You remember why I agreed to those monthly therapy sessions with Dr. Shrink, right? It's the deal I made with my mom so she'd let me live alone. And now, here I am, chilling in the most expensive penthouse in the country, Sutherland Towers.

I caught a glimpse of the Chairwoman of Sutherland Group once, and sure, she was stunning. But too young for me and there was something about her, an icy demeanor that made her seem intimidating. She exuded this cold, distant vibe that was kind of scary, to be honest. 

And personally, I don't have a thing towards scary ladies--- like that girl from the club, Irene.

Also, when it comes down to it, nobody holds a candle to my Joohyun.

Speaking of Joohyun, I haven't seen her since that day. Makes me wonder if she's some sort of angel, and our meeting was just a figment of my imagination.

Ha, I sound crazy even thinking about it.

Anyway, just woke up and before I could even stretch, my phone starts buzzing like crazy.

I glanced at the Caller ID. Ugh, of course, it's mom.

"Hey, mom!" I greeted cheerfully.

Gotta love her, even if she's always on my case about therapy. Without her, I wouldn't be living this lavish lifestyle.

"Darling, there's a party at the Churchill Mansion tonight at 7pm... Please, come! And for once, dress appropriately, understood?" Mom's voice came through.

I couldn't help but chuckle. "Mom, when have I ever embarrassed you? You know how beautiful and y your daughter is, right?" I teased.

I could practically hear her groan on the other end.

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding... Of course, I'll dress appropriately. Is a t-shirt and jeans okay?" I teased again.

"SEULG!"

I burst out laughing. "Chill, mom... I'm just messing with you!" I reassured her.

"You just love stressing me out, don't you?!" Mom complained.

"Of course, you're my mom!" I replied with a grin.

"Alright, I have to go now. See you later, sweetheart!" Mom said.

"See you later, mom!" I replied before hanging up.

After my call with Mom, I checked my watch and realized it was still early, so I decided to grab lunch near the Sutherland Towers. It's a prime area, perfect for people-watching and enjoying good food. As expected, the restaurants here are top-notch, catering to the wealthy clientele.

I spotted my favorite restaurant and headed inside. While scanning for a table, I noticed Joohyun. There was no mistaking her this time—her beautiful, innocent smile hadn't changed a bit. But what caught my attention next wasn't as pleasant. A tall, good-looking guy kissed her cheek.

I couldn't help but frown at the sight. Was he her boyfriend? The thought bothered me more than it should have.

Sure, he looked decent, but he was nothing special compared to me. At least, that's what I told myself as I continued watching them from afar.

Gathering up my courage, I stood tall and confident. This was a moment I couldn't let pass by—I might never get another chance to see her again after this.

Approaching Joohyun and the guy with her, I greeted them with a bright, innocent smile. "Hi Joohyun!"

Joohyun seemed startled, a cute little flinch betraying her surprise. I couldn't help but chuckle at her adorable reaction.

However, her response wasn't quite what I expected. "Hmm... Excuse me, but do you know me?" she replied innocently.

I felt a twinge of offense, but before I could respond, I noticed something change in her expression. Suddenly, her face lit up, as if a lightbulb had gone off in her head. Once again, she was just too cute for words.

"Milo's mom!" Joohyun exclaimed.

I couldn't help but laugh. Of course, she remembered me—not as Seulgi, but as Milo the bearoo's mom.

"Yes, that's me! Milo's mom... Seulgi!" I replied, reaffirming my name.

The guy with Joohyun looked confused, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. No man was needed here, that's for sure.

"Yeah... Seulgi... Nice to see you again... This is my fiancé, Jun-myeon," Joohyun said, smiling.

"F-Fiancé what?!?" My heart skipped a beat at her words, and I struggled to maintain my composure.

"Hey, Miss... What's with the big reaction?" Jun-myeon said smugly, his tone laced with arrogance.

I fought the urge to glare at him. I couldn't risk making a bad impression on Joohyun.

Time to switch on my acting skills again.

"Ohh... I was just shocked that Joohyun is already engaged..." I replied smiling, suppressing the urge to add, "To someone with a smug face like you."

But Joohyun was too sweet for this annoying guy.

That Jun-myeon guy is giving me a weird stare... I can't quite pinpoint what it is, but it's creeping me out...

"So, Miss Seulgi... why don't you join us for lunch?" he said, exuding an irritating confidence.

Ugh, I want to vomit. He's exactly the type of guy I hate the most. The kind who thinks every girl wants him. Disgusting.

"Will I be imposing, Joohyun?" I asked, turning to her and completely ignoring Jun-myeon.

"Oh no, of course not... Please, have a seat," Joohyun replied politely.

Of course, I sat beside Joohyun, and oh my god, she smells incredible.

She exudes a delicate scent of honey and freesia—sweet, but not overpowering. It's just the right balance of sweetness that could make anyone fall for it.

"You smell good, Joohyun..." I whispered, just loud enough for her to hear.

I saw her taken aback for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure—although her flushed red ears betrayed her.

"So cute..." I chuckled.

"Uhm... What do you want to have? Junmyeon and I have already ordered..." Joohyun said.

My god, even her voice sounded so sweet. I wonder how it feels like to have someone with that sweet voice wake you up every day...

I smiled like an idiot.

"Seulgi... Seulgi..." I snapped back to reality at Joohyun's calling.

"I-uhh... I'd like to have what you're having..." I said, smiling.

During lunch, I could feel Junmyeon's eyes on me, but I couldn't care less.

"So, Seulgi, where'd you meet Joohyun?" Junmyeon asked.

"We met at Apex Clinic," I replied nonchalantly.

"So, you're crazy too?" He laughed.

Now, I glared at him.

"Excuse me?" I said, my tone cold.

But before Junmyeon could reply, Joohyun spoke up.

"Junmyeon, that's rude... Going to a psychiatrist doesn't make one crazy... Say sorry to Seulgi..." Joohyun's voice remained sweet and polite, yet there was a subtle firmness in her tone that commanded attention.

Junmyeon, caught off guard by Joohyun's response, paused for a moment before offering a sheepish apology. "Oh, sorry... I didn't mean it that way. My bad, Seulgi."

I nodded in acknowledgment.

There was something in Joohyun's response though that struck me as odd. With what Junmyeon said, he outright called Joohyun crazy too... But why didn't Joohyun call him out for it? Instead, she simply asked him to apologize to me.

It left me pondering, wondering about the dynamics between Joohyun and Junmyeon. Was there something I was missing, some underlying tension or understanding between them that I couldn't grasp? Or was Joohyun simply choosing her battles wisely, prioritizing harmony over confrontation in that moment?

I excused myself to go to the bathroom, hoping for a moment of reprieve from Junmyeon's presence.
