Wednesday
Monday to Sunday
Our first kiss was on a Wednesday. We took everything as slow as could be. I had bad relationships in the past, and I didn’t want to
mess anything up with you.
“Is that everything?” I wiped the sweat from my face and plopped down on the bed. You walked in with a box, probably half your size
and almost your weight. “I-I thin-k so.”, you grunted. Chuckling I got up and took it from you, easily putting it up in your closet. I helped
you move the things out of your house and into your new dorm. The only bad thing about going to college was that we got accepted into
different ones. You were accepted into Chugye University, and I ended up in Kyunghee. I was too proud of you to even think about the
distance. Oh well, at least we were both still in Seoul.
“Have you met your dorm mate yet?” I asked. You were crossed legged on the floor, going through a box of books. “I did. Her name is
Minah, she’s pretty nice.” I nodded, at least you got along with her. Slipping off the bed I sprawled out on the ground next to you and laid
my head in your lap.
You giggled, “Thank you for helping me move in.” I smiled brightly as you ran your hand through my hair. “No problem.” I held onto
your hand and brought it to my lips, kissing your palm, “I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my day.” Your eyes sparkled and before I
could say anything else my phone rang. It was Peniel, probably wondering why I wasn’t helping put all the things up in our new
apartment.
We grouped up with two other guys that we met at orientation. Splitting the rent four ways would definitely be easier and our parents
agreed to it. I grumbled and took out my phone. You continued to play with my hair as I answered. “Yoboseyo?”
“Unless you want us to distribute your things amongst ourselves, I suggest you get here soon. Hyunsik and Changsub already dug
through some of your boxes.” I groaned, “Noooo~”, I kicked the air, “That’s not cool!” You tilted your head in confusion as I whined.
“Their taking my stuff.” I pouted, “I’ll be there in a minute.” I told him.
We both sighed when I hung up. It was bound to happen, not being able to see each other every second of everyday but, it was worth
it. It would be even more exciting when we would get together. “I have to go.”, I let out a breath. I jumped up and your clung to my leg
until I lifted you up. “This .”, you rested your head on my chest.
“I know, I know.” I hugged you tightly and leaned against the door frame.
With the door open I could see that there were plenty of other people moving in as well. “But, we’ll get to see each other on weekends,
and on days we don’t have class.” , I suggested, “We’ll figure something out okay baby?” You nodded, giving out a sigh. “Oh, before you
leave!” You let go of me and ran to one of the drawers. “What is it?” I asked. “Just wait!” you dug through, ruining the hours of organizing
you spent. My attention was taken away when I heard snickering across the hall. Two guys, both in sweatpants and black muscle shirts
were whispering and stealing glances at you. I clenched my fist, wondering if they even saw me standing there.
What surprised me even more was when the dark-haired one called your name. You looked up and smiled, “Minhyuk!” I looked at you
in disbelief. “How’s the little fishy adjusting?”, asked the blonde, with a smirk. Walking back, you stood next to me and linked our arms.
“I’m doing just fine thank you.” , you stuck your tongue out.
“Ilhoon, this is Minhyuk and Eunkwang. They’re going to be my lovely neighbors.” you rolled your eyes playfully, “Guys, this is my
boyfriend Ilhoon.” Still with a strong face I nodded at them. They felt the tension settle in and awkwardly excused themselves, going back
to sit on their beds. “So.” I coughed lightly, “When is Minah coming?”
“Oh, she’s not moving in until tomorrow.” you said.
“Wait, so you’re staying here by yourself? With…those two right across the hall?” I said lowly. “Ilhoon.” you began. I held up a finger,
“I’m just…I’m not comfortable with that.” You frowned, “Do you not trust me?” I sighed, “No, it’s not that baby…” I held your hands, “I
just.” Without a second thought I cupped your face and kissed you.
I’ll admit, half of the reason was because I wanted those two to see that you were mine, and only mine. The other was just for the
simple fact that I wanted to. It was perfect, albeit not the best setting but you didn’t hesitate with me. I felt you smile, “Well someone’s
jealous.”, you giggled. I pouted and pecked your lips, “You expect me not to be?”
“Oh ew, hey none of that.” We turned to see Eunkwang grimacing while Minhyuk pretended to smother himself with a pillow. You
giggled, dismissing their behavior. “I’ll be fine.”, you brought my attention back to you, “Okay?” I frowned, hearing my phone ring again.
“Now go before the guys start calling dibs on your stuff.” I face palmed, “Ah, right! Okay…if you need anything, you know you can call
and I’ll run over here.”
You nodded, “I will.” I sighed, “Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow then.” I hugged you tightly and was about to turn and leave but you held on
to my arm. “Wait.” You shyly held out a thin white box. “What is this?” I smiled. “Open it.” Smiling, I took off the top and laughed. It was a
silver picture frame that had ‘Best Friends' at the top left hand corner followed by a heart.
The picture was black and white. It was from our last year of high school, the day before we got together. “I have one too.”, you said
red-faced. I smiled brightly, “I love it.”
My phone rang for the third time and I closed the box back up, “I’ll put it on my nightstand. Thank you baby.” I hugged you again.
You still held on to me, “What?” I asked. “Are you okay?” You pouted, “You finally kiss me and think that it’s okay to just leave without
doing it again?” I tried not to laugh, “Are you serious?” I played around with you just or a second, I thought it was so cute seeing you
worked up over this. “Well, yes!” you stomped your foot, “You think I didn’t like it? Il-”
I kissed you again, making you shut up mid-sentence. I heard Eunkwang and Minhyuk groan again and I covered the sides of our
faces with my hand. It felt like time literally stopped, considering people did stop moving and watched for a second or two. Oh well, at
least they knew you were taken. “Okay.” I slowed down our kisses, hearing the phone ring yet again. “Give me that!” you dug in my
pocket and answered my phone. “Peniel, Ilhoon and I are making out, so please stop calling and don’t touch his things or I will kill you!”,
you threatened.
I let out a laugh and ruffled your hair, “Oh…okay then, I’m sorry. Bye.” You pressed your lips together and handed it back to me. “He
wants you to pick up some milk on your way home.”, you said blankly. I shook my head, “Okay, I guess I have to go this time." Locking
our lips again I back walked you back into your dorm.
I tickled your sides and kissed your forehead, “Good night princess.” You blushed and pecked my cheek, “Sleep well oppa.” you
beamed. I waited until you shut the door and happily turned around, only to be met with Eunkwang and Minhyuk as they once again
stood at their door.
“Look,” began Minhyuk, “I can tell you aren’t too fond of us, but trust us when we say that we aren’t going to try anything. We know
she’s your girlfriend and honestly we like her as just a friend. We think of her as a younger sister really.” Eunkwang nodded, “We really
mean it. We aren’t bad guys…” He stuck his hand out as a truce.
Okay, maybe I judged them too quickly. After a second of rethinking I shook his hand and did the same with Minhyuk. “We cool?” he
asked. I nodded, “Sorry, I’m just trying to get adjusted to not seeing her a lot. I should know that she’s going to make friends and all
stuff.”, I sighed. “Don’t worry, from the way she talks about you I’m sure that nothing will get in the way.” I chuckled, “I hope so, well I’m
going to take off. I’ll see you two around.” I waved as I walked down the hall, rolling my eyes when I heard my phone ring…again.
