True Love's Kiss
My Vampire SoulmatesMy eyes fluttered open to find a blank-faced Sungjong staring off into space with his arms still securely around me. I lifted my head from his shoulder to look around the already bright warehouse. It was supposed to be warmer when the sun is already up but the temperature was unusually low as I shivered and stuck closer into Sungjong's embrace.
"I'm sorry I'm cold-blooded. I can't provide you with any warmth even when you're cold." The boy said while looking away from my eyes, feeling guilty that he couldn't even do such a simple thing that is keeping his friend warm.
I just cupped a hand on his cheek and made him face me again, I gave him a comforting smile, "It's alright, silly. I'm fine, I'm much stronger than you think, okay? Don't worry about it." I assured him and tried to lessen my shivering while snuggling closer to Sungjong even if his body is already cold. But being in someone's embrace still warms my heart, even though not physically.
Silence soon took over as only the sounds of mine and Sungjong's breathing was heard. My breaths came out as misty poofs. It got colder and what surprised me most was that it started snowing, "Om-m-mo... S-Sungjong-ah, it's s-snowing." My teeth cackled amongst themselves as my shivering got worse. But if the hyungs did win the war, they'd be here by now. It's been more than twenty-four hours."
I looked fearfully into his hopeless eyes. Tears pooled in my eyes and slipped down my cheeks once I blinked. Without thinking, I blurted, "We need to go back, Sungjong. We need to know what's going on. I-I can't. I can't take it anymore. Th-this is torturing, I feel so miserable." Sungjong didn't know how to respond as all that could be heard was my loud sobs, "P-please, Sungjong. If we win this war, we live happily all together. B-but if we lose this war, we die together. If no one lives, then I d-don't want to do so too. W-we're in this together."
My breaths became heavier and heavier at the decrease of temperature every minute and almost all colour was losing itself in my face. Nodding unsurely, Sungjong agreed, "Okay. Let's go back. We're all in this together. If we live, we live together, if we die, we die together." I nodded weakly as tears kept escaping my eyes. I let out shaky breaths as Sungjong tried to pull me up to a stand by my legs, but they were numb and weak, I couldn't stand without any support. I hadn't eaten or drank for two days and all the energy are starting to drain inside me.
Sungjong pulled me onto his back and started running back to our mansion. My heart broke at the sight in front of me once we arrived at the mansion. It looked nothing like the lu
