Wendy never thought that she would end up spending her saturday at the school field, sitting on the bleachers, doing nothing at all. She’s wearing her specs because she’s tired wearing her contacts, an empty box of cookies beside her.

“Mahihirapan akong bigyan siya ng cold treatment kung ganito siya sa’kin.”

And speaking of the girl she’s talking about, Irene spotted her standing in front of the entrance with a grin on her face.

Tumakbo si Irene papunta sa bleachers, nakita niyang nakasandal lang si Wendy sa likod ng bleacher habang nakapamulsa.

“Nagustuhan mo yung cookies noh?” Umupo si Irene sa tabi ni Wendy na umusog ng konti.

Hinatak palapit ni Irene si Wendy sa kanya at nilingon siya ni Wendy.

Hinilig ni Irene ang ulo niya sa balikat ni Wendy. “Nagtatampo ka ba kasi hindi kita agad narecognize?”

Sa loob-loob ni Wendy ay nagulat siya, well she thought na hindi siya makikilala ni Irene dahil sobrang tagal na nung huling pagkikita nila. She mask her shock with poker face.

Inangat ni Irene ang ulo niya ng wala siyang narinig kay Wendy.

“Hoy! Akala mo siya nakilala din ako, sobrang tagal na nung nagkilala tayo and the only thing i can remember about you is you’re very chubby and cute dati.” Irene giggles remembering little Wendy.

“Cute parin ako diba?” Suddenly Wendy’s aura went soft. Irene suddenly froze when Wendy said it, she didn’t see that coming.

“O-Oo naman para lang dati pero ang daming nagbago, like, you’re not chubby anymore.”

Irene quickly looked away when she feel her cheeks heating. Sobrang madalang lang magpacute ni Wendy simula pa nung bata sila. And she rarely see Wendy act like that.

“So bakit ka cold sa akin?”

Wendy turned her head at Irene who is waiting for her answer but she can’t open to tell the reason. She know that she’s confusing Irene but she don’t want Irene to know the answer, she’s coward to say it.

Irene became more beautiful, that’s what all can Wendy think right now staring at the woman’s face. The little girl she met before who makes her day happy whenever she go outside, the girl she always talk about with her Kuya and the girl who never fail to make her happy until now.

Pero bakit kailangan iba ang trato niya kay Irene, why she’s trying hard to make Irene hate her giving the treatment the woman don’t deserve. Her eyes fall onto the small hands of the woman, she wants to hold it for a second.

“It’s none of your business.” She said, instead.
