RideKatrina's P.O.V
Where the hell is dad? Ugh. I thought he's gonna fetch me here and send me to school. It's almost 7AM and I'm going to be late!
I don't really know how to ride a transportation nor speak Filipino language here. That's the struggle I've been stuck ever since our family decided to move here. I heard that school is less stressful here that's why I agreed to go with them.
But that's not the point! My only dilemma at this early morning is to get to school without being late. Aish. I really hate my parents.
Where's Kuya Jorel? I thought he's on his way? Where is he right now? Come on, It's almost 6:45 AM. It would be embarassing for a foreign student to be late on the first day of classes.
I really wanted to give up but I suddenly remember that I have a Filipino friend. I would ask her since she knows everything here in this country.
As I said, I immediately dialed Giordanne's number, hoping that the heavenly bodies would hear my prayers and get me to school on time.
"Hello? Kat? Why did you call? It's still early." Giordanne answered the phone call. Well I'm sorry for ruining your sleeping body but your bestfriend here is struggling to figure out how to ride a public transportation in a country that's new to her.
"Oh hi there, my dear friend. Your friend here's getting late on her first day of classes and there's no one to send her to school, damn god. I was just wondering if you could give me instructions on how to ride a public transportation that's fast enough to get me to our campus before 7AM." I countered. Good lord please guide me if ever this was the first and last time I'm going to ride a public transpo here in the Philippines.
I kinda trust Gio since she's the only filipino person I know here. It's not like I have any choice haha. I just hope that she's gonna teach me the right thing.
"What? I thought you have your family driver? Where's Kuya Jorel? Isn't he supposed to send you to school kanina pa?" Girl just give me the goddamn directions please I'm getting late already T_T
"Oh, come on. Stop asking for god's sake. I wouldn't bother you at this early morning if Kuya Jorel's here, right? And stop tagalog-ing me. I don't understand." I answered. She's really this pala-tanong. Don't ask me where I got that word. I just heard my parents using it and I asked what it meant.
"Okay, chill. I know a public transpo that you can take. It's a bit small though. You might not like it for your first time experience but you don't have any choice." Okay? As long as it won't kill me, I won't complain.
"Okay what is it?"
"Tricycle. It's a motorcycle but it's a lot bigger since it has a roof and a bit housing. I'm not really good at explaining but let's just get it girl." Tricycle? What is that? I don't know why but it sounds like a bicycle that has three wheels for me haha.
"I think there's a tricycle terminal outside your subdivision. Now, walk your off and get outside your subdiv. Then, follow my instructions." said Gio. God, she's talking like Mommy.
I started walking and after 5 minutes, I got out of our subdivision. I really feel skeptical about this plan but there's nothing I can do. I only have 15 minutes before 7AM.
"Gi, I'm here outside. What to do next?"
"Wow. You sure exercise a lot. You walked really fast. But here, follow me. Just walk straight until you see Mahar Street. Then, walk right to it, walk a bit more until you arrive to MARHARTODA. Then, that's it. Make sure to ride the red-colored tricycle. Send me the tricycle number before you go, ha. I'm worried." M-Mahar? What kind of name is that? Anyways, I'll just follow Gio's instructions.
"Okay okay. Thank you, Gi. And sure, I'll send you the number you're talking about. I'm also worried for my own being." I said as I ended the call.
As what Gio instructed, I got to the terminal. There's a lot of colored tricycle and I should just look for the red one. I immediately went inside and look for that specific color. Looks like there's still no red-colored tricycle here.
Do I have to wait for it to arrive? But it's already 6:50 A.M. I will be late. Ugh, nevermind. I'll ask Gi what to do since she's the one who told me to go here.
I did what Gio said. Roughly 2 minutes has passed and I saw a red tricycle on the way here. As it stopped at the terminal, I saw a female student wearing our school uniform, running to get here. Maybe she's also going to campus?
Right! I should follow her since it looks like she knows what she's doing. Also, we're going to the same school, I'm certain that she's going to make the driver stop once we reached the campus. Sorry to who this girl might be, but you're my secret tour guide! Haha I'm so silly.
I finally sat on the back seat. Don't ask why, I just followed the girl haha. The ride went pretty good. It was fast but it didn't made me feel dizzy. Plus, the fresh air is so calming. This is the only thing I want to feel everyday.
I notice that we're near our campus. How did I know? Well, I have a better eyesight and I can see from our big campus from afar. I prepared myself as we are near. Oh, I didn't notice it at first but, the girl is so cute. She's wearing glasses that it made her look so nerdy haha.
"Manong para po. Dito na lang po ako." Oh wow. The cute girl spoke. Even her voice sounds so cute yet nerdy.
