Momo sighed as she checked her outfit one last time

 

Tzuyu had told her that she had to wear something comfortable because they were going to play, she just hopes that her choice doesn't look like pajamas in the eyes of the other moms

 

She had decided to take this situation as a job, she has to play her role as 'mom' as far as Tzuyu tells her, that way her heart can be kept under lock and the stupid thoughts can stay in her head

 

Momo rings the doorbell and Mina welcomes her in an outfit similar to hers

 

Baggy pants, a sweatshirt for the cool morning and sneakers

 

Unfair

 

It's terribly unfair how good Mina looks in a casual outfit, while she looks like a misplaced scarecrow 

 

Mina looks at her confused and Momo realizes that she has been looking at her like an idiot in the entrance of her house

 

"S-Sorry, I missed a bit"  Mina laughs and she hurries inside to avoid any more embarrassment 

 

Great, the day is just starting and I've already ruined it

 

"Don't worry, I'm nervous too, it's the first time I'll see Tzuyu's friends and I want to make a good impression"  She nods and Tzuyu runs into the room with her backpack on her back, ready to leave

 

"Aunt Momo, Mommy, let's go! I already want to play with Dahyunnie!"  Momo can't help but smile at the girl's energy

 

As they leave the apartment, Mina takes Tzuyu by the hand and then the girl takes Momo's

 

The situation is nothing out of this world, but her mind betrays her and she crosses the first boundary, holding hands with the little girl, as she walks side by side with Mina, she wonders... if this could be real...

Momo almost growls when she sees the Park family at the entrance of the school, she loves them, but she doesn't want to explain why she is there 

 

"Good morning Mina, good morning Tzuyu and-" Sana paused, raised an eyebrow and her smile looked different 

 

"Good morning to you too, Momoring"  

 

"Good morning Dubu and Dubu's moms, now let's go in" She wasn't in the mood for Sana's teasing, but Tzuyu was still holding her hand and the little girl made her stop. The Alpha could see that the girl was looking at her with a frown and puffy cheeks 

 

"That's rude, say hello properly" She immediately could hear Sana's laugh, but Jihyo scolded her

 

She could only sigh when she saw that Tzuyu was waiting and Mina was holding her laugh too 

 

"Good morning Jihyo, good morning Sana and good morning... baby Dubu"  Dahyun pouted at the nickname but Tzuyu smiled and gave her a thumbs up and finally they were able to enter the school

 

She had the feeling that it was going to be a long day

The Alpha was grateful that the activities began immediately, that way she avoided interacting with unwanted people

 

The games were planned in different ways, some involving one of the adults and sometimes both, but there was always someone helping the children

 

Momo is not a competitive person, but she likes to do her job in the best possible way, resulting in a victory in the wheelie race and the sack race, she is not the most athletic person, but dancing helps her stay on form 

 

She smiled at Tzuyu's joy, the girl seemed very happy and with that, she could qualify her work as good or at least approving 

 

The games that involved manual dexterity and teamwork were something for Mina, she knows the competitive spirit of the Omega, so it was no surprise that they won a couple of rounds

 

Break time came and she tried not to interact with anyone outside of Tzuyu, Dahyun, Sana, Jihyo and Mina, this with the intention of avoiding questions, she's going to have enough with those of Sana and her friends

 

It seems that fate said 'I don't give a what you want' when one of the moms approached them 

 

"Good morning, excuse me, I'm Wendy's mom, she's in the same group as Tzuyu and Dahyun... you're their moms right?"   

 

"Yes miss, we are her mothers, my wife Park Jihyo and I are Dahyun's mothers"  Sana offered a handshake and Wendy's mother immediately agreed 

 

"Nice to meet you, I'm Park Soo-young, but you can call me Joy, it's easier" 

 

"Okay Joy, my name is Sana, Park Sana"  Joy shifted her attention to the other pair and Momo hurried to clarify the situation 

 

"Nice to meet you Joy, I'm Hirai Momo and I'm a friend of the moms here" Momo extended a hand and Joy accepted it but she couldn't keep the surprise from her face

 

"Wow, that's a surprise, it looks like Tzuyu loves you very much" Momo felt her heart bleed but she smiled anyway

 

"Thank you" 

 

Mina took advantage of the moment to introduce herself, but Momo couldn't listen anymore

 

Her head disconnected from reality to safeguard her sanity, it's her own defense mechanism, that way she avoids facing many situations and simply ignores the cruel reality

"Mo..." 

