Kang Seulgi is a very young and a successful CEO of the number 1 talent agency in South Korea named Kang Entertainment. She achieved so many things in life despite of being a 22 year old. She was from a wealthy and a respectable family which was the reason for her to easily enter the platform of the entertainment industry at such a young age. She was an inspiration for many because of her achievements in life though some also despise her for being a ruthless person. Her ruthlessness somehow did change when she met Irene in her life. They met in a not so great situation.

 

Irene was a new person who dreamt of being an idol ever since she was 3 years old. She was a dreamer ever since then and she enjoyed performing in front of her relatives ever since she was a kid. She lived in Daegu with her parents and her younger sister. She dreamt of living in Seoul to pursue her music career but her parents disagreed on her plans which made Irene kind of upset though she was really desperate to be an idol so her dad made a deal which is for her to finish her studies before pursuing her dream. Irene couldn't held her excitement at the time so she studied willingly till' the end of her highschool life and she ended up being a part of the Top 10. She was known for being a girl with beauty and brains ever since then. 

 

One day, she ended up seeing a post from Kang Entertainment about an audition which made her practice so hard for her performance. She traveled from Daegu to Seoul so that she could finally have the chance to audition at the number 1 talent agency.

 

"I heard the CEO is a cold and a ruthless person. Are you sure you can handle it??" Her friend named Jennie asked

 

"It's fine, it's my dream afterall" Irene answered, already prepared about the critisms she'll face at the day of the auditions

 

She decided to stay a bit at her friend's apartment at the time since renting houses in Seoul is expensive. At least it would be less of a hassle and her friend would be an advantage if ever she gets lost in the city. It's her first time being in Seoul and her Daegu accent might be a hindrance for her so she practice speaking in a Seoul accent for a couple of hours.

It was the day of the audition and Irene was already so nervous ever since she saw the judges. The audition hasn't started yet since the CEO was said to still be in a meeting. She was trembling due to nervousness and the same goes for the other trainees with her. Irene tried to keep her composure and her confidence so that she would be an eye-catcher later on. 

 

As she was practicing, the door suddenly opened and Irene swore that she almost had a heart attack from the CEO entering the room. She felt the aura of the room becoming more and more darker which made all of the people inside, except the CEO, tremble.

 

"let's start shall we?" The CEO said

 

Irene thought that the low and husky voice of the CEO was hot. She also went to stare at the CEO's fiery monolid eyes and her heartbeat went faster by the view of the CEO though the nervousness is still present. After a lot of contestants, Irene could sense the monolid girl being furious as she yelled at a contestant awhile ago for being awful.

 

It was already Irene's turn and at that moment, she felt like she was already dead. Her heart was beating crazily fast, her hands were shaking, her lips were trembling slightly, and her feet was cold. She closed her eyes before introducing.

 

"Hi, my name is Bae Irene. I'm 20 years old from Daegu." Irene introduced herself but then she saw those eyes of the CEO which felt like shards of glass that pierced through her skin. 

 

"why did you thought of auditioning at the company at that age??" the CEO asked still looking furious

 

Irene swear that she heard some contestants laughing which pissed her off. So what if she's not the average age for a trainee??

 

"I wanted to be able to showcase my talents in front of many people..." Irene answered as she was holding a smile though deep inside she really wanted to fight those who laughed at her age.

 

"if that's what you wanted then you should've just stand in a middle of a street full of people and sing!" Seulgi answered

 

The laughter of the contestants were much more louder which made Irene pissed

 

"next!" the CEO said

 

"but I didn't even started showcasing my talent yet-" Irene was cut off when the CEO called the security to guide her through the exit

 

Irene was fuming which made her walk towards the CEO who appears to be sitting beside her secretary

 

"I didn't know your company would look more into the exterior than the talent itself. You could've just handled a modelling agency instead" Irene said before storming off and all of the people in that room ended up shocked

 

Seulgi herself was shocked also. It was her first time to ever encounter someone who has the guts to trashtalk her. She then stood up and followed Irene. Her secretary tries to hold her hand to avoid the CEO from leaving but the CEO is stubborn.

