Photo Freeze

Description

It's one of those days when Jiyong takes a trip down memory lane. Digging deep into his closet for a pair of black dress shoes, he encounters a large plastic binder with the letters "THE photo album" printed in Seungri's obnoxiously fat writing. He insisted that the emphasized 'THE' would add effect to make the album more special, and we all believed him. I smiled at the snap shot photo taped right underneath it, showing my 4 best friends and I connecting 'V' signs together to form a poorly made star. A little browsing couldn't hurt.

Foreword

A/N: I've noticed a lot of angsty fics while browsing the internet, so I decided to make a light hearted one instead. This will be a chaptered story made up of little segments of the bigbang members growing up together. With a bit of gri and todae to boost.

Jiyong's POV

I blew the dust off of album briefly while wincing when some of the specks managed to find its way into my eye. Ignoring the small delay, I flipped open the book to the first page and watched my heart flutter at the younger versions of the 5 of us that seem so far away now. In the photo we were all sitting in a small circle, splattering the floor and each other's faces with playdoh; distracting me momentarily from the fresh bruises and unkempt flyaway hair sticking up all over the place. The scene may have looked cute to another's perspective, making them go 'awe' and move on to the next. But to me, the picture was so much more different then just a couple moments before it was taken. All thanks to Youngbae.

Age 5

Jiyong's POV

"But umma, I don't wanna go to daycare." my tiny body rolled around on the floor stubbornly, "The kids are scary there!" I said, softer then the first line I spoke as if there was someone else listening in. I laid uncared for as my mom stuffed an extra pair of pants into my Winnie the pooh back-pack in case of 'accidents'. Man, those were the worse.

"Non sense Jiyong, I'm sure you'll make lots of friends, You know the kids you meet now are going to be your friends for life?" she reasoned, brushing hair from my eyes with a tired smile. I pouted to show her that I thought otherwise.

"Your a mom, that's what you're SUPPOSED to say"

"You're right, so can you please let me do my job in peace?"

I rolled my eyes before latching myself onto the bedpost closest in reach "Nothing will make me go"

You can bet that within the next couple seconds I was dragged kicking and screaming with my panda plushy snuggled tightly under my arm and bag slung over my mom's shoulder on the way to the car.

*later*

"-and remember to give him some milk before nap time so he wouldn't get nightmares." My mom finished up at the secretary, who only smiled encouragingly as I shot betrayed looks towards her in my mother's arms.

"YAH! Don't leave me!" I squirmed within the stranger's grip as my mom handed me towards her. Now they were going to package me and send me off for slavery. Or worse, to the kid's playhouse.

"Love you, bye!" Was all she called out before mouthing an 'I'm so sorry' towards one of the workers who rushed in to help restrain me. I clutched onto my Panda bear tightly as one of them cradled me to the glass doors that displayed a scene of utter chaos. there I was dumped and dead-bolted in the sea of children.

The room was painted multi coloured , that or the kids were let loose with paint brushes considering the higher areas of the wall was left bare. The floor had puzzle piece foam mats covering every inch of danger there was to prevent from tripping, though some people found it as a play toy to displace every single piece there was, only to be roughly put back by the baggy eyed daycare workers who got way too little pay to be dealing with this.

I spun around at least 5 times before something set up across the room began shining in my mind, a miniature house that screamed 'safety haven' to me. My instincts made my body dive head first towards the building happily, only to slam right into the plastic door that just wouldn't budge. Angrily I rubbed the spot on my forehead and banged 3 times on the door.

1 minute later, the window popped open revealing a small boy who couldn't be older then I was with bangs sprawled all over his face and eyes poking out that all but resembled a panda's. I squeezed my stuffy to make sure it was still with me and not transformed into a human version of it. It was.

The boy cleared his throat and inspected me with his eyes, "No babies allowed!" he boomed out in the mature voice that didn't suit his age at all. My eyes hardened at the word 'baby', who did he think he was?

"I'm no baby!" I protested, "How old are YOU anyway?"

he smirked at my come back, holding his head high and closing his panda eyes before saying: "I'm three!"

