Chapter Four

Twice One-Shots

DaTzu Ghost Hunter au

“DaTzu ghost hunters with J-Line as ghosts”

The night was dark and fog spread across the road in front of them. The two girls had been driving for over an hour outside of the city.

"How much longer is the drive ,Hyun?"

The driver checked the GPS and the estimated arrival time.

"Just 20 more minutes, Tzu."

Dahyun looked over at her partner briefly before fixing her eyes back on the road. Safety first, she thought. No matter how beautiful she thought the girl beside her was, she needed to focus. Not just on the road but on the job at hand.

Tzuyu and Dahyun met by chance when they were teenagers. Dahyun wasn't paying attention to where she was walking and ran right into the taller girl.

Since then the two girls have been inseparable. They found out they went to the same school and nothing was stopping them from spending as much time as they possibly could together.

It was Tzuyu's 16th birthday when their first encounter occurred. Dahyun had surprised Tzuyu at her home with a homemade cake. They spent all night watching scary movies and eating snacks at Tzuyu's request. Nothing was out of the ordinary.

It wasn't until they laid down in Tzuyu's bed to sleep did things get weird.

"Did you hear that?" Dahyun asked.

"Hear what?" Tzuyu's eyes were closed and her voice was laced with sleep.

"That noise. You didn't hear it?" Dahyun sat up in bed.

"No, what kind of noise?" Tzuyu finally opened her eyes and sat up with Dahyun.

"It sounded like someone talking." Dahyun pulled the duvet up to her neck, suddenly cold.

"You know my parents aren't home, Dahyun. No one is talking, but us." Tzuyu laid back down.

Suddenly there was a bang coming from outside of the room and a small noise that followed.

Tzuyu shot up and Dahyun clung close to the tall girl.

"That, did you hear that?!" Dahyun whimpered.

"Yes. That I definitely heard."

"Do you think someone broke in?" Dahyun lowered her voice to a whisper.

"There's no way. We have a security system." Tzuyu stood up from the bed and slowly walked to her bedroom door.

"What are you doing Tzuyu?!" Dahyun coward further into the bed.

"C'mon don't be a baby. Let's go check out the noise."

"I'm Not being a baby! I'm worried it's a robber!" Dahyun raced over to Tzuyu and clung onto her arm. "Let's just call the cops or something."

"Call the cops? No way. What if it's something else? Something cooler." Tzuyu opened her door, but was held in place by Dahyun.

"Cooler? What could possibly be cool about loud noises at night in your house while we're alone?"

"Maybe it's a ghost."

Right when Tzuyu mentioned ghosts the door slammed in their faces. A rush of cold air pushed the girls back and Tzuyu stood in front of Dahyun ready to take on whatever was in front of them.

"Tzuyu what's going on?!" Dahyun cried.

"I dunno." Tzuyu finally sounded scared herself. It became entirely too cold in her room for the middle of the summer.

"Spirit." A voice echoed.

"Who was that?" Tzuyu asked.

"Not me," Dahyun answered.

"Spirit.  Not a ghost." The voice said again.

"Hello?" Tzuyu stepped forward. "Who's there?"

At that moment a small figure appeared out of thin air. It was a girl, she was short with medium length hair tied up into a ponytail. What was more striking about the girl was how pale she was, even paler than Dahyun. It almost appeared as if the girl was see-through.

Dahyun squealed in horror at the sight of the girl, But Tzuyu remained as calm as she could.

"You're a ghost, aren't you?" Tzuyu asked.

"I told you, I'm a spirit!" The girl almost growled out. "And my name is Chaeyoung!"

"Tzuyu, please tell me I'm dreaming right now and there isn't a see-through girl in front of us right now." Dahyun was beside herself and Tzuyu's calming aura was doing nothing to calm down Dahyun.

"You're not dreaming and I'm not see-through. I'm transparent." Chaeyoung crossed her arms over her chest.

"Hi, I'm Tzuyu. This is my best friend, Dahyun." Tzuyu introduced them to the non corporeal being.

"I know who you are. I've been watching you guys."

"That's not creepy at all." Dahyun commented.

"You don't have to hide. I'm not going to hurt you." Chaeyoung directed towards the girl still hiding behind Tzuyu.

"Right. Let me just trust the ghost."

"Spirit." Tzuyu and Chaeyoung said at the same time

" Ghost, spirit, same thing." Dahyun didn't care. All she wanted to do was wake up from this crazy dream.

"Not the same thing. Ghost's are stuck in the physical plane while I can travel between the physical and spiritual planes." Chaeyoung explained.

"Why show yourself now?" Tzuyu asked. She was no longer fearful. Curiosity consumed her thoughts.

"I'm here to ask for your help or rather, I'm here to help you guys help me."

"Uhh explain?" Tzuyu's mind raced with endless possibilities on what Chaeyoung could want with them.

"Not everyone can see the dead like you guys can.  Which means you guys can see other people just like me. I need you to help me find ghosts stuck in the physical plane and help them move on into the spiritual plane."  Chaeyoung explained.

"Why us?" Dahyun asked from behind Tzuyu.

"Like I said, not all living humans can see the dead. I've been looking for someone who can for over fifty years. You're the first I've come across."

"Fifty years? You've been dead for fifty years? But you look the same age as us." Tzuyu asked.

"I've actually been dead for sixty years and spirits take the form of whatever they like." Chaeyoung looked down at her body. "This is how I looked before I died. I figured it would be the friendliest form I could take."

"So what exactly do you need us to do?" Dahyun finally felt less scared and more curious.

"Find ghosts and help them move onto the afterlife. This city is crawling with wandering ghosts stuck here. The more ghosts there are, the harder it is for spirits like me to travel between the physical and spiritual planes. It's complicated." Chaeyoung tries to explain.

"How though? We know nothing about ghosts or spirits or whatever!" Dahyun asks.

"That's what I'm here for. I'll help as much as I can. We'll do it together."

Tzuyu and Dahyun exchanged uncertain looks with each other. The uncertainty didn't last long because after that night the pair, along with Chaeyoung, began their journey as ghost hunters. It took a few years of studying all there was to know about ghosts and the different types of spirits that wander the physical plane.

Dahyun wasn't as committed as Tzuyu, but the taller girl needed help with the technology side of things. Dahyun didn't even know if she believed in ghosts for a long time. Weeks after meeting Chaeyoung, Dahyun tried to rationalize everything they saw. She concluded they both had hallucinated the dead girl that night, but that was out to rest when Chaeyoung appeared again and again.

Eventually Dahyun accepted her fate along with Tzuyu that they were indeed fated to meet Chaeyoung and embark on a job of sending the dead to the other side.

