Momo closed the door and looked around the place, it looked a bit messy, but nothing too demanding, Tzuyu was a girl and sometimes she could be a bit careless

 

"Okay... time to work"  

 

After doing the laundry, dishes, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming a few areas, Momo sat down at the small desk that Mina had bought for her

 

She remembers that she had told her a thousand times that it was not necessary, but the Omega didn't listen and she assigned her a work area in her house

 

Momo decided to use it to value Mina's effort and work, so she brought her computer to work on managing her studio. After checking some e-mails and the new maintenance expenses and some extra accessories for the some of the rooms, her work was done

 

Momo leaned back on the chair and stretched her body like a cat, letting out a couple of sighs after feeling the relaxation in some of her tense muscles, she looked at the clock and could see that there were more than 2 hours to go to pick up Tzuyu at school

 

She stood up and went to the kitchen to check the pantry, she almost cursed when she saw that nothing was missing

 

Mina is a very cautious woman, every weekend she was in charge of making the pantry as wide as possible, trying to help her the most. Momo is happy that Mina is so considerate, but right now her mind feels restless, the longer she stays in this house more memories come back to her head

 

She walks out of the kitchen and back into the living room, her gaze meeting the large picture in the living room and the memories are burning in her mind again. Looking down, she finds a framed photo superimposed on a small space of a cabinet with a vase. Before she can think, her hands are already holding the photo and she caresses the glass longingly

 

Chaeyoung wraps her hands around Mina's waist from behind, a huge smile spreads across both of their faces

 

Momo almost laughs seeing that Chaeyoung is standing on the balls of her feet, curiously she was the Alpha with the shortest stature she had ever met, something quite funny to tell, but she had no right to mock, she didn't even feel sure to say her name

 

Memories invaded her head like a bullet again and for the first time since the accident, she allowed herself to remember everything from the beginning

*Flashback*

 

The first time that Momo met Chaeyoung was 15 years ago when she was 16 and the girl happened to be in the same dance studio as her, but apparently, she had some difficulties with some steps and movements

 

She slowly walked towards her and offered her help

 

"Hello, do you need help?"  The girl turned around a bit surprised, but she immediately recomposed herself 

 

"Em, well, actually yes, I don't understand some movements and the instructor doesn't really help me" She noods

 

"Okay, where do you have doubts?"  Chaeyoung made a couple of moves and Momo looked at her attentively 

 

"Okay, I think I understood your problem" 

 

Momo explained that her right foot should be pointed to facilitate a small turn and to land with the opposite leg with more stability

 

"Wow, you make it look so easy..." Momo quickly read the situation 

 

"Momo, Hirai Momo" 

 

A small laugh came from the other girl's lips and Momo looked at her in confusion 

 

"Sorry, don't be offended, but I think it's curious you know... Momo and peach..." 

 

"Oh, don't worry, I get it, they tell me all the time..." The roles were reversed and the shorter girl offered a handshake 

 

"Chaeyoung, Son Chaeyoung" Accepting the handshake, Momo offered her a smile

 

"Nice to meet you, I hope we can be friends"  

 

Their friendship started like this, clumsily and a little awkwardly, but little by little it grew stronger over time

Their lives only crossed in the dance studio and on some weekend outings, meanwhile, they both had their separate lives in high school, each with different group of friends 

 

Momo, Sana and Mina had known each other for some time, the three Japanese had a very special bond, due to the language, nationality, customs and other aspects they shared in common

 

So when Nayeon approached them in mid-high school it was a surprise, but a very good one. Her exuberant personality 'clicked' with them and she quickly managed to join the dynamic of the trio, and although there were some things she didn't understand, none of that stoped her rapid inclusion in the group of friends

 

To her misfortune or her fortune, Momo is an Alpha, which is why she tends to value the beauty of the Omegas around her and to top it off, her group consisted of pure Omegas. Maybe with another mentality, she would have allowed herself to enjoy the attention offered, but she wasn't like that

She never realized how or when, but she knew that at some point along the way she had fallen in love with one of her best friends

 

Momo knew that the possibility was more than obvious, she was an Alpha and they were Omegas, there was a huge range of probability, but what she didn't calculate was that she was going to be the one to fall first

 

The first signs were a bit confusing, because when Mina smiled, took her by the arm or maybe a hug, her heart began to beat faster and her hands felt more sweaty than usual. At first she decided to ignore it and continue life as normal, but the situation worsened

 

Now it was not only her heart, but also her mind began to think of how cute, beautiful, soft and amazing Mina is (you can't blame her), it seemed that her body and her soul had organized a revolt against herself, unleashing chaos in her head. Feeling totally lost, Momo went to Sana for help

