How It Began, How It'll Continue
Description
“Good afternoon, sir. I’m Choi Sooyoung, chef and owner of Casa.” Her tone was friendly, approachable yet very professional. “I was told that you are asking for me. What can I do for you?”
If he noticed that she was relatively young to own a restaurant of her own, he didn’t show it… His half or three-fourths covered face could probably be thanked for that. “Bacon, olive oil, garlic, onion, button mushroom, cherry brandy, thyme, salt, black pepper, ground pork, chicken, pistachio, parsley, egg…”
Sooyoung blinked; her surprise mirroring in her features. Though his plate was now empty, she knew he had ordered a Pork and Chicken Terrine, if the sudden enumeration of the ingredients in the recipe wasn’t enough indication of that. “What…”
“I know there’s one more ingredient… I just can’t put a finger on it.” The stranger fell silent, racking his brain for the last missing ingredient.
“It’s nutmeg.” She offered softly. “I’m sorry but how did you know the ingredients for my terrine?”
“Let’s just say I have a lot of experience with food.” He smiled… or at least she thought he was, considering how covered his face was. Much to her surprise yet again, he held out a hand. “Kim Jaejoong. It’s nice to meet such a young and talented woman like you, Sooyoung-ssi.”
The brunette shook his hand, hoping and praying that she wasn’t blushing. “It’s nice to meet someone who knows a lot about food, Jaejoong-ssi.”
