“Ah, hai.” Said the guy as he immediately turned towards Rein’s direction 

“Fukuyama Rein desu, hajimemae” Rein bowed 

“Inoo Kei desu, hajimemae” bowed Kei and stared at Rein for a while. He then assist Rein towards her seat 

“Sorry for making you wait.” Said Rein as she looks through the menu 

“Iie. Daijoubu. I came here quite early.” Said Kei “Geez. I’m nervous” he added while chuckling nervously 

“Me too. This is my first time going on a blind date.” Rein said 

“Ok~~ so I guess we both don’t have any experience when it comes to this. I suggest we should get to know each other then. Gosh, I’m so lame. Gomen.” Said Kei as he scratched the back of his head 

“Relax. Just do you ok? Just act normal.” Chuckled Rein 

“Wakatta. Wakatta. How did you ended up in that dating site?” asked Kei 

“It’s all my friends’ fault. They are the one who made that account.” 

“Same. My friends made that account as well. I was surprised when I saw your preference. Didn’t know that I will be able to find someone who has same interests as me.” Kei smiled 

“Me too! I was surprised when we matched! So you like anime? You attend cons?!” asked Rein excitedly as her eyes sparkles 

“Hai. I also did some part time job as a mangaka before.” Said Kei 

“Woahhh! Sugoi ne! What do you do now? You didn’t pursue being a mangaka?” asked Rein 

“Unfortunately no. I pursue my passion in music ne. I’m a music professor.” Smiled Kei 

“Sugoi ne! I am amazed with people who are musically literate since I myself is not.” Laughs Rein 

 

The night went on for Rein and Kei getting to know each other and talking about random stuffs. As for Taisuke… 

 

“Taisuke daijoubu?” said Shiori as she caressed Taisuke at his back 

“Eh? What? Oh. I’m ok.” Said Taisuke as he snapped on his senses 

“You seemed to be distracted. You’re physically here but mentally not.” Said Shiori sadly 

“I…I’m sorry Shiori. I guess I’m not feeling well.” Explained Taisuke 

“Is that so? I will ask you for a dinner with some businessmen. It is a good opportunity for our businesses.” Said Shiori 

“I’m sorry Shiori, but I think I have to decline. I’m not feeling myself tonight.” Said Taisuke “I’ll be off now. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He added and placed a kiss at Shiori’s forehead 

“Eh?! Demo Taisuke!” protested Shiori but it was too late as Taisuke dashed off the hall 

 

“What is wrong with me?! I cannot take Rein off my mind! Am I too worry that she will get into trouble in that blind date?! Arrgggh!” thought Taisuke as he drove his car around the city 

“Where are you Rein?!” said Taisuke as he tries to call’s Rein phone “Why isn’t she answering?!” he furiously shouted and banged the steering wheel in frustration 

 

“It’s been a great night, Fukuyama-san.” Said Kei as they were walking out the restaurant 

“Geez, just call me Rein.” Said Rein “I had fun. Thanks for tonight.” She smiled 

“It’s getting late, let me send you home.” Said Kei 

“Ah it’s fine ne. I can take care of myself.” Said Rein 

“I insist ne. Its—” 

“REIN!” 

Kei and Rein both got startled and looked at the direction of the one who shouted 

“Taipi?” muttered Rein and looked so surprised “What are you doing here?” 

“Doesn’t matter. Let’s go home now.” Said Taisuke as he hold Rein at the wrist and stared at Kei 

“Anooo…who?” uttered Kei in confusion 

“Oh! Kei, this is Taisuke, my bestfriend.” Said Rein “Taipi, this is Kei, the one I told you I’m meeting tonight.” Rein continued 

Taisuke just stared at Kei. 