 

"You'll be in charge of the contestants. I have something to deal with." Seulgi said before leaving

 

Seulgi exits the room and then she saw Irene from afar which made the CEO follow. 

 

Irene on the other hand, is super pissed cause of the CEO and the contestants who laughed their asses off

 

"MY AGE ISN'T EVEN FUNNY" Irene exclaimed as she walked her way towards the elevator and then she pressed the ground floor. The door was about to close when suddenly, a hand tries to stopped the door from closing which startled Irene

 

The next thing she knew is that the person she hates to see at the moment would appear in front of her

 

 

Kang Seulgi.

 

 

"Hey grumpy woman, be honored that I followed you" Seulgi said

 

Irene scoffed and ignored the monolid girl with her. She was already impatient and she really was excited for the elevator to reach the ground floor but all of a sudden, the elevator lost power. Irene screamed which sounded like a whistle with a very high note. Seulgi ended up being impressed so she clapped her hands.

 

"wow I like the high note you did there" Seulgi jokingly said but then she noticed Irene trembling in fear as her eyes were tightly closed

 

Seulgi went closer to the girl and she carressed the girl's back to comfort her

 

"Are you alright.....??" Seulgi asked unconscious that she was being concerned at the girl who trashtalked her moments ago

 

The older girl started sobbing which confused Seulgi

 

"h-hey what's wrong?? are you sick?" Seulgi asked once again

 

She realized that the older girl is trembling so she made the girl sit and then she held the older girl's hand

 

"tell me if you're sick okay?" Seulgi said

 

Irene held onto the monolid girl's hand tightly and said

 

"I-i'm scared...."

 

Seulgi looked at Irene who was looking at her with those teary eyes and Seulgi swore that her heartbeat went fast. This girl is really something, Seulgi thought. Seulgi held Irene's chin up and then she puts her face closer to Irene's making the latter blush severely.

 

"Don't be. I'm here so don't be scared" Seulgi said in a gentle voice as she gave the latter a soft smile which surprised Irene

 

Who would've thought that the girl who looks so ruthless and cold in the audtion room awhile ago would turn out to be a very kind and caring person

 

"r-really??" Irene asked and the latter could only nod for assurance

 

Seulgi tried to call her secretary Wendy not letting go of Irene's hand who seemed to be gripping tightly onto hers. Seulgi commanded Wendy to fix the elevator within 4 minutes or else she'd fire those maintenance staff. Seulgi went back to comforting Irene who seemed to be much more better than awhile ago. After awhile the elevator was already perfectly normal and the two already stood up as if nothing happened. The elevator was surrounded with an awkward aura. They both arrived at the ground floor and Irene was about to leave but then Seulgi called her attention.

 

Irene noticed a sudden change in Seulgi's attitude. It went back to a very cold type of attitude which was far from the attitude she had awhile ago in the elevator. 

 

"Ms.Bae can you follow me somewhere private? I want to have a talk with you" Seulgi said with a very poker faced expression. Irene could only nod since it was the person who comforted her awhile ago

 

They went to a place wherein there's no people at all then Seulgi tried to compose herself before starting to speak

 

"I know I've been rude awhile ago and i'm sure you noticed the change in my attitude when we were in an elevator. I would like you to forget about what happened awhile ago at the elevator. You might hold a grudge on me and use that card to ruin my reputation which I highly disapprove of." Seulgi said which confused Irene

 

Irene was confused as to why that elevator thing is such a huge deal for the CEO when in fact it was just the latter being unexpectedly nice to her. Irene was curious but she as to why but she just shrugged off the thoughts.

 

"You think i'd hold a grudge on you?" Irene said but she couldn't hold her laughter when she saw the latter frowning

 

"Look, I don't really care about what you did awhile ago. Sure it was straight-off annoying but I'm not the one to hold grudges onto someone" Irene answered earning a sigh of relief from the CEO

 

"Is that it?? Can I leave now??" Irene asked as she felt the awkward vibe surrounding the area. Seulgi nodded so Irene left the CEO there standing, confused and surprised.

