“going out to grab food, wanna come?”

joohyun, her roommate, shoots up from lying down on the couch and excitedly asks, “can we get jajangmyeon?”

“sure,” seungwan replies with a shrug as she looks for her car keys. “i’m up for anything.” joohyun cheers and grabs seungwan’s hoodie by the door, rushing out of their shared dorm as she throws a ‘stealing your hoodie bye!’ at the younger girl behind her.

seungwan rolls her eyes and wears joohyun’s coat instead.

she jogs a bit to catch up with the older girl and they eventually reach the parking lot where her humble hyundai is waiting.

seungwan gets in and starts the car as joohyun lets herself in. she’s about to drive away when joohyun speaks up.

“your seatbelt?”

“oh, well, it’s barely a ten minute drive, i’ll be fine.”

joohyun, with her seatbelt already on, crosses her arms and looks at her with a raised brow, “so? i don’t care, wear it.”

seungwan grumbles, not wanting to argue any further because she’s hungry, and reaches for her seatbelt. “fine, fine. there. can we drive now mom?”

 joohyun smiles up at her approvingly, “yes!”

seungwan pretends to be annoyed and drives away while muttering, “safety nerd.”

but joohyun hears it nonetheless.

“hey!” she exclaims and smacks seungwan’s arm. (“ow, you !”) “better safe than sorry .”

“don’t hit me! i’m driving!” seungwan responds, sparing a quick glance to glare at the older girl before returning her eyes to the road.

joohyun huffs in her seat. “yeah, well, you deserved it.” she reclines her seat and adds, “besides i don’t know why you don’t like it.”

“well i don’t know why you like it.”

joohyun shrugs, “i like being tied up.”

the car screeches to a halt as seungwan hits the brakes in shock. 

“im sorry, you what?”

joohyun realizes the double meaning behind what she said and sputters out an explanation. 

“i-i mean, i mean in this context! in this context and this context alone, do i like being, being, tied up. down! tied down? i don’t know, i just, i like being restrained—i mean, wearing, wearing s-seatbelts, yeah.”

joohyun’s blushing furiously now and her hands are moving around exaggeratedly as she tries to talk without stuttering.

the older girl continues rambling but seungwan’s mind is too quick and too imaginative for her own good. she wonders what joohyun would look like, all tied up and pretty. her mind plays a stupidly vivid scenario of joohyun tied to her bed with her hands above her head, ropes taut yet comfortable against her smooth, pale skin that’s covered with a slight sheen of sweat. she thinks joohyun looks beautiful breathless and straining against her ropes as she chases after her own high, begging seungwan to move her fingers faster as her back arches off the bed with a sweet moan—

beep! beep!

seungwan’s mind is pulled out of the gutter and her ears get painted a furious shade of red. she coughs out a small 'sorry' that's completely inaudible to the upset driver behind her.

with clammy hands, she clenches the steering wheel and begins driving toward their destination again.

joohyun’s stopped talking but she’s redder than the stop sign ahead of them and seungwan doubts she’s faring any better.

seungwan refocuses her attention on driving and wills away all and any thoughts of a joohyun. but her mind is stupid and it’s working too fast and her filter is gone and the words tumble out of before she even understands what she’s saying and—

“i think i like you tied up as well.”

“WHAT?!”
