I quickly glanced left and right before stepping out into the road.

I didn't see the car speeding towards me and I'm sure the driver didn't see me either.

It was like the whole world stopped for a moment, time slowed down with every heart beat. I could've moved, I screamed at myself to move but my legs felt like heavy lead weights. I was stuck in the middle of the road, about to be hit by a car and there wasn't anything I could do about it.
