sequel.

i'll be your biggest fan (and you'll be mine)

After Minjoo’s confession message on the album, of course, Yujin called the older woman albeit hesitantly — in the end, it was a great decision since Minjoo was really waiting for her call.

It was awkward at first, Yujin was actually the only one awkward. Minjoo was talkative, telling her about the schedules of the groups, and all while Yujin could only respond shyly and blankly out of nervousness. She couldn’t help but to slap her head in disappointment. She was the one who called but Minjoo was carrying the conversation.

Soon enough though, Yujin tried her best to tell her random stuff. For an hour, they didn’t talk about the confession, and they were obviously trying to spot a great time to talk about it. But Yujin made a decision that it was better to talk about it in person, and she knew Minjoo had to rest.

The way the older woman would speak calmly and hum sleepily occasionally — the yawn wasn’t unnoticed too so Yujin immediately pointed it out, telling her to sleep but Minjoo refused, responding that she wouldn’t sleep until they talk about the matter they need to talk about.

“When are you free?” asked Yujin, laying down on her comfortable bed, staring at the ceiling of her room.

The other line went silent for a few moments before Minjoo answered, “In two days,” She whispered. “I’m completely free the whole day.”

Yujin took a deep breath, “Great. Let’s meet in two days then?” Her heart was fluttering.

There was a soft whine coming from Minjoo. “What? Two days? How am I supposed to wait for two days?” She whined, and Yujin could picture the idol pouting already, and that made her chuckle weakly.

“It’s okay. We’ll keep texting and calling each other, alright? You need to do your job, and I need to do mine. I still have some things to fix around, okay?” Yujin said, and shifted her position in bed, clutching her phone right beside her ear. “In two days, we’ll talk properly about… us, alright? Two days isn’t that long…” She purposely softened her voice that she was almost cooing, and it was effective because Minjoo let out a defeated sigh after that.

They bid their good night, and it took another ten minutes because they were arguing on who would end the call, and in the end, Yujin did it heavy-heartedly because Minjoo was a stubborn brat. She even said that let the call run while they sleep but that would be a little bit too much. Yujin wouldn’t be able to sleep properly, she would stay up all night listening to Minjoo’s breathing.

Once Yujin managed to end their call, she rested there in silence. She chewed on her lower lip, and tucked herself under the comforter, mumbling. “Two days is indeed that long…”

They messaged and called each other frequently for the next few days. Minjoo would even send her random pictures and videos of her while she was getting her make-up done or sitting in the waiting room. She had some solo schedules, photoshoots and all. It was pretty flustering.

Yujin felt so exclusive. Minjoo would post different pictures of her in public, and those pictures and videos she sent to her remained exclusively only for her eyes. Wow, so this was the ‘privilege’? Yujin was certainly enjoying it so much. It was awakening this… greedy part in her that she didn’t know that existed. But still, she enjoyed what Minjoo would give publicly.

Then at night, they would call. Yujin pulled an all-nighter in the office, and Minjoo made it bearable. She would do some paperwork while Minjoo would randomly blabber some stuff, hum random tunes, and sing out of a sudden. Yujin enjoyed it. She wasn’t too distracting, in fact, Yujin was less tense as she did her job thanks to Minjoo.

Minjoo would also ask her questions about her work and other stuff related to her family’s company, and Yujin would answer them with a smile. The idol was simply curious so she was willing to feed Minjoo’s curiosity.

The idol also refused to sleep until she was done and Yujin was against it. She even ended the call a few times but Minjoo would call her back again, and bomb her texts. And since she was a whipped woman for Kim Minjoo, she just let her do whatever she wanted. In the end, when the clock struck 1 AM, the other line was dead silent. Minjoo was fast asleep.

Yujin could only smile to herself as she did her work, feeling oddly calm and content as she listened to Minjoo’s soft breathing and even managed to memorize the pattern. It was calming and so gentle, warmth spread through her chest.

It was lovely, it was overwhelming. She never really thought that she would have a chance to be with Minjoo like this… in a non-idol and fan way. Idol Minjoo and Kim Minjoo were pretty much the same, the former was professional while the latter was just… pretty childish and endearing. That was the difference, and Yujin loved both. She knew the Idol Minjoo well, and she was still getting to know the real Kim Minjoo well.

When the day they were going to meet arrived, Yujin was excited but nervous. She was anticipating what would happen between them after this. The decision was up to Minjoo anyway, and not on her. Yujin would just happily match Minjoo’s pace, and if the idol wanted to prioritize her career then Yujin was going to still support her from the side.

It was all up on Minjoo. Yujin was going to follow her like a puppy.

Yujin fetched Minjoo near her dorm. The younger woman even booked a whole cafe just so they could have their own privacy. It wasn’t much. Technically, her family owned that place so she could do whatever she wanted.

Yujin drove silently after greeting Minjoo. She was silent and awkward. Minjoo looked calm but deep inside, she was nervous. Her eyes were sparkling though, asking where they would go, and asking how Yujin’s day was.

They arrived at the place fast, and Yujin was instantly relaxed at the peaceful ambience of the place. She encouraged Minjoo to feel comfortable around since there was no one that would bother them there. After becoming an idol, Minjoo became wary of entering establishments like this especially when they started to get a lot of attention to the point every person living in South Korea could recognize her.

Minjoo sat on the leathered couch, and kept looking at the huge window beside her, watching people and vehicles pass by in awe. Yujin stared at the woman silently, admiring her. Ever since the very beginning, Yujin frequently saw Minjoo up-close but she never got tired of her beauty, Minjoo was pleasing to look at.

The older woman was just wearing a simple blouse and skirt with white sneakers but she still looked like a goddess. Yujin was about to drool as she stared but she tried to get a grip of herself.

“What drink do you want?” asked Yujin and Minjoo turned to her with a smile. Yujin had to hold her breath.

Minjoo picked up the menu and browsed through it, there was an excited glint in her eyes, obviously indecisive of what to get because everything in the menu looked good. Yujin knew Minjoo in that field very well. Before, Yujin loved to ask Minjoo questions about her favorite food and she made her choose one among them — Minjoo always had this look of conflict, as if to say, ‘Why are you making me pick? It’s hard!’.

“You can pick anything you want, go,” Yujin softly encouraged, and Minjoo puckered her lips, shaking her head.

“I’m unable to eat and drink all of them.”

“I’ll tell them to prepare everything available and you taste each one of them, sounds good?”

Minjoo looked horrified at the suggestion but Yujin was just merely suggesting, wanting to help Minjoo’s internal struggle over picking food and drink.

“That’ll be a waste, Yujin-ah.” The idol nagged, and shook her head, dismissing the offer. Yujin had the ability to ask them to prepare everything but since Minjoo was the boss of her, she just pouted and nodded, waiting for the older woman to pick.

After a few minutes, Minjoo said that she would get the iced matcha latte and strawberry cheesecake with cookies on the side. Yujin immediately told the worker to prepare Minjoo’s order, while she would just get an iced americano and muffin for herself.

They sat in silence. Minjoo fumbled over her phone, probably updating her members, and Yujin let her, just comfortably sitting on the couch.

“Yujin,” Minjoo broke the silence, and Yujin flinched a bit, humming, then straightened her posture. Her full attention was on Minjoo now. The latter was staring back at her, her back was straight, and looking elegant. “I’m genuine.”

Her heart skipped a beat. The nervousness from earlier was intensifying again. She almost puked twice on the way to Minjoo’s dorm. She was that nervous, and now, they were here. Yujin gave Minjoo a pointed look, encouraging her to continue speaking and she would listen wholeheartedly.

“My words. The words I wrote last time,” Minjoo paused, pressing her lips together into a thin line. “I’m genuine, Yujin.” The older woman continued, and Yujin just knew that her heart was already in .

Of course, Minjoo was genuine. Minjoo was always genuine. Yujin could tell if she was lying, Minjoo’s eyes were too expressive. And now, the older woman’s eyes were hard and fierce, they held utmost sincerity that left Yujin speechless, and her heart quaking.

But before Yujin could even form an answer, a worker came in to bring their orders. They were just staring at each other as the server placed their orders on the table, and bowed at them before rushing out of the place, blushing after taking a glance at Minjoo.

Yujin on her lower lip, watching Minjoo take the matcha latte and took a sip, looking equally tense. The older woman continued to sip, avoiding her gaze, the tips of her ears flaring red.

“What do you want me to do? What do you want for us to do, Minjoo?”

Minjoo was stunned for a few moments when Yujin said that, and cleared . “It’s not just me who will decide for us, Yujin. How about you? Let me hear what’s in your mind…” She murmured, taking another short sip from her drink.

The chaebol went mum. A beat of silence as she stared at Minjoo.