 

She definitely is something, Seulgi thought.

 

 

...

 

 

A few days passed, Seulgi was still thinking about what Irene said. She was feeling troubled and her mind was just full of what if's. What if that girl would really use that against Seulgi? What if she tries to make a deal out of that? Seulgi was still doubting but she saw those eyes of hers that day which seemed to be sincere. She called her secretary by pressing a button which would immediately notify the secretary that her CEO needs her.

 

"Secretary Seungwan. I have a task for you to handle" Seulgi said

 

"What is it?" The secretary asked

 

"Give me the application paper of the girl who trashtalked me days ago." Seulgi answered

 

She thought about making the girl audition again as she felt a foreign feeling she'd never felt before, guilt.

 

 

Irene was packing her things since she has nothing to do in Seoul anymore. She was ready to go back to Daegu until her phone rang. An unknown number was calling her which made her hesitant whether she'll answer it or not. She ended up answering.

 

"Hello?? who's this??" Irene asked 

 

"This is Kang Seulgi. The CEO of Kang Entertainment" Her eyes widened when she heard the name of the woman whom she was curious of for the past few days. She wasn't sure of an exact reason though but one of it was because of the latter being surprisingly nice at the elevator then telling her to forget what happened. She was curious to why her being innocent seems to be a big deal when in fact there's nothing wrong about it.

 

"o-oh Ms.CEO why did you call my number?? Is it about that elevator thing?? Yes i'll forget about it if that's bothering you... I have to go now-" Irene didn't finished what she was about to say when Seulgi cut her words

 

"I'll be giving you another chance to audition. Tomorrow, 6 pm sharp." Seulgi said which made Irene surprised

 

She didn't realized that Seulgi already hunged up cause she was shocked. Everything seemed to be unbelievable for the girl. She heard the CEO not giving second chances to everyone but it's a surprise that she'll be the first person who'll ever receive a second chance from the CEO itself, Kang Seulgi.

 

 

 

A few months later, Irene was a hardworking trainee. She has been looked up to by other trainees also. Seulgi on the other hand, couldn't help but to peek on the huge tainted window while watching Irene practice. She admired the girl who was elegantly dancing. She frequently visits the dance room secretly to watch Irene danced without the older girl knowing. As Seulgi was watching, someone suddenly tapped her shoulder which scared the out of the CEO. It was Seungwan, her secretary.

 

"What are you looking at??" Wendy scans the room only to see Irene dancing. Seungwan can't help but to chuckle which made Seulgi glare at her.

 

"so you're looking at Irene Bae? perhaps.... do you like her?" Seulgi's eyes widened at Seungwan's question

 

"N-no! I'm just amazed at how well she dances." Seulgi replied. 

 

"I wish I could dance with her too.." Seulgi thought

 

"well then why aren't you entering the room?? why are you peeking outside?" Wendy asked which made Seulgi nervous all of a sudden causing beads of sweat to form on her forehead

 

"I was just checking you know? In fact, i'm now about to leave." Seulgi said before leaving making her secretary chuckle

 

 

Irene on the other hand knew that Seulgi was peeking through the windows which made her chuckle deep inside. She thought it was cute since her CEO isn't really that kind of person but she really wished that Seulgi would enter the room which really happened but a few weeks later though. Seulgi entered the room wearing a loose shirt and a baggy sweatpants. Her heart suddenly beated fast when she saw her CEO in a casual attire for the first time ever. Even the other trainees were surprised. Some trainees even looked like there were hearts on their eyes while looking at the CEO which Irene hated honestly. Seulgi suddenly walked towards Irene and then she smiled at her which made the latter feel butterflies in her stomach.

 

"Ms.Bae may you teach me a dance you've been practicing for awhile?" Seulgi requested and Irene quickly nodded

 

Irene felt like she'd won some match when she saw the disappointment from the other trainees' faces. She returned the smile and then she taught the CEO the steps. Seulgi can't help but to be amazed seeing Irene's movement. They were so flawless and neat and Seulgi can't help but to focus at Irene only. The other girl was done dancing and then she saw Seulgi looking impressed that's why she felt relieved.

