"Ace if you're not here in 10 minutes I'm leaving" Sooryun threatened and ended the call. She was waiting at the train entrance for her best friend ace who is, again, late.

She sighed and ran her fingers through her  hair and scrolled through her phone to pass the time

Just when she wanted to call her best friend again, a girl with jet black hair and dark makeup arrived, panting.

"Damn it Sooryun why are you always early?!" Ace asked with a frown and Sooryun just gave her a look.

"You said 1.30 pm and I came at 1.40, what part of that is early? Meanwhile, you kept me waiting and came at 1.50. What if I came at 1.30?!" Sooryun nagged and ace rolled her eyes

"Okay Ms. Kim let's just head off before you turn into my lecturer again," Ace said and sauntered off. Sooryun shook her head and followed after her best friend
 

They headed to eat at a hotpot nearby and began to window shop for a while

"Hey Ace, I need a new planner and notebooks for school. Let's go to typo" Sooryun suggested and Ace rolled her eyes

"You'll go to typo even if you don't need anything from there Soo" Ace brought up and Sooryun smiled sheepishly.

"Not my fault I love stationary" Sooryun said and Ace just gave a sarcastic smile

"Yeah, and one day I need to make sure you don't end up marrying your favorite pen or something," Ace said and Sooryun smacked her arm which made Ace flinch slightly

"I won't end up marrying a pen you idiot now are you coming or not?" Sooryun threatened and Ace just sighed and trudged after the girl

Sooryun smiled happily as the both of them made their way to Sooryun's favorite stationery shop

"But why so soon?! What if we have someone we want to date?!" Taehyung exclaimed.

His parents just sat there with a poker-faced look.

"Not only are your grades slipping, but you're also playing with girl's hearts as if they were nothing. You're getting married unless you show us you're committed to a one and the only girl" Mrs. Kim said sternly

Taehyung frowned in distaste and ruffled his hair.

"Give me a week, I'll prove to you I have someone in mind," Taehyung said and his father sighed

"Taehyung-ah, one week is not enough to prove commitment to a relationship" Mr. Kim said sternly and Taehyung shook his head

"We've been talking for a while and I've been meaning to ask her out. I'm really serious about her please give me a chance" Taehyung begged and his parents gave each other a look and sighed

"Then what about your cousin Yoongie?" Mr. Kim asked and Taehyung gave a goofy smile.

"He has one too so give the 2 of us a chance mom, dad. We don't want to marry someone we don't love" Taehyung begged and inwardly cringed at his own words

*Urgh love my *

"Okay, but you have to stay with her for at least a year or if she breaks up with you to prove this if not, you're going through with the arranged marriage

I'll talk to my brother to let Yoongie off the hook and the deal" Mrs. Kim said and Taehyung nodded his head excitedly

"Thanks, mom!" Taehyung said and rushed out of the house. His parents looked at the closed door and sighed

"You really think he has someone in mind?" Mrs. Kim asked worriedly, not wanting the girl to be played with. Mr. Kim patted her back soothingly

"I'm sure there is a way"

"HOW DO YOU EXPECT US TO GET A GIRLFRIEND IN A WEEK?!" Yoongie asked and Taehyung sighed and shrugged.

The two were sitting at a cafe in their local shopping mall. There were only 2 of them since Taehyung specifically called out his cousin to meet him ASAP.

"We'll find a way Hyung" Taehyung said and Yoongie sighed.

"Why am I dragged in? I don’t play as bad as you" Yoongie whined and Taehyung rolled his eyes

"Hyung, if my parents already took action against me, your parents are going to too. Even my dad asked about you" Taehyung explained and Yoongie groaned

"Did you describe her personality yet?" Yoongie asked and Taehyung shook his head

"But I know my parents want someone innocent and you know I'm not into those types" Taehyung whined and Yoongie nodded.

"Well, we better search for someone soon and fast. We only have a week" Yoongie said and Taehyung looked around

Since they were cousins, Yoongie thought it was a good idea if the girls were sisters or at least best friends. At least that way, if they can’t contact the other, they have a way of finding them

"What about them?" Taehyung pointed at the two friends who just came out from the stationary shop, arm in arm.

One of them had dark makeup on while the other looked pretty innocent-minded. The 'innocent' one was tugging on the other's hands and laughing together with the girl with dark makeup

"They look like they're best friends. If not, how can the innocent-looking one be hanging around with a girl so scary?" Taehyung muttered and Yoongie nodded in agreement.