“I want to court you.”

Minjoo hummed, placed the drink on the table, then grabbed the fork, took a small piece of cake, and ate it. Yujin waited for her answer patiently, a little bit surprised at her own boldness. She was already cursing at herself, scared that she might’ve taken Minjoo aback with her straightforward words. But she was honest.

Yujin wanted to court Minjoo first. That was what she wanted and planned if Minjoo agreed, of course. She wouldn’t do anything that would make the older woman uncomfortable. But through proper courting, she would be able to pursue Minjoo nicely, and that showed how much she liked her.

“You want to court me?” asked Minjoo, a little bit intrigued.

Yujin nodded stiffly, drinking on her americano. “Yes. I want to take things slowly, and this way… we’ll be able to interact nicely with a romantic intent. Aside from fansigns and all, we still haven’t spent much time together.” She explained, and took a deep breath before staring directly at Minjoo’s eyes. “And this way, I’m able to show you my admiration and determination well. So, allow me,”

Minjoo broke into a grin, giggling. Yujin pouted, thinking that she must’ve looked like a fool earlier. She was about to apologize when Minjoo threw her a sweet, lovesick smile, and that gaze… that god damn foxy gaze.

“Then court me, Yujin-ah.”

Yujin got the ‘go’ signal.

///

Courting an idol was hard. It was so difficult and Yujin couldn’t help but to wonder how people manage to date behind the spotlight. They needed to be extra careful. Even though Minjoo and her group’s dating ban was already lifted, it didn’t mean they could openly announce that an infamous chaebol was courting one of the most loved idols of South Korea.

Yujin could already imagine the horror. She was scared that Minjoo might get a lot of hate for dating someone. It was one of her horrors before, but look what happened, she was personally courting Minjoo and snatched the idol’s heart.

So, Yujin’s moves were always thoroughly calculated and well-thought of. She couldn’t act brashly because… one wrong move, and Minjoo would fall. That was the least thing she ever wanted, to taint Minjoo’s name.

Every single day, without fail, Yujin would text Minjoo messages and would not call unless Minjoo herself would tell her that she was free and they could talk or Minjoo was going to be the one who would call her.

Yujin would always send snacks and flowers in Minjoo’s dorms thrice a week, some gifts too. She couldn’t personally hand it because of safety reasons, and other more. The woman would also visit sometimes to spend time with Minjoo, and whenever they went out, Yujin would immediately reserve the whole place so no one could disrupt their privacy.

Minjoo expressed that she was fine with their set-up, as long as she got to spend more time with Yujin, then that was enough. She was alright staying in a secluded place with Yujin, it was more peaceful that way, and going out in the open in public would do no good.

Only the group members, the managers, and Haseul herself knew what was going on between Yujin and Minjoo. Of course the members were delighted, they love Yujin for their leader, and they were confident that Yujin would take care of Minjoo well, same goes for the managers who were surprisingly supportive. These managers help her hand over the gifts and food to Minjoo.

Meanwhile, Haseul, the over laid back CEO she was — she was also alright with it, grateful that Minjoo honestly told her what was up. The CEO even called the both of them over to her office for a talk, and Yujin was scared less that Haseul would tell her father about her and Minjoo but Haseul only told them to be real careful and she would help them as much as possible.

The world out there was harsh, especially for idols like Minjoo, and she was with a girl — although South Korea wasn’t particularly homophobic anymore, idols dating were still a big issue. And her father, he might not like this news at all so she would only break the news to him once she and Minjoo were dating officially.

But all in all, it was pretty nice and chill between her and Minjoo. They were taking things slowly but surely, getting to know each other more thoroughly and goodness, when Yujin thought that she couldn’t be more deeply into Minjoo, she proved her wrong. Even through texting, Yujin was charmed, and she couldn’t help but to fall, and fall, and fall.

Five months, and Yujin was absolutely in danger. She was already used to this daily routine, and set-up with Minjoo. Everyday, she couldn’t go through her day without texting or calling the woman. Minjoo’s simple messages could already make her day.

The feelings stayed, still getting stronger and stronger each other. And Yujin hoped that it was the same for Minjoo. She could see that the idol wanted for them to work too, despite the exhaustion from her schedules, she would make time to have a talk with Yujin even just for a few minutes. She refused to rest until she heard Yujin’s voice. The younger woman appreciated it so much, even though she was the one insisting that it was okay if they couldn’t talk much everyday because she understood Minjoo’s work of nature — Minjoo was stubborn.

It wasn’t Yujin who was making an effort though. Minjoo too even though Yujin was the one who was courting Minjoo, the latter refused to back down. She simply wanted to court Yujin too. She refused that Yujin was the one who was carrying this courtship stage.

Minjoo liked to send her food too, especially in her office. She would always send videos of her exclusively only for her. And whenever they were together, she always did things that would make Yujin’s heart flutter.

They tried to meet at least twice a week if the schedule wasn’t hectic, and if not, then once would do — they could do video-calls anyway. There were times that Minjoo had to fly out of the country, and it was kind of tempting following Minjoo there.

It wasn’t bad, their situation, and Yujin could get used to it as long as Minjoo was comfortable with it.

She loves Minjoo so much that she would do anything for her. Yes, love. It wasn’t too surprising. Yujin just woke up one day on Minjoo’s ‘good morning :D’ text after a stressful day, and she realized that, yeah — this woman. She loves her a lot to the point she was willing to sacrifice everything just to see her smile.

Yujin had always admired Minjoo anyway. It wasn’t shocking if she fell along the way as she witnessed Minjoo’s growth. She was already there at the side ever since the very beginning, proudly witnessed everything, and stayed.

She loved Minjoo to the moon and back ever since they were young.

“I have a three days break next week before our comeback preparation,” Minjoo told her one day.

It was already around midnight, and Yujin purposely stayed up late, waiting for Minjoo to get home after her solo schedule.

Almost instantly, Yujin lit up. It meant that they could meet properly soon! Last time they met just four days ago, Yujin only sneaked into the building of Minjoo’s agency to get a glimpse of the woman. They only interacted for three minutes because they were having practice, and Yujin only gave her some drinks, for the group and the staff too.

But of course, it was up to Minjoo. She had to rest, and if she wanted to stay inside and spend time with the others and not Yujin then the latter could understand that. Minjoo’s world doesn’t revolve around Yujin. She still had things to do in life also.

“That’s great, use that time to rest up,” Yujin answered softly as she flipped through the papers, browsing through another page.

Minjoo hummed, “Yeah, I’ll use those days to spend time with you…”

Yujin’s heart flipped, her whole face went red, and dried up. This woman could really make her feel extreme things by just being herself. Minjoo wasn’t even making an effort to move her heart, damn it! Kim Minjoo’s effect on her was so scary. And knowing that this wasn’t a fan service at all? Her heart exploded with rainbows.

Clearing , Yujin chuckled and responded, “Where do you want to go or do then?” asked the woman.

There was silence at the other line, and Yujin was sure that the woman was hesitating. If Minjoo was thinking then she must be humming now but still, Yujin patiently waited. Anything Minjoo wanted, Yujin would do it for her.

After a beat of silence, Minjoo finally said what she wanted to say, “I… actually want to go on a trip with you,” She said, and oh, Yujin could tell that the latter was blushing. That made her giddy.

With a smile that Minjoo couldn’t see, Yujin answered, “Sure. Just tell me where and I’ll do the rest.” She encouraged Minjoo. Excitement filled her up as the thought of spending time with Minjoo entered her brain.

“I’m planning that, uhm,” Minjoo paused.

Yujin frowned a little at the hesitance. “It’s ‘kay, just tell me where.” She said softly.

Finally, after a sigh, Minjoo finally continued. “I’m planning to go on an overseas trip. Just the two of us, where no one will recognize me, where no one will look at us and eye our every move.” said the idol. “For three days.”

And with that, her little brain short-circuited. It wasn’t for the fact that they would go outside the country but it was the ‘just the two of us’, it was the phrase that got her malfunctioning. Overseas, and for three days, alone with Minjoo?

Minjoo noticed the silence, and panicked, immediately blabbering. “But of course, that is, if you’re not busy and if you’re comfortable. It’s alright if you can’t, haha, it’s pretty too much. Sorry. We can—”

“I would love that,” Yujin cut her off, breathless. She genuinely loved the idea. She couldn’t afford Minjoo taking the suggestion back because she was into it. “Let’s go. I like the idea. If that’s what you really want. Just tell me which country, Minjoo.” said Yujin, standing up from her bed and then walked to her mini office, checking her schedule.

