Sinking

Mine Mine

/////

“I swear I’ll kill him. I’ll kill him. I’m gonna kill him.” Victoria repeated underneath her breath as she ran down the stairs.

After preparing breakfast for Chin Hae, she took a seat beside him to enjoy her own when Donghae appeared by the kitchen doorway. She glared at him realizing that his forehead was still pink from her hit.

“Serves you right,” she grumbled.

Donghae walked pass her and poured himself a bowl a cereal.

Victoria ate away ignoring his presence.

After she let Chin Hae out of his high chair she dropped her dishes into the sink freezing when she heard footsteps from behind.

“You’re not going to apologize?” he questioned.

Victoria turned her head around to stare at him.

“Why should I?” she refuted. “I was the one ually harassed.”

“What?” he seemed shocked. “No one touched you. Definitely not there.”

Victoria gritted her teeth. She wanted to jump him with a knife. She really did.

She inhaled and exhaled, “Are you done eating?”

Without waiting for an answer she turned off the faucet.

“Thanks for washing the dishes, bastard.”

Victoria briskly walked pass him and found Chin Hae in the living room enjoying some cartoon show for kids on TV. She was burning.

“Agh! I want to strangle him so bad!” she whispered gripping her hands into fists.

She slumped down on the couch her body still feeling hot from his hold all night. Her heart unduly raced when she recalled his knee inching up between her legs and became angrier.

“I’m gonna kill you, Lee Donghae!” she swore.

“Aunty,” Chin Hae climbed up onto the couch beside her. “Uncle was sad yesterday.”

She grew even more pissed at the mention of Donghae, but she couldn’t show it in front of such a young boy. Chin Hae was innocent in all of this.

“Oh yea?” Victoria smiled through gritted teeth. “It’s ok. He’ll get over it.”

“Because you went with Big Man.” Chin Hae went on.

Oh, the talk of it made Victoria heat up with more anger.

“Next time, no go.” Chin Hae adorably shook his head.

“Ok, ok.” Victoria hastily agreed to make him quiet up.

She could no longer tolerate any talk about that jerk of uncle he had. She grumbled. Why was she there? Why was she spending a damn month under that damn house with that damn bastard?! Why!?

When Donghae entered the living room, Victoria glared at him and stomped up the stairs to lock herself up in her room to only head back down to feed Chin Hae.

/////

“Tsh!” Donghae snorted. “Ignoring me, are you?”

He glared after Victoria when she trotted up the stairs with angry steps.

/////

“Aunty, read me bedtime story.” Chin Hae insisted grabbing Victoria’s hand when she set him to bed.

“Story?” Victoria repeated before sitting back down. “Then, what should I read?”

She patted his tiny hand before turning around to glance at the small bookshelf sitting against the wall. Running her eyes over the titles she pulled one out and laid beside Chin Hae on the bed. After reading the whole story she closed the book with a yawn and turned to see that Chin Hae had fallen into a deep slumber.

“He’s so cute,” she smiled his hair.

Feeling a bit tired she wrapped both arms around the book and fell asleep herself.

/////

After turning off all the lights downstairs Donghae started up the stairs stretching his arms out and paused when he saw that the light in Chin Hae’s room was still on. Glancing in he saw Victoria lying beside his nephew asleep. He snorted at the sight and stepped into the room. Grabbing the book out of Victoria’s arms he glanced at the title before setting it down on top of the bookshelf before reaching to turn off the lamp on the table.

When the light darkened and the nightlight on Chin Hae’s side lit up he glanced down at the sleeping Victoria wondering how he’d wake her up without her screaming at him. Well, he guessed he had no choice after all.

Slipping both arms underneath her he lifted her up with a small grunt and started out into the hallway closing Chin Hae’s bedroom door with his foot.

/////

Victoria was awoken from her slumber when the bright lights in the hallway struck her eyes. Waking back up to reality she first felt her shoulder leaning against someone before realizing that ‘that’ someone was carrying her. And of course, when she looked up, she’d find no one else but Donghae.

She first screamed and struggled in his arms before he had no choice but to drop her. Victoria landed on the ground with a hard thud, the pain crawling up her arm into her body.