 

She had barely told her 20 words at most and Sana stopped her to look into her eyes with a soft expression and Momo felt confused

 

"You're in love Mo" She looked at her with her head on the side and a slight frown on her face

 

"In love? Me? With whom?"  Momo swears she's not trying to deny anything, she just feels blank, unable to understand anything

 

Sana looked at her again and reached out to take her hand and lace their fingers together

 

"You don't have to be afraid of falling in love Momo, it's natural and very healthy" Momo was really trying to understand what was going on 

 

"Try to go step by step and discover your feelings at your own pace, nobody is going to pressure you, and if at some point you need to talk, you can trust me for anything" 

 

Sana smiled at her like a mother and the Alpha hugged her tightly, she still had no idea what her friend was referring to, but she was very happy to have her on her side

Gradually she realized what Sana meant...

 

Every time she looked at the youngest of her friends, she felt something in her chest, a bubbling sensation that made her feel like she might fly at some point

 

Her next few years until entering college felt like a blur, as she tried to accept her feelings and make sense of this new situation she was experiencing

They all had the same University in mind, but different careers, it was there, when she was finally able to accept her feelings, Momo was finally able to say that she was in love with Myoui Mina

 

She and Chaeyoung maintained their friendship within their dance classes, but with the university entrance process upon them, their schedules did not allow them to meet at any time outside of the studio and they gradually stopped meeting on weekends

 

When the results were published, an enormous euphoria and joy enveloped her group when they were all accepted into their respective careers

 

She and Sana shared faculty, Momo in dance and Sana in fashion design, while Nayeon and Mina preferred business

Their first year of college were chaos, between homework, projects and trying to stay social, it was really exhausting. It was difficult, but they managed to find time for everything

 

Momo was still in contact with Chaeyoung, but it was no longer possible to see her while following the hectic pace of the university

 

But one day, Chaeyoung called to told her that she had managed to get into the same university and better yet, the same faculty, in the career of art and painting. She couldn't help but scream of emotion and congratulated her for the achievement

Momo had already told her friends about Chaeyoung, but she had never introduced them properly, it was never necessary, but now she saw it as an opportunity to expand their group of friends 

 

Her feelings for Mina were a constant during all that time, but she was very cautious with them, she didn't want to bother the Omega and change their group dynamic, she felt happy seeing her happy and that was enough for her

 

While Sana, Nayeon and Mina went out to some party or meeting with the intention of having fun, Momo accompanied them but with the sole intention of making sure that Mina was okay... and of course, the rest of them

 

She thought about confess many times, but she knew that the Omega was not interested in romance at that time, that's why she chose to care for and safeguard Mina's health and well-being from afar, from a safe etiquette that allowed her to be close without going up in flames, because she knew it wasn't just a crush... she truly loved her

One meeting was enough to know she was screwed

 

It was a cold and cloudy day, but they had still decided to meet outside. Momo and the Omegas were waiting to meet Chaeyoung and her friends, the meeting was arranged through a text message

 

Chaeyoung had asked if she could go with her friends, who were Alphas just like her, but she swore they were decent people and Momo cautiously accepted the deal

 

Momo had no idea, but that day would be the beginning of a nightmare for her

She knew that the interest was going to be there, a group of Omegas and an Alpha and a group of pure Alphas was an event that rarely happened, but she never imagined the scope that this meeting would have

 

Momo greeted Chaeyoung happily and then introduced her to her group of friends, after which they all introduced themselves to each other and she could see a change in the atmosphere

 

Chaeyoung, Jihyo and Jeongyeon joined the group very easily, the dynamic between the 7 was really good, everyone had a role to play, even when they were in different careers, their understanding and chemistry was very good... until the romance started to happen

 

Momo couldn't help but notice it, some subtle touches, looks and many body language gestures that she had never seen in her friends. She noticed, but what hurt her the most was seeing Mina's look, her eyes had a different shine as she saw the smallest Alpha of their group, and every time they met, Momo could see it, the same look in Mina's eyes reflected in Sana and Nayeon's eyes 

 

Every time Jihyo basically took a breath, Sana's smile widened

 

Every time Jeongyeon made a joke, Nayeon would roll her eyes but a smile and a blush graced her face

 

Momo liked the role of spectator, but she never thought that the protagonist of the story would be Mina... with someone else

She's happy for them, at least she tries, because Momo likes that Sana and Nayeon have found love, but she can't say the same every time she sees Mina and Chaeyoung talking about business and art, not every time she sees Mina's smile directed at the shorter Alpha, not when she has thoughts that go against everything she believes