It wasn't until they both graduated high school that they were able to make a business out of it.  Chaeyoung wasn't joking when she said the city was overrun with ghosts. Their business boomed and people all over the city were calling DaTzu Ghost Hunters Corp to get rid of a pesky house ghost, vengeful poltergeist, and wailing banshees.

Now they were on their way to their next job just outside of the city. Tzuyu was going over the file while Dahyun drove them forty minutes from Seoul in a nearby neighborhood.

The file stated that three ghosts haunted an upscale home of a well known actress. Im Nayeon had called Tzuyu and Dahyun in distress  and begged the two ghost hunters to come get rid of the ghost haunting her new home. The pay was good, but the intrigue was greater.

Nayeon informed them that she thought there was not only one ghost, but three. When Tzuyu asked her how she knew there were three, Nayeon explained she heard them all speaking to each other in three very distinct voices.

That was all the information they were given, so Tzuyu dug up some information about the previous house owners and compiled a small file of the house's history. She relayed the important information to Dahyun on their drive, but nothing prepared them for the actual size of the house.

They knew Nayeon was wealthy, but this wealthy?  The house could hold maybe three families, but Nayeon lived alone as far as the two ghost hunters were aware.

The house loomed over the meek Honda Civic in the driveway and Dahyun wondered if they're in over their heads with this one. They had never had to deal with multiple ghosts at one time.

A hand on Dahyun's shoulder pulled her out of her thoughts. She looked over to see her partner staring at her. Dahyun swallowed hard like she did every time Tzuyu looked at her for too long. How could anyone feel sane when someone like Tzuyu looked at you?

"You okay, Hyun?" Tzuyu asked.

"She's fine! No time for cold feet, Dahyunnie!"

Both girls jumped at the familiar voice on the back seat.

"Jesus, Chaeyoung, don't scare me like that!" Dahyun whined. Chaeyoung appeared in her usual form from the backseat with a cheeky grin. She knew her friend was jumpy before a job and she never failed to get a kick out of spooking the poor girl.

"Sorry, Dahyun. You know I can't resist." Chaeyoung cold hand brushed through Dahyun's hair, but all she could feel was a chilling breeze rustle her hair.

"Any advice for us, Chaeng?" Tzuyu asks.

"Hmmm, three ghosts in one house is rare, but they seem peaceful according to Nayeon's reports. She's only heard talking. No aggressive behavior, no flying objects, no threats. This should be a pretty cut and dry job. Just figure out what keeps them in the physical plane and help them move on. Easy!" Chaeyoung exclaims.

"Yeah, easy." Dahyun sarcastically repeated Chaeyoung's words.

"Hey, we just do what we always do, yeah?" Tzuyu's calm voice broke through Dahyun's grumpy exterior. "Besides, there's nothing we can't do as long as we do it together."

Tzuyu always said the same thing before every job. She always emphasized that as long as her and Dahyun were by each other's side no job was too hard for them.  Dahyun didn't necessarily believe that, but she couldn't deny that she felt safer around Tzuyu. The taller girl had a way with words and that charming effect she had on people extended to the dead as well.  It made this ghost hunting business a lot easier.

Dahyun had to admit she likely wouldn't be anywhere near ghost hunting let alone this creepy house if it weren't for Tzuyu. She'd follow Tzuyu anywhere to keep the younger girl safe. That was a promise Dahyun made to herself so Many years ago when they agreed to help Chaeyoung.

As the girls made their way into the house, it became clear that the original house was nowhere in sight. This was a completely remodeled home. Whatever stood here before Nayeon moved in was long gone.

All the lights were turned off, but instead of turning them on, Dahyun and a Tzuyu pulled out flashlights. Chaeyoung had told them when they first started ghost hunting that ghosts were more likely to appear in a dark room, so the pair of hunters usually never bother to light up a house.

Dahyun moved her flashlight across the room to get a look at the room they were in. She whistles  as she takes it in. "Wow, this is some place."

"She's a famous actress, Hyun. She can afford the best of the best." Tzuyu says as they move further into the house. The home had a simple layout. The first floor was an open floor concept with the entrance flowing seamlessly into a living room which sat adjacent to a modern kitchen decked out in all the latest appliances. A large window sat at the back of the first floor making it easier to see as the moonlight streamed through the window.

The wooden floors creaked under their feet echoing off the walls.

"This place gives me the creeps." Dahyun half whispers.

"We haven't even seen anything yet." Tzuyu chuckled.

"Not the ghost part, just the whole house. It's so big but it's just for one person? This place isn't a home. It's creepy." Dahyun shivers at the thought of living alone in a place like this.

"Didn't you ever hear of what happened to Nayeon's fianceé?"

"She was engaged? What happened to him?"

Tzuyu shook her head. "She was engaged to Yoo Jeongyeon."

"Oh." Dahyun stopped in her tracks. The name rang an alarm bell for Dahyun. She recalled the name Yoo Jeongyeon instantly, but she had no idea Jeongyeon, another famous actress,  was engaged to Im Nayeon. "I didn't know that."

"Nayeon bought this house after their engagement, wanting to move away from the city and raise a family..." Tzuyu's face suddenly turned sad. "And well you know what happened after... Jeongyeon died before she even got to see the place, I heard."

"Man, drunk drivers." Dahyun cursed.

"Hyun..." Tzuyu tries to quiet the girl.

"No, that . This place was supposed to be a real home with kids running around playing and two happy parents. Now it's just a sad actress all by herself so far away from the city." Dahyun sounded upset but mainly angry. Tzuyu found it endearing how empathetic Dahyun could be, but it often led to the older girl losing focus.

"You don't think it's her fiancée haunting the place, right?" Tzuyu asked.

Out of nowhere, Chaeyoung appears beside her. "Not likely. Jeongyeon died in a hospital. She would have to be a spirit to travel locations. Remember, Ghosts are tied to a specific location, their death site, we're dealing with three unrelated ghosts it seems."

"How unlucky." Dahyun sighed. "You're being haunted and it's not even your dead fiancée"

"Ghosts are attracted to negative energy. This house is full of it. I can sense it." Tzuyu always had a great sixth sense. That's what Chaeyoung always would say. She was impressed by how well Tzuyu could find and locate a ghost almost as fast as she could."

"Grief will do that to a person." Chaeyoung says, looking down at her own ghostly form. "It the light out of you and surrounds you with dark energy." She stood in front of the two ghost hunters and spoke. "Nayeon's grief likely woke up the dormant ghosts attached to this location."

"C'mon, let's go find them." Tzuyu said.

"Wait," Dahyun stood back. There was something important on her mind. "If this was caused by Nayeon's grief over her dead fiancée won't that attract worse things?"

