"Ha...ha..." Taemin tried his best to warm Key's hands with his breath, rubbing his hands together to create friction and heat. Taemin had given his thick jacket to Kibum, but Kibum was not warming up. In fact, he looked worse by the minute. 'This is a horrible Christmas Eve...'

  "I'm sorry! I shouldn't have fought with you just because you were hugging Jonghyun-hyung!" Taemin apologized for the third time, regretting that he started a fight and chased Key out of the empty dorm. He was glad he felt guilty and decided to follow, for Key did not bring a jacket with him and was literally starting to freeze in the snow. When he found Kibum at the park bench alone, it was too late.

  It was so cold. Taemin didn't know what to do. Key's hands were as cold as ice, and his lips look purple. "Please hang on, hyung!" Taemin whispered frantically to Key, but Key was shaking so much that he could not even nod in reply. Though after a moment, Key took a shaky breath and said in a raspy voice. "Drop the 'hyung'." He complained weakly, but Taemin could not even giggle at Key's pout. He was in a wreak. His only string to the world was disappearing.

  Taemin tried to carry Key and bring him to a place where there was warmth or treatment, but Key stopped him with a shake of his head.

  "Kibum, we need to get help! You..."

  "Ah, hearing my name on your lips, I feel better already."

  "Kim Kibum! You do not look any better! Your lips are going purple! We have to-"

  "In here, Taemin." At that, Key touched his heart. 

   "My heart beats faster when I hear you say my name, when you hug me so close to you, when you express your concern. You are my angel. I don't want a frowning or upset angel, so lets forgive about the fights we ever had." Kibum touched Taemin's face gently with his ice cold fingers. Usually Taemin would lean into Key's touch, but this time, due to the cold in Key's fingertips, he flinched away.

  "I love you Taemin. You were my sunshine, my grey clouds, my world. Stop lying to ourselves;we both know that its too late for me. Move on Taemin, but only after you tell me if you really love me. That is all I ever ask for. Don't dwell in the past because of me..." Frozen tears slid down his cheeks, as Key tried to catch his breath.

  The beating of my heart till my death is for you. I love you, Key, so much that it hurts. I promise you that everything would be fine. You won't...d-die." Taemin clutched onto Key desperately as Key slowly became limp.

  "Heh, I'm glad you really love me, it means a lot to me. I guess this is goodbye..?" Key sounded uncertain, scared to leave his Taemin in this world, alone. But then he remembered that Taemin had SHINee, and the members would take care of Taemin for him. He smiled at the thought, reassured. Just then the clock tower went off, 'DONG DONG', signaling that it was 12am, officially Christmas.

  "Merry Christmas, Taemin." Those were Kim Kibum's last words as he shut his eyes, entering an eternal sleep, frozen in the snow.

  Taemin held Kibum in his arms, shock causing him unable to respond. He blinked, and tears rolled down his cheekbones, freezing at his cheeks. He felt a chill that was certainly not caused by the temperature, and he started sobbing loudly, Key's face, and then when he composed himself, he gave Key a gentle kiss, soft as snow.

  He gave Key a tight embrace, and whispered to the pure, white, chilling snow.

                   "Merry Christmas to you too."