 

Momo never liked math, but she felt so stupid for not knowing how to add 2+2, it was basic math and she just didn't notice it

 

In her group there were three Omegas and four Alphas, it was obvious that someone was going to end up like this, but maybe she thought it wasn't going to be her and when reality hit, she realized that in reality... she was always the dumbest

Momo never dared to talk about her feelings with anyone else again, because she was afraid... afraid of losing Mina from her life, so she decided that maybe it was better to stay in silence, even if it was on one side 

 

After a few months, Momo was ready for this day... the day that Mina and Chaeyoung made their relationship official, but that was not all, as if that was not enough, Sana and Jihyo as well as Nayeon and Jeongyeon seized the moment to reveal what Momo already knew was going to happen... 

she was the only one abandoned by God

 

Little by little her group was dividing, the life as girlfriends required moments of privacy and shared quality time, for which those who didn't have a partner were excluded from that activities

Momo may seem slow and clumsy, but she can be quite capable when she puts her mind to it, so, she decided to focus on her studies in a desperate attempt to safeguard her heart and mind

 

She knows that she is the only one to blame for her current situation and she must face the consequences of her decisions, but that doesn't mean it hurts less

 

Momo focused fully on her studies, but she also knew not to worry her friends, occasionally meeting them for a break or for lunch, trying to act as normal as possible, unaffected by the obvious distance that existed

 

Sana texted and called her constantly, Momo knew that she was going to be the hardest to dodge. She was ruthless when it came to asking questions and Momo wasn't surprised when she started asking about Mina

 

Although it had been quite some time since Momo told her of her feelings for the youngest of the Japanese, Sana still had her doubts and tried to get something from her, but incredibly, she was able to dodge each bullet and come out of the interrogation unscathed, and after a couple of scoldings, Sana hung up and Momo smiled to herself 

 

"Maybe I should have studied acting..."

The rest of her college life boils down to four things, study, eat, 'make sure Mina was okay' and sleep, repeat

 

Her group of friends was very insistent with the motto 'You are young, let yourself go and enjoy', but she couldn't relate to that motto when she felt so pathetic as she watched Mina playing with Chaeyoung from the window of the building 

 

Momo was still loyal to her feelings, even if she knew it was in vain, her mind and heart couldn't look at anyone else, because... there was only one Myoui Mina

College is over and if Momo thought that was bad, the worst was yet to come...

 

In search of a more independent life, she decided to rent an apartment with the help of Nayeon and Jeongyeon. She had already got a job while finishing her last year of college, so she had some savings with which she could support herself for a while

 

She didn't do it on purpose, but she distance herself slightly from her friends even when they were living relatively close to each other

 

Momo had ever heard about defense mechanisms and she thought that hers was undoubtedly 'occupying yourself with something to forget about the other'

 

Momo being as pathetic as she is, remained loyal to her feelings for Mina all that time, even when she found out that Chaeyoung and Mina were about to get engaged, she didn't cry or complain, or even talk about it, she even had the luxury of joking about the situation. Even when Sana asked her what she thought, she had the audacity to say that she was over it and that she was very happy for them

 

She's not sure if she convinced Sana, but she knows she's not fooling herself

Mina had already finished her studies when Chaeyoung was in the last year of her career, but the short Alpha told her that there was no need to wait to be able to swear eternal love, and so they did

 

Momo could barely eat decently all week while Mina and Chaeyoung were already getting married... what a !

 

She found out that their parents helped them with the whole event, and of course, Momo being the pathetic that she is, she didn't cry, even when Mina came to give her the wedding invitation...

 

And how the hell was she going to tell her something when the Omega had the most enormous and beautiful smile that she had ever seen?  

 

All she could do was stare at the invitation in her hands in utter disbelief, wanting to wake up from this horrible nightmare

Of course she had to go, she couldn't let Mina down and cause her a sour moment on what was supposed to be the happiest day of her young life 

 

Momo still wondered if the Son's and Myoui's really agreed with this, but seeing them in the seats of the church, all of them with huge smiles and their cell phones filming the moment, she realized that maybe it was her unconscious screaming her repressed desires blaring in her mind

 

She doesn't think of herself as weak, but she doesn't think of herself as extremely strong either... but she knew she couldn't stand to see Mina and Chaeyoung kissing, so when they finished their vows, she discreetly turned around as she headed to the bathroom

 

She looked at herself in the mirror and could see the weaker version of herself, a completely broken version that even she herself didn't recognized, as tears rushed down her cheeks and ended up in the sink

 

That was the first time she cried

After accepting the harsh reality, Momo focused on her work even more, she took on various initiatives and projects, putting in double and triple efforts to make a name for herself as a choreographer and dancer