"Dahyun is right. As long as Nayeon keeps this place surrounded in dark energy, much worse things than ghosts will come stalking around eventually." Chaeyoung explained. "But we can't worry about that right now. We need to find the three lost souls and help them, then we can help Nayeon."

Tzuyu and Dahyun agree and split up to search the rest of the house in hope to find some kind of clue or sign to where the ghosts are. Dahyun took the upstairs while Tzuyu stayed on the first floor. Dahyun hated splitting up, but with a house this big they would need to if they wanted to be out of here before the sun came up.

Dahyun pulls out her digital thermometer and turns it on. Pointing it in front of her, she can see the temperature of the space and if a ghost happens to pass in front of her, the temperature should drop a significant amount. This was the easiest way, she thought, of finding a ghost. There had been many instances of shy ghosts found by Dahyun's thermometer.

The first room she checked was a small bedroom. There wasn't much furniture in the room. It looked as if it was unfinished. There were picture frames hanging up around the room. Various pictures of Nayeon and Yoo Jeongyeon.

Dahyun checked the thermometer, but it appeared normal.

She opened the closet in the room only to be met with a dozen boxes. Some were unlabeled, but a few had back marker which someone had written on the box "Future Lim-Yoo baby things". Dahyun quickly closed the closet and moved on, not wanting to disturbed Nayeon's personal items.

A shiver ran down Dahyun's spine. She check the temperature again, but it was normal. It must have been the sight of Nayeon and Jeongyeon's personal belongings casually sitting in an empty room. knowing the fate of Jeongyeon, Dahyun didn't like to think about what life could have been lived in this house. If she dwelled on it too much, she would begin to get upset again.

The next room was a much larger, more lived in room. It was obvious this was the master bedroom by the large bed in the center of the room. Nayeon's clothes were scattered on the bed or on the floor. She must have not bothered to clean up before leaving for the night.

Just then a cold breeze swept through the room causing the thermometer to beep several times. Dahyun assumed a window was open, but as she looked to close it, she noticed there were no windows, at least not any that were open.

Dahyun froze in place. The room slowly was getting colder and colder. So much so that Dahyun could see her breath come out in short puffs in front of her.

"You're cute."

Dahyun whipped around to the voice behind only to see nothing.

"Who's there?" Dahyun asked.

When no one answered. Dahyun tried again.

"Tzuyu? Is that you?" Dahyun called out.

Still no answer.

"Chaeyoung?"

"Isn't she adorable, Momoring?" The voice giggled.

"Hello?" Dahyun began to involuntarily shake a little.

"Sana, shut up! You're going to scare her!" A different voice popped up.

"Look I know you're ghosts and you're here, so just show yourself!" Dahyun tried to sound brave.

A white figure appeared by Dahyun making the girl jump, but the more it began to materialize, the more it started to look like a young woman, maybe a little older than Dahyun. She wore a white flowy dress which only made her look more ghostly.

"You caught me." The woman teased and she circled Dahyun. Her voice was like sugary sweet liquid dripping into Dahyun's ear.

"And who exactly are you?" Dahyun spoke and tried not to let her fear show in her voice. In all the years she's been hunting ghosts, the pretty ones were always the most dangerous.

"Mmm wouldn't you like to know."

Dahyun could feel the cold transparent fingers of the ghost pass through her hair, almost as if the ghost meant to play with Dahyun's hair.

"Quit playing around Sana." Another figure appears just behind the ghost whose name Dahyun was now sure of. This ghost didn't have as bright of a glow to her but the unmistakable cloudy white form stood near the other.

Dahyun reached down to her phone but the action didn't go unnoticed by the two floating girls.

"Calling someone?" The ghost named Sana asked.

"My friend...Tzuyu. She's downstairs." Dahyun knew the best course of action was to remain calm and get Tzuyu up here. Tzuyu was much better at talking to ghosts.

"Aw and here I thought I'd have you all to myself." Sana giggled.

Dahyun quickly sent a text to Tzuyu and within a few seconds she could hear the other girl making her way upstairs.

"Dahyun?" Tzuyu called out.

"In here!" Dahyun yelled.

"Dahyun, huh? That's a cute name." Sana spoke into Dahyun's ear causing the living girl to shudder. She was properly frozen in place when Tzuyu burst through the door.

"Whoa." Was all Tzuyu could say having seen her best friend surrounded by two very ghostly figures. "Dahyun, are you okay? Have they tried to hurt you?"

"Hurt her? We haven't laid a single finger on her head." Sana said before rethinking her word choice. "Not that we could even if we wanted to."

Sana retreated back towards the other ghost in the room, a very visible pout on her face.

"She's right. They haven't hurt me. I... I think they're nice." Dahyun stuttered out.

Tzuyu relaxed a little. She would have felt awful if she had sent Dahyun upstairs alone only to be attacked by angry ghosts. These ghosts however didn't seem very angry.

"Hold on. There's only two of them." Tzuyu pointed out. Nayeon and Chaeyoung both mentioned three ghosts. "Where's the third one?"

"How did you know there were three of us?" Momo asked.

Tzuyu finally got to Dahyun's side, making the shorter girl's fear deflate significantly. Tzuyu always knew what to do.

"The person who lives here told us there were three ghosts." Tzuyu explained.

"I told you that women could hear us!" Momo turned to her companion and scolded her. "You're always so loud. We probably scared the crap out of her."

"I'm sorry! It's not my fault Mina was being all broody." Sana whined.

"Mina? Is that the third ghost?" Tzuyu interrupted.

"Yes but she's even less likely to make an appearance then us two so don't get your hopes up. Speaking of which," Momo looked at the two living girls in front of her. "How is it you two can see us? We've never met a living person who can."

Tzuyu and Dahyun look at each other. This was common. Once a ghost realizes they could be seen they always ask how.

"Dahyun and I have been able to see the dead stuck in the physical plane for years. We're here to help you." Tzuyu explained.

"Help us?" Sana looked confused. She looked at Momo who looked just as confused.

"Yes. We're here to help you move on to the spirit plane."

"No." Momo spoke up.

"No?" Tzuyu's face scrunched up.

"We're not going anywhere. Stop trying to help." Momo quickly turned around and disappeared into thin air.

The room grew eerily quiet. It sent a shiver down Dahyun's spine.

"Sorry about Momo." Sana still was looking in the direction Momo had run off to. "She's not very trusting."

"It's okay." Tzuyu moved slowly towards Sana so as to not spook her. "We're not leaving until we can help you guys." The tall girl took out a notepad and a pen.

Sana shook her head. "I don't see how. We've been stuck here for what feels like an eternity."

