Irene woke up with the sun, stretching her arms out as far as they would go. The room was still dark, but the warmth of the morning light already made its way through the curtains. She took a deep breath and exhaled, her body feeling the energy and joy of the day ahead.

She had to get ready. It was Wendy’s birthday, and Irene had promised to take her out for breakfast. She had been planning the surprise for weeks, and it was going to be perfect. Irene had even woken up half an hour earlier than usual, just so she could make sure that she was ready in time.

She the coffee machine, humming softly as she waited for it to finish. The smell of fresh coffee beans soothed her, and she thought of the previous night. They had been at a party, laughing together and taking pictures. Irene had captured every moment, and it felt like her time with Wendy was a love story made of nothing but photographs.

As she added just the right amount of sugar to her cup, she felt a wave of nostalgia wash over her. She had been friends with Wendy since forever, and she couldn’t help but feel a little bit of sadness that it was already coming to an end. 

She felt as though her heart was pounding in her chest, and she could not deny the powerful emotions that filled her every time she saw her best friend. She had been so scared of ruining their friendship if she revealed her true feelings that she had kept them hidden for far too long. But she couldn't help but wish that she had been brave enough to tell them how she truly felt.

Irene tried to drag her thoughts away from her confusing emotions and finished getting ready. She needed to focus on the present and make sure that this would be the best day