"Then shall we ask them?" Yoongie asked and Taehyung nodded.

"I really wanted the wilder one though. Ugh, looks like I'll be suffering for a year" Taehyung whined and Yoongie chuckled

The two of them stood up and headed towards the two girls, who were still laughing and talking

Taehyung managed to stop the other girl with the dark aura by tapping her shoulder. The two girls turned and the pair of cousins gave them a smile

The one who looked more innocent managed to return the smile while the one with the dark aura was looking at them with a pretty intimidating face

"Hi, are yo-"
"I'm not interested in buying any insurance and if you're going to talk about telling my friend to lose weight I am going to pummel you," the one with the dark aura said and her friend just smacked her arm

"Ace, don't be so mean. Let him talk" the innocent one spoke and Ace rolled her eyes

"But I'm tired of all these people trying to make sales or promote weight loss. Trust me, Soo, you look fabulous" Ace said and Sooryun made a face

Taehyung and Yoongie stood there awkwardly as the 2 good friends argued about outer appearances. Taehyung looked at his watch and nudged Yoongie to say something

Yoongie managed to let out a cough and the two girls faced him

"We're not doing any of the things you guys said. We just wanted to know if you guys are good friends and are willing to help us" Yoongie said and Ace frowned

"Yeah she's my best friend but what do you need from us?" Ace asked and Taehyung nudged Yoongie. He gave the younger guy a look and bit his lip slightly

"Do you mind being our girlfriends for some time?" Yoongie asked and Ace gave a judgemental look while Sooryun was slightly surprised

"Is this a very lame pick-up line or something? I don't have time for this" Ace complained, clearly annoyed. Sooryun just patted her arm, indicating that they should go

Taehyung saw that and managed to stop the 2 before they left.

"It's not a pick-up line. Just be our girlfriends for a year" Taehyung said and Ace frowned

"What's in it for us?" Ace asked and Sooryun kept smacking Ace's arms, to which she did not care about.

At that moment, Taehyung and Yoongie felt lucky that they were rich

"Anything you want, unlimited shopping, no more public transport and all you have to do is act in front of our parents" Taehyung persuaded and Yoongie nodded in agreement

Ace pretended to give it a thought while Sooryun continued to hit her arms and say it wasn't a good idea.

"I would agree but...you have to fetch us from school too. Everyday. Fail and this goes out" Ace said and brought her hands out.

Taehyung and Yoongie looked at each other and shrugged. Taehyung held out his hands and Ace held his. They gave each other a challenging look and shook their hands

“Deal” 

Sooryun frowned and disconnected their hands, clearly frustrated.

"Ace are you crazy?! My mum would murder me if she knew about this!" Sooryun scolded and Ace grinned while Taehyung inwardly groaned

*Innocent and a mummy's girl? I'm going to die*

"You'll just have to say nothing about this" Ace replied and Sooryun shook her head

"You can do it but I don't want to. I'm heading home" Sooryun said and wanted to walk off when Taehyung grabbed her hands. Sooryun tried to shake his hands off but he kept a firm yet gentle grip

"Look, we really need your help here. It's not easy for us to ask random people for this favor" Taehyung said and Sooryun sighed

"Why us? There are a bunch more best friends you can get out there" Sooryun argued and Taehyung just groaned

"I just said that i-"
"Because you two are opposites and it's not every day we see best friends who signify the angel and devil" Yoongie retaliated and Ace let out a chuckle

"Come on Soo. I know that unlimited shopping caught your attention. We can finally stop window shopping" Ace tempted and Sooryun sighed

"Can you at least release my hands?" Sooryun asked and gave a slightly pleading look to Taehyung.

He glanced at their intertwined hand and immediately let them go, looking away

*her hands surprisingly felt nic-wait KIM TAEHYUNG DON'T YOU DARE THINK OF THAT. SHE IS NOT YOUR TYPE!*

Sooryun muttered a small thank you and headed back to her best friend's side

"We'll agree to the deal but my family should know nothing of this" Sooryun said and the cousins nodded

"So, who is who's boyfriend and girlfriend?" Ace asked curiously and Sooryun smacked her arm. Ace just gave her a frown and asked what.

