Objectively she knew it was real and that this moment was inevitable, but now standing in front of the largest mirror in the apartment, halfway through getting dressed she was surprised. Now that there is physical proof and not just a piece of paper or a plus sign on a stick, but actual changes to her body that showed what she had been working toward for about a year. Her restless mind bringing back her insecurities with a vengeance, asking herself if she was really ready for this and a million hypothetical scenarios proving that this wasn’t a good choice.

She didn’t register another presence in the room until a voice called out to her from the doorway.

“Hey, what are you doing standing there in front of a mirror without dancing or singing or being happy in general?” Buyli asked lightly with her head tilted to the side and looking a lot like her a confused puppy. “Is something wrong?”

At this Yong started tearing up, all the emotions exploding in that moment at the show of concern from the younger woman. In a second Byuli was standing on front of her looking for anything amiss with the crying woman. When she didn’t find anything, she took her in her arms, a hand drawing circles in her back while the other was wiping the tears away with her thumb.

“Oh no, are you okay? Please talk to me” Hearing the concern in her voice Yong nodded trying to tell her there was nothing physical wrong with her, a little guilty for making her worry.

“My favorite jeans don’t fit me like before” She was a bit calmer now but still Byuli thought her reaction was a bit overboard even for Yongsun. “I know you are very proud of your abs and with all reason but is that really what made you cry that hard? They will come back; they will just take a rest for a little while and you’ll be back to those jeans and too revealing crop tops in no time.” She tried to lighten the mood “You know you can tell me anything right? Even if it’s about this uncharted territory for the both of us”

“It just that,I-- I don’t know why but that was the moment, seeing my baby bump -when there wasn’t one before- made it real, you know? There REALLY is a baby growing inside of me”

Byul nodded and smiled hearing that she started showing, she glanced down looking for the baby bump. Someone else unfamiliar with Yong’s usual look might miss it at how small it still was, but there it was, a slight swell on her lower belly. She wanted to touch her belly like she had many times before but she stopped halfway through the motion and looked at Yong, silently asking for permission. She received a watery smile and rolled eyes, then Yong guided their joined hands to the bump in question.

“What was that? You’ve never hesitated, so why start now?” She said with fake annoyance at the younger woman still with a smile on her face.