“I guess you’ll be ok now, Rein-chan. I know you will get home safely.” Said Kei as she smiled at Rein and felt the tension in the atmosphere 

“Hai. Thanks for tonight, Kei. You take care on your way home ne?” smiled Rein 

“Hai. Text me once you get home ne?” smiled Kei and waved goodbye “It was nice meeting you.” He smiled at Taisuke and off he went 

 

“Why aren’t you answering my calls?!” said Taisuke furiously at Rein 

“What? You know I’m at a date, why are you calling? Is it something important for you to disturb me like that?!” said Rein who slowly is getting annoyed at how the guy in front of her is acting 

“I got worried about you! I don’t know who you are with, what if something wrong happened to you?!” said Taisuke who looks frustrated 

“Really Taipi? You are worried about me? Your bodyguard and the next to take over our yakuza clan. You’re out of your mind.” Laughs Rein 

“Aish! You’re unbelievable!” said Taisuke frustratingly and dragged Rein with him 

“Oi where are we going?!” asked Rein and even clueless, has no choice but to follow Taisuke who is dragging her 

 

“Really? Pub? You got a problem Fujigaya?” laughed Rein as they went inside a pub 

“I’m just stressed today.” Sighed Taisuke as he ordered beers 

“What happened at the convention?” asked Rein as she drinks her beer 

“Let us not talk about that.” Said Taisuke and drinks his beer as well “What do you think about that guy?” he continued 

“Eh? Who guy?” asked Rein confusedly 

“That Kei guy.” He replied 

“Oh! I think he is a nice guy. Very gentleman, funny and very random. We talked random stuffs.” Laughs Rein 

“So you like him?” asked Taisuke and looker at her straight in the eyes 

“Eh? I…I like him.” Said Rein 

“Souka. So you’ll pursue him as your boyfriend?” 

“Ehh? No! What are you saying Taipi? I just get to know the guy and you’re asking me if I will pursue having a relationship with him? You think I’m that easy to get?!” asked Rein furiously 

“But you said you like him!” pouted Taisuke 

“Baka! I like him because he is a nice guy. I like him like a friend, ok?! Geez! Baka gaya!” hissed Rein and gulps her beer 

 

Few beers after… 

 

“Geez Taipi! Get a hold of yourself!” said Rein as she dragged Taisuke inside his mansion. 

“Errr. Rein…” drunk Taisuke muttered 

“Geez. You are so weak! You have the guts to drag me for a drink but you easily got drunk!” laughed Rein as she walks their way to Taisuke’s bedroom 

 

Rein tossed Taisuke on his bed but was surprised when she was also dragged on the bed. 

“Oi! Let go!” said Rein as she pushed Taisuke away 

“Erm. Onegai. Don’t…leave…me…” Pouted drunk Taipi and keeps on hugging Rein 

“Aish!” sighed Rein in defeat as she stopped struggling. Since tired and drunk, she fell asleep. 

 

The next day… 

“Erm” Taisuke slowly opened his eyes and was surprised upon seeing Rein’s face centimeters away from his face 

“Shoot. What…happened…last night?” he tried to remember as he held his head and stares at Rein for a while 

“Rein…” he caressed her cheek and slowly moved towards her as he felt his heart beating faster. Soon, he found himself planting a kiss at Rein’s soft lips 

“Erm…” Rein slowly moved which made Taisuke backed off and fixed himself 

“Oh. You’re already awake Taipi” said Rein as she saw Taisuke sitting beside her 

“Ah..hai...” said Taisuke “How’s your sleep?” 

“I think my body got so stiff since you didn’t let go of me last night. Geez, such a drunk .” laughs Rein as she rolls her eyes 

“Mou...gomen. This is so embarrassing.” sighed Taisuke 

“If you want to make it up to me, cook us some breakfast. I am sooooo hungry!” hissed Rein and get out of bed. 

 

At the office... 

“So, Rein-chan, how did the blind date went last night?” nudged Chiaki as both her and Sato swarmed at Rein’s table 

“Geez. Wazzup with you guys? All so excited and giddy like that?” laughed Rein 

“Of course we are excited! We wanted to know what happened!” exclaimed Sato excitedly 

“Is he handsome?” butted Chiaki 

“Well, yes, he is handsome I must say.” smiled Rein 

“KYAAAAAHHHHH! So do you like him?” squealed the two in unison 

“As a friend.” cleared Rein 

“KYAAAAHHHH! When’s the next date?” 

“Hmmm, we planned on meeting this Saturday for a con.” 

“OMG! Our friend is going to get herself a boyfriend!” squealed the two 

“Urusai-yo~~ we’ve only known each other yesterday. Don’t look forward about it too much” said Rein 

 

That Saturday... 