"Can we at least know your names first?" Sooryun asked and Yoongie chuckled

 "Sorry, that was pretty rude of us. I'm Yoongie but you can call me Suga. This is my cousin Taehyung, you can call him V" Yoongie introduced and the best friends nodded

“I’m Ace and this innocent one here is Sooryun. We’re best friends since middle school” Ace introduced and Yoongie smiled

"Well, I can see that Ace is the more daring one so you would be with me. Taehyung would be with Sooryun" Yoongie gave a smile and the two girls nodded again

"Well, we have to head back because we have classes tomorrow. Shall we switch numbers?" Ace suggested and the cousins nodded

Taehyung held out his phone and Sooryun hesitantly held out hers. They switched numbers without saying a word and handed each other’s phones back

"One last thing, we have to take a photo together. At least, we have some proof that we got together" Yoongie brought up and the girls nodded, Sooryun slightly hesitant

Taehyung placed his hand around Sooryun's shoulders and held out his phone. He plastered a sweet and warm smile on his face

Sooryun's heart hammered in her chest like she just ran a marathon. She slightly leaned closer to him, her head almost resting on his chest, and plastered a sweet smile

After the photo snapped, Taehyung took his arms off her and Sooryun immediately went by her best friend's side

"We'll contact you, girls, if we need anything. Feel free to do the same" Yoongie gave a smile and Ace replied with a nod while Sooryun looked away.

Once the boys were out of sight, Sooryun smacked Ace's arm harshly and Ace winced and glared at her

"You are owing me big time for this!" Sooryun nagged and Ace rolled her eyes

"When are you going to keep being single and mourning over that useless ex of yours? Are you not going to like every single guy on earth because of him?" Ace asked and Sooryun pouted

"I do like someone okay? I just didn't tell you because I just started crushing on him" Sooryun argued and Ace sighed

"Well, it's too late to back out now. Besides, I got you such a handsome and rich guy. You should be thanking me once you guys get together for real" Ace winked and Sooryun made a face

"No way. He's so cold. His face tells me that I'm totally not his type" Sooryun replied and Ace wrapped an arm around her shoulders

"Don't worry. By the end of this year, he'll be begging you to be his real girlfriend just you wait" Ace winked and Sooryun sighed

"I really don't know why you, out of a billion people, are my best friend," Sooryun said and Ace chuckled, and with that, they headed home together

Taehyung drove back to his house after that huge risk of asking mere strangers to be their girlfriends.

*I just hope mom and dad don't stalk her or anything or I'm dead* Taehyung sighed as he parked in his garage.

He locked his car before trudging his way into his house.

"Taehyung where were you?" Mrs. Kim asked, shocking him. Taehyung looked at his mum who was sitting at the sofa with a cup of tea in her hands, a worried expression plastered on her face.

Taehyung softened and took a seat next to his mum, sighing

"I just went out and confessed to Sooryun," Taehyung said and his mum looked at him with a surprised look

"I didn't expect you to confess that fast," his mum said and Taehyung chuckled

"With a time limit like that, I'm willing to take the risk mum" Taehyung replied and Mrs. Kim felt slightly guilty that she had done that

"I'm guessing she said no?" Mrs. Kim asked and Taehyung shook his head. He then took out his phone and showed the photo that he took with the girl

"She said yes!" Taehyung said 'cheerfully' and his mum breathed out a relieved sigh

"Goodness, I thought you got rejected. I was about to feel bad for giving you a time limit" Mrs. Kim said and Taehyung chuckled

"Fate won't go anywhere if it's meant to be mum," Taehyung said and inwardly cringed

*I should go for acting* he thought

"She's pretty and she has a pretty name too" Mrs. Kim smiled and Taehyung nodded

"Well, I won’t hurry to meet her, only when she's comfortable enough" Mrs. Kim winked and Taehyung breathed out a relieved sigh

"Yeah, I wouldn't want to scare her or anything. I just wanted to request that from you" Taehyung said cheekily and his mum just pinched his cheek playfully

"Cheeky boy. Go and get some sleep. You have school tomorrow" Mrs. Kim brought up and Taehyung groaned

"I hate school" Taehyung mumbled and his mum just gave him a look

"What did you say?" Mrs. Kim asked judgingly and Taehyung just gave a sheepish smile and shook his head, leaping to his room

Sooryun went back home with a heavy feeling in her chest. After taking a bath and changing, she sat down next to her mother who was resting on the couch

"Hey dear, how was your day out with Ace?" Mrs. Wen asked and Sooryun just gave her mum a small smile

