Delving into the Past
"Oh god, what is that thing? No, Sammy! Don't sniff it! Bad boy!" The dog's owner was trying frantically to pull the said dog away from what appeared to be a dead corpse. All he wanted to do that day was to take a nice walk on the beach, but the dog had a different idea of what a "nice walk" meant. Sammy started to nudge the body with his nose and managed to roll it over.
"Is he breathing?" The dog stared at its owner. The only words that it knew were "sit", "stop", and "cake". Now that the body was facing upwards, Tao could see that it was an attractive young man who was around his age. His chest was moving up and down in a steady rhythm. Should I call an ambulance? What if the vultures come and devour his body? Wait, I'm on a beach, so instead of vultures, there would be huge flesh-eating crabs! Yifan said that I should call him before making any rash decisions... Tao yanked out his cell phone and pressed the button for speed dial for Yifan. As you can see, Tao made a lot of rash decisions.
"What." A irritated voice rang out.
"I found something!" Tao said while examining the unconscious boy.
"What should I do..Yifan? Hello? You there?" Tao looked at his phone and saw that Yifan had hung up on him.
He pressed the call button again and after three rings, a different voice answered the phone.
"What did you do to make Yifan mad? He threw his cell phone into my bed and went back to sleep." It was Yixing, Yifan's roommate.
"Remember he told me to call him whenever something weird, strange, perplexing, diffi-".
"Okay, I get it. Whenever something out of the ordinary happens. So what did you find today? A beached whale? The giant kraken? Or were you amazed when you found out that your footsteps disappeared after the waves come up?" Yixing could already see the pout on Tao's face. That boy was hopeless.
"I found an unconscious boy and I don't know what to do."
"Chuck him into the ocean or else the ocean gods will be displeased, and you’ll have to sacrifice Sammy instead."
"Okay."
Yixing thought that Tao was going along with his joke, but the scraping sounds of something heavy told him otherwise.
"No! No! I was kidding! Tao, stop! Just wait there! I'm coming!" Yixing kept the phone between his shoulders and ran out the door, fully protected from the wind with his pair of boxers. Pedaling his bike as fast as he could, Yixing could only hope that Sammy would be able to prevent its owner from tossing the poor boy into the ocean. I'm sorry my future children, blame it on my personality...and how gullible Tao is.
Within ten minutes, Yixing got to the beach and cursed Tao for taking walks at big and isolated beaches. Where's that bimbo, oh god, please let me find him. I don't want bad karma! The sound of barking bought Yixing back to his senses. He ran to the source of noise and found Tao and Sammy in a game of tug-of-war. With a human as a rope. A human.
"WHAT THE ARE YOU DOING?" Yixing roared as he got close enough to the human rope. He noticed the shallow breathing and thanked the gods that the boy was still alive.
"You said to throw him into the ocean." Tao pouted, and he gently dropped the boy onto the ground.
"I was kidding. Geez Tao, you need to lay off on the cake and the cartoons." Yixing started to check the vitals of the boy. "Hmm, he seems to be perfectly fine. Looks like he's in a coma."
"Do you think we should take him to the hospital?" Tao asked.

"It's pretty far, let’s ask the paramedic who lives next door. Call Yifan to bring the car down to the beach." Lay asked and analyzed the unconscious boy's handsome face. Although he tried to focus on Tao’s phone call to make sure he didn’t make Yifan hang up again, he just couldn’t bring himself to look away from that gorgeous bone structure. The more he stared, the more troubled he felt.
It felt like they had met before.
