Chapter 7

Lovers in Manila

Chapter 7

The taxi arrived and Seohyun opened the door. Kyuhyun held onto her arm and refused to let her go.

“Seohyun, hear me out, please…”

Seohyun turned around and held his hand.

“We should speak another time…we’re not in the right state of mind anyways…”

Seohyun slightly smiled and entered the cab. She shut the door and the taxi drove off disappearing into the dark city. Kyuhyun sighed and began walking back to the restaurant. Jiyeon was waiting for him outside.

“Kyuhyun…”

“Jiyeon, you’re awake?”

“I am now…we should leave…”

“We should…”

Jiyeon saw the whole event with Seohyun play out in front of her but she decided not to bring it up. She could tell Kyuhyun was deeply affected by Seohyun and she hoped he wouldn’t get too distracted while they were in San Francisco. Jiyeon was worried.

Moments later, Leeteuk arrived in their van and the group got in. They were a lot more somber compared to when they arrived. Leeteuk spoke up as they drove off.

“You guys alright? Was the food good?”

Jiyeon simply nodded and slowly shut her eyes. Kyuhyun stared outside the window thinking about the next time he’ll see Seohyun while Tiffany lay passed out in the back seat.

The taxicab dropped Seohyun in front of her apartment complex and she paid the hefty fee. The taxi drove off and disappeared as Seohyun typed in the code to access the complex. She closed the gate behind her and walked through the parking lot. She crossed the wet grass and arrived at the H-Section of the complex. She walked up the cement steps and arrived in front her apartment door. She could still feel head thumping after all the wine. She fumbled for her keys and carelessly dropped them.

“Crap…”

She bent down and picked up her keys and opened her door. The apartment was dark and damp as she proceeded to crash on the living room sofa.

“Dang…my car is downtown…”

Even though leaving her precious Prius downtown was a drag it couldn’t compare to the surprise act provided by Kyuhyun before she left the restaurant. She remembered his intense eyes and firm grasp on her arm.

“He really thinks he can bring up the past and sweep me off my feet again…”

Seohyun felt nauseous but she refused to vomit. The taste of alcohol lingered in but she pressed on. She slowly sat up and stared out her window. She couldn’t get the image of Kyuhyun’s face out of her mind. Even though she tried her best to resist him, his presence alone set shockwaves through her body. She burped loudly and slowly dozed off.

“You’re going to need to try harder than that, Cho Kyuhyun…”

Several days later…

Downtown San Francisco

While the crew was preparing the scene, Kyuhyun sat on the park bench going over his lines extensively. Jiyeon emerged from the set holding turkey sandwiches.

“Oppa…”

Kyuhyun looked up and saw her holding sandwiches. He smiled and took one.

“Why thanks…by the way…I haven’t heard you say that ‘word’ for awhile…”

Jiyeon sat beside him and bit into her sandwich. She spoke with full.

“What word?”

Kyuhyun chuckled.

“Chew your food…please…”

“My bad!”

“Silly Jiyeon…”

They both ate together and watched as the crew worked.

“So, what will happen to Ji Soo today?”

“Oh, well…he reunites with Mi Young and they go on a little date around the park…they reminisce about their romance back in Seoul and Ji Soo asks if he could be with her again…yet the audience will know about the irony about Mi Young’s current situation making their reunion tragic…”

Jiyeon nodded.

“Wow…how sad…”

“Tell me about it…”

Jiyeon could tell by Kyuhyun’s tone that he was very serious about his role in this story and with each scene he was acting in he would be placing his full heart and soul into it. Jiyeon replayed the scene he had with Seohyun several days earlier at the restaurant and how he remained frozen on the sidewalk as her cab disappeared into the night.

Even though Jiyeon envied Seohyun, she strangely found it comforting that Seohyun made Kyuhyun a better man. Jiyeon was used to picking up Kyuhyun from bars dead drunk or finding a different woman in his bed every morning but ever since they began working in San Francisco, he cleaned up his act and actually studied his lines. Jiyeon liked the current Kyuhyun and she hoped he wouldn’t change; yet she highly doubted that. Suddenly, Kyuhyun stood up from the bench.

