Hyukjae should tell Eunhyuk. Today. Because Eunhyuk's expecting it. Donghae had told him: Hyukjae was finding answers. With magic.

However, Eunhyuk is... happy at the moment. With attention. Happier with interactions. Conversation. Hyukjae's excitement engages. Infects. He's gotten a yellow pair of pajamas. For Eunhyuk. They weren't yellow initially.

Hyukjae had dashed. To the closet. Took out a pair. Changed the colours. Showed them to Eunhyuk after his bath. Eunhyuk appeared content. To be matching the duckling.

Then, eating burgers is filled with wonder. Because Eunhyuk's never had any. Hyukjae's thrilled for him. To try it. Taste it. After Eunhyuk takes the first bite... Hyukjae laughs. Claps. Celebrates. It gets Donghae laughing too.

Eunhyuk clearly likes it. He's so pleased.

Hyukjae chatters away. About all the different burger places. He tells Eunhyuk: they absolutely must try them. The other nods. His eyes flick to Donghae: as if to ask. Donghae readily agrees. His heart swells. Because Eunhyuk's smile is bigger. His teeth show.

It feels wonderful to see: that Eunhyuk's well. His eyes are fixated. On whoever is talking to him. It's mostly the babbling Hyukjae. But a smile never leaves his lips. And Donghae's admiration for Hyukjae grows.

The whole hour passes. With not a care about anything. Just joy. Comfort. They have pudding. Feed each other strawberries. Until... they have nothing more to eat.

The worry returns.

Hyukjae's clearing the table. He gives Donghae an uneasy glance. Moves to the counter. Donghae steps after him. Squeezes his shoulder. Leaves a kiss on his cheek. Hyukjae tries to smile. Turns from the sink.

Their guest is hugging the duckling. It's been seated beside him. At the table. Eunhyuk's eyes shift. Onto them. 

"Eunhyuk..." Donghae says. "There's something we wanted to talk to you about..."

Eunhyuk nods. Sits straighter. Sets the duckling right in its chair. Smiles.

"Okay."

That makes Donghae's heart twinge. Hyukjae hurries around the counter.

"Eunhyuk, um, but um, do you want to wait in the living room? Me and Donghae will clean up first, and then we'll come sit with you soon."

"Eunhyuk should do the dishes?"

"Oh, no," Donghae says. "You go and relax. Take your duckling."

The other gets up. Picks up his duckling. Blinks at them. From behind its head.

"How long must Eunhyuk relax for?"

Donghae looks at Hyukjae. To determine a reasonable time. But Hyukjae lets out a small giggle.

"You're so funny," he says. "Eunhyukee, you can relax for thirty minutes."

Eunhyuk slowly nods. Positions the duck. So it's under his chin. "Okay."

He pads along. Disappears past the doorway. Hyukjae's anxious expression's back. Donghae sighs. Takes his arm. Tugs him into a hug.

"Is your headache gone?"

"Yeah."

"That's a relief."

Hyukjae hums. Mumbles, "I think... I get why you would all say I'm cute when you used to laugh at me."

"Sorry?" Donghae pulls back.

Hyukjae's pouting. "You'd laugh at stuff I said and say I'm cute."

"Hyukjae, that wasn't... we weren't laughing at you...?"

"I know. But... I really get it now because Eunhyuk's so nice and polite and everything... and it's sometimes funny, the stuff he says, so it's really cute..."

Donghae chuckles. Adoringly pinches his cheeks. Kisses him.

"You're cute, baby."

They let Eunhyuk snuggle up. On the yellow sofa. With the yellow duckling.

In the yellow pajamas... one might almost miss him. If not for his head. The duckling's orange beak. Feet. The pink cheeks. Black eyes.

"So you came from a... lab?" Donghae asks.

He's sitting on the floor. Arms around Hyukjae. Holding him to his chest.

"Eunhyuk is an android. Eunhyuk had to be taught everything. So Eunhyuk did not understand where it was. What was happening. There was a car. Hyukjae brought Eunhyuk to his and Donghae's apartment. They looked after Eunhyuk. Hyukjae started to teach Eunhyuk because Eunhyuk is Hyukjae's property."

Hyukjae's hand grips Donghae's arm.

"So... you were made... entirely?" Hyukjae says. Quietly. Apprehensively. "Every... part of you? There wasn't -- you don't have... a mother... a father?"

Eunhyuk's eyes widen. He shakes his head instantly.

"Eunhyuk did not know that information. So Eunhyuk asked Donghae." His eyes fall on Donghae. "Eunhyuk does not have family or relatives, or biological parents. Eunhyuk never had anyone."

He seems to want a... confirmation. From Donghae. But then he blinks. His brow furrows lightly.

"Today's Donghae is a different Donghae than yesterday's Donghae."

"Yes, I'm sorry," Donghae says. "Um, we're very sure now that... that's a different person, and a different place that you came from."

Eunhyuk gazes at both. Donghae notices: his eyes move over their position. Donghae's arms. How they're locked around Hyukjae. His hands on Donghae's arms.

Eunhyuk holds the duckling closer.

"Eunhyuk... came to a different place. There is a different Donghae. There is a different Hyukjae. But they are still together. They are married. And Eunhyuk is..."

His words end. There's puzzlement in his voice. A... loneliness. Donghae regards him sorrowfully. Until Hyukjae tilts his head back. His large eyes blink at him. Adorably.

"We're married?"

"Huh?" Donghae realizes. What Eunhyuk said. His heart races. He nudges Hyukjae's nose with his. "Baby... wouldn't you know if you were married?"

"I don't know. Who married me? Did you marry me?"

Donghae fears he'll blush. The other must be teasing. Hyukjae's got that wide innocent stare. Sometimes, Donghae's not sure. Because Hyukjae has been a mannequin. For centuries. He's confused about a lot. Lost, often.

"No, I did not," Donghae anwers. Pecks his lips. Tries. Not to smile like an idiot. He turns his gaze back. To Eunhyuk--

Hyukjae shifts more. Locks eyes with him. His smile is soft. Beautiful. His cheeks have gone rosy. Love swims in his warm gaze.

"Will you marry me?"

Donghae's heart skips. Several beats. It starts pounding. He inhales--

Then notices: Hyukjae... hasn't got a clue...

Donghae smiles. Gently captures Hyukjae's lips. Kisses them lovingly.

He parts. Meets his ey