"You know, just the usual. Window shopping clothes, eating hotpot and I bought a few stuff from Typo for school" Sooryun explained and her mum chuckled

"Why is it that nothing interesting happens when you two go out? It's the same thing over and over again" her mum joked and Sooryun just gave an awkward giggle

*You don't know how 'interesting' today was mum* Sooryun bit her lips nervously

"Don't you have school tomorrow? Go and get some rest" Mrs. Wen said and Sooryun nodded. Placing a kiss on her mum's cheek, Sooryun wished her mum Good night and I love you before heading to her room

She laid on her bed and stared at the ceiling, recalling the event that happened earlier

*This is going to be a harsh year for me...* Sooryun sighed and hugged her teddy bear close

"Please go easy on me fate...”

**The next day**

Sooryun prepared herself for school the next day. She did her daily routine before receiving a text from ace

'Go out a bit later today. I got Taehyung to send you to school ;)'

Sooryun's eyes widened and she hurriedly sent back a reply

'ARE YOU INSANE?! I CAN'T BE SEEN WITH THAT GUY! THE SCHOOL WOULD TALK!'
'Don't worry I'll cover for you. Just do what I say and enjoy your free ride to school :)'
'Ace this is a really bad idea'
'Just do it.'

Sooryun groaned and put down her phone. Her mum walked past and looked at her curiously

"Not heading to school yet Soo? You would be out of the door by now" Mrs. Wen asked and Sooryun shook her head

"The first hour of class was cut since the teachers have an emergency meeting for some reason. I'll be out in like half an hour or so" Sooryun lied and felt her heart drop for doing that

*Sooryun you better make up for all this lying* her conscious scolded her and she felt her heart drop more when her mum gave her a smile

"Okay then. Just make sure you tell me before you go off to school" Mrs. Wen smiled and Sooryun nodded her head

When her mum went back to her room, Sooryun picked up her phone and saw that she got a text from Taehyung

'I'll be there in 10 minutes. Be down by the time I reach' Sooryun sighed at how cold he talked and sent ok as a reply

She bid her mum goodbye and headed down. Plucking her earpiece in, she listened to some songs before hearing a horn.

Looking up, she saw an expensive-looking Mercedes car and Taehyung in the driver's seat.

*So he's a legal driver. He must be older than me since he could drive. Here it goes* Sooryun bit her lip and headed to the car

She almost wanted to sit at the back when Taehyung shook his head and motioned his head to the passenger sit next to him

"Check your phone," Taehyung said and she got inside the car. She scrolled through her phone and saw a message Taehyung sent a few minutes ago.

'My car has a black box that my parents monitor. You know what to do'

Sooryun inwardly groaned and plastered a smile on her face

"Hey, how was your sleep?" Sooryun asked, mentally face-palmed herself for sounding slightly awkward

"It was terrible" Taehyung pouted and Sooryun technically couldn't believe how fast he changed.

"Why?" Sooryun asked, slightly concerned about his sleeping pattern

"Because I didn't get to dream about you" Taehyung smile cheekily and Sooryun's eyes widened slightly before she pushed him

"Ew that was so cheesy," Sooryun said with a light giggle and Taehyung chuckled

"How was yours? I bet you dreamt of me" Taehyung gave a small smirk and Sooryun rolled her eyes

"Right. I dreamt of a big scary monster so I guess it can resemble you" Sooryun replied, remembering his cold text earlier that morning

Taehyung stopped at a traffic light and poked her waist for that comment

"I'm anything but a monster okay? I'm so angelic" Taehyung said and Sooryun chortled at that comment

"Yeah, very angelic," Sooryun said and Taehyung chuckled. The rest of the ride there was pretty silent since Sooryun was tired so Taehyung told her to rest

Taehyung stopped by Sooryun's school and realized that it was the school his parents had wanted him to go to

*She must be very smart to be able to get in here. Well, I should make use of this one year and tell her to tutor me so mum and dad would stop nagging me on grades*

"Sooryun~ Princess, wake up" Taehyung shook Sooryun awake and she yawned slightly. Blinking, she looked around and saw that they arrived

"Oh, we're here. I'll get going then" Sooryun said and Taehyung faked a cough. Sooryun looked at him curiously as he pointed at his cheek

Realizing what he wanted, her cheeks turned red and she shook her head. Taehyung pouted and whined