“What is it, Oppa?”

“Donghae is here…”

Lee Donghae was the young, wealthy producer funding the drama and he was highly respected by the Korean entertainment business. It also helped knowing his father was the mayor of Seoul making him rise through the ranks fairly quickly. The crew and staff made swift bows to him as he confidently strolled by to speak with Kyuhyun.  Kyuhyun bowed to him and then shook his hand. Jiyeon bowed and observed him. Donghae looked younger than she expected. With his fair complexion, shiny white teeth, and dashing suit, she wasn’t surprised that he was the most eligible bachelor in Korea. Donghae spoke with a smooth tone.

“What’s up, Kyuhyun? Enjoying the work?”

“Certainly…”

“The staff and crew…treating you well?”

“Of course…”

Donghae smirked and leaned over and whispered into his ear.

“How’s our leading lady? Is she treating you…good?”

Kyuhyun was confused by his comment. Donghae eased back and winked at him. Suddenly, Tiffany wrapped her arms around Donghae’s shoulders.

“Hi Oppa!”

Donghae turned around and smiled. He embraced her tightly and caressed her face.

“How are you, darling?”

Jiyeon couldn’t believe how flirtatious she was. Kyuhyun looked to Jiyeon and rolled his eyes.

“I’m doing great, Oppa…just finally settling in and getting used to things!”

Tiffany looked to Kyuhyun

“My leading man has been very sweet and caring so I’ve been steadily improving in my work…”

Donghae turned and smiled at Kyuhyun.

“Why thanks Kyuhyun!”

“No problem…”

“Well then Tiffany if I could speak to you in private, that would be great…”

Donghae wrapped his arm around her waist and they walked off. Jiyeon spoke up.

“Tiffany is QUITE an actress, huh?”

“It’s typical…”

Kyuhyun sighed and returned to studying his lines.

“Oppa…”

“Yes?”

“You’re a good actor…”

Kyuhyun looked up to her and she smiled radiantly towards him. She turned around and returned to the van. He was moved by her compliment and deeply appreciated her work. He felt guilty he never spent time with her and felt like he was always holding her down. He was considering dating her but because of his insecurity towards the public and his unfulfilled love for Seohyun, he was conflicted. He sighed once again and returned to his lines.

It had been over week since Piolo had taken the board exam but he still couldn’t shake off his anxiety. After picking up his coffee, he took a corner booth at the end of the local Starbucks and quietly kept to himself. The soft jazz tunes kept him calm and reserved as he sipped on his hot beverage. The anxiety he was consumed with wasn’t fully over the recent mind-boggling exam he took but the idea that Seohyun’s old lover was in town. Just when he felt he had a winning chance with her, a trump card suddenly fell from the sky. He felt cursed. What made him even more self-conscious was the distant attitude she gave him during their trip to Napa Valley.

“Did I say something wrong?”

Sarah and her new boyfriend, Gerald, asked for Tiffany and Piolo to join them the past weekend to visit the luxurious wine country of California. It was an obvious attempt to have Seohyun and Piolo talking but Piolo was able to tell during the double date that Seohyun wasn’t playing along. He felt hurt and embarrassed at the same time and felt the whole trip was a tremendous waste of time and effort. He knew exactly who was on her mind.

“Kyuhyun…”

Piolo sipped his coffee again and mindlessly looked towards the customers exiting and entering the café when suddenly Seohyun entered. Piolo felt his heart beat faster.

“Seohyun?”

He hesitated for a moment if he should stand up and greet her or ignore her. Sadly, he didn’t have enough courage to speak to her. He lazily sighed and looked out the window hoping she would get what she needed and leave. Piolo didn’t have the energy to speak with her.

“Hi Piolo…”

Piolo turned and saw Seohyun’s angelic smile.

“Oh Seohyun, hi…”

“Do you mind if I join you?”

