IN THE BEGINNING ...
there was only simple life. the days went by with a boring ordinary. it was mundane, it was normal, it was perfect. it was as it should've been, the before. but then something changed. it started out with an earthquake, the shaking of buildings, the cracking of the ground, the confusion and panic. but it was worldwide, not just one place. some thought it to be the end of days, but it was something much worse. it was the catastrophe that started it all. then, from nothing came something, a darkness that would overthrow the balance of everything. a tall door. the shaking stopped, the ground ceased to split. but it wasn't done. the door opened and everything was silent for a minute ... before a hand shot out from inside, green and veiny. and what followed would haunt the world forever. from then on, monsters, these creatures that seemingly only sought to destroy and devour would come from doors and cave systems all over, pillaging and and terrorizing whatever and whomever they could until one day, people began to fight back and this system reacted. the ranker system. people gained abilities, these powers that allowed them to raise above each other and the monsters that harmed them. from then on, those who had abilities were named the awakened, hunters who could battle monsters and save the day. those who weren't awakened were simply normal, and life continued on in a sort of violent harmony.
THE MIRACLE GUILD ...
the mir☆cle guild, a small guild that has somehow managed to gather the strongest of the strong, the divine nine, as people call them, in one place and take over the current ranks like a wrecking ball. people from all over whose power cannot be estimated, the legendary rankers that have kept their respective places safe from harm. the origins of the mir☆cle guild can't be traced. it appeared one day, out of the ashes of a rundown building and to the sky with rankers joining left and right. the owner of the guild is currently unknown, some suspecting that it's one of the nine, others theorizing that it's run by all of them, but nothing has been confirmed. even so, it's one of the most powerful and feared guilds right now, only second to the chaos guild located in south korea, it's rival guild.

AUTHORS NOTE ...
after reading tons of ranker novels and wanting to write my own novel about it, here's this. i wrote this up at 5 am and it probably doesn't make much sense but i love it and i'm SO excited! i know that applyfics are dominated by idolfics but i hope y'all will take some time to read this over and enjoy it!

Chapter 3: Oh the names are in there! Saebin and Jackson’s guild is called Yulong and the revenge guild is called dark river. Sorry if that wasn’t clear! I only put the names in saebin and Jackson’s relationship sections rather than the background “:D

Chapter 1: okay okay so i'm making my character right now but i've got a few questions.

so i want to make my character's main(?) ability be smth related to gambling and luck, but you said that ppl only have luck stats if they've cheated the system? i was wondering how one could cheat the system, and even if my character didn't cheat the system, could he still have luck-based abilities but maybe he just doesn't know what his luck stat is...? i do have a backup ability for him (i was going to make it just another ability he has, but it could be his main one if gambling doesn't work out LOL) but it would be less interesting LOL.

related question: do we need to have ALL the stats you listed or can we just have the ones that are related to their abilities? and what's the 'standard' (x/100, x/10, etc) for said stats? i don't usually do much with RPGs so i don't have any standards to compare against :")

i was also wondering where the story was going to go, in general. my character's backstory/motives are highly driven by revenge and i just made up a random guild that he wants revenge on, but i was sort of worried that it wouldn't fit into the story you had in mind hahaha.

ooooo this sounds so interesting! just out of curiosity, is the ranker system based on a particular book or movie? it sounds really similar to some systems in the infinite flow genre, which is popular in chinese webnovels, so i'm wondering if it comes from a similar background or smth
