Seulgi was staring at the picture in her hand. It's a picture with the five of them. They were having a picnic to celebrate their first successful assignment. Seulgi returns the picture to its place and heads out to visit her friend.

"Seulgi unnie, where are you going?"

"I'm gonna visit Wendy." Hyejin nodded and the older girl left. Hyejin knew it was hard losing a friend. She never experienced it, but it must be hard on her. She sighed and headed out, hoping to distract her mind. She decided to visit a cafe and order a strawberry shortcake and a banana pudding cake, fulfilling her craving for sweets. She just sits in the cafe, waiting for time to pass. She couldn’t help but remember the brown-haired girl. She decides to text the girl but realizes she forgets to bring her phone.

God how can I forget my phone. She thought and let out a heavy sigh. She’s back inside her mind until she hears something.

“Oh! Hyejin, right?” Hyejin looks at the source and sees a blonde girl approaching her.

“Yeah, uh, who are you?”

“Oh right. My name is Taeyeon. Irene talks a lot about you. You’re on your own?” Hyejin nodded.

“I’m Hyejin.” She offered a hand and Taeyeon shook it.

“Is this seat empty?” Hyejin nodded and Taeyeon sat across Hyejin while ordering a granola and fruit parfait.

“So, anything on your mind?” Hyejin is a bit taken aback by her words. They literally just met, it felt like she’s trying to pry some information from her. She shook her head and continued eating her cheesecake. “I must have looked suspicious, huh? Sorry ‘bout that, didn’t mean to scare you. Actually, Hani assigned me on a night patrol and you’re my partner, so I just wanted to know you better before tonight's patrol.” She smiled and scooped another spoonful of parfait, stuffing it into .

“Oh so that’s why. Well, nothing, really, I mean, I’m just a bit sleepy for the lack of sleep, but I’ll be fine. I’ll make sure to drink some coffee before the night patrol.” Hyejin is just making up excuses, hoping the other girl would leave immediately. She just needed some time on her own, just to clear her thoughts, just for...wait a minute

“Wait, did you just say I’m your partner tonight?” Welp, too much sugar is bad, isn’t it? Hyejin's face reddens when she realizes her words.

“Well, I already have a girlfriend if you’re trying to flirt with me, and yes, I’m your partner for tonight.” She winks, making Hyejin's face red as tomato.

“. Sorry, I think the sugar is clouding my thoughts.” Taeyeon chuckles.

“Alright, I’ll see you tonight. I’m sure Hani will drop the details later. Here, my number.” Taeyeon writes her number on a paper and hands it to Hyejin. “Text me later, okay?” She got up and paid before saying her goodbye to Hyejin and left. Hyejin couldn’t help but find the woman interesting.

She’s strong. I can feel her defensive aura from my seat. She’s fully aware of her surroundings. Maybe I can ask her to teach me too. She thought as she wolfed down on her food. She asked for the bill and the waitress looked confused.

“I’m sorry but someone already paid for it. It was the girl sitting across you.”

Ah...that must be Taeyeon. She then thanked the waitress and left. She takes a walk around the town, just refreshing her mind. During her walk, she couldn’t help but wonder what actually happened to Irene’s friend, Yeri. She said that she’s been kidnapped, but with all the hunters, how could that happen? Shouldn’t they be on their guards? Is she even alive? Why the hell would they want her? Hyejin can only sigh, knowing she won’t get any answer. After another hour, she bumped into someone familiar.

“Yah! Hyejin-ah! What’re you doing out here?” Hyejin looked at the purple-haired girl.

“Hi Byul unnie, I’m just strolling around the area.”

“Hani told me you’re gonna patrol tonight. Stay safe, okay?” Byul patted the younger girl's shoulder and smiled. Well, the last thing they needed was a dying hunter, so she nodded. “Alright, see you!” Byul walks past her and disappears from Hyejin's sight. She continues her walk, but this time, she’s heading home.

“Hyejin! You’re finally home! I’ve been trying to contact you but you didn’t bring your phone. Hani said-”

“I’m assigned on a night patrol, right?” Irene stares at her blankly.

“How did-”

“I met Taeyeon, she said she’ll be my partner for tonight, so, yeah.”

“Alright. You should rest a bit before heading out. Don’t forget to eat, okay?”

“Alright.” Hyejin looked around. “Where’s Seulgi unnie?”

“Ah, she’s on her way back. She’s meeting up with her old friend, she’ll be back soon.” Hyejin nodded and she headed to the dining table and saw what Irene cooked for them.

“Whoa kimbap! Thanks unnie!” She said before slowly munching her food. Irene can only laugh when she sees Hyejin cheeks are stuffed like hamster

// (time skip since there’s nothing to show anyway other than Hyejin lazing around XD) //

“Taeyeon, I felt like you gave off some intimidating vibes, how did you do that?”