"well I'm 5! ha! beat you, now let me in"

his pride faltered as he wondered what went wrong. "Only babies carry stuffed animals though!"

I cringed then hugged Panda close to my chest, "What's wrong with having toys?"

"They are for immature 1 year olds!" he stuck out his tongue then slammed the window in my face as if that made all the sense in the world. It didn't, so it wasn't good enough for me.

"Yah! I passed your test! Let me in!" I kicked the house multiple times before he finally opened the window again with an annoyed expression. "First come first serve!"

While he was taunting happily at me from his spot, I've already gotten the door unlocked and climbed right in. His surprised face filled me up with joy as he tried to make sense of it all.

"But...You can't! YOU CAN'T COME IN!"

"Well too bad" I dismissed, plopping down in one of the mini chairs and smugly started to groom my little panda. 'Don't let it get to you, he's just jealous of our love' I spoke softly towards it.

"Yeah right! Stuffies can't protect you from anything, it's just a sac of cotton" The boy reasoned, although I wasn't exactly sure what 'cotton' was. I still felt offended. Getting up out of my seat, I stomped towards his figure that was still facing out the window and slammed my doll onto his back. The impact was soft and short, but it was enough to make him collide face first into the plastic house wall and knock all the wind from his body. When he stood, his eyes were dark and his lips showed no sign of emotion. Though he was only 3, he towered over me hauntingly making him look much older then he was at the moment, much too tall...

Seunghyun's (TOP) POV

I casually strolled around the room, occasionally blowing flicks of hair from my forehead just for something to do. This was my 5th day in daycare and I've made no effort to make friends whatsoever and it hasn't been working out very well at all. Everyone already has their groups and I don't think they would like to accept outsiders. Everyone except for a smiling young boy sitting in the corner with a deck of colorful cards out in front of him, as if he got joy by just looking at them.

I found myself approaching him that moment, his smile never leaving his face when he looked up at me, beckoning me to join him on the floor. I complied grudgingly and inspected the cards he has laid out in front of him.

"What are these" I asked, though not really caring.

"POKEMON CARDS!" He spoke with all too much excitement, I would have been genuinely surprised by his voice if I wasn't so bored. I just shrugged, still not knowing anything about the cards.

"You mean you don't know pokemon?" I nodded briefly, looking for a way to distract myself other then looking directly at the boy. I was never good at staring. But I could tell by his voice that he was flabbergasted.

"Well you must have had a dull childhood" I wiped my head at him, getting a good look for the first time. His face resembled a cat, his smile was so wide that his eyes completely disappeared from view. It was rather cute. Instead of  smiling back at him however, I scowled. "What's so good about a bunch of cards with" I took a closer look, "Gross! are those mutants!"

No sign to offense was on his features as he shook his head "NOPE! They're pokemon! It's super fun!"

I looked at him doubtfully, "How can a bunch of pictures be fun?"

"Why don't you try it?"

I shook my head in disdain, "Games like this are so immature, I'm too old for this."

"NO ONE'S TOO OLD FOR POKEMON"

I winced at his loudness once again. Was I ever going to get this pest off my case?

"Fine... Just one game..."

"Ok!"

*one game later*

"AHAHAHA! I BEAT YOU! I BEAT YOU AHAHAHA"

Daesung was no longer smiling as I danced around wildly at my victory.

"You barely followed the rules-"

"BUT I WON! AHAHAHAHAHA"

"You're pokemon weren't even that good..."

"IN YOUR FACE"

"I let you go first!"

I stuck my tongue out, "meh-rong!" I shouted at him, turning back into age 4 instead of 6

Eyes no longer happy, the boy pouted. "Whatever, you're just a fat bully."

I stopped smiling then, turning to look at him with my sharp stare, "What?"

"You heard me, fat."

It was no longer fun times anymore, it was personal. I continued to drill him with my stare as my cheeks hottened up. I could tell he was sensing something bad was happening as well, because he abandoned his cards then, scrabbling up with fear written all over his features. "H-hey..." He tried. But I was no longer listening.

