Almost There

Unrequited Love

Kyung Mi sat in her cozy corner of the cafe, her fingers tracing the edges of the worn notebook. The pages held secrets—lyrics, dreams, and the unspoken ache that had taken root within her.

It had been nine months since she first met the members of Super Junior. Two months of Yesung’s visits, his laughter blending seamlessly with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. He spoke of plans—a cafe for his family in Seoul, a place where memories would bloom like delicate petals. Kyung Mi, ever the silent observer, listened intently, jotting down notes as he shared his vision.

And then there were the songs—the ones she kept hidden, nestled between the lines of her notebook. Songs that whispered of longing, of stolen glances, and of a heart that beat in sync with Yesung’s voice. Eunhyuk, with his keen eyes, had noticed the shift in her demeanor. He gently, unraveling her secret with a knowing smile. The notebook, forgotten in their shared dorm, had betrayed her feelings.

“Why were you asking if Yesung was busy?” Eunhyuk had asked, his tone conspiratorial. Kyung Mi blushed, her gaze drifting to the window where raindrops danced. Yesung hadn’t visited the cafe in weeks, leaving her heartache unspoken.

‘I miss you, Oppa,’ she thought, her fingers brushing the inked words on the page.

The phone rang, jolting her from her reverie. She answered without checking the caller ID, her heart fluttering.

“Yeoboseo?”

“Hey Berry!” Eunhyuk’s voice echoed through the line. “Busy?”

“Not really. Shouldn’t you be the one recording today?”

“How’d you know?”

“Uhm, well…”

“You’ve been talking to Yesung-Hyung, haven’t you?” Kyung Mi teased, imagining Eunhyuk’s grin. “Bet you’re blushing.”

“Stop it, Hyukkie! Soo-Oppa spilled the beans.”

“Mhmmm…and why did he tell you?”

“Because I asked if Woonie-Oppa was free to help with my song.”

Eunhyuk chuckled. “I knew it! Well, ready your private room. We’re all coming over tonight.”

“But everyone’s busy!”

“We’re free. Open mic night, huh? Sing your heart out.”

Kyung Mi hesitated. “And the song…”

“You’ll sing it tonight?”

“Yeah.”

“Relax. Everything will be fine. Teuki-Hyung, Heechul-Hyung—they’ll be there.”

“Hee-Oppa’s leaving for the military soon.”

“Yes, and that’s our reason to gather at your cafe.”

As the rain tapped against the window, Kyung Mi closed her notebook. Tonight, melodies would spill from her lips, carrying secrets and unspoken confessions. And perhaps, just perhaps, Yesung would hear the echoes of her heart in every note.

The cafe hummed with anticipation, and Kyung Mi wondered if love could find its voice in a song.

Hey everyone! Thanks for reading ! How is it so far? Any comments? Suggestions? Requests? I'm kind of thinking of adding some female friends for Kyung Mi but I haven't come up with them yet. Let me know if you want to be one and a short biography? Thanks!

Chapter 2: So she actually saw her cousin! That was a small twist. She has great cousins who support her no matter what. And she is opening a cafe, she must be really nervous. Her birthday is gonna be a special with her cousins and friends to celebrate with.

Chapter 1: Kyung mi seems like a very sweet girl and Hana as well preparing such cool gift to her friend. I am not sure but it seems that Kyung Mi enjoyed the concert more than she acknowledges. Excited to read more!
