Birthday Catastrophe
Birthday Catastrophe"It's okay Hyukkie! Renting a whole zoo would've been too much anyways! And writing the wrong date on invitations happens all the time."
"But I wanted your birthday to be perfect!"
People always said Donghae was the romantic, but people didn't know Hyukjae as well as Donghae did.
Donghae took hold of Hyukjae's hand and squeezed, smiling even as Hyukjae grumbled darkly about autocorrect and damn zoo holidays.
"Really, Hyuk, don't worry about it. I'm sorry that today didn't go as planned but..."
Donghae leans into Hyukjae's side and closes his eyes.
"I'm actually kind of glad it didn't work out. I'd rather spend a whole day doing nothing with you than having a big party with everyone."
Hyukjae flushes darkly, silent for a moment as he stares at how content Donghae is clinging to his arm.
"But I even lost your present..."
"Doesn't matter to me, things are just things. As long as you're beside me, that's all I need."
Hyukjae sighs, feeling a smile tug on his lips despite himself
"Still, I wanted today to be special. I was going to..."
Donghae opens his eyes wide, staring up innocently at Hyukjae.
"N-Nothing!"
"What? Nooo, tell me!!"
"I'll tell you next year! When I get your birthday right!"
Donghae pouts and gives his best puppy eyes, but Hyukjae won't budge.
"Fine... But you better tell me next year!"
Hyukjae smiles. "I definitely will. I promise."