“Really?” Minjoo’s voice went a little bit higher out of excitement. “I’m thinking of visiting a country in Europe or America. For sure, no one will bat an eye at us in there, and the chance of me getting recognized is pretty low.” She chirped, her tone was contrasting from the tone she used earlier. “But I want to go somewhere with a nice beach… How about Hawaii? Honolulu looks great,”

Yujin opened her laptop, typing rapidly to send an email to her secretary about arranging her schedule next week and other stuff. For sure, work would pile up but anything for Minjoo. She wouldn’t want to do her paperworks while spending time with the idol anyway.

“Hawaii sounds fine. Okay, I’ll arrange everything—”

“No!” Minjoo squeaked, and Yujin was slightly surprised. The older woman coughed, composing herself. “No, let me do it. I suggested it after all. This time, let me handle everything, Yujin. Just please arrange your schedule…” She mumbled.

Yujin blinked, her fingers hovering above the keyboard, taken aback. Her heart started to beat rapidly then, blushing furiously. “Alright.” She responded. She just wanted to help, and she had a lot of connections around so the itinerary would be a piece of cake to her. Plus, Minjoo was pretty busy around but she wouldn’t put up a fight. Minjoo wanted to plan everything so Yujin would let her. “Just tell me if you need help, aight? I’ll personally seek Haseul-nim’s permission too.”

“You don’t need to do that though…” Minjoo whined.

Yujin chuckled at Minjoo’s response. “I need to~” She sang, and then, “So, next week? Three days and two nights? Is it fine?”

Minjoo hummed delightfully. “Yeah. Wednesday to Friday.” She answered, and as she spoke, Yujin kept typing on her laptop.

“Very much fine,” Yujin murmured, and clicked send. “Great! It’s settled then.” She then leaned her back against the backrest, staring at the ceiling of her office. “Do your members already know your plans?”

“Yeah. I told them and,” Minjoo snickered, and Yujin giggled. “They wanted to tag along, and when I said I wanted to go alone with you... They’re so annoying, and keep teasing me. Even until now, Wonyoung keeps giving me weird looks!” She ranted.

Yujin let out a loud laugh. Of course, the members would , and them. They always loved to tease the both of them especially whenever Yujin would visit their dorm. The girls would tease them relentlessly even though there was a respectful gap between her and Minjoo when they were sitting on the couch and whenever they interacted, the girls, especially Yuri would let out a whistle.

It was annoying and at the same time, endearing. They were pretty vocal that they liked Yujin for Minjoo. They were supportive, and would do anything to help them. Sometimes, one of them would drive Minjoo to their meeting place.

They were the ones who would message Yujin if Minjoo was feeling sick, off, or anything. They always gave her some updates, especially if it was regarding Minjoo. The latter doesn’t like to tell Yujin if she isn’t feeling fine.

With that, the both of them talked about their trip for a short while until Yujin insisted that they should sleep. She already caught Minjoo yawning for the seventh time so it was a sign that they should rest and continue talking tomorrow.

They ended the call promising each other that they would talk about it tomorrow further, and update each other regarding their schedules. Once the call ended, Yujin did not sleep yet, and did a little research. She searched for places where they could go in Hawaii, and in the end, she called a friend that used to go to the said country, asking her some good places to go and many things they should learn before flying to Hawaii.

Yujin slept with a smile on her face as usual, excited for her and Minjoo’s trip next week.

Honolulu was pretty nice and peaceful. It wasn’t too crowded when Yujin and Minjoo arrived at the said place. Just very perfect.

After getting Haseul’s permission, Yujin immediately helped Minjoo with the preparation. They had a little bickering about the itinerary since Minjoo kept insisting that she would cover the whole trip’s expenses but of course, Yujin wouldn’t allow that even though they both know that Minjoo was decently wealthy too.

Yujin reasoned that she was also on the trip so she would cover some expenses too. In the end, Minjoo agreed that Yujin would take care of their flight expenses. Yujin was happy with it and immediately booked them the first class seats. Although the hotel and other fees were more expensive, Yujin knew that Minjoo wouldn’t let her take part in those anymore.

Minjoo managed to get into the airport without gaining attention, thanks to Yujin’s connection. They got into the plane with no issues and landed in Hawaii smoothly.

Now, they just arrived at the place they were staying at and oh boy, Minjoo really outdid this one. The place was spacious with a lot of rooms, a personal pool, a huge living room, and just everything. They could bring the whole group and staff member here because it was such a shame that only the two of them would stay here for days but even so, despite the huge space, Minjoo never left her sight.

There was a balcony too, and it offered a great view of the wide vast sea. Yujin felt so relaxed. Earlier, she was a little bit tense and nervous, mixed with excitement. She was just scared to be with Minjoo alone like this, away from everyone. She liked it but it was freaking her out a bit.

All Yujin wanted to do was to take a power nap. For days, she hadn’t gotten proper sleep since she was finishing her work so she could spend time with Minjoo to the fullest and she was jetlagged too. Yujin saw that Minjoo looked a little bit strained too, and her eyes were droopy so when they reached the place they were staying in, she immediately let her pick a room so they could rest.

Of course, they would be using different rooms! Their intimacy wasn’t still on that level, and Yujin’s respect for Minjoo was out of the roof so she wouldn’t dare. And Yujin wouldn’t survive sleeping in the same room as Minjoo, much more in the same bed?

They slept for a few hours until lunch came. Both of them were pretty hungry so they decided to call for room service. Steak for the both of them.

They ate on the balcony where they could eat while admiring the beautiful view. It had been a while since Yujin went on a relaxing trip like this. She almost forgot how much she loved staring at the view of spectacular places like the current scenery they were staring at.

As she ate the steak, she kept stretching her neck to check the glistening sea. The wind was pretty great too. So fresh, it wasn’t too harsh either. It was her first time in Hawaii, and it was a pretty chill and beautiful place. Although it was a popular place, Yujin hadn’t gotten the time to visit.

She turned her head, and saw that Minjoo was staring at the distance with a small smile plastered on her lips. She was wearing no make-up but still the most beautiful lady to ever exist.

“Astonishing,” Yujin commented, not in the right state of mind as she stared at Minjoo lovingly.

Minjoo chuckled, still not turning to her, “It is.” She replied, thinking that Yujin was talking about the view. Unbeknownst to her, it was her that Yujin was staring at.

The view of the sea was astonishing, indeed but the view of Minjoo admiring the scenery with twinkling eyes, genuine smile, and relaxed posture — it was the most astonishing for Yujin.

Their trip was mostly strolling around to check different places without a break. They also checked out delicacies, and went to the beach in the afternoon for a stroll at the shore.

Yujin and Minjoo got their own cameras and ironically, each other’s cameras were full of pictures of one another. At this point, they should swap cameras instead. They also took pictures of the beach, and skies, they also asked a kind local to take pictures of them.

They bought some souvenirs too along the way.

As the sun finally rested, they continued to walk along the shore. Their hands brushed against each other but no one dared to hold, too shy, probably.

“I want to surf, I heard there’s a good surfing spot around here,” Yujin blurted out randomly as she ate her popsicle. “After all, Waikiki has the best surfing spot according to my sources.”

Minjoo was slightly surprised at the revelation. “You surf?”

Yujin threw her a smirk. “Yes, I do. It’s my hobby besides volleyball and fangirling.” She said, and chuckled. But it was true. She loved to surf before, especially whenever they were in Jeju. She didn’t get to surf here yet.

Gasping, Minjoo lightly smacked Yujin’s arm, amazed. “Why didn’t you tell me you know how to surf?”

The taller woman shrugged. “I never really got the chance to tell. I’ve never even remembered until we got here.” She answered, biting at her popsicle stick then she spotted something in her peripheral vision, someone was raising their phone up, and obviously taking pictures of them — of Minjoo.

With a sigh, Yujin leaned closer to the older woman. “Someone recognizes you,” She whispered, and Minjoo became a little bit alarmed but she remained calm.

Minjoo just nodded and gave her a tight smile, “It’s alright. Just one won’t hurt.”

That wouldn’t do. Yujin glanced at Minjoo and to the one who kept taking pictures of Minjoo, her phone was following their direction, and she was just boldly taking pictures of them like that. Minjoo wasn’t wearing a disguise or anything, she was wearing light make-up and if you were really a fan then you would be able to recognize her.

“Stay right here,” Yujin ordered, and swiftly left Minjoo’s side who was dumbfounded, staying right there on her spot and watched Yujin walk towards the person who kept snapping pictures without her permission.

Yujin kindly asked if she was taking pictures of them, and the lady stammered, saying the truth that she knew Minjoo and was a fan. And then, Yujin asked if she could not post the pictures and tell people that the idol was there. The lady panicked a bit, nodding, and told Yujin that she wasn’t going to release the photos, and was just awestruck.