“Kei-kun!” Rein said as she approached Kei who was waiting at the clock tower at the park 

“Hi Rein-chan.” said Kei and flashed a smile at her 

“Ikou?” 

 

Rein and Kei spent the whole day at the cosplay convention. They visited many booths and bought some merch. They also took a pic with some cosplayers. Both of them are having fun. Meanwhile, at the other side of the hall was a guy in a Dali mask wearing red jumpsuit, it was no other than Taisuke Fujigaya and was secretly following them. Little did he know that Rein already found out that he was spying on them. 

 

“This was a fun day, Rein-chan. Look at all these merch we bought.” laughed Kei as he looks at the paper bags of merch that they bought 

“Hai! It was fun attending con with someone who has the same interest as me. Thanks for tonight, Kei-kun.” 

“Lemme send you home.” said Kei 

“Oh, it’s fine. I still need to go somewhere.” said Rein 

“Is that so? Souka. Kiotsukette ne!” smiled Kei and waves goodbye 

Rein walked towards an alley and when she was about to get at the end of the alley, she spoke. 

“Why the are you spying on me and Kei, Taisuke?!” she asked furiously without looking behind her 

“So you knew all along.” sighed Taisuke as Rein looked at his direction 

“Of course I would know! Don’t treat me like a fool! What are you up to Taisuke?! Why are you spying on me and Kei?!” Rein was really furious as she shouted at Taisuke 

“I was just worried.” 

“Worried?! Why?! I told you Kei is a nice guy! And I can take care of myself!” shouted Rein “You don’t trust me don’t you?” she continued 

“No...You got it all wrong.” said Taisuke 

“Urusai! You think I am just a reckless brat who will get herself into trouble. You think that I made the wrong choice in befriending Kei. Well fine, if that’s what you think, I cannot do anything about it. But I want to clear things with you, you don’t have the right to spy on me or to tell me what to do. Even if you are my boss. So stay the out of us!” said Rein as she walked pass Taisuke and push him away. She is really, really furious. 

“Rein matte!” Taisuke know that he can’t do anything especially when Rein is in that furious mode 

 

“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA what’s with the get up?!” Tamamori laughed so hard as he saw Taisuke in the costume 

“Urusaiyo! I called you so I can have someone to talk to. Not someone who will make fun of me.” pouted Taisuke 

“So you spied on them? Are you out of your mind?!” said Tamamori as he drinks his beer 

“I don’t know! I think I really am out of my mind!” said Taisuke in frustration 

“Dude, you’re in love.” said Tamamori 

“I guess so. What do I do?” said Taisuke in confusion 

“Yeah, what will you do? You plan to confess to Rein-chan? How about Shiori-san?” asked Tamamori 

“I guess I should break up with her. I don’t want to fool her. Then, I will confess to Rein.” said Taisuke 

“Woah, woah, woah dude. Think many times before you break up with Shiori. Her father is known as the head of a gang. What if he got you killed for breaking his daughter’s heart?” Tamamori warned 

“I don’t know. Come what may. I don’t want to live in lie. I want to be true, to myself, to Rein and to Shiori as well.” said Taisuke firmly 

 

The next day, Taisuke prepared since Shiori asked him to be her date in a recital she is going to attend. He is clearly making up his mind what to tell Shiori right after the recital since he planned to break up with her that day. 

 

Later that day, Taisuke went with Shiori to the recital hall. 

“Oh God! He is the piano virtuoso! The one who will perform for tonight’s recital!” sad Shiori in excitement as she pointed at the guy in a crisp white suit 

“EHHH?!” Taisuke’s eyes widened as he looked at the direction of the guy “Kei?!” he uttered 

“You know him? I didn’t know you’re a fan of classical music.” said Shiori and dragged Taisuke towards Kei’s direction 

“Hajimemae Inoo-sama, I am a fan of yours.” greeted Shiori and was surprised with the date of Kei 

“Rein-chan?!” 

