(A/N: Just a friendly reminder that Hae’s drunk throughout most of the story, I’m not trying to make his character sound stupid. Drunk Hae’s just a social butterfly.)

Of Nightclubs and Online Gamers.

Donghae had to admit that he had been a teensy weensy bit upset (read: completely seething) when he had gone to Heechul for help.

He really should’ve known better.

But it wasn’t his fault though.

His stupid and insanely handsome boyfriend, Hyukjae was to be blamed for all of this.

It had all started when Hyukjae and his best friend since birth Junsu (although Donghae would like to disagree about the title) had joined an online game club.

Donghae still being in his senior year of highschool had thought it was adorable when his boyfriend had come to pick him up after school, gushing about being accepted to an exclusive society and exclaiming how they’ve finally found the excitement in their college life in his sophomore year. Of course, Hyukjae being the sweet boyfriend he was, always had time for Donghae while he was busy at college.

Everything started to go south when Junsu, Hyuk’s best friend, got a platinum membership at the so called exclusive game club a few weeks ago which lead him to a gaming frenzy. To be honest, Donghae could care less about what Junsu did in his spare time but what he did care about was that Junsu would drag his boyfriend along with him every time.

And Donghae did not like that one bit.

After surviving a painful week of resisting the urge to snap at Hyukjae and demand him to cut off all contacts with his so called best friend, Donghae finally decided that enough was enough. So he made plans to meet up with his boyfriend today and tell him about it, and maybe even throw in a tiny tantrum just for an extra effect.

And where was Hyukjae on this fateful day?

He had canceled their plans last minute because Junsu decided to drag him to the stupid gaming club yet again.

Donghae had thrown an angry fit (alone, in his room, all by himself) because his boyfriend didn’t even have the common decency to give him a call, but just said that he couldn’t come over a text.

He was about to call Hyukjae himself and give him a piece of his mind when his brother, Donghwa (who was in the other room and had apparently heard Donghae scream insults at his boyfriend) yelled for him to keep it down, and that it was a miracle that Hyukjae put up with Donghae and his overdramatic self for so long. That comment had shut up Donghae completely.

He had sulked for another solid half an hour then proceeded to call his friends and ask for advice.

Kibum had just hung up on him.

Ryeowook had been unable to come up with plausible solution, but had graciously offered to give him a chocolate cupcake as compensation. (Which Donghae readily accepted. Not need to let the chocolate go to waste.)

As for Kyuhyun, the self proclaimed god among online gamers, well he had given Donghae an answer that left him so sour and disgruntled that he decided to pull out the big guns.

An the so called ‘big guns’ came in the form of the universal super star, almighty Kim Heechul. Donghae finally decided to put the privilege of being Heechul’s favorite dongseng into good use.

Except he really didn’t expect to end up in front of a nightclub, wearing the tightest pair of leather pants that he had ever seen in his entire life, (which completely cut off the circulation in the lower part of his body but apparently made his look great) and a white T-shirt, with his long brunette locks meticulously arranged to resemble so sort of fashion statement.

Maybe he should’ve just gone to Leeteuk hyung instead.

‘Sapphire Blue Ocean’, 1 hour later

Donghae eyed the shining disco ball on the ceiling greedily.

The disco ball stood center stage in the dance floor, causing the room to colorfully light up. It was just so bright and beautiful, just like his Hyukkie. Maybe he should give it to his boyfriend as a present. Yes, Hyukkie would love to have the shiny disco ball.

Donghae stepped towards the dance floor that was filled up with people having fun as the music loudly blasted from the stereo system. He halted in his steps.

Didn’t his mother say that he should never take anything without permission?

He looked around the club, hoping to find Heechul. The older would definitely let him have the disco ball, Heechul adores him, Donghae thought giggling gleefully. But unfortunately for him, Heechul was no where to be seen.

Staring back at his disco ball, Donghae pouted wistfully.

The pretty object on the ceiling was just calling his name. Begging to be taken back into his arms so he could give it to Hyukjae on his birthday.

Donghae was nothing if not stubborn. But who could possibly give him his disco ball? Donghae’s eyes lit up as an idea sprang into his mind.He glanced about again, this time with the purpose of finding the club’s owner. Of course, the it was the owner who was responsible for his pretty ball. Silly Donghae!

But how to find the owner though? There were so many people in this nightclub.

