Description
[For Chapter 1:] A long time has passed since Cass stopped being a lady-in-waiting for Princess Rapunzel and struck out on her own. She left the Kingdom of Corona behind as an independent woman after she was manipulated by Zhan Tri into hurting Raps and her friends. She wanted to figure out her own life and left Raps live the way she wanted. She couldn't bear to see Raps anymore after everything she did, thinking about the awful things she had done every time she saw her. Shortly thereafter, she joined crew of space pirates. In the process, she fell in love with a 19-year-old charismatic, striking captain, Marika. One day, Cass hears an unexpected voice on one of the ship's machines, pleading for help. Although she is unsure if she wants to burden others with her troubled past, Marika convinces her to go on an unexpected mission to Corona. An eventful reunion with a princess she once loved awaits Cass while the invisible virus, which has caused a crisis in Corona, has put Raps in jeopardy.
[For Chapter 2:] After a mask mandate and lockdown are imposed in the Kingdom of Corona, in response to a contagious "invisible" virus spreading, citizens are restless and hostile toward Raps, as their sovereign. Varian vows to stay behind and help the citizenry, while Raps leaves. She wants to clear her head. Later, while her sketchbook dries, she wades into a stream and falls in thanks to tremors from a nearby spaceship landing. A decorated lieutenant, and accomplished space pirate, comes to save her. The woman has a familiar face, with her mahogany pigment shining in the sun. Its none other than Cass. After meeting Cass's new pirate girlfriend, the captain of a massive spacefaring vessel, Raps makes a far-reaching decision which will impact not only Cass and her girlfriend, but herself and the people of Corona thereafter.

Foreword
[before chapter 1:] I had the idea for this fic floating around for a while and although I finished this earlier this year, I originally wanted to publish it on Cassunzel Week. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. I never had the wherewithal to finish it until I divided it into various chapters, which I have done here, as this is chapter 1 of that story. To make sure that Cass and Marika can be together and still follow the "Half Your Age Plus 7" relationship rule, Marika's age has been bumped up from 17 to 19, while Cass is age 24, her age at the end of season 3, when they first meet each other. This means that Marika was 19 years old when she met Cass. For this story, Cass is 25 years old, and Marika is 20 years old, as it is set one year after Cass and Marika met each other.
[before chapter 2:] Sorry that it's been over two years since my last update! I really wanted to publish this a while ago, but a lot was happening in my life. There were preparations for a trip to Italy throughout 2022, even as I still wrote eight fics (like those in the High Guardian Space series) primarily at the beginning and end of the year. And then I moved into a new place in March 2023. With that on top of job stresses, it took until the end of last year for things to settle down. When I wrote the first chapter in December 2021, I had no idea about what was going to happen in the years ahead. I may end up writing a third part. This chapter sets the stage for a possible third part. As a reminder, in this story, Cass is a Black woman.