"Well, right now you can start by telling us what happened to the three of you." Tzuyu nodded towards Dahyun, who pulled out an EMF reader to monitor the ghost activity within the room. Sana appearing in front of them cashed the EMF to spike to EMF level three. A more aggressive ghost would spike the EMF to level five.

"You mean how we died?" Sana asked.

"Yes, please. It'll help us figure out how to get you guys... unstuck if you will." Tzuyu used the calm and alluring voice she always used. It got dozens of ghosts to trust her, to spill all their darkest secrets and regrets to her.

Dahyun looked on like a proud friend. It was amazing to see Tzuyu in action.

"It was an accident." Sana started. "I had planned a dinner with Momo and Mina. We were supposed to..." Sana paused. "We- " Sana got choked up. "I'm sorry. I really should go find Momo."

"Sana, it's important to stay calm. We don't want to increase the negative energy here. It'll only make things harder." Tzuyu tried to calm the ghostly girl down.

Sana nodded. "All I want is to leave this place."

"And you will, as soon as you tell me what happened." Tzuyu tried again.

Sana sighed. "We were having dinner together. The three of us. Momo had cooked this amazing meal for us. Everything was perfect. We finally figured things out, but suddenly there was an explosion." Sana sounded like she was about to cry if only it were possible.

The EMF reader spiked to level 4.

"Tzuyu we're at level 4." Dahyun said.

"It's okay. She's just retelling something traumatic. It's natural for the level to go up." Tzuyu returned her attention to the ghost. "Please continue."

"I don't remember much after that. I don't think I was alive for very long after the explosion." Sana shrugged.

"What caused the explosion?" Tzuyu was writing down everything Sana was saying.

"I'm not sure. Momo thinks she left the stove on and something in the kitchen caused it." Sana answered as much as she could.

"We really need to speak with the others. Is there a way you can get Momo and Mina to speak with us?" Tzuyu asks.

Sana shook her head. "Momo blames herself. I doubt she'd want to talk about it."

"What about Mina?" Dahyun finally asks.

"Mina hasn't been speaking to us for a while now." Sana looks much sadder now than when she was talking about her untimely death.

"Why not?" Dahyun became curious about the three ghosts and their relationship to one another.

"It's complicated." Was all Sana said.

"Something is keeping you guys here, Sana." Tzuyu began. "Complicated or not, we need to know."

"The dinner was an apology dinner. Momo and I were apologizing to Mina. But that wasn't all, we also-"

"I think that's enough talking, Sana." Momo suddenly appeared and interrupted Sana.

Sana hung her head and stopped talking.

"Go home, you two." Momo said while looking at Dahyun and Tzuyu. "There's nothing here for you."

"We can't do that. We have a duty to not only help you but Nayeon as well." Tzuyu stood her ground.

"That woman sits in front of her fireplace and cries almost every night. She calls out for someone named Jeongyeon and we have to listen to it. Help us by getting her to shut up!" Momo raised her voice. It echoed through the entire room.

"Momo..." Sana tried to get the other ghost to calm down.

The EMF reader began to beep.

"Tzuyu, we're at level five. Momo is spiking the EMF." Dahyun grew nervous.

"Better yet, get Nayeon to move, so that we can have some quiet around here. That would help us." Momo's voice dripped with venom.

"She doesn't mean that." Sana tried to explain.

The lights began to flicker and the room grew much colder.

"Tzuyu, her energy levels are too high." Dahyun warned.

Tzuyu closed her eyes and took a deep breath before speaking again. "Sana, is there anything you can do to calm her down?"

"I'm sorry. She's been like this ever since Mina stopped talking to us." Sana wrapped her arms around herself.

Tzuyu turned to Dahyun. "Hyun, we need to get Mina's side of things. We aren't going to get anywhere as along as the three of them are this disjointed."

"Okay, what do you want me to do?" Dahyun asked.

"I'll go find Mina, you stay here and keep them calm."

"Keep the ghosts calm. Right. I can do that." Dahyun only said to herself.

"Hey," Tzuyu got Dahyun's attention again. "You got this, hyun. You keep me calm all the time."

Dahyun nodded as Tzuyu left the room to go find the third and final ghost. Dahyun immediately wished Tzuyu was with her the moment she left the room.

"You're not going to get Mina to talk to either of you." Momo sneered.

"Tzuyu knows how to get people talking. Don't doubt her." Dahyun felt defensive. Who was this ghost to tell her what Tzuyu can and can't do? She had no idea what Tzuyu was capable of.

"You're very protective of your girlfriend." Sana smiled.

"Girlfriend? Tzuyu isn't my girlfriend. She's my best friend."

"You follow her like a little puppy. It's cute." Sana leaned against Momo. "Right, Momo?"

"No." Momo shoved Sana off of her.

"You were like that once. You used to look at me like that." Sana sighed. It was meant to be an innocent comment but Dahyun could tell there was weight behind it.

Dahyun always left the more investigation work to Tzuyu. Dahyun liked to work on the tech side of things. It was in the realm of things she could easily understand. This ghost nonsense wasn't. That didn't stop Dahyun from being curious though.

"You guys were a thing? I mean while you living."  Dahyun was almost afraid to ask. The EMF reader was finally going down to a normal level. She didn't want to provoke any anger while Tzuyu was away.

Sana really smiled then. Like she was remembering something wonderful. Momo in the other hand sulked over to a corner of the room and sat down on a chair.

"Momo and I were engaged." Sana grinned. "We were going to get married, but of course the universe had other ideas."

"Well at least you two are together. Even in the afterlife." Dahyun thought it was sweet. Even in death a couple could be together. Maybe there was a forever to look forward too, Dahyun thought.

"It's hell." Momo said from across the room. "This is hell. To be stuck in this house with the person... with the people you wanted to start a life with. Only for it all to be destroyed." Momo wasn't angry like she was before. She looked sad so Dahyun figured it would be okay to push a little more out of the girl.

"You said people instead of person. Why?" Dahyun asked.

Tzuyu goes down the hall of the second floor. It was dark but she was used to roaming around dark hallways. Usually Dahyun was next to her which gave her to strength she needed to continue forward, but now she needed to get a job done. No time to dwell on her best friend.

She needed to find Mina and see what all the anger Momo was exhibiting was about. Sana said Momo blamed herself for their deaths, so was that why Mina wasn't speaking to them? Did she also blame Momo?

Luckily she had search all of downstairs before, so Mina had to be upstairs. Tzuyu entered a room but this one wasn't empty. It was filled with paintings and drawings. Some were hanging on the wall, some were sitting in a table with other art supplies. Nayeon had mentioned the art room before leaving her house. She asked them not to mess with any of the paintings. From what Tzuyu could tell, they were all most abstract paintings, none really making any sense to Tzuyu. But there were some that had a face. The face of a woman that wasn't Nayeon. Tzuyu assumes this woman was Jeongeyon.

