft., entirely crystallized sword which represented happiness and balance over Earth and its inhabitants. The Soul Edge was the same size as its counterpart, but this one had red rocky lava that coursed through it with a yellow distressed eye in the center of the sword representing chaos and destruction. Some say the legends are true, some think it's complete utter nonsense. These legends cause the malfested and curious souls to try and confirm them, failing completely.

      As more and more determined souls and selfish malfested souls try to find these swords, their seemingly harmless intentions have become more and more ridiculous and selfish, thus, emerging into a war between these lost souls...The war for these swords have been raging like wildfire as the once peaceful souls of Jirisan have become as sinful as the malfested. Later days to come after the war rages and more deaths are occuring, the safety of these souls are declining, leaving women, children, and some men to fend for themselves in the cold, cruel world they supposedly called 'home'. These last sane ones were lost, looking to find what was in their souls that kept them from going crazy as their peers did.

     They needed these swords, to find themselves.