 

"Mom..." 

 

"Momo!"  

 

The Alpha came back to reality when she saw Sana's face in front of her with a look of concern, while all the gazes were on her

 

"Are you okay?"  Sana's voice didn't hide her concern, but Momo had already had enough self-pity for a lifetime 

 

"Yeah... sorry, I got a little lost... I'll go to the bathroom, my pleasure Joy"  She stood up without waiting for an answer and quickly left the place 

 

She looked at her reflection in the mirror and took a deep breath 

 

"Don't you dare cross another line Hirai, Tzuyu is not your daughter and that's not your family"

 

Pathetic

 

"You're here to fulfill your role and that's it, nothing more, nothing less" 

 

When her gaze felt a little more determined she was able to leave the bathroom

 

"Let's finish the job"

The rest of the day felt a little more normal for her, she tried to comply with the games and do her best work, just that, achieving the objectives of the task at hand, without stupid emotions getting in the way and although she could see the disappointment on Tzuyu's face at not receiving hugs or pats on the head, she knew this was for the best

 

But apparently, destiny wants to her up as much as possible, because the last activity is... a letter, a letter from parents to children and vice versa 

 

She can't do that, she can't use her emotions to express what she feels or it will be a disaster, so... she gets up, tells Mina to take care of it and leaves the room in a hurry, she knows there will be consequences, but there are boundaries that must not be crossed

She knows she's beyond screwed when she sees Mina giving her 'the look' while carrying Tzuyu who seems to be crying in her arms. Dahyun follows her as she tries to cheer up her friend while Sana and Jihyo look at her clearly confused and angry

 

Momo knows that Mina is furious when she walks past her and goes straight home without saying goodbye to her, she doesn't insist, she knows she shouldn't

 

However, Sana and Jihyo go straight for her and Dahyun looks upset too 

 

"You made Chewy cry" Dahyun hits her leg and sticks out her tongue 

 

"You're mean!" Momo sighs and leans in front of the girl 

 

"Yes... I am" Dahyun frowns and walks away from her as Jihyo greets her in her arms and lifts her up

 

"What was that!?"  Sana is relentless as always and she knows she's holding back because she can read it in her body language, Sana wants to do a lot more than just ask her questions 

 

"It's simple, I'm not her mother"  She doesn't want to sound so cold, but she does and Sana doesn't hold back now  

 

Her cheek is burning and possibly she has blood on . Sana looks at her with fire in her eyes, ready for a fight 

 

"You're stupid Momo!... do you know how sad she felt when she saw you leave? The poor girl wrote her mom's letter while she was crying, it doesn't even understand because it was ruined" She suppresses her emotions again and nods. But Sana wants more, something more than that, she had never seen Sana so upset

 

"You have nothing to say!?"  She slowly shakes her head and Sana loses control again, but before she can do anything, Dahyun grabs her pants and stops her 

 

"You shouldn't fight mommy!" Momo sighs in relief and silently thanks the little girl

 

Sana gives her one last death glare and takes Dahyun in her arms 

 

"This isn't over..." The Park family walks away and Momo sighs 

 

"I need something nice to eat..."

Momo is thankful that at least it's Friday, which means she won't have to face Mina and Tzuyu right away  

 

After a nice meal at some random restaurant, she decided to go straight to her study and stay there for the rest of the day

 

At the end of the day she receives a message from Sana and immediately knows that it is not good news

 

'You better be at home tomorrow' 

 

Momo knows what it's like to play with fire and she knows when burning is imminent, so she sighs and replies 

 

'Okay...'