“Takimoto-san, Fujigaya-san...” said Rein 

“What are you doing here?!” asked Taisuke as she looked at Rein who’s wearing a black silk dress which fits perfectly to her 

“I’m Kei-kun's date tonight.” Rein answered but cannot look directly at Taisuke 

“Takimoto-san, thank you for coming to my recital. You too Fujigaya-san. I didn’t know you two are close.” said Kei 

“Not only are we close, but we are planning to get married.” said Shiori which made both Taisuke and Rein looked at her in full surprise 

“Ma...marry?” uttered Rein  

“Wow! Omedetto! Oh, the show is about to start, I must be going now ne. I hope you enjoy the show.” smiled Kei and gently holds Rein’s hand and escorted her out the hall 

“They are planning to get...married?”  Rein kept on thinking about what Shiori said and was very uneasy. Fortunately, Kei playing the piano on the stage helped her relax her mind. She was in awe while watching Kei play the piano. He looked so handsome in doing so. 

 

After the recital, Taisuke and Shiori went into a restaurant to grab some food. 

“Inoo-sama’s music is such a masterpiece! I almost cried when he played the last song.” said Shiori and noticed that Taisuke has been spacing out since a while ago. “Taisuke, daijoubu?” she asked worriedly 

“Anooo. Shiori. I...I...I have something to tell you.” Taisuke said 

“Is it a bad news?” said Shiori in a flat tone “If it’s a bad news I don’t want to hear it” she continued 

“Shiori please. I--” 

“Are you going to break up with me? Are you going to leave me?!” said Shiori in a cracked voice which caught Taisuke offguard 

“Shiori--” 

“Is it because of Rein?” Shiori asked 

“Yes.” answered Taisuke 

“I knew it. I know that she is so special to you. I also know that when you left me at the convention, is because you plan to see Rein.” said Shiori as she is now crying 

“Gomen, Shiori. I didn’t realized it before. But now I know, it is clear to me that I like her. I am so sorry.” said Taisuke 

“You know how much I love you, right? I love you so much Taisuke. I really do. But if you’re not gonna be happy with me, and everytime we’re together all you’re thinking is Rein, then I guess I should let you go.” said Shiori as she is now bursting into tears 

“Shiori. Gomen.” said Taisuke 

“Go. Tell her you love her before other guy will take her away from you.” said Shiori 

“Arigatou Shiori. Sayonara.” said Taisuke and went off 

 

“Tomorrow, I'll confess to Rein.” said Taisuke and messaged Rein 

“Let’s meet tomorrow. 1pm at the park.” 

 

 

The next day, Taisuke prepared for his confession to Rein. As he was about to leave his house, a van stopped in front of his gate and masked men dragged him inside the van. 

“Who..Who are you?!” shouted Taisuke as he tries to get out the van 

“Urusai!” said one of the masked men and punched Taisuke at the stomach making him pass out 

Rein went on her way to the park. She was hesitant if she will meet Taisuke because she is still pissed of him. However, she decided to do so. 

 

“I wonder where is that guy?” said Rein as she looked at the clock tower which reads 1pm “He told me 1pm but he is still not here!” she added and was starting to get furious 

“Rein-chan? What are you doing here?” said Kei as he walked towards Rein 

“Kei-kun. Oh, I am waiting for Taisuke.” Rein replied “What are you doing here?” 

“I just bought some stuff ne. So you’re meeting with Fujigaya-san. Ne, you knew about the marriage?” Kei asked out of the blue 

“Ehh? Anooo…well…no…” said Rein as she looks down 

“I thought so too, based on your reaction last night. You were so shocked last night.” Said Kei 

“Anooo…can we please not talk about it?” said Rein 

“You’re in love with Fujigaya-san, right?” said Kei which made Rein looked at him in wide eyes 

“Wha—” 

“The way you looked at him, the way you talked to him, and the way you looked so hurt about what we heard last night. It all confirms that you’re in love with him.” Explained Kei 

“Geez. You’re an otaku, a music professor and a piano virtuoso, didn’t knew you’re also a psychologist.” Rein tried to laugh about it 

“It’s not me that you’re trying to fool, it’s yourself that you’re trying to fool if you keep on denying it.” Said Kei 

“Geez. I..I guess you’re right ne.” admitted Rein “But what can I do? He is gonna get married with Takimoto-san.” She added 

“Maybe that’s why you’ll be seeing him today. To talk things out.” Kei said 

“I guess so. But he is still not here. I wonder where he is?” said Rein worriedly 

“Ne, I guess the dating app didn’t worked afterall.” Chuckles Kei as he looked up the sky 

