"Mom and Dada, I want to try commuting po."

 

 

 

I casually said kaya napatigil sa pagsubo sila Mommy and Dada. We were having our dinner now. Ang sarap nga ng mga food tonight eh, Cochinillo and Kare-Kare. Yummy!

 

 

 

There's no particular occasion naman. Sadyang ganito lang talaga ang everyday handaan sa bahay. My Dada is a famous Chef kasi kaya alam niyo na, unli masasarap foods everyday, everynight!

 

 

 

It's a good thing that I got my Mommy's metabolism, though. If not, I'll be fat as hell with how much I lamon. I mean, there's nothing wrong with being fat, okay? Please don't cancel me so early in this chapter.

 

 

 

Anyway! Aside from having a fast metabolism, I also exercise. That's why I have this super duper ultra mega hot premium pro max yummified body.

 

 

 

Like hell yes! Tinalo ko pa si Ivana Alawi sa iness. My body is to die for. Tutulo talaga ang laway mo kapag nakita mo ako.

 

 

 

Pero enough about me na. I don't want to sound so mahangin. Even though may maipagmamalaki naman talaga ako. I want to be humble. Wait, scratch that, I am already humble. Pinalaki kasi akong humble ng mga parents ko hehe.

 

 

 

"Uhm sweetie, sure ka?" It was Dada who asked that.

 

 

 

Dada ang tawag ko sa other Mom ko. I have two Moms and they are both gorgeous as hell. Kaya it's also a given that their daughter– which is me! Is also one heck of a beautiful being. Walang binatbat si Aphrodite sa'kin. Anyway, back to being humble.

 

 

 

I sipped on my Cabernet Sauvignon– a very, very cheap wine let me tell you but it gets the job done. Then I answered Dada.

 

 

 

"Super yes po, Dada. Gusto ko po maexperience kung paano sumakay sa public people's small truck? No wait, I believe there's a proper term for it. What's it called again?"

 

 

 

I digged into my mind, snapping my fingers. Oh my gosh, nakalimutan ko na kung ano ang tawag sa mga sinasakyan ng mga commuters.

 

 

 

I just heard it from my classmates who also commute but I forgot about it now. I pouted. "I forgot the term po."

 

 

 

"It's called a jeep, anak." My Dada answered, leaning on the back of her chair while pinching the bridge of her perfect pointed nose.

 

 

 

Kahit na sinabi ko na my Dada is gorgeous, hindi din naman maipagkakaila na she also embodies a pogi aura. Kaya siguro hulog na hulog si Mommy sakanya.

 

 

 

My face brightened. "Oh, right! A jeep! A public commuter's jeep!" Kaya pala I forgot the term. I always mix it up with the exclusive car brand, Jeepney Wrangler.

 

 

 

"Yeah. But I don't think I will let you, Sweetie." Biglang pagtanggi ni Dada and I was surprised. She never refuses me before!

 

 

 

"What? Why po?" I asked incredulously.

 

 

 

"Hindi lang naman sa safety mo, Anak. But I'm mostly worried about the... others."

 

 

 

My brows automatically risen. What does she mean by that?

 

 

 

"What do you mean by that?"

 

 

 

"Anak, you are your Mommy's daughter after all." This time, sabay na kami ni Mommy na nakataas ang kilay sakanya. She immediately raised her hands, surrendering. Under 'yan kay Mommy eh.

 

 

 

"And what does that supposed to mean ha, Alexus Xim Yu?"

 

 

 

"I mean no harm, my Loves. But I'm just saying na our daughter Karina here won't last a single minute riding on a jeep."

 

 

 

"Are you underestimating my daughter ha?"

 

 

 

"Love ko, ang anak mo na yata ang pinakamaarte na babaeng nakilala ko next to you– aray!" Hmmp,  Dada! What a judgemetal person you are! Serves you right! Now take Mommy's wrath!

 

 

 

"Are you saying that we're maarte ha? Gosh! Elegante lang kami but we're not ignorant! My daughter Karina here can definitely ride that jeep!"

 

 

 

"Yes, Dada! Napakajudgy mo!"

 

 

 

Wala nang nagawa pa si Dada nang mag-tag team na kami ni Mommy. I'm taking back what I said earlier. Hindi pala under si Dada kay Mommy. Ngunit pareho siyang under saming dalawa.

 

 

 

It was the next day after that and this would be the day that I will be commencing 'Project Commute'. I'm excited!

 

 

 

I already asked my other classmates about the essentials in commuting kaya I'm already settled and ready to go na!

 

 

 

Naglaan na din ako ng pamasahe. They didn't exactly tell me how much though so I just assume na a few one thousand bills is enough? If not, maybe I can pay through card naman, right? I sure do hope so. I don't want to end up walking alone kung kulang pa! Our bahay is so malayo kaya!