"Why? I'm already your boyfriend" Taehyung whined and Sooryun inwardly groaned and mentally cursed Ace

*Ace I'll kill you today I swear*

Sooryun leaned in and placed a quick peck on Taehyung's cheeks before opening the door. She wanted to run out when Taehyung caught her hand

"I'll fetch you from school later okay? Wait for me" Taehyung said with a cheeky smile on his face and Sooryun nodded

When Taehyung's grip loosened, Sooryun bid him goodbye and ran up to her classroom. Taehyung looked at her running back and almost chuckled and how the girl was reacting

*How can someone be so innocent and shy?* Taehyung shook his head and began to drive off to go to his own school

"Oh hey would you look at that, my best friend has red cheeks I wonder what happened" Ace teased when she saw Sooryun storming angrily towards her

"Ace! You're so dead!" Sooryun said and started hitting her best friend's shoulder. Ace winced and kept a firm grip on Sooryun's hands

"What?! So you had to kiss his cheeks so what? You're lucky you didn't need to kiss his lips" Ace commented and Sooryun shook off her best friend's hands-off

"You're paying for my lunch," Sooryun said and Ace rolled her eyes

"Whatever makes you happy grumpy pants," Ace said and Sooryun gave her a glare before storming off to her own class

Ace looked at her best friend's back view and chuckled to herself

*This is going to be a fun year for the both of us*

School went by in a breeze and Sooryun was now waiting with Ace at their school's pick up area for their 'boyfriends'

"Damn, we can't have dinner together anymore," Ace said and Sooryun pouted

"I really wanted to eat today though," Sooryun said and Ace nodded. Before she can speak up, a familiar-looking car pulled up and Taehyung stepped out

"Let's go, babe. Hey Ace! Yoongie Hyung will be here in a while" Taehyung said with a smile and Ace nodded, giving her best friend a light push.

Sooryun glared at her and smacked Ace's arm before heading towards her 'boyfriend'. She gave Taehyung a quick hug before entering the car

Taehyung helped close the car door and waved at Ace before getting into the driver's seat and driving off.

"How's school?" Taehyung asked and Sooryun just shrugged

"The usual. It's getting tougher as the weeks pass. I'm already having a test on Friday'' Sooryun said tiredly and Taehyung held her hand, surprising her

"I'm sure you can do it. You're so smart" Taehyung said and Sooryun felt her heart race.

"I'm not that smart..." Sooryun whispered and Taehyung chuckled

"You entered a school my parents have always wanted me to go into, that's smart enough to me," Taehyung said and Sooryun felt guilty for saying that

"I'm sorry" Sooryun mumbled and Taehyung curiously looked and her when he stopped by the red light

"Why did you apologize? It's not your fault babe" Taehyung asked and Sooryun shrugged

"I just felt guilty. Plus, your parents sound so strict, I'm worried for you" Sooryun said, half of her was genuinely worried for her fake boyfriend while the other half was restricting her from saying anymore

Taehyung chuckled and continued driving, his hands not leaving hers.

"My parents are actually great people babe. They just tend to have high expectations, being CEO of their own company.

People look up to them and their one and only heir. Stressful actually" Taehyung said and Sooryun nodded in understanding

"Well, if you need any tutoring you know you can ask me anything right?" Sooryun said and Taehyung inwardly cheered

*Guess I don't have to risk my ego asking first*
 

"Are you sure you want to help me? I'd probably not concentrate and just stare at you" Taehyung said, chuckling when Sooryun hit his arm

"If you want to be able to get to a better school then you better not stare and concentrate or I quit," Sooryun said and Taehyung shook his head

"I'll concentrate, I swear I will," Taehyung said and Sooryun smiled

"Okay then, I'll tutor you every Thursday'' Sooryun said and Taehyung nodded. The car stopped by Sooryun's apartment and she accidentally thanked Taehyung formally

"Stop that or I'll force you to call me Oppa again," Taehyung said, slight annoyance was heard in his voice. Sooryun cringed

The only time she used that word was for her real and only brother. She never called anyone else, even her guy friends, Oppa. She doesn't like that word at all but seeing that Taehyung is trying to cover her mistake, she smiled

"Oops sorry. I'll get going now. Bye op-pa" Sooryun said teasingly and Taehyung looked at her with an amused look

*Maybe she's not as sweet and innocent after all. Let's get to know you better Wen Sooryun*