She stared down at the charcol drawing of an angular face with shirt black hair framing the face. It was a beautiful piece of art, but not the reason Tzuyu was there.

"You shouldn't be in here." A small timid voice said.

Tzuyu looked around the room to find the source of the voice but found none.

"Nayeon doesn't like people in here." The voice spoke again.

"Is that why you're in here? Because people don't come in here?" Tzuyu asked.

"I can't leave this place. You can. I'd leave if I were you." The voice tried to sound menacing but it just didn't hit.

"I'm not afraid of you... Mina." Tzuyu knew it could only be the third and final ghost with Dahyun currently entertaining the other two.

A dull grey figure appears in front of Tzuyu. It didn't have the same glow as Sana or even Momo. Grey mist surrounded the ghost and filled the room. A great sense of sadness came over Tzuyu. She wasn't exactly sure why, but the ghost in front of her looked at her curiously.

"You know my name?" Mina asked.

"I've spoken to Sana and Momo. I can see them just like how I can see you now." Tzuyu explained. "Me and my friend, Dahyun, we're here to help you."

Mina didn't speak. Instead she floated around the room, seeming to touch each surface but in reality her hand passed right through any solid object.

"Mina, why don't you talk to Momo and Sana anymore?" Tzuyu followed the ghost around the room, but kept her distance.

"It easier that way. Less painful." Mina simply said.

"The three of you are stuck in this house for eternity and you think ignoring them is easier? Momo seems especially upset about it." Tzuyu noticed the ghost slight pause before she continue her way around the room.

"Momo likes to act like nothing affects her. But in reality she's affected the most." Mina sighed.

"I have a friend like that. Dahyun tries her best to act tough, but the poor girl doesn't know how scared I know she is sometimes." This was Tzuyu's plan. Relate to Mina, get her comfortable enough to spill everything.

"Does your friend keep her feeling hidden like Momo does too?"

Tzuyu thought for a moment. It didn't matter what answer she gave Mina. At the end of the day she was doing her job and lying to a ghost she probably will never see again didn't weight down her conscience. There was something about Mina however that made Tzuyu want to tell the truth.

"Sometimes I think she does." Tzuyu think towards her best friend. Dahyun rarely talked about her feelings. "But most of the time I think she's completely unaware of her own feelings sometimes."

Mina laughed. "Momo can be so painfully unaware too." Her laughter died down at the thought of something. "Your Dahyun and my Momo sound more alike the more you tell me about her."

Your Dahyun

Tzuyu didn't know how to feel about that statement. Dahyun was her best friend, a small pang sounded off in her chest hearing the words.

Your Dahyun

Dahyun had always been by her side. Her best friend. To hear someone describe the girl as Tzuyu's, well, it made the usually stoic girl smile. Tzuyu quickly wonders if Dahyun is alright with Momo and Sana.

"You and Momo seem very close." Tzuyu began to pride deeper into the ghosts' relationships. "Are you close with Sana too?"

Mina scoffed at the question. "Sana is close with everyone."

"Mina, do you mind telling me the events that led up to your death?" Tzuyu cautiously asked. "Sana had mentioned a dinner with the three of you and an explosion..."

"The dinner was for me." Mina unexpectedly said. Tzuyu thought she'd need to do a little more to get Mina to talk, but Mina seemed eager to speak to someone. "They were apologizing to me."

"What were they apologizing for?" Tzuyu slowly got her notepad out.

"When I first met Momo and Sana, I met them as a couple. You couldn't separate the two of them. Where one went, the other followed. I got close to them through mutual friends, but things became more... complicated." Mina hesitated to say more.

"Complicated?" Tzuyu pressed.

"I feel in love with Momo." Mina looked out the window she was standing in front of. The moon shown through the glass and reflected off the transparent ghost's face. Tzuyu could see her face more clearly know. She was beautiful in death, Tzuyu wonders how the girl looked when she was alive.

"That is complicated. Did Momo return your feelings?" Tzuyu begun to get a clearer picture of what was going on. An unresolved love triangle coupled with the mysterious explosion killing all three girls. One of which blames herself of their deaths.

"At first, no. She was very adamant about loving Sana. I understood. I didn't want to ruin their relationship at all, but I couldn't continue being friends with them while I was in love with Momo's so I pulled away." Mina's sad eyes turns to look at Tzuyu. "Sana came to me one day and begged me to come back to them. It was confusing but like a fool I did as she asked."

"Sana was okay with you being in love with Momo?" Tzuyu asked.

"She said as long as I make Momo happy then She's happy too. Things got heated quickly. It was all moving too fast for me. At first I was just burning a silly crush for Momo and next thing I knew I was being invited into a relationship with two people. I freaked out and ran off again."

"And that's when they invited you to dinner to apologize." Tzuyu put the pieces together.

"Yes." Mina gives Tzuyu a sad smile. "But we never got to talk much that night."

"What do you think caused the explosion?"

"Momo says it was her. That she must have kept the stove on or something, but your guess is as good as mine." Mina looked back outside. "All I know is that dinner would have never happened if I hadn't kept running away."

"You can't blame yourself for that. You were dealing with complicated feelings. It in no way was the cause of your death or theirs." Tzuyu pointed in the direction of the room she knew Momo and Sana were currently in.

"Maybe you're right, but it doesn't take that feeling of regret away."

"If you have regrets why not talk to them about it? Why are you not speaking to them?" Tzuyu finally asked.

"Momo and Sana were a happy couple before I came into the picture. I only added more confusion. The least I could do is leave them be now."

"No offense, but that seems like bull." Tzuyu crossed her arms over her chest.

"You don't know me, so I don't care if you believe me or not." Mina spit back at Tzuyu.

"Mina, I can tell how much it hurts you to be away from them. You love them." Tzuyu tried to calm the situation.

"You don't understand. I ruined their lives. How can I face them again?" Mina turned to face away from Tzuyu.

"Because they love you and know you weren't the reason for their deaths." Tzuyu could tell she still wasn't budging with Mina.

Mina looked out one of the windows into the dark night. "If you thought you were the cause of your Dahyun's death, would you be able to face her again?"

Tzuyu couldn't even imagine it.

She felt sick to even think about Dahyun dying and her being the cause of it. She understood Mina's action, but they were misguided.

"I'd never be able to look at her again." Tzuyu answered.

Mina turned back towards Tzuyu. "So you do understand."

"I do, but I also know that what happened to the three of you was an accident. One that was impossible for you to prevent."

