At 17, Aaron Yan isn't getting anywhere too quickly; a rebellious and headstrong kid who doesn't think before he acts, and very loud (sometimes too loud, it gives his mother a headache everyday). When he begins to fail his English class, however, it's a terrible thing. Having been raised in the United States, he should be acing this class!

It might have to do with the evil assistant teacher; Miss Hebe Tian, who is usually sweet and understanding to her students, and is easygoing on marking their tests and homework (the real teacher is too lazy, after all). To Aaron, though, she is a monster, and she never hands back a sheet with over 70% on it.

What neither of them can even hope to predict, though, is that the actual English teacher has put them together on a tutorial plan --either Hebe helps Aaron to raise his English mark to a perfect 90%, or she'll get transfered to the music department (which wouldn't be too bad; Hebe knows how to play just about everything). When that isn't threat enough, the teacher then threatens to -- to-- to have Aaron sit by Hebe's desk for the remainder of the year, and it's only December.

Armed with huge stakes and a no -cheating policy ("Don't you dare just raise his mark! He has to earn it!"), Aaron and Hebe embark on an epic journey that will raise hairs and make readers fidget in their seats because of the awkwardness (oh, the awkwardness!).
