“He passed away… two years ago.” 

The way you said it, the way your sweet voice suddenly became indifferent and void of emotion, it felt like it was someone other than you who standing besides me on that cold night. 

And in that moment, I finally understood it all. Why your eyes were lonely, why your laughs sounded hallow, why the Se Hun everyone knew seemed like a cover-up to me all this time.  

Maybe that’s why I never had a solid reason why I was drawn to you whenever one of my friends asked. It wasn’t because your hair fell gorgeously into your eyes, nor was it the way I could lose sleep whenever we talked. It was because you had this underlying sadness to you all along, these hidden scars that made me only love you more with each passing day. 

But you never really fooled me with your pained smiles. I know a liar when I see one. How? Because Krystal’s a better liar herself. 

“Tell me about how things are going with your girlfriend,” I smiled, “I’d love to know.” 

You grin.