“Ahh!!” she moaned before turning to glare up at him.

“Yah!” Donghae scolded. “I was just helping you into your room!”

The room again? Her room!? To molest her? To harass her again!?

“You bastard!” she sprang up to her feet grabbing the collar of his shirt. “I’m going to kill you!”

Before she could do anything in her own defense, Donghae grabbed her hand’s hold on the collar of his shirt twisting it in his hold to his advantage. And instantly found herself pinned against the wall in her own room helplessly.

“Now you’ve done it.” Donghae warned, his voice almost quiet.

Victoria stared back at him in the dark. Her hand became loose when he pried it off his shirt, but still continued holding it.

“Should I spell it out for you about why exactly you’re here?” he asked.

Victoria stared at him falling in his trap.

“No reason, actually,” he said prying her stiff legs apart with his knees. “Just my parents thought I’d be reckless without you around to keep watch on me.”

“Tsh…really…” Victoria mumbled.

“Ah,” Donghae continued, “and one more thing.”

She stared back at him.

“Don’t blame me if I feel all heated up around you.”

She immediately became dumbfounded about what he actually meant by that, but all of her senses were cut off when her head smashed against the wall, his wet lips digging themselves into hers. Her widened eyes stared into the dark, her brain confused before she heard that voice at the back of her head telling her to get him off. Her hand flew up against his chest and she tried to push him off to no avail. The fist in his hold helplessly tried to unclasp itself, her legs unconsciously squeezing themselves around his leg.

Victoria felt his lips brush against hers repeatedly, her body becoming immensely hot. However, she continued trying to push him off, her mind already sinking into a deep abyss of its own.

When his lips finally stopped harassing her, she gasped for air before realizing what he was actually doing.

“Ah…yah…s…stop…” the words tripped over themselves when she forced them out.

Seriously, why was her mind trailing off on its own already!? She almost couldn’t concentrate. Her legs squeezed his even more when he continued on her neck. Victoria’s hand undoubtedly gripped his shirt as she became completely powerless.

She felt ashamed of her throbbing core, her racing heart, her spinning mind when he finally released her.

“Goodnight,” his lips curled against her skin before he left her alone in the cold room.

Victoria remained in spot stunned before she dropped to the ground hopeless.

“What…” she mumbled, angry tears in her eyes. “What the hell, Victoria!?”

Burying her head into her arms she curled up on the ground. What the hell was wrong with her? Why couldn’t she have thrown him off like she thought she wanted? Why, why had she wanted it!? Why was she feeling this way!?

“Aunty,” Chin Hae patted her arm the next morning. “Aunty, why red mark?”

She watched as he pointed to his neck innocently. Victoria turned away from him and glared up at Donghae who sat on the other side of the table completely oblivious to her fury.

“Ah, it’s nothing,” Victoria calmly answered. “I got bit by a spider.”

“Spider?” Chin Hae asked.

“Yes, a spider.” she noticed Donghae tilt his eyes up. “But I killed it.” She made sure to put emphasis on the word ‘kill’ in order to emphasize her fury.

Donghae’s eyebrow twitched to her amusement.

“Chin Hae-ah,” Donghae started. “When you see a red mark on someone’s neck like that, it means that someone has marked them their territory.”

Chin Hae stared back at his Uncle silently.

“Chin Hae, are you full?” Victoria turned to him, trying to bottle up her serious anger.

Chin Hae nodded and she let him out of his high seat.

“Go play with your toys or watch TV.” Victoria smiled.

The little boy nodded and ran off.

When he was gone Victoria turned back to Donghae with a menacing glare.

“Territory? Just what ing territory are you talking about!?” Victoria couldn’t help but raise her voice somewhat.

Donghae stared back at her before getting up from his chair. Victoria couldn’t let it show that he was intimidating her, so she remained still in her chair as he gripped onto the chair with one hand and leaned over her.

“Should I do it again?” his breath echoed of her skin.

Victoria gritted her teeth and pushed him away.

“Get away!” she screamed jumping up to her feet. “I’ve had it with you!”

She turned around to glare at him before heading for the stairs.

Shutting the door and locking it she fell against it. What was going on with her? Why, when he neared her, was her heart going off on its own? Beating so hard that she couldn’t breathe.