Minjoo stepped into the scene though, putting up her little facade but she looked comfortable and even offered a picture together as long as she won’t post it. Minjoo was too kind.

The little problem was settled immediately, and Minjoo waved goodbye to the fan and they continued to walk along the shore — finally deciding to go back to their room, and probably stay in the pool while drinking alcohol.

They talked about life as they settled at the corner of the pool while staring at the view before them. It was cool, and nice. No one would bother them, they were alone. Just Minjoo and Yujin. No one else.

Yujin would never forget the twinkle in Minjoo’s eyes as she talked about the things she loves as she sipped on her beer, her hair slightly drenched, and looking so relaxed.

///

“Surfing is not as fun to watch as it looks,” Minjoo commented soullessly as Yujin approached her, dragging the surfboard along with her to the shore.

Yujin pouted, shaking her head a bit to remove some of her drenched hair away from blocking her face. She looked sad at Minjoo’s comment, but it was okay since they have their own preferences anyway. “Really? You did not enjoy it?” asked Yujin because she enjoyed it a lot.

It had been a while and she was scared that she wouldn’t be able to surf properly but surprisingly, she still knew what to do.

Minjoo looked pale. “No,” Yujin pouted even more. “I certainly did not enjoy watching you surf, almost getting swallowed by those huge waves. I was so restless while watching you, y’know.” She added, clarifying that she did not enjoy it at all and was just worried and nervous.

Yujin blinked and let out a laugh. “Awe, you were worried that I might fall off and drown, something like that?” She asked playfully but her voice was soft, walking closer to Minjoo. She wanted to hug the idol but she was wet and she wouldn’t simply do that without Minjoo’s permission too.

Minjoo nodded shyly. “Yeah. You look good, and you’re great but I’m just scared you might really fall off from your surfboard.” She whispered, and puckered her lower lip.

Earlier, she was excited watching Yujin because surfing looked nice, and the latter was also anticipating to surf again after a long time. Minjoo was even so giddy as Yujin told her to stay there at their spot on the shore and watch her surf along the waves but as soon as Yujin started to bravely go against the waves, the colors in Minjoo’s body drained.

Yujin also offered Minjoo that she would teach her how to surf but Minjoo dismissed the idea since she was sure that she had no talent or courage in her to try so Yujin did not push. Seeing how things go like this for surfers, yeah, Minjoo was glad she turned down the younger woman’s offer.

Yujin giggled, couldn’t contain her ‘uwus’ and finally reached for Minjoo’s head, ruffling her hair. “Nah, not a chance. I won’t let you witness me drown.” She winked, and held Minjoo’s wrist, dragging her away near the water. “Do you want to swim?”

Minjoo shook her head, letting Yujin drag her. “No. I’m good. Dipping my feet into the water is pretty much enough.”

“How about taking some pictures?”

“Already did.”

“Hmm. What do you want to do?”

“Spend time with you, stay close to you.”

Yujin turned to Minjoo, her ears turning red. What was with Minjoo today? She was getting pretty bold with her words and the chaebol couldn’t even take it. She might melt or explode, either way it was bad for her health.

“Okay. I’ll stick close to you.” Yujin murmured, sliding her hand that was gripping on Minjoo’s wrist and held the latter’s hand instead, feeling a little bit confident then locked their fingers. It was tense at the first moment but Minjoo did not protest, instead, she tightened her hold.

Yujin washed and changed some clothes before she and Minjoo decided to stroll around Waikiki again, checking some stalls and stuff to buy.

For some unknown reason, while strolling around the beach, they joined beach volleyball with friendly strangers. It was fun. They were cool and simply friendly, just wanting another willing player.

Yujin was the star player. That girl could do a lot of things, volleyball was one of her favorite sports and she almost joined the national team, only if her father let her then she was definitely a professional athlete now. Minjoo knew how to play, not as great as Yujin but she had fun. Some of the guys even tried to hit on her but her knight in shining armour, Ahn Yujin came to the rescue almost immediately.

The idol was flushed. Yujin dragged her away from the mini court, her strong, possessive arm wrapped around her waist after she gave them all a tight smile.

Later, they had a video call with the group, and it was a bad idea, really. The girls kept teasing them, always emphasizing that they were alone together. Sakura kept snickering, asking if they were already official. Those bold comments would always make them blush so it was for the better that they ended the call immediately.

It was awkward but Yujin broke the silence by asking Minjoo if she wanted to go to the shore again after dinner since it would be their final night in Hawaii. They will be taking the flight to Korea after lunch so they were already cherishing their lovely time in this lovely place.

They decided to dine in a resto, and had dinner. The place was magnificent, and wasn’t crowded. The ambiance was perfect and there was a live band. It hyped the customers, especially that the band members were all quirky and funny, talented people too. They performed bright and lively songs.

“Anyone want to sing with us?!?” One of the guys asked to the mic, encouraging a customer to go to the stage and sing. “Our vocalist here is pretty tired already! The song we will perform next is First True Love by Kolohe Kai but of course, if someone will join us, feel free to request.” He announced, winking at the audience.

Yujin giggled, taking a bite of her salmon then glanced at Minjoo who kept looking at the stage. Throughout the performance, she kept humming along, and would even bob her head along the beat. “Hey, Miss Idol, why not sing?” She teased.

Minjoo shook her head, giving Yujin a look. “I’m too shy. And I don’t really feel like singing. I feel like listening.” She explained, and it wasn’t like Yujin was going to push her to sing.

The statement made Yujin chuckle. “Oh? Too shy to sing in front of a smaller crowd but in front of hundreds, thousands of people, suddenly it’s alright?” She playfully responded, and glanced at the live band who was still urging the people to swallow their shyness and come up to the stage and be their vocalist for a song.

Yujin then turned to Minjoo, “Aside from surfing, I think I still haven’t told you about another hobby of mine,” She said, and stood up.

Minjoo watched the woman in curiosity. Yujin gave her a sweet smile. “Don’t be too surprised, Joo~” She grinned before walking away from the table before Minjoo could even ask. The idol was left there on their table, dumbfounded. She stared at Yujin’s retreating back, and blinked in confusion when the taller woman made her way towards the live band.

Yujin talked to a member of a live band. The tall, tanned skin guy with a friendly look on his face, and the guitarist immediately beamed when Yujin approached, and they had a little conversation.

The guy grinned happily then immediately talked to the other members, and once they nodded, giving their signal — he walked to the mic stand. “Well, looks like we got a temporary vocalist now! Someone beautiful from South Korea,” He said then gestured for Yujin to step onto the platform so the latter did.

Minjoo’s mouth was agape.

“Well since Miss here knows First True Love, then we’ll be singing that. Let’s go!”

The members of the live band prepared their instruments, and started to play almost immediately, looking excited.

Yujin warily grabbed the mic, and started to sing but she looked a little bit stiff and nervous at first — glancing nervously at Minjoo’s direction. The latter was just simply stunned, watching her intently.

But once she got the hold of the feeling, she started to get less nervous, thanks to the band members’ encouragement by giving her looks and hyping her up. The customers were also intrigued, watching the lively performance with a smile.

When the chorus approached, Yujin was practically dancing, and mingling with the friendly band members who kept supporting her.

“ You are my fifth, fourth or third seconds not the word

You are my first my first true love

Sad to say to this very day

You're still the one I'm thinking of

'Cause you’re my first true love ”

She kept looking around the crowd, and her eyes shone bright. Yujin was certainly enjoying it, she was loving it. But whenever a specific lyric would come, she would turn to Minjoo and meet her surprised but struck eyes.

Yujin was feeling it. She was vibing along with the song, and everyone was, except for Minjoo who was sitting there like a statue.

The idol wasn’t expecting it, really. One could tell. It caught her off-guard. Yujin knew how to freaking sing, and she was so good at it! Her voice was heaven-sent. Her voice reminds her of Kim Taeyeon, one of her talented seniors with an angel voice. Christ, Minjoo was melting.

She would definitely make Yujin sing to her every single night.

The crowd was singing along, and hyped even clapping along the beat. There were smiles on their faces, and they were happily watching.

Minjoo couldn’t help but to blush sometimes whenever Yujin would wink at her as she sang. What a natural. She was really great with the crowd. She was practically controlling them.

Once the song was about to come to an end, Yujin caught her eyes again, and they held eye-contact as Yujin sang the line with a genuine smile plastered on her lips.

“I never felt this blue

You are my fifth, fourth or third seconds not the word

You are my first my first true love

Sad to say to this very day

You're still the one I'm thinking of

'Cause you’re my first true love ”

Minjoo would never forget the sparkle in Yujin’s eyes as she sang those, as if she was trying to convey something through those specific lyrics, and her gaze — god, her gaze. Smoldering yet soft, and sincere. Those orbs that kept pulling Minjoo in, drowning herself in those.