 

Her efforts paid off when the studio began to increase the demand thanks to her hard work

 

The owners and the manager on duty agreed to assign her as the new manager, but for Momo it was not enough, she needed something more, something that would not allow her to think about nothing more, she needed to get home so tired that she couldn't even see the worried looks in her friends' eyes 

 

Everybody acquire a vice when they don't find a healthy way to release their frustrations, some fall into drugs, some into alcohol, others prefer , but Momo became a workaholic 

 

When the situation became too much to bear worrying about her anymore, she decided to move, and with her accumulated savings, she bought an apartment not far from her previous location, but far enough to avoid worrying Nayeon and Jeongyeon with her appearances in the middle of the early morning

'Fate is a '

 

That's the definition she gave to it when she found out that Mina and Chaeyoung were her neighbors

 

Momo couldn't believe it, and her mind traveled to the past trying to find enough reasons for this punishment, even worse, Mina now had a daughter, but things got even better when Sana called her to let her know that 'Dahyun' was going to be two years old, very close to Tzuyu's birthday

 

"Dahyun? Tzuyu?... What are you talking about?"  

 

A simple question unleashed a storm in the form of her friends

 

It turns out that she was so immersed in her work that she didn't even realize that she was now an aunt, or worse yet, she didn't realize that Mina and Sana were now mothers

 

Time became an irrelevant variable for her, because it no mattered anymore, her youth was gone at the moment her stupid heart and stupid mind decided to cling to something impossible

 

Momo promised to catch up with them, but she had no intention of actually doing it, she didn't want to be a seventh wheel in the middle of their families. She tried to ignore the new discoveries and focus on her work again, it wasn't that difficult, it was already an old habit

 

She took marketing courses, trainings in the latest technology and so on, all with the firm intention of keeping her head away from others lines of thought. As is well known, Momo is a great saver, she didn't spend on parties, or alcohol, vacations and anything unnecessary

 

Her plan from the beginning was one, to be the owner of the studio and when she finally raised enough to make a good offer, she didn't think it twice. The owners accepted the offer with the condition of a clause of 25% of the profits for two years, Momo smiled and accepted

 

She had become good at math after not being able to add 2+2, a small loss could be compensated with an extra class and it would be a piece of cake

Her life took another turn when she became the owner, which meant that she had to do a staff assessment and decide who would stay and who would go, as well as needing a manager who would report directly to her

 

The search resulted in a young adult male, an Alpha at first glance, but with a very special personality 

 

Heechul gained her trust little by little, she assigned him the position, but she put him to test, a month would be enough to evaluate his ability and he didn't disappoint

 

His outgoing and humorous personality helped him endear himself to the users and the instructors themselves, who instead of seeing him as a boss, saw him as a friend, which made a lot of work easier

 

But not everything was good, at least not from her perspective, because now she had more free time, which led her to think about her life and the thousands of things she hadn't done, and worst of all, the goal of working that way it wasn't for financial gain, she just wanted to distract herself enough to don't think about her life

 

The last event she attended outside of work was Mina's wedding, she didn't even go to Sana's or Nayeon's, she didn't find out about their pregnancies or the births of their babies, those kinds of thoughts led her to question herself thousand things and she hated to do that

 

And now she was in what she's supposed to call home, but it feels empty... just like her

 

Before she can do anything about it, her phone rang and she quickly answered it, wishing Heechul had a hard time and she could go to work 

 

"Hello? Heechul? Do you need help?"  A small silence filled the line and then she heard a laugh... the same laugh that she loved and hated at the same time

 

"Sorry to disappoint you Momo, but it's just me" Momo doesn't need to hear the name, she knows it perfectly 

 

"Oh, hello Mina, do you need anything?"  A new laugh invades the silence and Momo swears that she can see her smile 

 

"Actually... I would like you to meet Tzuyu, she is very curious about her aunt who lives next door but she rarely sees her" 

 

Momo feels anxiety and scolds herself mentally for that, but in her mind, Tzuyu is the result of the consummation of Mina and Chaeyoung's love, and as bad as it sounds, she hates it, because it reminds her of all the decisions she made to end up like this, single, bitter, anxious and with workaholism

 

"Momo?"  Mina's voice reminded her that she hadn't given an answer

 

"Um, it's okay, is tomorrow afternoon okay with you?"  Momo can hear a squeal of delight from the other end of the line and a smile forms on her face

 

"Of course, I'll see you tomorrow Momo" The call ended and she couldn't help but let out a sigh 

 

"See you tomorrow... Mitang"