“Ah!” Victoria locked her head between her arms and belted out a small scream. “It’s that bastard’s doing. He’s purposely putting me up for this. Screw you. Just you wait, you jerk.”

/////

Donghae chuckled to himself when Victoria’s footsteps disappeared up the stairs. He hadn’t expected her to be so afraid, yet her reactions were certainly amusing him. It could either mean she couldn’t admit it that she liked him coming onto her or it meant that she didn’t want to show that she liked it too.

Oh well, he’d just have to wait to play with her some more. He guessed he’d leave Victoria alone for a while, since she was so intimidated by him.

After washing up the dishes, he found Chin Hae watching a cartoon series on TV. Picking up the little munchkin he placed him beside him on the couch.

“What are you watching, little guy?” Donghae questioned.

“Supha heroes,” Chin Hae pointed to the TV. “Uncle, I save Aunty when she not happy like him!”

Donghae stared at the TV unmoved by Chin Hae’s sincerity. Well, of course there wouldn’t be a time when Victoria would call out in the time of distress. It was just like that blockhead to play it hard and do everything herself.

“Sure,” he cheered Chin Hae on placing a hand on his small head.

“Uncle, I hungry.” Chin Hae turned to him a few hours later.

“Ok,” Donghae got up to his feet stretching his whole body. “I’ll go make something for you.”

When Donghae stepped into the dining room Victoria reached the bottom of the stairs. A glare immediately lit her face when she spotted him. Turning away she started toward the living room.

“Hold up,” Victoria called before spinning around to walk over to him.

She stopped in front of him.

“Have the house to yourself tonight because I’m going somewhere else for the night,” Victoria said.

He stared at her blankly before saying, “That’s only if you can get out of here.”

Victoria sent him another one of her ultimate glares before he started to walk away. However, Victoria stuck her foot out allowing him to clumsily trip over it and before Donghae knew it his head had collided into the wall.

“You deserve that for acting so big,” Victoria muttered before walking away but stopped when Donghae let out a cry.

“I’m bleeding!!”

Victoria spun around to see a small cut on Donghae’s forehead and for sure he was bleeding.

After forcing Victoria to make a quick meal for Chin Hae Donghae sat himself in the living room purposely squeezing his cut so that more blood would ooze out. When he heard Victoria’s loud footsteps near he let his hands fall to his sides and purposely complained of the pain and the scar it would leave behind. Victoria scowled at him before forcing herself into the room with the first aid kit.

Tossing some bandages onto the side Victoria sat on the cushion beside him and glanced at the cut when he turned to her.

“It’s not even that big of a cut and you’re making a big deal out of it as if it were a life and death situation,” Victoria mumbled.

She squeezed some ointment onto a piece of bandage before pressing it against his forehead with more strength than needed.

“There, now quit crying.” Victoria said before getting up.

Before she could leave Donghae grasped onto her arm pulling her down and within seconds had her pinned beneath him. Leaning over her he glanced toward the kitchen with a smirk. Victoria palmed his shoulders trying to push him off.

“What the f…” she started but quieted when the doorbell rang and his hands tightened around her shoulders.

The doorbell rang insistently once more.

“Just playing,” he smiled before getting off.

He watched as Victoria tried to hold the urge to kick him back before getting up to answer the door.

“Hey,” he heard a familiar voice he detested greet Victoria.

Immediately turning he watched as Victoria stared back at Cho Kyuhyun surprised.

“My grandma baked some cookies this morning, I thought you’d like some,” Kyuhyun told, “there are some for Chin Hae as well.”

Donghae glared.

“Ah…you didn’t have to…” Victoria said accepting the treat.

“Oh…and…” Kyuhyun started, “my sister wanted to thank you for coming to visit the other day. She gave me some tickets to the amusement park to give you. You can go whenever, they don’t expire until the end of summer.”

Donghae watched as Victoria stared at the tickets before gratefully receiving them.

Then he heard her say, “Really? Then how about you? Are you free today? Shall we use these today?”

In less than 5 minutes Victoria was out the door before Donghae could recollect his thoughts. Panicking about what kind of things they’d do at the amusement park Donghae shot up from where he was.

