The newest group debuting under SM Entertainment, SHINee, make their way to the lavish, Hollywood-style party arranged by Lee Sooman himself, who was proud of the boys' successful debut. 

All five members enter the shallow walls of the building with loud music blasting from the inside. First in was the maknae, Taemin. Followed by Minho, Jinki — or as he preferred, Onew, Key and finally, Jonghyun.

"Here they come! My latest masterpiece, SHINee!" Sooman and the rest of the people — consisting of Korean celebrities under SM Entertainment; like, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, DBSK, Trax, CSJH The Grace, etc., some of Sooman's business associates, some socialites and some crew members from SM — greeted, applauded and congratulated the five on their debut success.

Onew was awkwardly dancing in one side of the dance floor with a few of his friends. Key and Minho were talking to girls with their 'flirting-with-the-ladies' expressions. Taemin was busting some incredible moves on the dance floor with Super Junior's Hyukjae and Hankyung. But Jonghyun, who was supposed to be the life of the party, couldn't help but feel empty and alone. Yes, he was happy about their successful debut and all, but he just couldn't help it. In a room full of people partying it up, he was probably the only one sitting still and alone on the bar counter. He just watched the party scene in solitude.

He gazed at some drunk guys dancing with a bunch of drunk girls, then at Lee Sooman who was bragging about the success of SM with some businessmen, then at a bunch of his Super Junior-hyungs doing silly stuff and pranks, then finally to a blonde girl along with two others. He could see that she looked isolated as he did. She was Jessica Jung.

Jonghyun had definitely heard of her. She was nicknamed the "Ice Princess" by the netizens because of her hard-like-a-shell exterior. From what he's heard, she's not as open as the rest of the SNSD members. He couldn't help but adore her brave-ness when he heard that she was the most hated SNSD member because of rumors of her dating Donghae, Jaejoong, Kangin, etc. No wonder she's not as open as the rest. Underneath her cold, emotionless exterior is a girl who's been hurt and wounded.

He sees her take a glance at him and he waves in her direction with a slight smile. She smiled back at him, mouthing the words "SHINee hwaiting!" before turning around.

"Fun party, huh?" There was a familiarity in the voice Jonghyun just heard. Before he could turn around, the owner of the voice already made her way next to him on the bar counter, letting her strawberry-scented perfume linger in the air. It was Jessica Jung.

"Yeah, it's okay." Jonghyun comments, signaling another round of sparkling water (with strict managers, crew members and bosses around, he probably won't get away with a glass of whisky, since he's still 18, remember?) to the bartender.

Jessica rests her chin on her palm, "aww, poor Jonghyun is bored?"

Jonghyun darts her a shocked expression. "You know my name?"

Jessica lets out a snicker. "Why, of course! Isn't this party for you and the SHINee members?" 

"Well, yeah..."

"But don't flatter yourself. We only came cause we were forced by manager-oppa." She jokes, facing the bartender to order a drink, then back at Jonghyun to give him a wink.

Jonghyun does this gesture as if his heart was broken. "Ouch, Jessica. That hurts!" He jokes along.

"That's Jessica-noona to you, my dear."

An hour passes by and both of them found themselves drowned in stomach-hurting, cheek-tiring, eye-wrinkling laughter.

Jonghyun found himself observing her traits and features during their conversation.

He loves the way her eyes form in the shape of a crescent when she laughs, he loves the way she ilts her head backwards in heavy laughter, he loves how she pouts when he jokes about her 'ideal guy', Daniel Henney ("Yah, don't drag Daniel-oppa into this!"). He loves the way her hair bounces when she slips it like, like in a hair commercial.

He simply loves her.

It's 3 AM and neither Jonghyun nor Jessica realize they've been sharing stories and jokes with each other for four solid hours. Well, I guess time flies when you're enjoying.

"I hate to break this little love-fest, but Sica-unnie and the rest of us have got to go." Yuri interrupts.

Neither Jonghyun nor Jessica wanted to end their conversation. They've become really close companions in a matter of hours. Close enough to call each other 'best friends'? Maybe not. Close enough to say he's fallen in love with her? Maybe yes.

For a person who's not that open, she's opened up quite well to him. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she just trusts him. As simple as that. Sure, he looked like the 'playboy-type' her umma and appa always warn her about, but there's something different about Kim Jonghyun.

"I'll see you later, Jonghyun-ssi." She bids goodbye, but not before giving him a peck on the cheek.

Jonghyun closes his eyes as he registers in his headwhat just happened. He could feel his heart skip a beat and his cheeks turn a delicate pink. And the only thing he could think of was,

"Jessica-noona, I hope you felt the same way."