"WAHHHHHH, MONSTER COMING!" Daesung was tripping over blocks and pushing other kids over in his attempt to escape my presence. He went as far as to completely tip over a miniature playhouse right on top of some unfortunate braided hair kid who was just at the wrong place at the wrong time eating vanilla ice cream. More than that, the house revealed two boys literally strangling each other in the fashion I would have gladly done to the smiling fool. One underneath the other smacking him upside the head with a panda bear, and the other shaking his shoulders violently. This distracted both me and Daesung from our previous dilemma to watch the fight. No one noticed the squashed ice cream boy crawl out from underneath the tower.

"Hey you guys..." I heard the braided kid speak for the first time. ignoring the ice cream splatter on his shirt like it was no big deal.

"STOP HITTING ME"

"You guys shouldn't fight like that, think of our parents..." he tried

"GET AWAY FROM ME MONSTER"

"That's not nice..."

"UGH"

"JUST STOP IT!" All four of our attention were directed at the bruised child, probably the most mature out of all of us. He sighed, tears from the accident and the overwhelming situation finally coming. He turned away from us and sprinted out of the playroom, out into the hallway of the daycare.

Jiyong's POV

I was in the middle of hitting the other boy several times with my plushy before a new light shined on us when we realized that the house was no longer overcasting the fight, it was tipped on its side and a small yelp was heard from right underneath. But that only momentarily stalled us from ripping the other's throat out.

I remember voices were spoken and cries were made but the only thing that could hold my attention was the fiery eyed young male on top of me. He seemed to fight me with a passion. If I wasn't in terrible pain I would congratulate him.

"JUST STOP IT" I blinked and I found him rolling off of me out of surprise. Instead of taking advantage of the situation to target him back, I looked up at the scene around me. A thin eyed male with dark hair sticking up in all directions was quivering a few feet away from a much taller kid with looks that could kill. But the one that spoke was neither of them, it was a boy with thickly braided hair and a goo that looked alot like ice cream smeared all over his shirt. His eyes were red after he shouted and turned around immediatly only to disappear into the hallway of the daycare. Though movement did not pause all around, the 4 of us did as we watched him run out. No one was sure what to make of it.

"Hey wait!" The smiley one first called out with no response in return. Then he began running after him. Next followed the smoky eyed boy. One by one we escaped from the colorful room and into the empty and bleak halls after the crying youngster. It wasn't until we arrived at a dead end with only a gigantic window overlooking the setting sun when we stopped. We looked at the glow in awe, nothing but sniffles were heard until he rubbed his nose on his sleeve and looked back at us with a smile much too great for us to deserve.

"I come here to think sometimes, when things get out of hand. The sun calms me down." He explained joyfully as the rest of us continued to stare out the window. "It really makes you forget your troubles doesn't it?"

I found myself looking at the 3 year old boy now, his dark circles highlighting his face that made him look more angelic then it should have. He turned towards me as well, then mustered a small grin.

"Look, I forgive you."

"For what? It was your fault" My previous fury began to spark despite the soothing sunset. When I noticed my peers around me give me harsh looks, I looked down in spite of myself. "Sorry..."

The sun took its time going from the bright blue sky to disappearing behind the horizon. It looked like it belonged in a cheesy movie, at exactly the part where the reunited lovers exchanged their 'I love you's and the credits roll. That, or maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic. Perhaps both.

The tallest one began to cough as the light dimmed into an unpleasant dark blue."Well.... that was dumb, I'm leaving."

"ohhhhh! You said a bad word!"

"Shut up Seungri" I scolded

"Ohhh! You said a-"

By now, no one was left to listen. The group of us started to head back, heart feeling lighter then when we first discovered the hide-out.

*********************************

For the couple of months that we were stuck in daycare, we would gather there regularly. When we were feeling low, when we were sick, or just needed the company of the sunset. I learned the names of all my newly aquired friends, and I guess my mom was right. The kids you meet when you are young would be your friends for life. I grinned happily as I turned the next page.

A/N: Well I spent a good portion of my day writing this. I know it isn't all that good, but I hope to improve the chapters as the characters age :). Patience~