Piolo was reluctant to let her sit but he weakly gave into his urge to have her around.

“Sure thing…”

“Thanks…”

She was wearing a light sweater and worn-out denim jeans. He felt slightly comfortable knowing he was able to speak to Seohyun in person without the pressure of trying to impress one another.

“I didn’t get to speak to you after the Napa Valley trip, were you tired that day?”

Piolo nodded.

“I was actually…”

“I was too…”

They remained silent for an awkward moment then Piolo picked up the conversation.

“It’s just I’m really anxious about the results of my exam…I just want to know…”

“I’m sure you did fine…when do you find out?”

“Next week hopefully…I keep checking the website…”

“Was it hard?”

“I wasn’t as hard as I thought but it was really long so I’m not sure what I actually missed…I just wanted to finish it up once I got towards the last sections…I’m praying I wasn’t too careless…”

“Knowing you and how dedicated you are…you’ll be fine…”

“SEO HYUN!”

“Oh that’s my frap, wait a second, Piolo…”

“Sure thing…”

He watched her closely as she rushed to the front and took her drink. She smiled towards the barista and went over to the condiments table to grab some cocoa. He observed her and wondered why she wasn’t married or even in a relationship. With her innocent face and lovely body, a girl like her would have been married off quickly back in the Philippines. Just knowing she was available made his heart ache for her even more. It would be easy knowing she was unavailable so he could move on but knowing he had to compete for her heart was a drag. She sat down in front of him and sipped on her frozen beverage.

“Yummy!”

Piolo could feel his heart melt as she her lips and smiled.

“Piolo?”

“Yeah?”

Piolo could tell she was hesitating.

“Is there something wrong?”

“You remember the time we went to Fisherman’s Wharf?”

“Yes.”

“Then afterwards when I dropped you off at home…you kissed me…”

“Oh…Seohyun…I didn’t mean to…”

“No, it was fine…I just…well…would you like to go out again?”

Piolo was stunned. Seohyun looked down to her drink and squeezed it tightly.

“Sure thing, Seohyun…”

“I really feel comfortable being around you…I don’t why I was so down this past weekend but I promise to make it up to you…”

She looked up and smiled tenderly.

“Where would you like to go, Piolo?”

“Anywhere, remember, you are my tour guide here…”

Seohyun lightly laughed.

“That’s right…well…I guess I’ll think of something…are you free this weekend?”

“I am…”

Seohyun began to slowly stand up.

“Ok then, I will find you then…”

Seohyun bit her lip and smiled. Piolo nodded and Seohyun slowly disappeared from the shop. Piolo looked out the window and watched Seohyun get into her car and drive off. He was surprised by the turn of events and didn’t bother to question any of it. This was a rare opportunity that he wouldn’t want to lose. He sipped his coffee and smiled and thought to himself.

“I never had a girl ask me out before…”

Kyuhyun was strolling through the park, going through the dramatic scene where he reunites with Tiffany. As he walked he remained focused and visualized what he needed to do while being in character as Ji Soo. The director and crew remained silent and watched every move he delivered. He approached the bench as rehearsed and pulled out his cell phone. He slowly took a seat and began to go through his messages. He nodded, sighed and slowly closed his eyes to immerse himself in the pretty atmosphere of the park overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.

“Kyuhyun?”

Kyuhyun opened his eyes and was about to scold Tiffany for breaking the lines again when suddenly he found himself back in Manila, in front of the Rizal Monument. He confusingly blinked his eyes and scanned the area. It was as if he were transported back through time. Suddenly, a soft, gentle hand caressed his face and he looked to find Seohyun warmly smiling at him.

“It’s been so long…Ji Soo…”

Kyuhyun blinked again and found Tiffany looking at him and the camera rolling right in front of him.

“Oh…ah…yes…well…”

Kyuhyun began to stutter and the lines he thought he memorized suddenly disappeared. The director stood up from his chair and shouted out.

“CUT!”

Kyuhyun bowed his head down as the director approached him.

“Kyuhyun, what’s up?”

