A picture perfect life is what Jinah had as Nova. Her family had followed her father to Malaysia when he was assigned to the embassy there.She and her twin brother, Jinsoo, enjoyed their lives in a big house and an amazing school. All that came to an immediate hault when a gas cylinder exploded. There was no saving of her parents whose room was close to the kitchen. Thinking that there was only one kid at home, the fire rescuers helped save Jinsoo. By the time they were made aware of Jinah, who had gone unconcious from the noise, Jinsoo had passed away. In a wild mixup of things, Jinah was marked as the deceased person instead of Jinsoo, and then deported to her homeland. Unable to fend for herself she reached out to her aunt.Together they worked to fix this error but were unsuccessful.

Her aunt supported her music career and used her insider status to get Jinah an audition. When Jinah was 19, she became a trainee but in the male system. With her aunt and grandparents being the only ones who knew about her real identity, she entered the company with confidence, a new present and a hidden past.