The Alpha is lying on her couch with a bowl of chips while she watches some show that she doesn't really care about but at least fills the silence of her apartment

 

The doorbell rings and Momo slowly stands up as she stretches, she is ready to dodge the flames

 

Sana doesn't greet her and walks in without asking, while Jihyo greets her quickly following her wife closely. Nayeon and Jeongyeon greet her and look at each other uncomfortably, possibly sensing the tension

 

"Come in 2Yeon, welcome" 

 

Jeongyeon sighs and Nayeon follows her, they all gather in the living room and take seat

 

Momo goes straight to her kitchen and gets glasses and a carton of juice, pours another bowl of chips, and asks Jeongyeon to help carry everything to the living room

 

The tension is easily noticeable, but Momo ignores it and continues eating in the awkward silence

 

"Do you want chips?"  Momo offers and Sana explodes

 

"How can you keep acting like this!?"  

 

"Sana" Fortunately for her, Jihyo reassures her and it's at that moment that she realizes that Dahyun is not with them

 

"Where's Dubu?"  

 

"We leave her with Mina, we don't want her to get scared again when her mom loses her composure" She nods and continues eating

 

Sana wants to strangle the Alpha but Nayeon saves her this time

 

"How about we talk like decent people before someone gets hurt?"  The Omega takes the bowl from her hands and places it on the table

 

Momo feels uncomfortable standing in the center and with all of them looking at her with nothing to eat 

 

"Well, what do you want to talk about then?"  Sana sighs but that's the signal 

 

"Explain what happened yesterday..." The Alpha shrugged her shoulders and looked anywhere but in her eyes 

 

"I already told you, I'm not her mother, I'm just taking care of her" 

 

"That's absurd Momo, I know you love her and she loves you, you don't have to act like this..." Momo knows she has the advantage, she just has to be patient 

 

"Chaeyoung and Mina are her mothers and if you want to forget about that fact that's fine, but I don't" 

 

"That has nothing to do with it, you just had to write her a letter and receive hers, how much did it cost you?"  

 

Momo clenched her jaw, she knows that Sana is right, but she must not let her emotions dominate her in any case 

 

"The dynamic was between parents and children, not the mother's friend" Sana stood up and faced Momo

 

Jeongyeon and Jihyo were ready to stop them and avoid something 'serious'

 

"Stop lying about it, do you know how sad Tzuyu is? The poor girl barely eats" Her heart tightened but she can't lose control 

 

"Mina is angry, but above all disappointed and very affected to see her daughter like that..." Sana took a deep breath and softened her gaze 

 

"They love you very much Mo, possibly they are waiting for you right now" She tried to take her hand, but Momo moved away 

 

"They're Chaeyoung's family, not mine, I can't keep intruding like that" Sana frowned and Momo knows it's a sign of frustration

 

"That doesn't make sense, you're her friend Momo, you're not getting into anything" 

 

"Of course I am, Tzuyu isn't must get so close to me, I'm her mom's friend, that's all" Momo knows she's running in circles, but she can't get out of that line 

 

"But she loves you, tell me another reason why would she take you to fathers day?"   Momo drowns in the truth and even if she wanted to deny it, she can't, because she already knows 

 

"She loves you as much as her mom" 

 

"But I'm not" Momo knows she's winning when Sana groans and sighs, while trying to contain her tears of frustration 

 

"I don't understand your problem..." 

 

"No one asked you to do it" 

 

Silence filled the room and although Momo hates fighting, she knows it's necessary, she must not get emotional or will collapse

 

"You know... since college I realized that something happened with you, but I have no idea what, you never wanted to tell me and then you walked away" Sana scoffed as tears ran down her cheeks 

 

"You don't trust us?"  

