"Being first was everything to him, being the first one to fall though, wasn't as fun"
Foreword
He was always first at everything.
Obviously, being the competitive persona he was, it was natural for him to achieve for the best position there was. So he was always at the top.
No one could beat him, whether it was at sports or at academics, getting girls, or at competitions, he always won, he was always first.
And he loved being first.
Maybe it had started with the simple compliments he would receive each time he won the singing competitions back when he was in elementary school. Maybe it had to do with the way both, the teachers and the students, looked at him with admiration every time he got a perfect score in any test at all. Maybe it was the quite generous amount of girls that tried to flirt with him on a daily basis. Whatever it was, it got to his head.
Being first was very rewarding; he got the admiration, approval and love from his own family and friends. It also earned him a lot of admirers. He didn’t have to worry about anything at all, and the fact that he was just too loved made him think he had not to worry about feelings either. Life was good being first, and in his opinion, life wasn’t as lonely at the top, as everyone says.
But then that one day came, the one that made him realize that being the first wasn’t as best as he had initially thought, because after eighteen years of being the ‘first’ at everything, he had known what being in love was like.
And like always, he had been the one to fall first.
