"Key...he doesn't...he...doesn't love me back." Taemin sobbed into his Umma's new shirt, his entire frame shaking. If it was anyone else crying into Key's shirt and leaving snot all over it right now, Key would have already gotten pissed, but it was his precious Taemin, so Key didn't mind. He hugged the heartbroken boy, feeling a pain in his heart as he tried to soothe his baby.

  "Well, things l-like that happen and you should be glad you c-confessed." Key had whispered, a bit shakily. He was in turmoil; he felt Taemin's hurt, but at the same time he felt an unexplainable relief at the rejection.

  They were in their room, one of the times that they were alone and would share their day and thoughts with each other. They were each other's pillar of support and they had gotten through many rough times together. They truly understood each other, and were extremely close. They knew each other's family problems, crushes, and all their innermost secrets.

  Key was there for Taemin, and vice versa. Only in their most intimate moments did they address each other by name, dropping the honorifics and nicknames like 'Taeminnie'.

  'Now would be a nice time to be of some help. ' Key thought to himself when suddenly Taemin stilled in his arms, causing Key to panic, before realising that Taemin only took a deep breath to calm himself down.

 "Key,can...can you let me t-touch you?" Taemin said out of the blue. Key could only nod as Taemin cupped his face, and nuzzled his cheek softly. Key was shocked. They may be very close, but their skinship only limited to hugging. This was new to them.

  "T-taemin?" he muttered uncertainly when Taemin's grip tightened. He was quite nervous and was blushing at their proximity.

  Taemin was hurt. Of course, it was only an infatuation with Minho-hyung, but he was rejected nonetheless. He needed Key, to be close to him. He held Key tighter, not wanting him to move away, tilted Key's chin gently, and kissed him.

Key immediately pushed him away, wearing a stern expression. Tears cascaded down the maknae's cheeks, being rejected twice was not a good feeling. Key's face, seeing the tears, softened, changing into concern.

  "Taemin, I know that you are upset right now, but you shouldn't be so implusive. Y-you...might regret it later."

  "No, I won't. I love you, Key."

  "I do too. But..."

  "But what?!"

  "Are you sure? I don't want to make you upset."

  A kiss was the only reply. It was slow and soft as they touched each other tenderly. They did not lust for each other, it was just love. Kissing, hugging, nothing ual. Their bodies molded together, like soft clay. Their love was sweet and unique, like a mist that lingered, that hugged. Comforting, but not quite visible. It was the perfect relationship. 

   At least for them.