 

"We all have problems, I wasn't going to bother you with mine" Sana snorted, completely confused and stressed

 

"You're not going to tell us anything, are you?"  Momo shooked her head, but she couldn't look anyone in the eye

 

Sana kicked the floor and sat on the couch again while Jihyo hugged her and Momo mentally congratulated herself

 

Fortunately the silence didn't last too long and she thanked Nayeon in her mind

 

"Well... now I think we can talk about more cheerful topics..." Nayeon tried to change the mood 

 

"Although Sana and Jihyo already know, I want to break the news to you myself Momo" 

 

The Alpha nodded and gave her her full attention, ignoring Sana and Jihyo's glare. Nayeon took Jeongyeon's hand and counted to three 

 

"We're going to be parents!"  They both exclaimed out loud with huge smiles and Momo felt genuinely happy for them 

 

"Congratulations guys!"  Momo pulled them closer for a hug, careful of Nayeon's belly

 

""I'm really happy for you, I wish you all the best" The three of them separated and tried to continue the meeting without fights

The meeting progressed without further mishaps, Nayeon and Jeongyeon told the details of the pregnancy and gave her an invitation to the baby shower, they both looked very happy although Sana and Jihyo not so much (She knows it's her fault)

 

"You better be there or I'll come for you" Momo rolled her eyes 

 

"Don't worry, I'll be there" Nayeon smiled widely and said goodbye to her along with Jeongyeon

 

"Good night Momo, take care of yourself" Jihyo left the apartment, waiting for her wife, but Sana stopped in front of Momo, in a last attempt to get something

 

"Just tell me who is your problem with, Tzuyu or Mina?"  Momo smiled at her and patted her head

 

The problem is me 

 

"Good night Sattang" 

 

Momo waved her goodbye and closed the door, finally able to breathe again. She knows that it is a matter of time. She knows that at some point she is going to break and also knows that the most difficult part is still to come... facing Mina and Tzuyu

 

But if she is good at anything, it is at running and avoiding reality... and this time... will be no exception

Momo runs away from her apartment on Sunday and looks for something to do

 

In the end she decides to do some sightseeing in the city center, go shopping and visit some restaurants. When finally the sun goes down on the horizon she decides to go back to her apartment

 

Momo doesn't know what to do, she knew that the consequences would be harsh, but she never imagined how difficult all this would be

 

Why doesn't she accept that she loves Tzuyu?  

 

Because that would mean betrayal, betraying her friendship with Chaeyoung, betraying her own principles and betraying her own determination not to act on her feelings

 

Mina and Tzuyu deserve someone brave, someone who is able to fight for their love and who gives them comfort and joy when they need it most, not someone who makes them cry and rage for fear of expressing her feelings

Mina deserves someone capable of loving her without fear, without doubts and determined to conquer her heart

Tzuyu deserves someone who can tell her how much they love her, filling her with hugs, kisses and smiles

Momo takes her cell phone and calls Nayeon's number

 

"Momo?"  

 

"N-Nayeon" Her voice cracks and she's not sure why

 

"Are you okay?"  Momo takes a deep breath 

 

"Yeah... umm, I need you to do me a favor... I know it will be too much, but I'm counting on you"

 

"Okay?" 

 

"I need you to take care of Tzuyu for the next two weeks" 

 

"W-What?"  

 

"I'll find someone to take care of her after that, but I need time" 

 

"Momo-" 

 

"I'll talk to Mina when the time comes" 

 

"But-" 

 

"I'm aware that Mina won't like the idea, but I don't want to compromise any of you permanently" 

 

"Mo-" 

 

"Just give me a little time, will you?"  

 

She knows that she is being unfair, she knows that Jeongyeon is possibly going to look for her to kick her , but she doesn't care, not now

 

She hears Nayeon snort and knows that she has won  

 

"Okay... I'll talk to Mina, but you need to clear things up with her" 

 

"I know, thank you very much Nay" 

 

"Save your thanks, because as soon as I have my baby I'll kick your " A smile spreads across her face 

 

"I know... I'll be waiting then" Nayeon clicks her tongue but Momo knows she's smiling

 

"Good night Momo" 

 

"Good night Nayeon, regards to Jeong" 

 

And with that, the call ended and Momo sighed