For years straight, those orbs were the only ones exposed in Yujin whenever they met in fansigns. She came to love it. She loved staring at those.

The crowd cheered once they were done performing. Yujin just bowed shyly, and waved at the band members who kept clapping for her and complimenting her. Of course, this time, Minjoo joined in the cheers — grinning widely.

After a little talk, Yujin went down from the stage. The others must be persuading her to sing one more song again but Yujin turned the offer down, wanting to go back to Minjoo again. The customers kept smiling at her as she passed by, and as she walked to Minjoo’s direction, they shared eye-contact while smiling until Yujin’s way was blocked by someone, a little bit familiar.

It was one of the strangers they played with earlier. She was smiling charmingly at Yujin and she was pretty good-looking, to be honest. A nice body too.

“Hey there, remember me?” The blonde asked in accented English, she must be British. “From the volleyball game earlier?”

Yujin nodded, “Yes. What can I do for you?”

The woman did not even beat around the bush and directly said what she wanted to say. “Well. To be honest, you caught my attention. But I got too shy earlier to approach you,” She said, scratching her nose shyly. “Just wondering if you’re free later? Might wanna treat you some drink and hit it off, maybe. Anyway, great performance, you certainly got the vocals.”

Yujin was flattered, really. However, she was too loyal. She only wanted Minjoo and no one else. With an apologetic smile, Yujin immediately rejected the offer. “Thanks. Sorry but I’m kind of taken? Real sorry,” She answered.

The woman chuckled, shaking her head. “No, no. It’s good. That’s great. See you around then, cutie? The offer still stands, just friendly hang-out around.” She still insisted. Yujin just smiled, and they parted ways.

When she saw Minjoo, the latter was frowning a bit. She certainly heard their exchange. “What’s with the long face?” Yujin said as she sat down on her chair. “No need to be jealous or anything, lady. Let’s go out now? We already paid for our food anyway.” She said, and smiled.

Minjoo just pouted. Well, Yujin read her well. She was indeed a little bit jealous because that girl seemed to like Yujin a lot but of course, Yujin would reject the woman. Her heart even jumped off from her chest when the chaebol told her that she was kind of ‘taken’... by Minjoo!? Who else?

They walked out of the restaurant in silence, and finally, Minjoo broke the silence by saying, “I didn’t know you knew how to sing. On top of it, greatly too. You have a gifted voice.” She commented, glancing at Yujin who was just smiling at her. “You can pass an idol or even a soloist, Yujin. You have a talent for it.”

Yujin giggled, pinching Minjoo’s arm lightly then slid it to hold her hand. “What a talker~” She softly said, and Minjoo snorted but smiled anyway, squeezing the younger woman’s hand as they walked.

“I almost became a trainee before,” Yujin revealed in the midst of their comfortable silence.

Minjoo’s eyes widened. Yujin gave her a smug look. “When I learned from one of my courses that you became a trainee — oh yeah, let me clarify that part! I kept an eye on you once I had the ability to do so, I did not just simply stumble upon your group’s debut.” Minjoo was dumbfounded but the taller woman just gave her an apologetic look.

“I knew that you became a trainee, and well, of course — desperate me thought that it would be a great idea to be a trainee and enter your life again naturally. I have the talents, not to boast, but I can sing and dance a bit. I auditioned before in your company and passed easily but my father learned about it along the way and refused to let me continue. I just said I would do it for experience, and that would be his fourteenth birthday gift for me.”

Yujin pouted, “Unfortunately, he still refused. So yeah,”

Minjoo narrowed her eyes. “I can’t believe you’ll be willing to be an idol just to be with me. But then, why am I not surprised. You kept hoarding our albums and everything just to meet me. You’re borderline crazy, Ahn Yujin.” She whispered but even though she was overwhelmed at the enormous effort Yujin would put just to meet and reconnect with her — there was a part in her that was so giddy.

Nodding, Yujin shrugged nonchalantly afterwards. “Yeah. Anything for you,” She then whispered, “Crazy for you only.”

That made Minjoo shut up, blushing furiously, and out of shyness, she punched Yujin on the arm with her free hand. The taller woman just laughed, insisting that it was the truth anyway, and she wasn’t ashamed of it.

After that, they just found their own selves lounging around a small bonfire they made. It was allowed, and the both of them were the only ones circling around the bonfire. There were marshmallows, chips, and beers around them.

Time flies fast. Both Minjoo and Yujin still wanted to stay in Hawaii for longer but they still had some work to finish in Korea that they couldn’t leave. As they clinked their beers together, they promised that they would come back to this place soon.

“To be honest, I’ve never quite expected that you’ll enter my life again, Yujin.” Minjoo blurted out randomly as took a bite on her roasted marshmallow, sitting on the broad wood while a can of half empty beer was tucked on the sand halfway. “When you disappeared, I thought that would be it… you would be just a part of my childhood, a good memory.”

Yujin looked at Minjoo with a soft gaze, chewing her own marshmallow gently. Late night talks were almost mandatory in this kind of situation, and honestly, Yujin was loving it.

With Minjoo in front of her, looking so gorgeous in her dress, her hair was down and cascading past her shoulders like waterfall, with a relaxed look on her face — the night was peaceful and the moon was shining brightly, the beach wasn’t too crowded and noisy — there were murmurs from the people around but faint and not loud, and the waves crashing along the shore. It was simply perfect.

“So much to my surprise when you told me that you were her. I thought of you a lot before, y’know? Wondering if that wimpy kid that loved to cry was doing fine. If she was still getting bullied? And feeling bad because I was not there to protect you anymore,” Minjoo said softly, almost shyly.

Yujin smiled at her, “You weren’t with me anymore so I tried to fight back if I was getting bullied. I became tougher because no one would protect me anymore. And you told me before, to be strong, and don’t let people downgrade me.” She responded, taking a sip from her beer. “You kept me going, you inspired me.”

Minjoo blushed a bit, rolling her eyes playfully as she finished her marshmallow. “I treasured that pink fox you gave me. It was one of the reasons why I did not give up on my dream of becoming an idol,” She blabbered, eyeing the crackling fire. Yujin was slightly surprised, tossing another wood to the flame.

“Whenever I feel weak and feel like crying, I seek it. I sometimes talk about my burden to that keychain like a madwoman. It reminds me of you, and it reminds me of the words I said to you. That you should be tough, and continue to fight. I applied those words to me.” Minjoo continued with a smile, taking another marshmallow, putting it on the stick then placed it near the fire to roast it.

Yujin gave her a soft look, and said nothing. “I’ll never forget you. I promised you that I’ll find you once I’m older.” She responded instead.

Pouting, Minjoo countered. “We were young. You were young. You might forget it and of course, sometimes, promises are shallow.”

“Not for me,” Yujin said with a smirk. “When I transferred away, the thought of you crossed my mind everyday. I became excited about waking up the next day because it means I was getting older, and the day I was able to search for you was getting nearer and nearer.”

Minjoo’s heart skipped a beat because of that. What did she even expect? Yujin was not a typical child. Aside from playing with Minjoo, she only studied. Yujin was even the one who taught her how to divide even though she was younger and their teachers weren’t even teaching them stuff like that.

“Without even making an effort or doing it intentionally, you always make my heart flutter,” Minjoo revealed, her toothy grin showing. That made Yujin shy, looking away and staring at the sea in front of them.

There was another round of silence between them, it was a nice silence though. Yujin roasted the marshmallows, stealing glances at Minjoo who was smiling and looking at the distance. Her heart was racing so fast, and her stomach was filled with butterflies.

She wanted to be here forever, with Minjoo.

“Did I already say that I’m so glad that I met you and re-entered my life?” Minjoo spoke so suddenly.

Yujin blinked, dumbfounded at what she heard. Minjoo glanced at her, her eyes turning to crescents, and wow, what a breathtaking sight.

Minjoo laughed halfheartedly at Yujin’s flushed reaction but continued anyway, “You made me happy, the happiest, Yujin. Even when I still knew you as ‘Pearl’, I kept looking forward to your arrival.” She said, tucking her hair behind her ear as she kept going, making Yujin even more flushed. “I’m so lucky to have you as a friend, a fan, and…” She paused, hesitating for a bit but said it. “...a lover.”

“Before we fly out of Hawaii and go back to our respective work, I wanted to say this while I still have some courage,” Minjoo suddenly turned serious.

Yujin felt like she was going to explode, her hold around her beer tightened. But she stared back at those starry orbs, the gap between them seemed so much closer, and it felt like they entered another whole world.