 

 

 

My most awaited time of the day was finally here– dismissal! But first, I took my time fixing my things. Nag retouch na din ako kasi I don't want to look haggard and oily. Yuck!

 

 

 

"Karina, sure ka ba talaga sa mga desiyon mo sa buhay?" I heard my best friend, Ningning. I looked at her. She looks like she's laughing at me. Dedma nalang ako. Palibhasa she's so privilege. Eww.

 

 

 

I flipped my hair. "Of course naman. Unlike you, I wanted to experience this kind of stuff."

 

 

 

She chuckled, rolling her eyes. "Whatever. Just don't reklamo lang sa'min when you found the so-called experience awful."

 

 

 

A hand patted my shoulders. It was Yeji, my other best friend. "Hayaan mo na, Ning. Let our Lasallian  Rich Kid Princess here do what she wants."

 

 

 

"That's right!"

 

 

 

I'm regretting my decisions now.

 

 

 

When I asked my classmates, I did not expect that I needed to walk a few meters pa sa sakayan ng jeep talaga. My Gosh! Walang saysay tuloy ang ni-retouch ko kanina.

 

 

 

I feel so yucky and I probably look like one too!

 

 

 

Luckily, I found a convenience store.

 

 

 

Pumasok ako sa loob and my face immediately cringe in disgust by how vile it looks like inside. My goodness! Is this even a convenience store? It looks more like of an inconvenient store!

 

 

 

Parang pinasok ng isang napakalakas na bagyo tapos may nangyaring napakalaking gyera and then after that it was an empty warzone na ginawang tambayan ng mga ibon at iniputan ng ilang beses.

 

 

 

The aftermath, this horrible inhumane store.

 

 

 

But uh! Kaya ko to! I'm Karina Yu!

 

 

 

"Hello, Miss Bewtipul! Bibili ka ba?" May lumapit na isang lalaki sa'kin. My already sour mood even turn into a bigger sour mood sa nakita. Is he the owner? Kasi his face really reflects to how the place looks– ugly. Ugh!

 

 

 

I kept my composure and mum my mouth. Baka may masabi pa akong karumal dumal like how this place is. Hindi naman ako masyadong mapanglait. Bad 'yon. I have manners. 

 

 

 

"Can I use your bathroom?" I pointed to the door that has a punit-punit sign of 'CR (male/female)'. Ni hindi man lang pinagseparate!

 

 

 

"Sori miss bewtipul! For customers only lang po 'yan."

 

 

 

I mentally rolled my eyes. May customers only pang nalalaman. I doubt that this place even gains one! Mas mukha pa itong sinabugan ng atomic bomb sa labas.

 

 

 

"Fine!" Lumakad ako papuntang cleaning aisle. I took five cleaning solution, wiping cloth and even shampoos and soap. Pagkatapos nagproceed na ako sa counter para bayaran lahat.

 

 

 

"800 pesos po lahat, Miss Bewtipul." Mabilis kong kinuha ang isang libo sa wallet and handed it to him.

 

 

 

"Keep the change." I said. When he was about to put the cleaning tools inside the plastic, pinigilan ko siya.

 

 

 

"Don't bother bagging it. Binili ko talaga lahat 'yan para sa'yo."

 

 

 

"Ho? Miss Bewtipul?"

 

 

 

"Can you please stop calling me that?" Naiirita na'ko. "And use those cleaning tools to fix the nasty look of your store. Nagmistulang haunted house na ito sa sobrang pangit."

 

 

 

I started walking to the bathroom before glancing at the owner once again, who looks shocked and offended. Well, I don't care. "And use those shampoos and soap too. Linisin mo na din pati 'yung sarili mo."

 

 

 

When I get inside the stall, halos maduwal na ako sa karumihan nito. My God! Ang dugyot-dugyot! Just when I thought outside was the worst, may mas iwo-worst pa pala!

 

 

 

Ang panghe din! Hindi kinaya ng Gucci perfume ko ang baho!

 

 

 

Dali-dali nalang akong nag-retouch and I think  pwede na akong sumali sa olympics nito kung pabilisan lang din naman ang kategorya.

 

 

 

"My God, Manong! Also fix your bathroom!" I shouted while I was making my way outside.

 

 

 

Nakita ko nalang siyang kumamot sa batok niya. Goodness! Kung ganito pala ka-stressful ang pagco-commute, I would have ridden my car already!

 

 

 

Para naman akong nabunutan ng tinik once na tuluyan na nga akong nakalayo sa traumatic place na 'yun. I would never go back to that atrocious place again. And even if I did, it would take a whole ing lot of miracle for that to happen.

 

 

 

I walked and walked. Para nga akong isang model na lumalakad sa runway. My chest is out, my stomach is in and my chin is tucked while I take each step with elegance and co