“Sorry, I was distracted…”

Tiffany looked over to Donghae who simply smiled back at her.

“Is everything alright then?”

“Yes, everything is alright…”

Yet deep inside, Kyuhyun was not in the right state of mind. The atmosphere the beautiful park produced distracted him and it was keeping him off focus. What was also bothering him was the last moment he shared with Seohyun before she deserted him back at the restaurant. He needed to see her again and tell her how he truly felt. The crew reorganized and Kyuhyun returned to shooting the drama.

Westfield Mall, San Francisco

Kyuhyun and Jiyeon strolled side by side through the crowded mall looking through the assorted malls. Jiyeon noticed Kyuhyun was real quiet as they traveled through the stores. Jiyeon decided to break the ice, as always.

“Nice to be a normal face in the crowd for once, huh?”

Kyuhyun looked straight ahead and pretended he didn’t hear her.

“Oppa, I know you heard me…”

“I did…it does feel nice to be a part of the crowd for once…”

They stopped by a clothing store and the purses mesmerized Jiyeon. She stood dumbfounded in front of window with her jaw slightly dropped. Kyuhyun whispered into her ear.

“Do you want it?”

She turned around and stared at him for a moment.

“Oh come on, Kyuhyun…I was just admiring it…don’t worry about me…”

Kyuhyun took her by the hand and brought her into the store. Kyuhyun spoke to the saleslady and asked Jiyeon to point out the purse she desired. Jiyeon, who was blushing immensely, guided the sales clerk to the item and Kyuhyun went ahead and purchased it for her. Kyuhyun had never done anything even remotely nice for her so she was simply shocked by his kindness. They exited the store together and Jiyeon had the shopping bag tightly grasped in her hand.

“Kyuhyun…”

“Don’t mention it…I wanted to be nice for once…since you’re the only person that’s always there for me…it was the least I can do…”

“Oh…”

She smiled warmly and tightly wrapped her arm around Kyuhyun’s. She rested her head on his shoulder and they walked side by side for rest of the night.

Tiffany was seated seductively on the hotel sofa couch as Donghae prepared the champagne in the kitchen. Tiffany called out to him.

“Donghae-oppa!”

“Yes?”

“What’s taking so long?”

Donghae finished preparing the drinks and snacks and quickly rushed over to her in the living room.

“You sure are an impatient one, huh?”

Tiffany winked and took a glass from the tray. Donghae took the other one and raised his up into the air.

“Shall we toast?”

“For what, darling?”

“For the rest of the drama to go smoothly…”

“I’ll toast to that…”

They lightly banged their glasses together and sipped the sparkling liquid. Donghae relaxed beside Tiffany and she nestled her head on his shoulder.

“I have to say being a producer does have its perks…”

Tiffany stared down at her glass and began to reflect on her actions that brought her where she was. Kyuhyun basically hammered the nail in the coffin when he described her as being “inexperienced” as an actress. Tiffany didn’t know exactly what she was doing and how to do it but she felt that she could get away with her looks and sassiness. Being seated beside the executive producer wasn’t her first rodeo in climbing the steps to fame but she was beginning to feel the slight sting of shame with every high-ranking executive she slept with. Donghae whispered into her ear.

“Did you want to fool around tonight?”

Tiffany looked up to him and smiled.

“Probably not tonight, my love…I’m tired…”

Donghae lifted his eyebrow.

“Are you serious?”

Tiffany could sense the hostility in his voice.

“Donghae…”

He rested his hand on her inner thigh.

“I suggest you wake yourself up then…”

He began to her thigh and the side of her neck. Tiffany shut her eyes as if it were a nightmare and let him have his way with her. He ed her blouse and exposed her left . He placed his hand up her skirt and began to rub the sensitive regions of her . He placed his hand inside her and began to finger her . She tried her best to keep herself calm but soon enough she began to .

Tiffany looked at herself through the reflection of the balcony window and remained motionless as Donghae fondled her. She wanted to cry but she didn’t want to show weakness or defeat. She only wished that one day she could have a peaceful life like Seohyun, yet, the taste of fame was far too great and she craved it.