“Kei-kun.” Uttered Rein 

“You know Rein-chan, I like you. I’m comfortable around you and I want to get you more. But I guess your heart already belongs to someone else.” Said Kei with a faint smile 

“Kei-kun. Gomen. I like you too but as a friend only. Gomen.” Said Rein 

Kei held her hand and looked her in the eyes “I’m happy to know that you like me, even as a friend. So that means, we can still remain as friends?” he smiled 

“Of course.” Rein smiled as well 

Meanwhile at the abandoned building not far from the city… 

“Erm” Taisuke slowly opens his eyes and was surprised when he saw the group of men around him. He cannot move because he is tied at a chair 

“Wha…what do you...want?” he asked weakly then he saw a shadow of a man walking towards him “Takimoto-san?” he weakly uttered and felt a kick at his stomach which made him cough blood 

“I told you not to break my daughter’s heart, right? But what did you do? You broke her heart, I’m gonnabreak you bones!” shouted the old guy 

“Go…go…men…” uttered Taisuke weakly and felt a kick at his cheek which made him lose balance at the chair he was tied to 

“Die!” said the old man angrily and signaled his men to beat the out of him 

“Re…Rein…” thought Taisuke as he reached his wrist watch and pressed a button 

 

“! Taisuke!” exclaimed Rein as she looked at her phone when it buzzed 

“What happened, Rein-chan?” asked Kei worriedly 

“Ah. Betsuni. I. I just need to go somewhere. Jaa!” said Rein and ran as fast as she could while following the GPS that appeared at her screen “What have you gotten yourself into you jerk?! Aish!” 

 

Rein ran as fast as she can and arrived at the location that the GPS is showing. She immediately pushed the massive doors in front of her and she can hear the grunts of Taisuke and the kicks and punch of the men. She hurriedly go to where the sounds are coming from and saw Taisuke, bathing in his own blood and looks too weak. 

“YAMETTE!!!!” shouted Rein which caught the attention of the guys “Don’t you dare lay another finger on him!!!” she added 

“What are you doing here, missy?” smirked one of the guys 

“Yeah, and what are you blabbering about while acting so brave?” added another 

“Shut the up!” said Rein as she gets a metal pipe beside her and attacked the nearest guy to her 

“What the?! Get her!!!” shouted another guy and all lounged an attack at Rein 

Rein smash and hit the guys one by one. One tried to hold her from behind but she headbutt him then kick the guy in front of her. 

“YOU DARE TO HURT HIM! YOU ALL SHOULD DIE!” said Rein as her aura suddenly changed and turned into a beast. She one by one smashed, punched and kick all the guys until she thought that she got them all 

“I don’t know who you are but what I know is that your friend here will die!” said the last guy as he was about to stab Taisuke with a knife but Rein was quick enough to shield herself to Taisuke causing her to get stabbed by the knife at the stomach 

“UGH!” grunted Rein and hold onto her stomach. She put all her remaining energy to kick the guy in front of her making him pass out. She too passed out because of the injury she took. Lots of blood are now gushing out her stomach 

“REIN?! REIN!!! REIN WAKE UP!!!!” Taisuke cried as he slowly crawled towards Rein 

 

Unknown to Rein, Kei followed her and called the police. They arrived at the seen and saw what happened to Rein and Taisuke. They immediately send the two at the hospital. 

 

“How is she, doc?” asked Taisuke as he looks from outside the room where Rein is 

“Don’t worry about your friend, she is getting stable now.” Said the doctor 

“Arigatou.” Said Taisuke as he went inside the room “Rein. Gomen ne. Please be ok.” He cried as he holds her hand and kissed it 

“U..ru..sai…” Rein weakly said 

“Rein! Thank goodness you’re awake! Are you ok? Want me to get the doctor?” Taisuke bombarded her with questions 

“Geez. Re..lax..” said Rein weakly 

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. This happened because of me.” Cried Taisuke 

“Yes. Because you’re…a jerk.” Said Rein 

“Mou. Please take some rest. I’ll take care of you.” Assured Taisuke 

“Rein-chan, how are you?” asked Kei as he enters the room 

“Kei-kun…how did you?” said Rein weakly 

“I followed you. And when I saw that you’re going to an abandoned building, I immediately called the police.” Explained Kei 

