Lee Sooman called an emergency meeting with all of his children. They are seated in a huge round table inside his spacious and overlooking conference room. All 8 of his children focused their attention on their old man who was deep in his own thoughts, creasing his forehead.

"Uh, appa? Are you okay? What is this emergency meeting all about?" His eldest asked out of concern

"Yeah, what's this about? I had to cancel my spa appointment which I have already booked weeks ago!" His youngest daughter complained

"Hana-ah, be quiet. This is an important family matter." Lee Sooman's second eldest daughter warned and glared at the youngest who in return, rolled her eyes

"Children. I know you're all surprised by this sudden meeting but it has come to my attention that a new chaebol group has entered the industry and is currently leading, kicking the YG group off the ranks"

"Eh??!" All of his children exclaimed in unison, it was a shock to everyone. YG group has always been on the ranks alongside SM and JYP group from the start, so it was quiet surprising for them to be overtaken by a newcomer

"Yes, I just came from a teleconference with Park Jinyoung of JYP group. It seemed like the cause of YG group's downfall are his own children. Nevertheless, it may be saddening but we have to ultimately cut ties with them" Lee Sooman carefully chose his words knowing that his children and grandchildren have strong ties with the YG group

"B-but what about my son? Will Kai have to end his relationship with Jennie? They were going so well" Lee Sooman's sixth child, Jun, stood up from his chair while placing both of his palms on the table as a form of protest

"Not necessarily.." Lee Sooman's voice trailed off

"Then what?"

"They can still continue their relationship if they really have feelings for each other but they have to stay away from the media" Lee Sooman pursed his lips and clasped his hands together to show a finality of his decision

"Are you suggesting a-a media play? Announce to everyone that we're calling their engagement off?"

"Yes, exactly. With the current situation, it will be difficult for SM group to rise if we.. if we are still tied with the YG group.." It pains Lee Sooman to say those words but he knew it was the best for his family and for the entire SM group. He can see from his peripheral view that Jun was dumbfounded and clearly against his decisions but he continued

"Please focus your attention on the screen, this is a quick profile of the new chaebol group, BH group" All of his children quickly turned their attention to the screen, taking in all necessary information about the newcomer such as net worth, properties, businesses, and most importantly, the entire family tree of the BH group

"The reason as to why I will still allow Kai to continue his relationship with Jennie is because all of BH group's grandchildren are boys" Lee Sooman explained then turned his gaze to three of his children who all have daughters 

"Pass, my daughters are a little bit old for them" Ara, third eldest, declined

"Me too! Well I mean, all of my daughters are now living overseas so... pass" his 5th eldest, Gyu, immediately turned down the idea and looks at Hana in earnest who was already frozen on her spot

"Appa! No.. No! You promised my babies won't have to go through this, please appa they are still so young" Hana pleaded, she can't let this happen

"But your eldest, Irene, is already of age. This is the only and best way to build ties with the BH group" Lee Sooman explained, Hana shook her head and scanned the room to look for support from her siblings but they all avoided her eyes

"But appa, Irene does not want to get married. She made this very clear when she graduated high school, you know that, we all know that. She just wants to live normally and and... you agreed.." Hana defended and clenched her fist under the table

"Yes but that was before all of this happened. We need to strengthen our rank in the industry before the JYP group will! Irene must go, I already set an appointment for her to meet one of BH group's grandson. My word is final." Lee Sooman stood up and gave each of his children one stern look before leaving the conference room

"H-how could he do..." Hana's voice cracked and tears were already streaming down from her face

"Hana noona.." Jae, the youngest son, tried to console his older sister by holding her hand

"Hana-ah. We, your older siblings, have gone through this but believe us, it's for the best.. It's painful but this is for the entire family." Sua stood from her seat and gave her sister an understanding look

"Why.. why must we live like this.. I can't let my daughters live a crappy life like mine!" Hana exclaimed while harshly wiping her tears away

"Hana! That's enough! We will all pretend not to hear that. That is just disrespectful to our father. Get your act together and Sua's right, we've been through this and the rest of you will go through this." Hyuk warned while trying to remain calm

"Pathetic. Fine. I'm sorry for being the rational and humane one in this family, brothers and sisters" Hana stood up and glared at Hyuk before walking out from the conference room, leaving her siblings in an awkward silence

"Well, that was a disaster. If you'll excuse me, I have to inform my son that his engagement will be called off due to uhm, unfortunate events" Jun straightened his coat before exiting the room, he was also clearly not happy with their father's decision

"Hyuk, your words were a little harsh. You know how Hana is" Ara spoke up while looking at Hyuk, clearly worried about her siblings

"It must be said. I'll be the other bad guy in this picture but you know that this is how it's supposed to be, Ara." Hyuk sighed while Ara remained silent in her spot