“My world revolves around being an idol, actress, and just everything related to show business but now,” Minjoo took a deep breath. “You’re slowly having a part in it. You’re so important to me, Yujin. You make me feel a lot of things that I couldn’t even explain. You’re becoming the sun to my moon. And I like it.”

Yujin thought it was random but then, she liked how everything was going although her heart was about to burst and she was red all over. She loved hearing those words from Minjoo.

Minjoo then stood up, sitting beside her, and Yujin just followed her with her eyes, feeling her breath hitch when they were closer. The idol then took Yujin’s hand, lacing their fingers together. It fit perfectly. Yujin’s hand was bigger but it engulfed Minjoo’s hand nicely.

The older woman smiled at her, looking at her as if she was her world, as if she was her everything. Yujin couldn’t even react when Minjoo pressed a kiss just right on the corner of the former’s lips then stared at her with those foxy, sparkly eyes that held the entire universe.

“I love you. And it feels right and perfect, Yujin.” Minjoo whispered.

Yujin felt time stopped for a moment, and all she could see, feel, and hear was Minjoo. And her warmth. And her touch. And her words.

“Oh my god, what does this mean?”

Okay, that shouldn’t be the best response at Minjoo’s words but Yujin couldn’t help it anyway. Those words just rolled off her tongue all of a sudden, out of shock, out of excitement, out of happiness, out of giddiness, just simply everything.

When Minjoo’s confession came out from her own mouth, Yujin lost the ability to function properly. So here she was, blurting dumb words.

Minjoo was stunned, and Yujin was gaping at her, eyes wide, and looking in disbelief. The idol chuckled, composing herself then leaned in, pressing a kiss on Yujin’s jaw to snap her out of it, and another one below her ear for good measure before whispering.

“No need to court me anymore, Yujin. Let’s be official unless you don’t want to?” Minjoo murmured right on Yujin’s reddening ear.

Yelping, Yujin looked at Minjoo with a frown when the latter leaned away to look at her, smiling teasingly. “What? Why wouldn’t I want to, Minjoo? Gods, if you just know…” She responded, tightening her hold. “Do you mean it, Joo? Do you love me? The feelings are mutual?” The way Yujin said those things, it was so desperate. She was having a hard time sinking those words in.

Minjoo was more than willing to assure her. The idol reached for the younger woman’s face, caressing her cheek lovingly with her thumb then flashed her a sweet, genuine smile. “Yes. I do. I love you, Yujin. I could say those words for as long as you want, believe me, my love.” She said, kissing the woman’s nose. “I love you, Pearl. I love you, Jin. I love you, Ahn Yujin. I love you so much—”

She wasn’t even able to continue when Yujin suddenly pressed her lips on Minjoo’s own pair, catching the latter off guard but relaxed anyway. Instantly loving the feeling of Yujin’s warm lips kissing her own, so sweet, so addicting. A feeling that she was surely that would never get tired of. She could kiss Yujin forever.

“I love you too, Minjoo. God knows I’m willing to go past my capabilities to make you the happiest,” Yujin murmured against her lips, and Minjoo was melting.

“I’m yours for as long as you want, Kim Minjoo. I’m your knight, I’m your number one fan, I’m your friend, I’m your sun, I’m your suitor, I’m your lover. Anything you want me to be.”

The couple landed in Korea, glowing, and happy. They still hadn’t told the others that they were now official and they actually wanted to tell them in person. Even though they were jetlagged from the almost ten hour flight, they still met with the members for dinner.

Wonyoung booked a whole place for them so they wouldn’t be interrupted.

The members and their manager were happy to see them back, immediately asking for their gifts like children. Wonyoung and Yuri even fought over the surfboard keychain.

After that, they had a lovely dinner and surprisingly, they did not tease or ask, just genuinely asking if Hawaii was beautiful and if they enjoyed the trip. But their eyes lingered at Minjoo and Yujin’s joined hands throughout the dinner, smiling to themselves.

They bombed them questions afterwards though when they were enjoying their desserts and that was when they finally broke the news to them. Much to Yujin’s amusement, and Minjoo’s annoyance, the three actually had a bet over them.

Sakura won because she was the only one who betted that Yujin and Minjoo would go back to Korea, finally official girlfriends. Yuri and Wonyoung betted on not yet because they were such cowards but well, the couple proved them wrong. The two were pouting but happy for Yujin and Minjoo.

The rest of dinner went fine, and they went home. Yujin drove to Minjoo’s dorm despite the exhaustion, she wanted to spend more time with her lovely girlfriend and it didn’t help that soon, they would go back to their ‘normal’. Minjoo was surely going to be busy that month because they were finalizing their comeback and soon, they would be promoting again.

Yujin was excited for it, she was still a fan of the group so she was readying herself for the albums she would buy. She was giddy to meet Minjoo again in fansigns. It was already something that she would look forward to, despite the idol being her girlfriend already. The excitement did not fade. But now though, she got the privilege to get some spoilers. Yujin asked Minjoo to not give her a lot of spoilers because after all, she was a fan and would love to be spoiled minimally only.

Minjoo only just laughed at her.

“Call me tomorrow, okay?” Minjoo said, gathering her things.

Yujin hummed, watching her girlfriend with a fond look. “I will,” She whispered. “I really enjoyed our trip, Minjoo. Can’t wait for our next.”

Minjoo smiled at her. “Me too.”

The idol kissed Yujin soundly on the lips first before hopping out of the car, looking around if there was some stray paparazzi, and there was no one suspicious. Their neighborhood was pretty secluded and heavily secured anyway. And they were in their exclusive dorm’s private driveway.

Before fully closing the door of Yujin’s car, Minjoo peeked there. “Good night, and drive safely, baby.” She reminded her then finally closed the car, running off inside the dorm while blushing.

Yujin was also stunned for a few moments before shaking her head, maneuvering her car away and continued to drive home while smiling like a fool to herself. That was the first time Minjoo called her like that, and Yujin loved it. She was so giddy.

When the chaebol got home, she whipped her phone out, and took a picture as a proof that she was already at her house then sent it to Minjoo with a message, “Just got home, baby. Rest well.”

The comeback preparation was hectic and Yujin completely understood. She would sometimes drop in their practices to visit her girlfriend and give the members and staff some food. Haseul allowed her to pay some visits as long as she wouldn’t distract them much, especially Minjoo. She also told Yujin that she should bring some bodyguards along to be a watcher of their surroundings if they were having a date.

The three of them had a talk over the couple’s relationship and the two decided to hide it for now because that would be for the best. ARIZ was having a comeback soon, and they would like to have a peaceful, hidden relationship. Once they were ready, once Minjoo was ready then they would reveal their relationship to the world. Soon but not that very moment.

Yujin did not demand much attention from her girlfriend, knowing how busy the woman was. Messages and calls were perfect and enough. Yujin was pretty busy working her off too, and she had to do it diligently especially since the group was having a comeback soon and she was planning to buy hundreds of albums again.

Soon, the group finally had their comeback. Their song charted high again as usual and it was the talk of the netizens for weeks.

Yujin found herself sitting at the fansign venue once again, setting her gigantic camera up and posted an update in her stan twitter account. She was still Minjoo’s popular fansite after all. She still needed to do this job, taking pictures of her girlfriend. Oh, she was living every fan’s dream.

When the group entered the venue, Minjoo searched for her girlfriend immediately and spotted her almost instantly. She smiled widely when their eyes met, and Yujin’s heart fluttered.

After a while, Yujin was finally lining up for the group, and Yuri was the first. The woman just kept teasing her alongside Sakura who was sitting beside her.

Once she was in front of Minjoo, the latter was grinning brightly, and they had a short conversation about a place Minjoo wanted to go, indirectly asking her a question where she wanted to go for their next date. Minjoo hummed, thinking thoroughly and circled a certain place, a cafe. Alright.

“Are you tired?” asked Yujin as she watched Minjoo doodle something on the album.

Minjoo smiled at her. “Not anymore after I saw you.” She whispered, handing the album to her. Yujin giggled, shaking her head in amusement, mumbling a ‘talker’ under her breath that made the idol laugh.

“Message me after the event?” Minjoo leaned closer.

Yujin nodded like a puppy. “Of course, I will.” She said, and she saw how Minjoo subtly held Yujin’s hand that was resting on top of the table. The younger woman blushed at the subtle action while Minjoo acted innocent, it could be seen as an act of fan service but it was more than that for the both of them. Minjoo was showing affection.

The manager asked her to scoot so she bid good bye to her pouty girlfriend with a giggle then went to Wonyoung who started to talk animatedly at her.