“Chin Hae! Chin Hae!” Donghae shouted.

When the little boy did not respond Donghae rushed into the kitchen to see Chin Hae eating happily away at the meal Victoria had cooked for him. By then Donghae’s heart was pounding so fast it was practically echoing all over the house.

“Chin Hae, do you want to go outside today? Want to go play at the amusement park?”

/////

Victoria couldn’t help but turn around every few minutes just to make sure that Donghae wasn’t following her. For some absurd reason, she had some awful feeling that he’d do it.

Gulping nervously she followed Kyuhyun into the busy amusement park and waited by a bench for Kyuhyun to buy her some cotton candy.

/////

“Now where are they?” Donghae muttered pulling Chin Hae after him as they walked around the park.

“Uncle! I want to ride that!” Chin Hae jumped excitedly beside him while pointing to a child ride.

“Ok, ok.” Donghae promised inattentively.

He spun around, searched every crowd possible before his eyes sparkled.

“Ah-ha! Gotcha!” he smiled dragging Chin Hae along continuously.

Donghae paused beside a bench staring at the couple before him before bending down to face Chin Hae.

“Chin Hae, do you see your Aunty?”

Chin Hae turned to look straight ahead and smiled brightly.

“Aunty!”

“Yes,” he prodded on. “Do you remember that man beside her?”

Chin Hae stared for a few seconds and Donghae began to doubt that Chin Hae remembered Kyuhyun.

“Big Man!” Chin Hae shouted with a jump. “Big Man!”

Donghae raised an eyebrow surprised before saying, “Uncle wants some time with Aunty, can you help me?”

“Mm!” the little boy nodded with his cute smile and Donghae pinched his cheek feeling his own heart jump in joy.

/////

“Are you sure you don’t want to ride anything?” Kyuhyun asked. “Are you feeling unwell?”

Victoria glanced away feeling a bit guilty for lying to him. She just wanted to escape Donghae’s house and especially Donghae himself. The fear that she’d incline to his surprise attacks was suddenly growing by the second and Victoria just wanted to get away from it all.

“Yea, I’m sorry,” Victoria awkwardly smiled.

Kyuhyun opened his mouth to speak but Victoria felt someone rush by like the gust of wind pulling her after him. It had all happened so fast she couldn’t quite recognize him.

Behind her she could hear little Chin Hae shouting, “Big Man! Big Man!”

Unable to fight against the pull of gravity Victoria stared at the man’s back. His grip on her hand hadn’t loosened one bit and by the time they reached the Ferris Wheel she heard him screaming.

“Wait for us!”

Oh yea, Victoria recognized that detestable voice. Victoria’s insides screamed for the man to declare that all seats had been filled, but just as she expected they were let on. Once the door closed imprisoning in the same space she glued herself to the side. When their cube started rocking Victoria stared out the clear window and spun back to Donghae who stared at her triumphantly.

“And what the heck are you doing here?” Victoria demanded to know.

“Ah…well,” Donghae shrugged, “you know, chasing someone.”

Victoria glared and pressed her back against the window when he leaned forward.

“What?” he asked coolly staring at her with mocking eyes.

Victoria blinked her eyelids rapidly turning away.

“What do you want?”

He slid over and pressed both his hands against the window on either side of her trapping her.

“Well, I don’t really need anything,” he expressed.

Victoria gulped when he pressed closer and when she turned her head she felt her cheek brush against his. Her heart started thumping within her ribs. Just what was this!?

“Lets face it, Victoria,” he said, “we’re not kids who hate each other anymore. Or are we?”

She pressed her lips together. What was he talking about?

“Cause I certainly see you in a different light,” he admitted. “So why don’t we just cut this crap and just go out?”

“Are you crazy?” Victoria asked.

Donghae easily shrugged as if it didn’t matter at all.

“All you have to say is that you like me too.”

Victoria bit back her tongue.

“If I kiss you and you don’t bite back, I consider it as we’re ok, ok?”

“You can’t just…” she started to refute but silence overwhelmed her when he suddenly kissed her.

As much as she still wanted to rebel against him, her body had already given in. Victoria found herself melting against his lips, her hands crawling up his strong arms.