Diligently scanning through every face in the room, Donghae’s eyes stopped on one particular person. Donghae’s smiled victoriously as he glanced at the man in the suit.

He was siting away from all the other men, a glass of alcohol in hand, looking very diplomatic and proper. Donghae walked over to the man in the suit cheerfully.

“Excuse me Mister, are you the owner of this nightclub?” Donghae asked politely, giving the man his best puppy dog eyes, hoping to start bargaining for his disco ball.

However he was very disappointed at the man’s reply.

“No I’m not.” The man in the suit answered, slightly startled at the question.

“Oh.” Donghae frowned in despair as he looked down at his feet.

Maybe he should just steal the disco ball instead. It would look way better in Hyukjae’s bedroom than in this stupid nightclub full of disappointing people.

“But hey, maybe you could ask the security?” The man said suddenly, gesturing at the man standing in the corner of the room stoically.

Donghae glanced at the man in the suit as though he was the savior of humankind as he thanked the man profusely, his eyes lighting up as he glanced at the security guard with a hopeful look.

“Thank you mister man in the suit.” Donghae grinned widely as he bowed at the other.

The man in the suit was handsome, Donghae noticed. But not as handsome as his Hyukkie. His boyfriend was the handsomest, bestest, perfect... perfectest?  human being in the entire world!

“You’re cute kid! Call me Siwon.” The man laughed looking at the younger with curiosity. “What do you need the owner for anyway?”

Donghae beamed. His Hyukkie called him cute too!

“It’s for a surprise for my boyfriend.” Donghae whispered loudly, raising a finger above his lips to indicate that Siwon shouldn’t tell anyone about it.

“Alright then, good luck.” The man in the suit laughed.

Donghae waved happily as he sauntered off to  where the security guard was standing. He approached the intimidating man with a slight caution.

“Excuse me sir, can I have the shiny disco ball?” Donghae asked with hopeful eyes, pointing at the glimmering object in the ceiling.

“How drunk are you drunk, kid?” The guard scoffed, looking unamused.

“I’m not!” Donghae protested shaking his head, offended that the man dared to make such an accusation.

Ok, maybe he was a bit tipsy.

And maybe he did drink quite a lot considering that he had such a low tolerance for alcohol.

So what? He turned eighteen two months back so it wasn’t like he was breaking the law.  He had a perfectly good reason for drowning his sorrows in alcohol.

Donghae pouted at the man’s harsh words, staring at him defiantly. The man was larger and stockier than him, with a buzz cut and rather threatening eyes, and Donghae couldn’t help but think that if his Hyukkie had been here, his boyfriend definitely would have scolded the man for being so rude to him.

“Go home kid.” The security guard said gruffly, not showing even a shred of sympathy towards the pouting boy before him.

“But... but...I want my disco ball.” Donghae wailed, flailing his arms about.

This just wasn’t fair!

All he wanted was his disco ball! Was that really too much to ask for? Donghae wanted to see his boyfriend’s beautiful gummy smile, when he presents him with the shiny object.

He stopped suddenly, looking at the security guard triumphantly, running a hand through his tousled hair.

“How about this? I’ll give you a strawberry milk, in exchange for it.” Donghae gave the man his winning smile.

“For the last time child, you’re not getting the disco ball. Buzz off and leave me alone will you?” The man said sighing.

Tears filled Donghae’s eyes immediately as he glanced at the man with a grieved expression. His cheeky smile seems to drop off his face completely, his mood taking a complete turn.

“But why not? Hyukkie always lets me do anything I want to do if I give him strawberry milk.” Donghae asked weakly looking betrayed, stomping his foot softly. “Why do you have to be so mean? I wasn’t going to keep the disco ball, I was going to give it to Hyukkie as a present. I was just trying to be a nice boyfriend.”

The guard fidgeted uneasily as Donghae stood there with teary eyes, looking like a puppy that had been mercilessly left in the rain and kicked a few times for a good measure.

“Look kid, just find a normal present for your boyfriend.” The man said looking uncomfortably at the miserable boy before him.

“You don’t give normal presents to a person you love, Mister security guard!” Donghae protested looking at the man with wide eyes, slightly horrified at the suggestion. “You give them grand presents to show them how much you love them! Like a shiny disco ball! Don’t you have anyone you love?”

The security guard was silent for a moment, numerous contrasting emotions passing through his face. Donghae watched patiently, until the man finally replied to him, gritting his teeth in annoyance.