Once the event ended and Yujin was inside her car, she opened the album and searched for the page where Minjoo wrote something. She did not dare to read it while surrounded by many fans and it was really the right choice, seeing what Minjoo had written in there alongside her signature and that wink emoticon. Written was:

“You look so attractive today, baby. I can’t wait to meet you soon! I miss you so much and all I want to do is to shower you kisses. Call me later xx.”

And instead of Pearl or her name, Minjoo wrote ‘To my everything’.

Yujin called Minjoo afterwards, complaining that she had never requested her to write a message like that while blushing madly.

Everything was going fine for the both of them for a year and half until they had a date in this particular restaurant.

Yujin and Minjoo didn’t get to meet each other for two weeks because of the latter’s busy schedule and Yujin had to fly to Sweden with her father because of something related to business. Once they were free, they immediately arranged a meet up in this restaurant.

They were also having their late sixteenth monthsary celebration. Since they were practically busy, especially the famous idol Minjoo — they weren’t able to celebrate on time and it was fine. It had been their set-up for a long time now.

Until now, they had no problems with it. Still going strong as ever despite the difficulties, they stayed together. They loved each other too much. They grew together, and learned together. Never failing to communicate.

It was going fine and all. Everything was simply perfect.

“Yuri is dating this certain actress, she’s also famous for doing variety shows.” Minjoo gossiped, and Yujin listened intently, slicing a small piece of cake before bringing it near Minjoo’s lips, feeding her girlfriend. The idol opened and ate before continuing, “Choi Yena. Does her name ring a bell?”

Yujin loved babying Minjoo as much as Minjoo loved babying Yujin.

“Oh! Her? I know her,” Yujin said, slightly surprised. “I’m kind of friends with her.”

Minjoo was shocked to hear this information. “Oh really? How? Awe, introverted Ahn Yujin has a lot of friends?” teased the woman, poking her side. Yujin laughed, shaking her head.

“No. She became an ambassador of our brand before, and I met her. We became a little bit close after that but yeah, lately, I still haven’t talked to her. I might message her later to get some gossip. We’re going to get along very well even more and become closer since we’re dating a member of the nation’s girl group.” Yujin said as she took a sip of her coffee, wiggling her eyebrow.

Minjoo became shy, slapping her lover’s arm. Yujin just chuckled at her reaction, holding the idol’s hand and lacing their fingers together.

Yujin was nothing but a perfect girlfriend, and Minjoo was the same. Even though the idol was busier than her, she had never forgotten Yujin. Always calling her to update her and ask about her day.

It felt like they were just made for each other. They were perfect for each other. So, so perfect. They became each other’s strength and inspiration to keep going.

Match made in heaven.

Yujin stared at her lover with those lovestruck eyes, and Minjoo looked back, raising her brow a bit but there were obvious heart eyes. She tightened her hold around the younger woman’s eyes. What a perfect moment.

Only to get ruined.

“Are you guys dating?”

Once Yujin heard that familiar manly voice, she immediately looked behind them, and was alert but she did not let go of Minjoo’s hand, just hiding their hands between their sides. Their smiles were erased from their faces.

Yujin’s face went grim when she saw a man standing by the archway, wearing a smirk as he looked at them amusedly and wickedly. A very familiar man. The same man Yujin almost punched after he harassed Minjoo.

“ off, Hyeokjin.” Yujin cursed, glaring at the man.

Hyeokjin shrugged, and caressed his chin. “So you guys are indeed dating,” He thought out loud, chuckling darkly. “This is going to be great news. Member of popular girl-group ARIZ, Kim Minjoo, revealed to be dating the heiress of A-Corp, Ahn Yujin. Powerful headline, eh?”

Yujin felt anger rising on top of her head. Minjoo was slightly scared, squeezing Yujin’s hand reassuringly. The look on Hyeokjin’s face, it looked like he was willing to ruin them for fun. Must be revenge. What a very unlucky day to stumble upon this .

The restaurant they were at were not exclusive for them, and people minded their own businesses here but of course, there had to be a stupid motherer like Hyeokjin.

“Shut up before I really ruin your face,” Yujin hissed.

Hyeokjin raised both of his arms, seemingly surrendering but the wicked smile on his face said otherwise. He was planning something. Spoiled chaebol kids were like this.

“Woah, easy girlie,” Hyeokjin mocked. “Does your father know this, Ahn? Does Minjoo-ssi’s agency know this? Woah, this is going to be a huge scandal.” He mocked then opened his phone, showing a picture of them smiling at each other, so in love.

Yujin’s eyes hardened and stood up from her seat, approaching the man while Minjoo tried to hold her back. “Delete that.”

Hyeokjin laughed. “One condition,” He said, and of course, he was going to use it as blackmail. He then pointed at Minjoo. “Your pretty girlfriend will have to spend time with me. She looked like she hadn’t experienced a man’s touch—”

Yujin punched him square right into his face, making him stumble. Yujin’s bodyguards saw the commotion and immediately went there. “Go to hell.”

The younger woman’s eyes were bloodshot, her ears were ringing the moment she heard those words coming out of his filthy mouth. Minjoo was panicking, holding Yujin’s back, hugging her. “Yujin, no. Stop, baby.”

Hyeokjin wasn’t very amused with this, wiping his bloody lips as he stood up, almost stumbling again but he regained balance. He pointed at Yujin, shaking. “You’re done. Both of you.” He said, and walked away.

A supposed to be a happy meet-up turned into disaster. God wasn’t on their side that day. It happened too quickly that Yujin wasn’t able to get the grasp of their situation.

Yujin knew that man and he was surely going to ruin them because he was pathetic. And they needed to move fast.

“I’m sorry that things turned out like this.” Yujin immediately apologized to her girlfriend when they were on their way to Minjoo’s dorm. She was solemn and guilty that Minjoo had seen her like that, losing her temper and cool. “Now, we need to fix this mess. We need to talk to Haseul-nim.”

Minjoo looked at her, worried. “Hey, it’s okay. It’s inevitable, Yujin-ah. Don’t blame yourself. I’m glad you punched that disgusting er.”

Upon hearing that, Yujin felt angry all over again. She should’ve killed him on the spot when she still got the chance.

They pulled over Minjoo’s dorm’s driveway, and the idol stayed still, observing Yujin.

Seeing that Yujin was tense and silent, Minjoo heaved a sigh and reached for her lover’s hand, tightly holding it. “I’m prepared for the worst, Yujin,” She whispered, and the younger woman glanced at her, her eyes sparkling. Yujin smiled tiredly at her girlfriend.

“As long as you’re with me, we’ll get through this.”

“Just don’t leave me no matter what, Yujin.”

Yujin’s eyes softened as she stared at Minjoo who was looking at her desperately. She brought her hands near her lips, pressing a kiss on the back of Minjoo’s hand then murmured.

“I will never do that, Joo. I’ll stay by your side, even at the worst times. We’ll be together through storms and rainbows.”

Dating rumors regarding Minjoo started to pop out two days after the incident and they weren’t even surprised at this point. Hyeokjin was a petty man, Yujin knew that well, and now she was planning to sabotage the guy’s company. Soon, she was finding the right time, and she was making sure that she would settle things with Minjoo first.

Yujin and Minjoo found themselves in a conference room with Haseul and other staff, also the members, looking serious about the situation. It was silent, and no one still dared to talk.

The fans were asking for a statement already about the situation because it was getting out of hand already. Dispatch already released a picture of them, and surely, Hyeokjin sold the picture he took to them. Thankfully, Yujin’s face wasn’t too clear but their visible smiles to each other told that they were really madly in love with each other.

Most reactions were not harsh, most were even supportive of Minjoo but of course, there were some people who were against it. Threatening to boycott and un-stan Minjoo because of the scandal. They couldn’t care less for those small numbers of people.

Haseul stared at Minjoo then finally spoke, “Your call, Minjoo,” She said, and Minjoo went tense, looking up at their CEO with a surprised look. Haseul just smiled. “It’s both of your decisions. You want to reveal and openly date? Sure. No? We’ll find excuses. Don’t worry.” She said, and leaned against the table. “I’m open with it. I’m great with any decision, and your members also expressed their thoughts, they are also okay with it. As long as both of you are happy.”

Minjoo looked at her members with teary eyes. She was having a hard time deciding. Would it be selfish of her if she would choose the option where they would reveal that they were dating? It might affect the group’s image so learning that they were going to support any decision Minjoo would make — it was relieving. But still, it was hard.

Yujin reassured her, pulling her close. “I’m good either way, love. Wherever you’re comfortable, I’ll stick to it.” She whispered.

It was a hard decision. She wanted for people to know that she was off-limits and dating already but she also wanted some peace. She knew that the paparazzi would be all over them once she would say that they were dating.