Mina stared at Tzuyu for an uncomfortable amount of time. She couldn't get a read on Mina.

"I don't even know if I love both of them truly. We never got the time to find out." Mina said as if she was reminiscing. "How did you know with Dahyun?"

"How did I know what?"

"How did you know you loved her?" Mina looked at Tzuyu curiously.

"Oh." Tzuyu was taken off guard. Mina was obviously mistaken at her relationship with Dahyun. They were just friends, always have been, but Tzuyu hesitated to correct the ghost. Dahyun was her best friend, of course she loved her. How far that love went, Tzuyu wasn't sure. She never even thought about it. The only thing she knew was how important Dahyun was to her. "Well, Dahyun and I have known Each other for a long time. We've been friends forever. It was easier to love her." Tzuyu wasn't lying. Loving Dahyun was the least complicated thing in Tzuyu's life. The one constant. Hunting ghost took a toll on Tzuyu, but Dahyun was always there to pick her back up.

"So time, the one thing I no longer have." Mina sighed.

Time was such an abstract concept for the living and dead, Tzuyu pondered. How much time did she really have left on this earth? When it was finally her time to leave, would Dahyun be there for her as well?  Would she be lucky enough to spend eternity with someone like Dahyun?"

"Mina, don't you understand? The three of you are stuck in this house until you all can reconcile. Not talking to them is only going to keep you here longer." Tzuyu calmly explained.

"I don't even know what I would say to them."

"Let me and Dahyun help." Tzuyu offered. "That's what we're here for."

Mina looked pensive. Like she was weighing her options. Face Momo and Sana or spend the rest of eternity miserable and alone.

"I miss them." Mina smiled to herself. She missed a lot of things now that she is dead, but there are a few things she missed the most. She missed the way Sana's laugh would fill up a room. She missed the smirk Momo would give her when they flirted. She missed both of them so much.

"They're right down the hall." Tzuyu knew she was so close to getting Mina to cooperate. She just needed a little push. "Dahyun is with them."

Mina nodded and began to follow Tzuyu out of the room, but stopped short.

"Before we go, there's one last thing you should know." Mina started.

"What's is it?"

"Dahyun, the girl you're with..."

Tzuyu’s chest seized at the thought of it, being with Dahyun.

"Live your fullest life with her before it's too late. Before you're like me. Say I love you every day, touch her every day, kiss her every day because one day you won't be able to and it's hell."

Tzuyu knows if Mina was a living breathing human she would be crying, but now the floating ghost can only look like her heart is giving ripped from her chest.

"I've helped a lot of ghosts in my life, Mina, but tonight you've help me realized something very important and I'm not gonna let it go to waste." Tzuyu promised.

The two girls made their way down the hall to the room the rest were still in. Upon entering the room, Tzuyu couldn't help but let out a laugh. Dahyun hadn't moved an inch from her spot in the middle of the room. Momo also hadn't moved. She was standing with her arms crossed as Sana floated around the room humming to herself.

Sana noticed Tzuyu enter the room first. "Tzuyu! You're back, we missed you!" Then she noticed the person behind her. "Mina!"

The sound of Mina's name being called pulled Momo out of her grumpy state. She eyes softened and she dropped her crossed arms.

"Mina?" Momo called out. She looked over to the girl with hopeful eyes.

Mina stayed close to Tzuyu as they walked further into the room. Tzuyu made her way over to where Dahyun was still standing.

"Everything alright in here?" Tzuyu asked Dahyun.

Dahyun nodded as she looked over towards Mina. "I'm guessing everything went well on your end too."

"So this is Dahyun." Mina said as she got closer to the other living girl.

Dahyun was shocked to hear her name come from the ghost. "You guys talked about me?" She asked half joking, half genuinely curious.

Tzuyu bumped her shoulder. "Only a little." Tzuyu suddenly felt shy being around Dahyun again. Something she's never been shy about. Dahyun was always the one person she felt the most comfortable around, but Mina's words still stuck with her. "Speaking of talking, I think you three have a lot to talk about." Tzuyu refocused on the task at hand, getting Momo, Sana, and Mina on the same page.

Mina looked towards the other two ghost. Sana and Momo stood close together. Had they been alive, you could imagine their hands being tightly clasped.

"I'm sorry for not talking to you all." Mina started. "There were a lot of emotions I was feeling. A lot of guilt and I just couldn't stand to face either of you." Mina looked down at the floor.

"But you're here now and that's all that matter, right Momo?" Sana looked at her companion whose eyes never left Mina's.

"Right." Was all Momo could say.

Mina looked uncomfortable so she spoke to Tzuyu. "I'm not quite sure what to say."

Tzuyu smiled. "Don't worry. Remember I said we would help." Mina nodded at the tall girl. "Mina and I had a great conversation. She put a lot of the blame for your deaths on herself, but we all know that's not true."

Momo finally found the words she wanted to say. "It was never your fault, Mina." The anger Momo seemed to hold onto melted away when she said Mina's name. "It was never your fault."

"It felt like it." Mina confessed. "I felt like I barged into a perfect couples relationship and that dinner wouldn't even happened if I had just stayed away.

"We didn't want you to stay away, Mina." Sana added. "We wanted you to join us. And to be honest Momo and I would have died anyways." Sana looked sad now. "That explosion was going to happened regardless if you were there or not."

"Sana is right. If anyone should feel guilt it should be me." Momo stepped in. "I practically begged you to come to dinner and dragged you to your death unknowingly." Momo shook her head. "You're dead because of me."

Mina finally walked closer to the other two ghosts. "Please don't feel that way. I wanted to come. You didn't need to beg me, Momo. I was looking for any reason to come."

Dahyun cleared to interject. "Looks like Mina wants to blame herself, but so does Momo." They all turned to look at Dahyun. " but accidents rarely have blame to place." Dahyun pulled out her phone. She had a web page already pulled up. "I found the police report for the night of your deaths." She showed the phone screen to the rest of the room's occupants. "It was a gas leak. Nothing any of you could have done to prevent it."

The room grew eerily quiet. No one.wanted to be the first to speak, but Sana figured it should be her.

"So does that mean the two them can stop blaming themselves finally?"

"Yes, that's exactly what that means." Tzuyu smiled.

"I don't think I was ready to spend the rest of eternity with that guilt." Mina shared. "I'm happy that at least is solved."

"Same." Momo agreed. "I can't blame myself for an accident." Momo then looked confused. "But if neither of us blame ourselves anyone. For the accident then why are we still here? Shouldn't we be able to finally leave?"

"Unfortunately the accident wasn't the only thing keeping you guys here. You have some unresolved feelings that need dealing with first. Then I'm sure you'll be able to leave."  Tzuyu said as she looked to Mina and gave the ghost a slight nod.