Sarah was walking down the hallway leading to Piolo’s bedroom. She saw his bathroom door was slightly ajar and she lightly tapped on it.

“Kuya…”

She opened the door and saw him shaving.

“Oh wow…so…is there a date tonight?”

Piolo smiled and continued to shave.

“With Seohyun?”

“Yes.”

“Wow, and I thought you guys stopped talking recently…”

Piolo washed off his shaving cream and began to apply some after-shave. Sarah could smell the distinct cologne aroma and smirked. Piolo winked at her and walked over to his room to get changed.

“I don’t know what to say, Sarah…we ran into each other the other day at Starbucks and she asked me out…I couldn’t refuse…”

“I see…”

Piolo closed his door to get changed and Sarah remained outside.

“Kuya, do you really like her?”

Piolo spoke from behind the door.

“Of course…”

“I just…I don’t know…I know you…”

“What do you mean?”

Piolo opened the door and Sarah entered. She rested on the bed as Piolo combed his hair in the mirror.

“I know how you are with women…you’re too…trusting…”

“Sarah…”

Piolo sat beside her.

“Don’t worry about me, alright? Seohyun and I are both adults and I’m sure she would be honest with me if she wanted me only as a friend…”

Sarah looked up to him and smiled.

“Don’t worry…”

Sarah shook her head and embraced him tightly.

“I just don’t want to see you hurt like before…that’s all…”

Piolo shook his head and hugged his cousin.

“I’m sure that won’t happen again…”

The doorbell rang and Sarah released her embrace on her cousin.

“She’s here, Sarah…how do I look?”

Sarah inspected him and touched his smooth chin.

“Like an actor…”

“Oh please…”

Sarah kissed him on the cheek.

“Have fun, Kuya…”

Piolo smiled and hurried down the steps. Sarah watched as Piolo hugged Seohyun and walked together to her car. Sarah waved to them as they drove out of the neighborhood. As much as Sarah wanted Piolo to be happy, she knew how trusting he could be and she could only dread seeing his heartbreak. She could only trust the idea that Seohyun was kind and wouldn’t lead him on.

Half Moon Bay, CA

The waiter placed the plates of steaming lobster in front them, which made their eyes twinkle brightly. Seohyun had found a beautiful seafood restaurant overlooking the magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean on the Internet and she felt it would be a cute spot to spend time with Piolo. Even though Kyuhyun’s presence could felt, she felt at peace and comfortable beside Piolo. She watched happily as Piolo broke into his tasty share of lobster. As he broke through the shell and ate the meat inside, he looked up to find Seohyun’s angelic smile hovering over him.

“Seohyun? Aren’t you hungry?”

“Oh, I am…I eat slow so don’t mind me…”

“I see…this food is AMAZING! Thanks for taking me here, Seohyun…”

“Of course…”

Piolo was stunned by Seohyun’s sudden friendly gesture and he could only feel himself falling deeper in love with her. He watched as she delicately cracked the shells and found the meat. The cute way she chewed and she her lips afterwards made his heart beat faster. She smiled back at him.

“Seohyun?”

“Yes?”

Piolo hesitated.

“Ummm…nevermind…”

Seohyun simply smiled and they continued to eat. Piolo wanted to express his feelings to her and wanted to ask her to be his girlfriend but after seeing Kyuhyun and her interaction outside the restaurant several days ago, he didn’t know if he was ready to hear what she had to say. Yet, he had to admit, she was far more beautiful with him compared to the shape she was in after seeing Kyuhyun.

Piolo and Seohyun quietly strolled down to the beach to watch the waves of the Pacific Ocean. They both held their mixed drinks and silently watched the waves. Piolo felt comfortable sharing silence with Seohyun and felt hesitant to ruin the moment. Seohyun took a sip of her cocktail and spoke up.