“Not everyone has a great romantic love story like yours kid. Sometimes the person you love doesn’t love you back.”

Donghae gasped.

That was terrible!

What would Donghae do if his Hyukjae didn’t love him back? He would probably die of heartbreak.

He felt so sorry for the poor poor man in front of him.

“You love someone but that person doesn’t like you back?!” He asked, feeling genuinely sad for the man. “Did you try confessing?”

Kangin wasn’t sure why he was actually answering the boy’s questions. It was clear that this kid was drunk but at the same time there was something so sincere about him that made Kangin want to tell him the truth.

“No of course I didn’t.” Kangin answered, looking away. “He and I are worlds apart. We’ll never be able to end up together.”

“But why not?” Donghae asked with teary eyes.

He felt dreadful, for the poor security guard. How hard must it be to keep your feelings hidden away from the one you love the most.

“He’s way out of my league.” Kangin said gruffly, his voice betraying a hint of pain.

“You shouldn’t let that stop you, Mister security guard!” Donghae said defiantly shaking his head. “Hyukjae was way out of my league too, but we got together in the end!”

“Kid, not everyone gets a chance at that cliche love story.” Kangin sighed tiredly.

“It wasn’t like that mister guard! I was only ten when I met Hyukjae at my dance club. I was heads over heels in love with him as soon as I saw him, but he didn’t even give me a second glance. He was two years older than me and the best dancer in the entire group.”

“So I tried to do everything I could to gain his attention. I left him cute encouraging notes, bought him strawberry milk, I stayed in the studio till he finished his practices, tried really hard to ace the dances that he choreographed. I did everything I could think of to make him fall for me, but he only saw me as a little kid.”

“What was even worse was that all of Hyukjae’s friends knew about my crush on him. They used to make fun of me when Hyukkie wasn’t there. I spent years in a never ending friendzone. I was so miserable because he was so much better than me and there was no way he would never fall for plain old awkward me, but at the same time I couldn’t help but wish for something to magically happen between us.”

“So how did you end up dating each other?” Kangin asked curiously.

As much as he would like to deny it, the boy’s situation sounded so similar to his own.

“Well after Hyukjae graduated from his senior year at high school, he decided to drop out of the dance club. I was terrified that I’d never meet him again, so I just rushed after him on his last day at the studio and blurted out that I loved him. I thought I’d be rejected because he could literally have anyone he wanted but he hugged me and told me that he loved me too!”

“Hyukkie said that he really liked me from the start, but since I was younger than him, he wanted to wait for me. He asked me out on a date that day and we’ve been together ever since!”

Donghae wait! Don’t run away!”

He felt someone grab his hand, stopping him from fleeing the situation all together. Donghae looked down at his feet, not wanting to see the disgusted emotions in Hyukjae’s face.

“Hae...”

Hyukjae gently lifted his chin, looking into the younger’s eyes lovingly. Donghae’s breath hitched at the intensity of the other’s gaze.

“Did you mean what you said?” Hyukjae asked softly, smiling at the blushing face of the other.

Donghae nodded, embarrassed at his sudden confession. He didn’t want it to go like this.

“I’m sorry.” He apologized, tears filling up his eyes thinking about how pathetic he was. “I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable. Forget I ever said anything.”

“Oh Hae...” Hyukjae sighed fondly before pulling Donghae closer and wrapping his arms around him. “I’m in love with you too.”

Donghae’s head snapped upwards as he stared at the older in utter disbelief.

“It’s just that you’re younger than me, so I thought I should wait until you’re  older to ask you out.” Hyukjae explained gently, cupping his cheeks. “I didn’t want to force you into something you weren’t sure about.”

“I’m sixteen. I’m not a child anymore and I know that I love you. It’s not just some crush.” Donghae said stubbornly pouting.

Hyukjae showed his gummy smile at the statement, before hugging Donghae tightly.

The younger felt as though he was dreaming, of this was a dream, he never wanted to wake up from it. Hyukjae liked him back!

“In that case Donghae, would you like to go on a date with me?” Hyukjae asked, this voice dropping a tone lower as he stared at the other lovingly.

“So you should confess to the person you love mister security guard.” Donghae said, trying to sound convincing. “You never know, they might have feelings for you too.”

“Maybe I will.” Kangin smiled for the first time that evening.

The guard looked at the dreamy expression of the boy, who seemed to be lost in a deep thought.