Mina nodded back before speaking to the other two ghost. "I think... no I know we still stuck here because I was unsure of myself when it came to you two. I was unsure when I was alive and now it's followed me to my death."

"Mina what are you saying?" Momo wanted to hold Mina, protect the girl from whatever is plaguing her. It was just natural for Momo.

"I love you Momo." Mina practically gasped out. Like all the air in her lungs was forced out of her, as if she needed any air to breathe. "I fell so hard for you and I know you know that, but I don't think you understand how far it went for me. I fell so incredibly in love with you."

Momo looked like it was a surprise to hear the word coming from Mina. She knew they had a connection, but Mina's hesitation when they were alive made Momo question just how deep that connection ran.

"And Sana..." Mina started but Sana was even more surprised to hear her name.

Sana knew from the get go that Mina loved Momo. It wasn't a surprise to her. I mean she also loved Momo so she could see why anyone would fall for her.

"Sana, I didn't just run from my feeling for Momo. I ran from you too." Mina let out a deep breath. Her feeling for Sana were just a tad more complicated. "I didn't know you as well as Momo, but when I got to know you I got attached. And that scared me. I didn't know how I could come to care for more than one person. It was new for me and I didn't know how to handle it." Mina shook her head at the memories of her naive self. All the if onlys running through her head. "I had come to that dinner ready to open myself up to both of you."

"Mina." Sana sounded like a concerned mother tending to her child. The delicate but warm voice floated across the room and wrapped everyone in a tight hug. "I had no idea you felt that way about me. Honestly I was ready to let you and Momo be together as a couple."

Mina shook her head rapidity. "No!" Her voice wavered. "I can't do that. Not when you are just as important to this equation as Momo is. I may know I love Momo, but I think if I had enough time before the accident I would have come to love you as well. I know I would."

Mina stood in the middle in between Sana and Momo. "I need both of you."

Momo looked to Sana and Sana looked right back at her. They shared a stare as if they were communicating telepathically before Momo spoke up.

"Mina, we need you too. Ever since the accident, we've both been miserable without you with us." Momo said.

"She's right. Like there was a piece missing." Sana added. "I don't know where we are going in our new life... or death? But I know whereever it is I need it to be the three of us. No matter what."

"Really?" Mina asked with hope in her dead eyes.

"A hundred percent, yes." Sana giggled. "You're stuck with us Mina. I hope you're prepared for that."

"I wouldn't want to be stuck with anyone else but you two." Mina so badly wanted to embrace them, but their incorporeal bodies made it impossible.

Suddenly, the three ghosts saw a small warm light appear in front of them. It was slowly getting bigger, but as it did its gravitational pull grew as well.

"What's happening?" Momo asked looking to Tzuyu and Dahyun.

"It must be starting." Dahyun said.

"You're ready to move on from this realm." Tzuyu never felt more satisfied with a job. She's helped a lot of ghost move on to the spirit realm, but these three will stick with her for a long time. "You've finally realized your feelings for each other and spoke them into reality. The dark energy from you is gone and now you're ready to enter the spiritual realm."

"Congratulations!" Dahyun jumped a little in excitement.

Tzuyu looked at her partner fondly before turning her attention back to the three ghosts.

"What's going to happen to us?" Mina asked.

"You'll no longer be ghost stuck to this house. You'll be free spirits soon. All you have to do is walk into the light. I know it might seem scary but it what you must do." Tzuyu explained.

"Will we still be together, the three of us?" Sana moved even closer to the other two beside her.

"Of course. You'll move on together. Once you're in the spirit realm, a friend of yours, named Chaeyoung will be waiting for you. She'll help you once you're there." Tzuyu knew this part could be stressful for ghosts. Going into the unknown. That's why Chaeyoung is patiently waiting on the other side.

"Ready?" Momo asked her girls.

"Ready."

"Ready."

Both Sana and Mina spoke at the same time as the all walked together into the growing ball of light. When the three ghost entered the ball, they disappeared leaving the only occupants in the room Dahyun and Tzuyu.

The two ghost hunters stood in the room in silence for a moment before Dahyun turned to Tzuyu.

"We did it! Good job, Tzuyu." Dahyun patted her friend's shoulder and began walking out of the room. "Do you want to call Nayeon or shall I?" Dahyun looked at her watch, it was nearing sunrise already.

"You can do it." Tzuyu said, still lost in thought. She couldn't get what Mina had said to her out of her head. She followed Dahyun out of the house. She zoned out, not really hearing the conversation between Nayeon and her partner, but before she knew it they were both back in their car staring at the front of Nayeon's house.

This was a sort of ritual for them. The moments after a ghost hunt were spent in silence in their car. It was a way for them, especially Tzuyu to decompress. Ghost hunting could be stressful. Even the successful jobs could take it all out of Tzuyu. This one seemed to hit her hard.

Dahyun had noticed Tzuyu was taking longer to pull herself together.

"Everything alright, Tzu?"

Tzuyu slowly smiled. It didn't quite have the same glow as it usually did, Dahyun thought.

"Yeah everything is fine." Tzuyu automatically replied. "Is it weird that I'm kind of missing them already?" Tzuyu asked.

"Who? Those three?" Dahyun nodded towards the large house where they last saw the three ghosts.

"Yeah. I dunno I just got a feeling like in another life we could have been friends." Tzuyu answered.

"Well don't worry about them. Chaeyoung will take care of them like she always does." Dahyun thought Tzuyu's sentimentalism was endearing.

It grew quiet again.

"Are you sure everything is okay, Tzuyu?" Dahyun asked once again.

"Have you ever thought about dying, Hyun?" Tzuyu suddenly asked out of nowhere.

"Uhh I mean sure. Sometimes it comes up. I mean it's hard not to when death is kinda part of the job." Dahyun didn't know where Tzuyu was going with her question.

"Have you ever thought about it though? Like really thought about your death. Like if you died today, this second, would you be satisfied with the life you've lived?"

"Tzuyu, where is this coming from?" Dahyun was beginning to get concerned. Tzuyu seemed distressed.

"Would you be able to say you died with no regrets?" Tzuyu ignored Dahyun's question.

"I don't know I haven't really thought about it like that."

"Me neither." Tzuyu said. "Until tonight."

Dahyun's face grew confused.

"Mina told me not to waste the time I have while I'm alive." Tzuyu started again when she realized Dahyun was allowing her to continue her train of thought. "She told me to spend my life with the one I love to the fullest before it's too late."

"Aw Tzuyu, you'll find that person soon. Don't worry." Dahyun wanted to comfort the unusually melancholy girl. She ignored the slight pang in her chest at the thought of Tzuyu falling in love with some nameless face.