“Kyuhyun is here in San Francisco…”

“Oh, I see…”

“That night we were supposed to have dinner with Tiffany, he was there too…”

Piolo didn’t quite understand where she was going with this but he continued to listen. Seohyun turned to him and stared at him deeply.

“I have cherished our moments together…from Manila to here, I have always felt so peaceful and warm around you and I enjoy your presence…”

Piolo’s heart was beginning to tighten as he could tell from her words where the entire premise was heading.

“Piolo…I love being with you…but…I have unfinished business…”

“Unfinished business? Seohyun…what do you mean?”

He slowly took a hold of Seohyun’s hand. She looked down and smiled.

“I want to be with you but there’s a part of me that won’t let go of the past…a part of me who won’t forget Kyuhyun…”

Piolo was confused.

“So, you mean-“

“I need to see him and speak with him…I want move on from him…seeing him again as made me very uneasy and uncomfortable with myself…I brought you out here tonight because I wanted to be honest with you…I want to be with you but I can’t if he still lingers in my heart…”

Piolo didn’t know how to comprehend what she was saying and didn’t know if he should feel relieved or sad.

“Seohyun, I have always wanted you…the moment I saw you…I couldn’t get you out of my mind…”

Piolo dropped his drink and moved closer to Seohyun. He caressed her elegant round face and brushed her hair back. She looked up to him and smiled warmly.

“I understand you still love him and because of that…I can only wait for you to come to me…”

“Piolo…”

“I will not stand in your way...”

Seohyun hated herself for doing this to Piolo and felt selfish for making him wait. He didn’t deserve such a painful task.

“Piolo…what if I never stop loving him? Will you still wait for me?”

“I will wait…”

Piolo tightly embraced Seohyun and she suddenly felt the pain aching through her heart. Piolo was the dream man she always wished for as a little girl but she was burdened with the bittersweet moment she shared with Kyuhyun during their childhood and at Manila. Seohyun wanted to give herself to Piolo but she felt it was unfair to him. She could feel his warm tears drop on to her cheek. She slowly eased back and caressed his face.

“Piolo…forgive me…I just don’t want to lose you either…”

“You will never lose me…”

“I must be the most selfish person on earth and it hurts me…I am very confused right now…”

“Seohyun…shhhh…”

Piolo held Seohyun’s chin and they lightly kissed. Piolo felt the taste of Seohyun’s sweet lips latch onto his. He could feel the sadness and misery as she slowly kissed back. They stopped kissing and hugged each other once again. Seohyun eased back and looked up to Piolo.

“Let me take you home…”

Seohyun took his hand and they headed back to her car.

Seohyun parked her car and slammed the door behind her. The sound of her heels echoed as she walked through the damp parking lot leading back to her apartment room. Suddenly, a figure was standing outside her complex. Seohyun became cautious and slowly ducked down behind a car.

“Who’s that?”

She was stunned to see it was Kyuhyun. She bit her lip and tried to calm herself down.

“The nerve of him to show up this late and in front of my home…”

Seohyun popped her head out and stormed towards Kyuhyun.

“Kyuhyun, you have a lot nerve to show your face here!”

Kyuhyun was surprised by Seohyun’s outburst and smiled awkwardly.

“Hey, hey, easy…it’s night time so your neighbors are sleeping…”

Seohyun narrowed her eyes and brought her volume down.

“Kyuhyun, I don’t want you here…”

“Please hear me out first-”

“No.”

She sighed deeply and walked around Kyuhyun.

“Why not? I understand we were drunk the last time but now I’m sober and I can talk…Seohyun…I want to be with you again…”

Seohyun had dreamed every night to hear those words from him again. Her heart still lingered for him but she felt she wasn’t ready for him.

“Kyuhyun, I missed you…I really did…but…I’m not ready to go back to you and you’re not either…we have too many things on our plates and I feel it isn’t the right time-“

Kyuhyun suddenly embraced her and whispered into ear.

“Who do you think you are telling me how to feel and if I’m ready?”

Seohyun was stunned by his aggressive approach but she listened closely. She could feel his tears rolling down his face.