It might affect Yujin too.

Minjoo thought of it thoroughly, considering Yujin in her decision too. She knew that the latter wouldn’t say anything regarding this and was willing to do anything for her so she tried her best to think of what was the best for them and their relationship.

With that, Minjoo finally decided what she wanted. She would follow her heart this time, and this decision was something she would not regret.

After the meeting, Yujin was called by her father and it was perfect timing to finally confess the truth after hiding it from him for a long time. She kissed Minjoo goodbye after that, telling her that she would call after and update each other.

Yujin knocked on his father’s study. He was at his home, and Yujin was at their mansion once again. She was not living there anymore though but she still visited sometimes. After knocking, she waited for her father’s words, and once he said she could come in, she did.

She saw her father sitting behind a huge mahogany table, reading paperworks, and not looking up at her. Until now, Yujin was still a little bit intimidated by her father. He was a powerful man after all, authoritative and insanely intelligent. A lot said that she got all of her traits from her father except the playfulness, she got that from her late mother. They looked the same too but her eyes, she got it from her late mother.

“Greetings, Father,” She said with formality as she halted her steps in front of his desk, her back was straight, and showing confidence even though she was slightly scared inside.

She was planning to reveal that she was dating Minjoo, and she was scared that he might say that they should break up. Yujin wouldn’t let that happen though.

“I’m here to say something.”

Mr. Ahn looked up, and he placed the papers down to put his full attention to his daughter. “Very well. You go first.” He said, and his voice was deep and serious.

Yujin gulped, and toughened herself up. For Minjoo. For them. “I’m dating someone.” She revealed, and she felt a weight getting lifted up from her shoulders upon saying that. “I’m dating a lovely woman named Kim Minjoo, father.”

Mr. Ahn wasn’t surprised or anything, and just stared at his daughter for a few moments before nodding. “I know,” He said, and Yujin did not react. “That fool… Kim Hyeokbin’s son, who was that again? He asked for a meeting just to tell me that as if I don’t know. That’s why I called you here.”

Yujin’s eyes narrowed, her fists turning into balls. Always meddling in her business. “Since when?”

The man hummed, “Since when did you both date?” He countered.

With a sigh, “Since last year.” She confessed honestly.

“Then since last year. Of course, I know everything, Ahn Yujin. I’m just waiting for you to say it to me.” He revealed, shaking his head then glanced at his daughter who stiffened. “I know what you’re doing, Yujin. You’re my daughter after all. I never say anything but I know everything.”

Yujin wasn’t too shocked at this information. She thought she was being discreet though. “Then why did you not say anything?” She asked, almost a murmur.

Mr. Ahn grabbed a paper, silently reading it before responding, “Because I see that it’s not affecting your work here in our company and it’s inspiring you to do well so I kept my mouth shut,” He said, and flipped the page. “As long as it won’t affect your performance, I have no say in that.”

Yujin bitterly scoffed. Business, business, of course. What did she even expect?

“Yes, father. I will make sure Minjoo won’t get in my way regarding my work here in the company. She inspired me to even work harder so I hope you’re alright with it.” Yujin said robotically.

Her father nodded along, and grabbed his pen, continuing his work. Yujin thought it was her cue to leave, swallowing her disappointment but hey, it was better than breaking them apart forcefully.

“You’re free to do as you wish, Yujin. As long as it won’t taint the company’s image and you’ll do better then alright. No say in that.” Mr. Ahn added, and Yujin gave him a tight smile, nodding like an obedient puppy.

She was about to go out of the study for real when she heard her father speaking again that made her turn back her heels again.

“And if it makes you happy, then go.” He said without looking up from his papers.

Yujin’s eyes widened. She certainly did not expect that. Growing up, Yujin was deprived of her father’s affection. He wasn’t affectionate and he always said and ordered Yujin to do something always related to her studies and business. He never expressed his support, until today so she was beyond shocked.

Adding to her shock, her father said something again.

“I would love to meet Kim Minjoo. Arrange dinner for the three of us once she’s not too busy anymore.” He said, clearing his throat, a little bit shy and Yujin swore that was the first time she saw her father acting like that and it made her grin.

Yujin bowed, and smiled at her shy father who did not dare to meet her eyes.

“I will,”

JO Entertainment confirmed that ARIZ’s Kim Minjoo is dating someone as of currently.

After days of being silent over rumors of one of their popular artists, JO Entertainment finally released a statement regarding the rumor of Kim Minjoo dating a mysterious woman.

“We confirm that ARIZ’s Kim Minjoo is dating someone. After discussing with the agency, Minjoo came to a decision that she will not deny the speculations. She’s currently dating a non-celebrity and she wants to keep her identity unknown as she wants her lover to have a peaceful life. She’s hoping that the fans will respect her and hoping that they’ll continue to support the group despite the issue.”

Once the agency released their statement, Minjoo also posted a handwritten letter in her SNS.

“I’m sure a lot of you guys are still shocked at the news that came out. I no longer want to hide that fact. I, Kim Minjoo, is dating someone right now. I love this person so much and I hope you will respect me, respect us. I hope this won’t affect you as I’m just a human being who also has the ability to fall in love. Despite this, I will be the same Kim Minjoo who you adore, and I will be better.

This person makes me happy as much as you, my fans, makes me happy.

Please support ARIZ until the end. We still have a lot to show. I love you guys a lot.”

Minjoo is reportedly dating this mysterious woman for a year and half already.

JO Ent. is also going to take action if someone dares to disrespect the couple’s privacy and malicious comments pointed at the group.

///

Minjoo came with that decision that day, and everyone was alright with it. She considered Yujin, and they would reveal her identity once everything was better. She didn’t want for her girlfriend to be pressured and pushed to the spotlight. Yujin, after all, loved her personal space and privacy.

Haseul also told Minjoo to have a week break, alongside the group and wait for the fire to die down.

Fortunately, everyone was supportive and thought it wasn’t a big deal. There were some negative comments but still, positivity outweighed. Her fans defended her from the haters and all. The brands she was endorsing did not drop her, and even though the issue was the talk of the town, it did not change much in her career.

People showed support in Minjoo’s relationship and the idol was moved by the hefty amount of support she got. Articles regarding openly dating should be normalized and other more were released. It was nice that the people around were getting more open to this kind of stuff.

Minjoo could breathe freely. She wasn’t keeping a secret to her fans anymore.

It was lovely. So lovely.

When Haseul told her that they were having a break, Minjoo immediately told Yujin that they should go on a spontaneous trip to Hawaii and her girlfriend immediately agreed, booking them a flight. They also asked the members to come.

The members were a little bit hesitant at first, saying that they were going to bother them or something. Minjoo almost smacked them all. But they tagged along anyway, promising that they wouldn’t bother the couple much and rent another room away from them.

Minjoo leaned against the railing of the balcony, staring at the sea that she missed admiring from afar. She missed the scenery, she missed the smell of saltwater, she missed the sound of waves crashing with each other.

Seeing the wide vast glistening blue sea was enough to make her feel relaxed. What was happening in the past week drained her off, dealing with the scandal and the terrifying feeling of losing supporters because of a mere dating scandal… everything was so intense.

“Did you miss Hawaii that much?” asked someone from behind.

That voice made her heart instantly flutter. Minjoo took a deep breath then turned a bit, her gaze following Yujin who was approaching her with a smile, settling beside her — staring at the sea.

“I do~ Even though we did not stay here for so long last time, yes.” Minjoo murmured, and scooted closer to her lover who immediately engulfed her into a warm embrace. Yujin’s scent filled her lungs.

Suddenly, everything felt so right and perfect. Getting caged in Yujin’s arms while they admire the view from afar. It was so warm and peaceful, like Minjoo was about to float, and Yujin was just keeping her from floating off the ground.

What the hell would she do without this person? She must be living her usual, boring idol routine. With Yujin in her life, everything was spectacular and full of rainbows. Everything was better.

“I love you,” Minjoo blurted against Yujin’s chest randomly. And she felt how the steady pace of Yujin’s beating heart increased. That made her smile.

Yujin chuckled weakly, pressing a kiss on her head. “So random,” She murmured, and Minjoo whined softly, wrapping her arms around the younger woman’s waist. “I love you too.” replied the woman before planting another kiss on her ear and finally broke the embrace, smiling at Minjoo.

Yujin was brighter than the sun that was blazing and shining above.

“Let’s go now. The other girls are waiting for us in the lobby.” Yujin said, and Minjoo nodded, letting her lover drag her out of their room to spend time with her members.

Minjoo felt perfect. Yujin was perfect.

Soon enough, she would be able to proudly tell the world that Ahn Yujin was her not-so-secret, not-so-non- girlfriend.