 

"I think I get how the dance is" Seulgi said and smiled afterwards

 

Irene was surprised. Can she really dance it after seeing it for the first time??, she thought.

 

Seulgi started dancing and all of them were very shocked especially Irene. Seulgi looked like a masterpiece while dancing. She can't take off her eyes from the CEO as she danced neatly. Her movements were sharp and precise and she knows how to control her movements. Seulgi finished dancing and Irene immediately gave the girl a round of applause and that when Irene admired her so much.

 

 

...

 

 

One day, Seulgi noticed Irene getting close to another trainee named Bogum. Everytime she glanced at the two, she saw how Irene laughed whenever the man jokes and it made Seulgi fume. She can't stand seeing the two together which made her walk towards Irene who seemed to be startled.

 

"Ms.Bae come with me" Seulgi said

 

Irene followed the monolid girl till' they entered the latter's huge office room which looked marvelous. Seulgi went to her table and sat. Irene walked toward the vacant chairs beside the CEO's table.

 

"What's with you and that Bogum?" Seulgi asked avoiding to look at the girl who seemed to smirk when she heard what Seulgi asked

 

"Why are you jealous?" Irene teased the latter playfully

 

"No!!" Seulgi denied quickly but deep down she really is jealous

 

Irene laughed. She stood up and went beside the CEO. She thought that the CEO was cute since she's being jealous over nothing. They weren't really together yet but Irene knew that the feeling is mutual unlike Seulgi who thinks that Irene likes that Bogum.

 

"there's nothing wrong with dating someone right? There's no rule in the company-" Seulgi interrupted Irene's sentence

 

"Well now there is a rule. Trainees are not allowed to date especially dating labelmates" Seulgi said before looking at some papers which were work-related. Irene on the other hand pouted like a baby which made Seulgi bothered.

 

"What should I do then? It seems like I can't date you cause i'm a trainee.." Irene said as she released a smirk knowing that Seulgi would panic which she really did

 

"w-what?" Seulgi asked as she stuttered

 

"Kang Seulgi, I like you. I know you do too since it's obvious."  Seulgi blushed furiously with what Irene said. Her face was as red as a ripe tomato and Irene can't help but to laugh

 

"You like me??" Seulgi asked

 

"Yes I like you so much. Aren't you gonna ask me something?" Irene was expecting for something but Seulgi was too slow to understand the situation. It took a minute before she finally realized. She cleared before standing up and then she looked at Irene who is also looking at her with those sparkly eyes.

 

"Irene, do you want to be my girlfriend??" Seulgi asked like a robot because her nervousness is consuming her and Irene can sense it that's why she wrapped her arms onto Seulgi's waist pulling her into a tight hug and looked up at the taller, monolid girl.

 

"I would love to" Irene answered and Seulgi knew this was the happiest moment of her life.

 

 

...

 

 

 

As Seulgi was working, her phone suddenly rang and once she saw the caller she immediately smiled. She signaled her secretary Wendy to leave her room for a bit so that she can call her girlfriend freely.

 

"Hey bub, why did you call?" Seulgi asked

 

"I just missed you. How are you? How are things going there?" Seulgi smiled when she heard Irene worrying 

 

"Everything's fine here, I should be the one asking you how things are going. I saw your schedule and it's hectic" Irene sighed after Seulgi spoke

 

"Yeah.. I'm so tired. It would be nice if i'd receive a hug from you right now" Seulgi laughed when she heard Irene baby-talking.

 

"Once your schedule is over i'll go and give you lots of hugs" Seulgi answered and Irene can't help but to smile at her girlfriend's comment

 

"That sounds nice. I should go now! Bye love" Irene said full of excitement which Seulgi thought was too cute.

 

The call ended and Seulgi can't help but to smile like a fool. She missed her so much and she can't wait to hug her girlfriend soon.
