MinYoung was a Korean teenager forced to live in America. Her lousy school work makes her foster parents send her to a summer school camp. There she meets three other girls that came to stick to her for the rest of her life. The camp with speicla trained leaders and teachers are supposed to help them get their self-confidence back, but there is something else on that camp that seems to help the youths more than anything...

Introdution

- Why can’t you just leave me alone?!
- But sweetie, we just want to help you.
- Help me? By sending me to a psychic home!? Wow, you really want to help…!

MinYoung shut the door with a hard movement before Laura got the time to speak up again. Her little room surrounded her again. The walls with posters of Big Bang, Super Junior, and DBSK smiled at her or gave her charismatic glances.

MinYoung was born in South Korea, but was sent to the U.S. when her parents staged their own death. Only MinYoung knew that they were still alive, she could feel it. But since everyone else believed in the story they got told, MinYoung had to be sent to the U.S. Her dad was from U.S.A. and her mother didn’t have any relatives in life, so her only option according to the government was to be sent to the U.S. to live with her sick aunt. MinYoung was nine years old when the “death of her parents” took place, and she didn’t like the idea of going to the States back then more than she did six years later.

Two months after MinYoung came to America, her aunt died from the disease and MinYoung was left once again all alone with no one she neither knew nor trusted. They put her in foster care and she was sent out to different families who wanted to try having her for some time. Neither of them could stand her: she cried all through the nights because of nightmares from the longing after her parents and getting the feeling of great home-sick.

During the days she wouldn’t talk. Sure she understood English quite well, but she refused to talk. In the beginning everyone thought it would get better when she got used to the new environment and the language, but they were wrong. MinYoung just got worse. Though she then, at the age of 15, didn’t cry from the nightmares she got, she still didn’t want to talk and use English.

In school she didn’t have any friends since she didn’t talk. Many of the guys bugged her, and the girls laughed at her when she fell to he ground since the guys’ hits were too powerful for her to take. He foster parents were of course worried for her and tried to get help for her. MinYoung didn’t want help though, all she wanted was to go home to Korea, to the streets she played in, the food, her friends that she played around with, even the mean old man in the end of the street. She remembered it all.

And today Laura, her new “mum”, had told her that they were sending her to a special home for “youths like her” for some time! They always said they just wanted to help her, but can’t they do as she asks them to? To let her go home, why can’t they…?