“I never forgot you, Seohyun…I know you hate me for leaving you…I know you do and it’s my fault…please…give me another chance…”

He eased back and stared at her. She looked away and kept walking up to her apartment. She turned and looked at him.

“Kyuhyun, why did you ever come back to find me?”

“Because I-“

“Please don’t say those words…”

She turned back and disappeared into her apartment. Kyuhyun stood still and watched as her lights turned off. He felt his heart grow lonelier as he returned to his car.

“What will take to get her back? Is it even worth it anymore?”

Suddenly, an image of Jiyeon entered his mind. As much as he struggled with his hopeless love for Seohyun, he felt himself growing closer to his humble assistant. Should he consider giving her a chance? Kyuhyun shrugged and started his engine. He was going to give up on Seohyun.

Seohyun remained in bed, shedding painful tears. She couldn’t believe how selfish she had become. From telling one man to wait for her while denying another, she couldn’t understand how thoughtless she had become. Yet, she had to become stern with herself because her heart was beginning to tear her soul in half. Seohyun sadly cried herself to sleep that night.

Sarah was awake when Piolo arrived home. She slowly opened her door and watched the hallway, waiting for him, to see his expression has he strolled through to his room. She heard his footsteps going up the staircase and eagerly poked her head out waiting for the good news. Piolo made it to the top of the stairs with a gloomy expression on his face. He walked to his room and slowly turned the knob. Sarah whispered to him.

“How did it go?”

Piolo was startled by Sarah’s appearance and smiled when he saw her, yet sadly, his expression with back to its detested state.

“To be honest, I don’t know…”

Piolo slowly entered his room and shut the door behind him. Sarah was confused by his statement and closed her door too.

“What did Seohyun say to him?”

Piolo fell onto his bed and sighed deeply. He kept replaying the events that transpired earlier that night and tried to understand Seohyun’s plea to keep him close.

“Is it really ‘right’ to simply wait for her as she makes her decisions?”

Piolo was innocent when it came to relationships. It had been several years since he had someone he liked and the last time was one-sided and disastrous. Piolo wanted Seohyun and he would do whatever it took to be with her. He hated himself for falling so fast for her but he couldn’t help it. He remained awake for the rest of the night staring up towards the ceiling.

this has been such a journey, for real. even tho i still prefer lovers in tokyo aka my favorite fanfics ever, this comes in a strong second. the love between seokyu was so bittersweet it made me wanna sob, because it was so realistic all the way to the end. even tho i was prefering piolo to kyuhyun in this story, i was really surprised when i found out that seohyun and piolo actually ended up together ( thanks for the spoilers here ) and how it wasn't a typical ending. i'm sad but at the same time understanding that they didn't end up together, because it would have been predigtable and it wouldn't have fitted the story. piolo was the right choice for her, even tho how painful it's to admit. i'm right now just a pundle of emotions, because once again a truly magical story has ended. the ending was so magical in a way. seohyun's daughter and kyuhyun's son in the same position as their parent's twenty years ago. this just shows how love is strong and it never faids away, even if years pass by. i'm in love with the fountain scene- so bittersweet and nostalig. the love, experiences, emotion, drama and journey has been amazing. this is why you're one of my favorite authors. you take the reader to a trip and it really makes you feel like you're part of the story. sorry for ranting and being all.. this lol but i'm just speechless in a way. thank you so much for this and i'll remember this story in my heart. can't wait for your next story!

love, reader.

ps. this isn't even half of what i wanna say. hehe, just saying.
pps. i laughed at "her pink cute s" hahaha.

Chapter 11: Aww I can't see the trailer :( I'm sad this story ended. I really enjoyed every single chapter and you were so vivid in your writing to the point that I could experience every up and down with the characters. I find it bittersweet that seohyun and kyuhyun can't be together and that a part of them will always be with the other. But this ending was for the best and though they did not end up together, they did make others happy. I'll be looking forward to your next story. I find the taeyeon onew pairing very intriguing.