“Who did you come here with, kid?” Kangin asked quite seriously.

“I came with Chullie hyung. He left me at the bar saying that he had to mingle with some people.” Donghae answered offhandedly.

“Why don’t you go find him now?” Kangin suggested. “Maybe he can take you home. You look tired.”

Yes. Donghae suppose he must’ve looked tired, he had had a long day. Donghae’s said his goodbyes to the nice and much friendlier security guard before setting off to find Heechul.

He wandered around the bar looking like a stray kitten.

Donghae came to a stop in front of an peculiar object that caught his eye.

There was a small stage, with a long metal pole that sprang up from the stage into the ceiling. It was so silver and shiny that Donghae stopped to inspect it for a second.

If he pushed the pole, would it collapse?

Donghae felt giddy as he sneakily brought up a finger to poke the metal pole.

But nothing happened.

He gave it another push.

“Hey what are you doing?!”

Donghae whirled around panicking, coming face to face with a girl wearing a golden dress. He blushed, embarrassed at being caught.

“I’m sorry. Is this yours? I just wanted to see if it would fall over.” Donghae admitted guiltily, bowing his head in shame.

Hyukkie would have been disappointed in him.

“It’s not mine. Of course it’s not going to fall over it’s attached to the ceiling.” The girl scowled pointing upwards.

The girl in the golden dress looked rather fierce, her dark hair almost forming a halo around her face.

“What is it then?” Donghae asked eying the metal pole confused.

“It’s for pole dancing.” The girl deadpanned, looking at Donghae his eyes full of distrust.

“You use it for dancing?” Donghae asked, his eyes lighting up suddenly. “Maybe you can teach me how to dance on it? I can learn a new dance and show it to Hyukkie later.”

Hyoyeon looked at the boy with puppy like eyes, trying to figure out what his hidden agenda was. In all the years she had worked at this nightclub, she was yet to meet a character so innocent that he didn’t know what the pole was used for.

“Who’s Hyukkie?” Hyoyeon asked instead.

“He’s my boyfriend.” Donghae answered smiling happily.

“In that case, I would imagine he would enjoy you pole dancing very much.” Hyoyeon replied slyly, feeling slightly bewildered as the innuendo went right over the boy’s head.

“Yeah he will. He’s the best dancer I know.” Donghae said sincerely, love dripping off his words. “He’s the dance captain of his college’s dance team even though he’s still a sophomore.”

“And where is this great boyfriend of yours now?” Hyoyeon asked raising a brow.

Donghae’s cheerful mood deflated instantly as he remembered the events that took place that evening. Hyoyeon felt her heart strings tug as the boy looked at her with a pitiful kicked puppy expression.

“He went to an online gaming club even though he had plans with me today.” Donghae mumbled his answer.

“Sounds like an .” Hyoyeon retorted, feeling sympathy for the sad boy before her.

“It’s not like that... It’s just...” Donghae denied instantly.

“Don’t try to defend him, if he’s the one doing the wrong thing.” Hyoyeon said sternly, feeling rather protective over the stranger she just met.

Something about him, made the boy seem so vulnerable. Hyoyeon wanted to punch the arrogant boyfriend for upsetting such a innocent soul.

“I’m not defending him. It’s just that it’s not Hyukjae’s fault at all.” Donghae sighed, his face contorting with pain. “It’s just Junsu hyung. He’s been Hyukjae’s best friend since forever, and he’s the one who got the membership for that stupid online game club and he’s been dragging Hyukkie there for the last couple of weeks.”

“So this Junsu person keeps taking your boyfriend away from you?” Hyoyeon asked crossing her arms.

Donghae nodded defeatedly.

He was feeling very sad.

“Hyukjae’s the sweetest boyfriend ever and I really love him. It’s just that sometimes I feel I’m not enough for him.” Donghae said through teary eyes.

“Did Hyukjae tell you that?” The girl in the golden dress asked, sitting on the stage, gesturing Donghae to sit next to her.

Donghae sat down, shaking his head in denial.

His beautiful Hyukkie would never do something like that.

“Then Junsu?”

“Yeah. He’s always going on about how I’m just a delusional kid and saying that he’s waiting for Hyukjae to come back to his senses and dump me.”

It hurt.

“Does Hyukjae know that his best friend’s being a jerk to you?” Hyoyeon asked, gently patting Donghae on the back.