“Sou..ka..arigatou.” Rein smiled weakly 

“Take a rest now ne? Fujigaya-san, may I talk with you?” said Kei and turns to Taisuke 

“Ah, hai.” Said Taisuke and they went into the hospital garden to talk 

 

“What do you want to talk about?” Taisuke started 

“Rein-chan, she ended up like that because of you.” Said Kei 

“I—” 

“How can I let you have her if you cannot even protect her?” Kei continued as he looks straight at Taisuke 

“Ehh?” Taisuke replied and looked confused 

“I know you like her and she likes you as well, but how can you ensure that she is safe with you if you cannot even protect her?!” Kei said 

“I know. I’m a jerk. I’m a coward. But seeing Rein like that made me want to protect her more. I know she have gone through so much because of me, but this time, I’ll make sure that I’m the one who will protect and keep her safe. I don’t want her to be hurt ever again.” Said Taisuke with seriousness in his tone and face 

“How can I make sure you won’t hurt her? You ended up like that because you dumped Takimoto-san. How sure am I that you won’t do the same to Rein-chan?” asked Kei 

“I cannot imagine my future without her.” Said Taisuke 

“Wakatta. Make sure you will do what you said. Because I am ready to take her away from you, Fujigaya-san.” Said Kei in full seriousness 

 

Days passed by and Rein is slowly getting better and is now ready to be discharged. 

 

“Finally! I can go home. I missed my room and my manga and my posters.” Laughed Rein as she packs her stuff 

“Who says you’re going to your house?” said Taisuke 

“Ehh?” blinked Rein 

“You’re going home with me.” Said Taisuke firmly 

“Ehhhhhh?! With you?! Demo doue?!” asked Rein in wide eyes 

“I told you I’ll take care of you, right? I don’t want to leave you alone knowing that you’re still not that fully recovered.” Explained Taisuke 

“Geez. What are you talking about Taipi? I’m fine and I can take care of myself.” Protested Rein 

“No. You, me, my house.” Said Taisuke firmly 

“Mou.” Pouted Rein 

 

At Taisuke’s house… 

“Let me take you to your room.” Said Taisuke as he carried Rein bridal style and took her to her room. He then gently lays her down her bed and stared at her 

“What?” said Rein as she blinks while staring at Taisuke as well 

“I love you.” Said Taisuke as he gently hugs Rein 

“Wha—” 

“All this time, I’ve loved you. I’m just in denial of it at first. But seeing you with other guy as well as at the edge of danger, I realized that I cannot live my life without you. I love you Rein. I love you so much.” Said Taisuke as he slowly went top of Rein and pinned her at the bed and gently placed a kiss on her soft lips 

“Uhn” uttered Rein as she was surprised at Taisuke’s gesture. She felt her heart went doki doki 

“I..I love you too, Taipi.” Smiled Rein. And with that, Taisuke planted another kiss on her lips. They shared a passionate kiss as Taipi caressed her hair and gently hugs her 

“Now I didn’t stole a kiss from you ne?” winked Taisuke and kissed her again lovingly as she giggles and hugs him 

 

 

Few months later… 

“What the?” Rein was surprised when her phone beeped. She was so shocked seeing the GPS notification from Taisuke’s wrist watch once again 

“What the ?! What happened to him this time?!” she was so worried as she ran towards where the GPS is instructing her to go only to find herself  at a lagoon with many cherry blossoms bloom 

 

“What the?” she looked around and walked as she calls onto Taisuke “Taipi!!!” she got stuck at her place as she gets in front of the pavilion and was surprised when it lit up. What surprised her more is that Taisuke is standing in the middle of the pavilion 

“Taipi! What are you up to? I was worried when I saw the notification on my phone” she said worriedly as she walked towards the pavilion and was surprised when she saw lots of flowers with fairy lights all around 

“Rein, all this time I know you are the one for me. And as I’ve said, I cannot see my future without you in it. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” said Taisuke as he knelt down at Rein and opened a little box with a diamond ring in it 

“Geez Taipi. Ye…yes. Of course I’ll marry you!” said Rein as tears came down her eyes. Taisuke immediately put the ring at her ring finger and hugged her tightly. He then placed a passionate kiss at her lips 

“I love you.” 

“I love you too.”
