Based off D&E show on 24092021 where Donghae was sick after his 2nd dose of vaccination and Hyukjae was as usual, being his sweet, caring self

Donghae: hyukkie… i feel like crap ㅜㅜ how about you? 

It was close to 1am and Donghae had just sent a text to Hyukjae. He stared at his phone for a bit, knowing that his boyfriend was home and should be replying him rather quickly if he was still awake but after ten minutes of waiting, he still hasn’t heard back. He sighed and raised his arm to stretch out his aching body but immediately felt a surge of pain running through his entire right deltoid and bicep. He let out a whimper and immediately brought his arm back down. 

Donghae was currently curled up in his bed, hiding under the covers. He had gotten the second dose of his Pfizer vaccination earlier in the morning with Hyukjae. He thought he wouldn’t suffer as much as he did as compared to his first dose because he was alright throughout the day, even managing to joke with Hyukjae on D&E show that they were feeling so much better than they did previously. As he got home after the radio show ended however, he felt the telltale signs of a fever creeping in and his arm progressively hurt more as the night went on. 

At present, Donghae’s head was aching, together with his entire body and especially his right arm. A quick check on a thermometer had also showed that he was running a fever at 38.0°C. He had popped some Tylenol before heading to bed but had woken up repeatedly every time he shifted himself and had unconsciously put some weight on the arm he got jabbed on. He could only hope Hyukjae was faring much better than he was and having a good night’s sleep. Closing his eyes and sighing, Donghae fell back into a fitful sleep.

Morning came and as expected, it wasn’t kind. At all. Donghae had gotten up at 10am with his entire body feeling as though he had been ran over by a truck in addition to a huge wave of nausea attacking him. He was certain his fever was still around seeing as how he could feel the heat radiating off him. He also attempted to lift his arm up just a little and gave up immediately once he felt the pain. He groaned and reached for his phone, his mood having been lifted slightly upon seeing a reply from Hyukjae that came in about half an hour ago. 

Hyukjae: sorry baby… i couldn’t reply last night. I fell asleep at about 930pm and just woke up. i feel okay, just a bit more tired than usual. How are you now? I hope you’re feeling better 🥺 

Donghae: i’m running a fever ㅜㅜ and my entire body hurts so badly. i can’t lift my arm up at all and my stomach hurts, i feel like i’m gonna puke ㅜㅜ i kept waking up last night because my arm was hurting every time i moved ㅜㅜ

Donghae had just sent his reply when five seconds later, his phone rang, showing an incoming video call from his boyfriend. He was feeling awful of course, and he was certain he looked exactly like how he felt but Donghae could never reject a call from his Hyukkie. He clicked on the green button to accept the call and Hyukjae’s face came into view. 

Donghae was still buried under the covers with only his head peeking out from beneath it. Hyukjae could coo at how cute his boyfriend looked, what with his bed-head hair poking out in all directions but one look at how pale and tired Donghae looked, his eyes bloodshot from the lack of sleep, Hyukjae could only frown with worry. 

“Hey baby, how are you?” Hyukjae said as gently as he could, in hopes his voice could soothe his boyfriend who’s clearly unwell.