Donghae scrunched his eyes shut, as if to block the pain, then gave a  timid shake of his head.

Hyukjae lead Donghae into his room, their hands intertwined to together, matching grins lighting up both of their faces. The younger’s smile faded when he realized that Junsu was in the room as well.

There were two computers with gaming consoles set up in the room.

Why the hell are we doing this here?!” Junsu scowled at them, making Donghae shrink back slightly.

“Because Donghae isn’t old enough to go to the game club and I want to spend some quality time with my boyfriend.” Hyukjae laughed, logging into the computer.

Junsu glared at Donghae with a hostile expression behind his boyfriend’s back making him gulp nervously. The older had made it clear that he loathed Donghae from the moment Hyukjae had started dating him.

The brunette edged towards his boyfriend slightly.

Alright we’re logged in.” Hyukjae announced cheerfully, taking a seat on the comfortable wheeling chair.

“There’s only two chairs, Hyuk.” Junsu scowled, immediately taking another other seat, glaring at the brunette. “Maybe that’s because the kid isn’t supposed to be here. Three’s the crowd.”

Donghae was about to suggest that maybe he could leave and comeback later when Hyukjae laughed at the other’s words, and playfully nudged Junsu.

“Stop being an , Su.” Hyukjae growled playfully his voice lacking the malice.

His boyfriend turned towards him, smiling fondly, patting his lap. Donghae blushed as he complied.

It was comfortable, sitting on Hyukjae’s lap, the older’s arms wrapped around his waist, his back fitting snuggly against the other’s chest. Donghae was broken out of his happy reverie when Hyukjae placed the headphones over his ears, handing him the games console.

The younger looked at him surprised.

“Shall I teach you how to play?” Hyukjae asked, his beautiful gummy smile etched across his face.

Donghae nodded almost bashfully, forgetting all his worries as his brain turned to mush as it always did when Hyukjae looked at him so lovingly.

Almost an hour went by, both Hyukjae and Donghae roaring with laughter as the younger clumsily shot at the enemies, getting distracted so easily by the background scenery that their avatar died so many  stupid deaths.

“That was so fun.” Donghae giggled as the game finally ended, putting the console on the table.

Junsu took that moment to look over his shoulder and spoil the brunette’s mood completely.

“Now look at what you’ve done! You’ve destroyed almost all of Hyuk’s vitality points and finished half of his artillery. Weeks of hard work wasted!” Junsu snarled menacingly. “If I were you Hyuk, I’d break up with the boy already!”

Donghae froze, gaping at Junsu.

“Stop picking on my boyfriend, you jerk!” Hyukjae growled playfully, flipping off his best friend. “Go find yourself a girlfriend, you’re getting grumpier by the day!”

The brunette’s heart sank. If this was anyone other than Junsu, Donghae knew that Hyukjae’s fist would’ve punched that person in the face by now. To be honest, if this was anyone else, Donghae would’ve thrown a hysterical screaming fit and demanded an apology.

But this was Junsu, his boyfriend’s best friend since... well forever and Hyukjae loved his friend too much to ever become aggressive towards him. And Donghae cared about Hyukjae’s feelings too much to ever speak up against Junsu.

“I’m sorry.” Donghae whispered.

Don’t worry about it Hae.” His boyfriend immediately reassured him. “I had fun. We should do this together more often baby.”

Hyukjae seemed to sense the shift in Donghae’s mood, the older curling his fingers around the brunette’s thigh possessively, bringing him closer to him.

Can I get a kiss?”

Hyukjae asked tilting his chin upwards, towards the face of the boy who was sitting on his lap, puckering his lips ridiculously making Donghae burst into a fit of giggles before leaning down, and pressing a firm kiss the the plump lips.

“Then why don’t you tell your boyfriend that Junsu’s making you upset?” The girl questioned, her fists clenching in anger for the poor boy.

“Because...” Donghae started with a small voice. “Junsu... he’s Hyukkie’s best friend. I don’t want to come in between them...And I don’t want to make Hyukkie choose between us.”

Mostly because he didn’t want to know the answer. In his heart, Donghae knew that he wouldn’t stand a chance against Junsu.

“I’m scared that I’ll lose Hyukkie.” Donghae sniffled, rubbing his eyes.

Hyoyeon felt quite lost. Her heart was aching for the innocent brunette before her. There wasn’t much she could do to help him, but she thought she should at least try to cheer the boy up for the time being.