Tzuyu shook her head knowing Dahyun wasn't going to get  it at first. She needed to be direct. Dahyun alway did have trouble reading between the lines.

"Don't you see, Hyun? I've already found that person. I found her years ago and she's been with me ever since." Tzuyu confessed.

Dahyun's brow furrowed. Surely Tzuyu didn't mean her, right? It was Tzuyu, her best friend. Her beautiful best friend who could have literally anyone she wanted.

"Tzuyu... are you saying what I..."

"I love you."

Tzuyu ripped the bandaid clean off.

"Me?" Dahyun pointed to herself. "You're in love with me? Are you sure?"

Dahyun's wide eyes made Tzuyu giggle. "Yes, you, Kim Dahyun."

Dahyun swallowed and looked to the house. "Wow. You love me."

"After what Mina said I thought about you and what it would be like if I lived my entire life without loving you fully. It hurt. It caused me pain to imagine it. I can't die without you knowing." Tzuyu grabbed Dahyun's hand and squeezed it. The warm skin providing comfort to both girls.

"You've been my best friend for so long, Tzuyu." Dahyun looked down at their connected hands. "It's going to be weird now."

Tzuyu's stomach dropped. In her head she always imagined Dahyun loving her back.

"Hyun, I- I'm so sorry if I've made this weird for you. I didn't even think about how this would change our friendship." Tzuyu wanted to shout, cry, run away all in that order, but she kept it together if only for now. She attempted to pull her hand away but Dahyun held on tight.

"Tzuyu, I meant its going to be weird now because I'll have to get used to calling you my girlfriend instead of my best friend." Dahyun caressed the taller girl's hand with her thumb.

"Oh" Tzuyu shoulders relaxed. A rush if air escaped her lungs and she just wanted to collapse into Dahyun's arms but the center console of the car made that impossible.

"Now I haven't really thought much about us being in a romantic situation before, but it makes sense, right? We already live together and share just about everything. I could see us being happy as a couple." Dahyun happily said.

Dahyun always looked at things with a logical head. It's one of the things Tzuyu loved about Dahyun. She was the logical brain to her emotional one.

"I love you Kim Dahyun." Tzuyu couldn't help herself. She wanted to say it over and over again.

"Wow." Dahyun said again. "I don't think I'll ever get over hearing you say that." Dahyun lifted hand and kissed the back of Tzuyu's hand.

Tzuyu wanted more. She suddenly felt deprived. All the years she could have been kissing Dahyun seemed like a waste.

So Tzuyu pulled at Dahyun's shirt causing the girl to lean forward giving Tzuyu plenty of room to lean over the center console of the car and connect their lips together in sweet kiss.

Dahyun hummed at the feeling of Tzuyu's lips on hers.

Their kiss didn't last very long however. A figure appeared in the back seat of the car, scaring both girls out of their moment. Tzuyu even hitting her head in the car roof.

"Uhh did I miss something?" Chaeyoung looked between the two living girls like she had just caught her parents kissing.

Rubbing her sore head, Tzuyu laughed. "Yeah you kinda popped in at the worst moment,  Chaeng!"

"Sorry! How was I suppose to know you two would be locking lips at this exact moment?" Chaeyoung would have turned red if she was physically able to.

"It's okay Chaeng." Dahyun laughed. "But we might need to work on some boundaries and privacy now that Tzuyu and I are... spending time together if you catch my drift."

"Yeah yeah yeah. You can spare me the details." Chaeyoung sighed. "Just promise me you won't make me a perpetual third wheel now ."

"We promise, Chaengie." Tzuyu blushed. "But right now maybe not." Tzuyu lifted her and Dahyun's connected hands.

"Whatever, see you guys later." Chaeyoung playfully rolled her eyes and poofed out of the car, leaving Dahyun and Tzuyu alone.

"You didn't have to chase her off,  you know." Dahyun leaned her head back on the seat, looking dreamily at the girl next to her.

"Yes I did." Tzuyu smiled wide. "Otherwise I wouldn't be able to do this." Tzuyu grabbed Dahyun face by her chin, pulling Dahyun towards her. She paused a second to let Dahyun pull away if she wanted to, but Dahyun just grinned and closed the space between them.

The kiss was short, but sweet. They both relished in the feeling of each other's lips. Tzuyu leaned back in for a second kiss, one that Dahyun readily gave in to.

Once they were satisfied, they pulled apart and were left in a haze of bliss.

"Let go home." Tzuyu hummed.

Dahyun nodded and watched as Tzuyu pulled the car out of the driveway to the house. Eventually the house disappeared from the review mirror and was no longer in view, but for Dahyun and Tzuyu they'd never forget that night for as long as they lived and died.

Life didn't change much for Tzuyu and Dahyun. Chaeyoung teased them that they were practically dating before that night anyways. They continued their ghost hunting for years together until they knew it was time to finally settle down and start a family.

Of course they passed on their ghost hunting skills to their children. Hoping to spur on the new generation in helping the helpless souls of the physical and spirit worlds.

When it was time, Dahyun went first. Chaeyoung helped the older woman cross over to her final resting place. While it was expected, it still hurt for Tzuyu to watch the love of her life pass on without her. The sadness was overwhelming, but true to her words, Dahyun never truly left Tzuyu's side. She figured out the tricks and tips of being a fresh spirit and stuck around Tzuyu in the physical realm as much as she could, taking on a younger form of herself.

Tzuyu's time came only months after Dahyun. Physically there was nothing wrong with Tzuyu. She was the picture of health in her old age. A strong but lonely heart. She longed to be with Dahyun once again. So one night , a calm and peaceful night, surrounded by her and Dahyun's children, Tzuyu joined her best friend in the spirit realm.

Friends and family greeted her on her arrival to the other side including three familiar spirits. Mina, Momo, and Sana stood next to Chaeyoung. Sana excited waived at Tzuyu while Momo gave her a curt nod in acknowledgement while Mina have her a knowing look. A look that said, "you did good, Tzuyu. You kept your promise and filled your life with love and happiness."

Seeing everyone filled Tzuyu's heart, but she longed to see one person.

Dahyun stood off to the side waiting patiently for Tzuyu for greet those who passed on before her. Eventually the crowd thinned out, all that was left was Dahyun looking at Tzuyu with heart eyes.

It was only a few month apart but it felt like a lifetime to both of them.

"Hey" Tzuyu said shyly.

"Hey yourself." Dahyun replied "looking good."

Tzuyu looked down and recognized her younger self. "Thanks."

"C'mon my love, let's go home." Dahyun led them into an eternity together.
