We are standing in front of a dim place, looking like a deeper side of the sea where we cannot see anything- feeling frightened the more we look at it. The tree on that side of the forest are all dead, as if they can turn into ashes in any second- except that they never did, not until we touch it.

“What is this place again?” I ask as I stare at the dead trees, it look even more scary here.

“The Dead Forest”

“Whats in there?”

“Nothing” he shrugged his shoulder “-literally”

“You’re saying there is something inside there, don’t you?”

“You know I can always kill them, don’t you?”

“I’m being serious here, Baekhyun” I said while turning to him. My eyes trembled reminiscing those scary moments I had with him. “I don’t think I can do it this time”

His eyes soften as he look down to me, “I’m being serious about being able to kill them too. I’ve been in the forest for so long, I have face them all”

“What if.. just a what if.. we-”

“There is no what if. We only know when we go through it” He said and I am lost in words. I still don’t know how I manage to come this far, through all those scary things inside this world.

“Okay but please know that I am super scared of ..that. I don’t like dark places in the first place..” I said, as we both look at The Dead Forest in front of us. It look so.. dead. As if anything inside there are going to take my life away too.

We take our first step into The Dead Forest and we stand there for a moment. Baekhyun reached for my hand and I flinched for a bit. I just knew then, that he can sense there is danger awaiting for both of us. He starting to move, pulling me close with him, as if there will be something jumping toward us at any second.

“Should I tell you a funny story?”

“..uhm” I said, tighten my hands around his. All I do is watching after his steps and follow him closely from behind. The air around the space gets colder as time passed by. If I could turn back, I would- but I cant.

“There was a boy..” He started, “He live in a spacious house where only he and his mother lived in. His mother.. his mother is a murderer” He said and I frowned. What is he thinking by telling me this story?

 “She even killed his husband and that boy was the only one left in that house.”

I stopped on my track, “How is that a funny story?”

“Just listen” He said as he pull me forward and we continue walking forward through the black and white route. “One day, the boy decide to run.. he run and run letting his pair of feet guide him to anywhere he could escape. Anywhere.. anywhere but there…-”

“-- he then reached the forest, where he live there all his life. By himself with the creatures and the forest as his family.. and friend”

For some reason, this place make me feel a bit too depressed and his story make it even sadder.

“Baekhyun?”

“Yes?”

“Its this place is it?” I said, “The one who make you told this sad story” I frowned as it slowly get painful in the inside, as if I just get through a major heartbreak. Making me wanting to cry and scream out of desperation.

“Whatever you’re feeling, don’t give in” He said. “Don’t let the feeling take over you”

I take a deep breath, “How..” I gasped as I fall on my knee. Baekhyun pull me up and hold onto my shoulders, as if trying to make me come to my senses. “Just-- don’t give in” He said as he trying his best himself.

”Imagine the beautiful things” I follow his words and close my eyes but I.. I can only see him in my head.

“Okay” I whisper and the pain lessened, but there. There’s a sudden sound nearer and I could feel him flinching.

”What was that?” I ask, still closing my eyes.

”Can you stay here for awhile?” he said, almost whispering. My breath stopped there as I feel him letting me go, but I quickly used both of my hands to hold onto him, “What do you mean? Where are you going?”

“Stay here and do not.. open your eyes” He said as he slowly let go of my hands. I take my breath, too scared to even move when he leave. I am not sure whats happening, but his footstep can be heard.

He is walking away from me.

For a second my mind is deceiving me, that he would leave me forever and at times I wonder if this place is taking over his mind.

I want to open my eyes so bad.

“Baekhyun..?” I said, my voice echoed. As if I am the only living inside of this black and white space. Its gets colder and I trembled.

“Answer me” I said as I hug myself.

“Please..”

“I’m here” He said, but his voice is nowhere near me.

“Can you come back here?”

“I’m afraid I might not.. able to” He said and I sigh. That’s the last thing I want to hear from him. “Why? What happen?”

“No.. nothing”

“I’m going to open my eyes if you don’t answer to--”

“There’s something here” He said in a second. “Stay put and never open your eyes.. it wont be able to attack you that way”

“How about you?”

“I can handle it”

“You- are you sure ?

I hear a swish sound then and