“Come on.” Hyoyeon said standing up. “I’ll teach you how to dance.”

She gestured at the pole, inwardly cheering victoriously as she managed to get a small smile from the boy.

The pair spent the time pole dancing, Donghae diligently trying to follow the girl’s graceful movements. He surprisingly wasn’t too bad at it, maybe all the reflexes he had from soccer camp kicking in.

“That’s pretty good for a beginner.” Hyoyeon complimented once they’ve stopped for the day.

Donghae beamed at the compliment.

“Look I have to go now. Maybe I’ll meet you again one day.” Hyoyeon said sadly, ruffling the brunette’s hair. “Make sure to show your boyfriend your new dance steps.”

The younger nodded happily.

“Actually make sure to wear those pair of pants when you do it.” The girl in the golden dress added.

Donghae looked down at the torturous leather item of clothing, wondering what was so flattering about it.

“Okay.” Donghae replied, unsure of why the tight leather pants would make such an impact.

“Trust me when I say it’ll make him loose his mind.” Hyoyeon winked, before saying her goodbyes.

The brunette wandered around the crowded nightclub looking like a lost lamb for the second time that night.

In the end, he seated himself in the bar, looking at the dazzling array of alcohol on display. Donghae stared at the liquid that the woman next to him ordered.

It was a beautiful sapphire blue liquid with sparkling bubbles.

And it was the exact same colour as Hyukjae’s hair.

He must have been staring at it for a long time because the woman next to him have him a stinky side eye and left the bar altogether, taking the Hyukkie-coloured drink with her.

Donghae pouted miserably before looking down at his hands.

“Why do you look so sad?”

Donghae turned to see a boy, with caramel coloured hair looking at him with concern. Frankly speaking, the boy looked been younger than Donghae, his chubby cheeks somehow making him resemble a squirrel.

“It’s nothing.” Donghae replied softly.

The boy sat down next to the brunette, gazing at him questioningly.

“Maybe you’ll feel better if you talk about it.” Caramel Mochi cheeks suggested.

“I was just wondering whether I should dye my hair.” Donghae sighed, as if the decision was weighing him down.

“But why?” The other boy asked. “Don’t you like your hair?”

Donghae’s eyes turned teary as he ran his fingers through his hair self consciously.

“It’s just that if I made it more interesting, and dye it in another colour... maybe my boyfriend would pay more attention to me.” The brunette answered timidly, turning his head away.

“You shouldn’t change yourself to impress a your boyfriend!” The caramel haired boy retorted indignantly. “He should love you for who you are.”

Donghae smiled at the nice stranger who made him feel better about himself.

“But I’m going to Hyukjae’s college next year. His friends are just so cool and suave. I don’t want to be an embarrassment to him.” The brunette pouted.

“You’re already really handsome!” Mochi cheeks said enthusiastically. “And if you think dying your hair would make you feel more confident, you should do it! But remember to do it for yourself, and not to please others. You’ll make a great blonde,by the way.”

The brunette laughed at the other boy’s animated way of speaking, feeling grateful to the pep talk.

“What colour is your boyfriend’s hair?” The caramel haired boy asked curiously.

“It’s sapphire blue. Like that pretty, sparkly drink over there.” Donghae answered pointing at the drink the bartender was making.

“Oh that’s the signature drink at this nightclub!” The nice stranger exclaimed excitedly. “This club’s called Sapphire Blue Ocean after all. Let’s get one each!”

Cute Mochi cheeks started to wave frantically at the bartender, startling Donghae slightly. But to his surprise the man behind the bar, actually walked up to them, looking slightly irritated.

“We want two Sapphire Blue specials on the house please, Zhoumi hyung!” The caramel haired boy said with a cheeky smile on his face.

“Do you even know the meaning of that phrase Henry?” The bartender Zhoumi sighed as though this was a common occurrence. “You can’t order your own free drinks. And who’s this?”

Zhoumi, the tall bartender, gestured at Donghae who smiled at him shyly.

“This is my new best friend!” Henry exclaimed throwing a friendly arm around Donghae’s shoulder. “And we want free drinks to celebrate our newfound friendship!”

“And what’s the name of your so called best friend?” Zhoumi asked dryly, looking at Henry raising his brow.

Henry paused turning towards the brunette questioningly.

“I’m Donghae.” He supplied.

“His name is Donghae.” Henry repeated, the grin never leaving his face. “And he and I would like those drinks now please!”

The caramel haired boy then proceeded to put his face close to Donghae’s, both boys looking at the bartender imploringly. They did look quite similar, both baby faced looking younger than their actual age with cute hopeful little grins. It was an adorable sight to see!

Zhoumi sighed in defeat.

“There’s two of you cheeky devils now.” He mumbled, walking away to make the drinks. “Just this one time.”

Henry punched the air victoriously while Donghae giggled.

“It was good that you were here with me.” Henry grinned. “It usually takes much longer than that to convince him.”

The Mochi cheeked boy turned his head slightly gesturing the dance floor, where people where partying the night away.

“My shift’s about to start soon. Maybe you can stay a bit and enjoy the music.” Henry suggested looking hopeful.

“Your shift?” Donghae asked tilting his head in confusion.

The caramel haired boy pointed at the dance floor, then at himself.

“I’m the nightclub’s DJ!” He said proudly.

“Oh! That’s so cool!” Donghae exclaimed in awe.

The brunette wandered whether he’ll ever be an exciting person like all the people he met today. But Donghae was just plain boring.

That’s why Hyukjae went to that stupid gaming club cancelling his plans with Donghae in the first place.

“I wish I was as cool as you.” Donghae mumbled looking down.

“Don’t look sad!” Henry comforted him. “Can you play an instrument?”

The brunette nodded his head slowly.

“I can play the guitar.” He offered.

“Great then maybe we can start a band together!” The caramel haired boy bursted out excitedly, hyping up Donghae along with him.

Henry gulped down his Sapphire Blue drink in one go as soon as it came, gesturing Donghae to do the same before dragging the brunette to the dance floor, telling him to enjoy himself while Henry went up on stage and took over the music.

Donghae danced until he felt dizzy, he had to admit that Henry had an amazing playlist. He wandered back towards the bar, his mind slightly clouded by all the alcohol.

“Hey beautiful, what’s your name?”

A deep alluring voice snapped Donghae out of his thoughts.

He glanced at the man who stood before him, who looked rather majestic with his leather jacket and black eyeliner. The peculiar man was grinning at the brunette like a Cheshire Cat. It gained his curiosity.

“Donghae.” He answered shyly.

“I’m Hangeng. So Donghae, what’s a beautiful man like you doing all alone in a club?” The man practically purred.

Hangeng’s eyes wandered over Donghae’s form, his eyes resting slightly longer than necessary on the lower half of his body.

The brunette shrugged it off, obliviously thinking that the tight leather pants must have the same flattering effect on everyone.

“Maybe I could accompany you? We can be friends... or something more?” The man’s voice was rich with persuasion.

“I’d love to be your friend!” Donghae beamed.

The funny man finally made some sense.

And of course the brunette loved making new friends!

“But I already have my Hyukkie.” Donghae happily added just to be clear.

“Can I touch your hair?!” The brunette asked excitedly, not waiting for a reply before petting the other’s hair.

Hangeng’s hair was longer than his own and even longer that Heechul’s. The brunette loved how silky soft it was under his fingers, silently wishing that his hair was also like this.

“Your hair’s so soft and fluffy!” Donghae gasped in awe. “Like teddy bears and cotton candy!”

“But not as soft and fluffy as my Hyukkie’s though.” The brunette proclaimed  loyally.

Hangeng smirked his gaze shifting slightly as he raise his hand to Donghae’s face, tilting his chin upwards.

“Sweetie, I can make you forget all about your boyfriend.” The man in the leather jacket whispered alluringly.

Donghae’s brows furrowed in confusion. But he didn’t have much time to ponder on it as he was yanked back by a sudden force, his back colliding with a hard chest.

An arm wrapped itself possessively around his waist.

The brunette saw a familiar mop of sapphire blue hair, as the other stood holding Donghae protectively against himself, glaring at Hangeng menacingly.

“Get your ing hands off my boyfriend!” The newcomer snarled, his eyes blazing.

Hyukjae.

Chapter 2: I love this story so much 😢 they are both so lovely and I adore how donghae appears childish but when you get to know his thoughts, he is actually so thoughtful, caring and 100% adorable. This is such a fluffy story with subtle angst that made my heart hurt a little bit buuuut the end made it all worth it! I always come back to reread this. I love all the characters donghae met at the club! I wish there is a sequel where he actually become close friends with them 💕