“Practice, I guess? But it’s kinda natural too, so it’s hard to explain. Being fully aware of your surroundings is extremely important, but don’t show it too much or your enemies will hesitate to attack or attack in groups, though it’s really rare for them to attack in groups.”

“I know, but how did you-”

“Shh, something’s coming.” Hyejin immediately alerted by her warning and put up her defense. She looked around but saw nothing. Taeyeon on the other hand, looks so laidback, it’s as if she’s vulnerable. Hyejin thought she’s just joking so she put away her gun.

“Unnie you shouldn’t joke at times like this.” Hyejin let out a loud sigh and Taeyeon didn’t respond to her words.

“Well, it’s gone now. Oh, and, you shouldn’t be alerted when I said that. Pretend we didn’t notice it’s presence and trust me, it’s going to attack you hastily.”

Oh so that’s why she’s so laid back.

The two continued patrolling around Daegu and couldn’t find anything. Nothing shows up, but at least they’re safe.

“We should head back now. There’s nothing around the area, we’ve checked it twice.” Hyejin nodded and the two headed to Taeyeon’s car. Taeyeon drove the younger girl first before heading to her house.

// Next Day //

“God I slept like a log.” Hyejin said as she stretched out her body, trying to relax her muscle.

“Hyejin!” Seulgi slam opened the door, startling the younger girl. “An emergency meeting is being held, please get ready!” Seulgi immediately leaves her room and Hyejin can only wonder what makes her older sister in such a rush. Hyejin lazily got up and readied herself before heading downstairs and eating. The three of them then headed to the Headquarters.

Hani’s standing in front of everyone, making an important announcement.

“We manage to capture a vampire. We’ve managed to fish out some information from her. Turns out not all vampires can turn humans into vampires. Only some who possess the ability to do so, and by injecting their blood into human veins.” Hani said to everyone and they just nodded, trying to process the information.

“We also find out the hierarchy structure in the vampire bloodline. Turns out they have a leader, the ruler of them all. They address him as King. Only the royal lineage possess the ability to turn humans into vampires. They also could bestow the power into normal vampires, but it’s rarely done.” Amber added.

“The one we captured didn’t know about the king's name, location, and bloodlines, but these information is quite helpful I think, knowing only certain vampires can turn humans into vampires.”

“But we got bad news too. Some vampires are evolving. They gain power in which they’re not supposed to possess. We found some reports about vampires possessing telekinetic power and one could breathe fire. It’s gotten worse if we don’t put an end to this.”

“Wait, Hani, Amber, I didn’t mean to be rude, but, why would this vampire share this much information with us? Did she join our side? But that shouldn’t be possible, right? Haha…” His words struck everyone and Hani knew the question would come up. She stares at the floor and returns her focus to the crowds.

“It’s...the information will be disclosed, we will tell you when the time is right.” Everyone nodded. They trusted Hani, they knew she had a reason and none questioned her decision. She then decided to tell her plan.

“With all this information, we decided to form a search party and look for this ‘king’ whereabouts. I only form a few search parties, the rest will continue on patrol.” She then announced each name on the party and afterwards, she dismissed the meeting.

“Irene, Seulgi, can I talk to you two for a sec? Please call Sooyoung too.” The two nodded and called Sooyoung.

“I have a date soon so please make it quick.” Joy stated, hoping it’s something important. Hani didn’t say a word. She just gestured to them to follow her. They did but felt nervous. Joy whispered to Seulgi.

“Seul, did we do something wrong?”

“I'm not sure.” Hani keeps on walking until they finally arrive in front of her basement.

“You three should...go inside.” Hani moves from the front door, telling them to go inside. Irene swallowed heavily and went inside. She scans the room and sees a girl sitting in the corner playing with a phone. Her eyes widened and she dropped on her knees.

“Irene!” Seulgi ran towards her to give some support but was shocked at the sight too. Sooyoung gasped at the sight. Her brain couldn’t comprehend with what’s in front of her eyes. She couldn’t help but let a single tear escape her eyes.

“Yeri?”

The girl looked at them and smiled. It’s Yeri. Then they notice something. Fangs. Nails. Red eyes. The girl is a vampire, but why does she resemble Yeri so much?

“Hi.” She gives a wry smile.

“So, you’re the informant?” Yeri nodded slightly.

“Are you...really Yeri?” Yeri nodded again.

“Yes, it’s me.” Seulgi didn’t say anything and she immediately ran towards the younger girl, capturing her in her arms. Seulgi couldn’t hold back her tears and started crying. Irene and Joy follow too. They never expected to see the girl in this situation.

“I miss you all too, but I won't cry.”

“What happened?”

“I’ll tell you later! Where’s Wendy?”

“...”

“...”

“What? Is she on a mission or something?”

“Listen, Wendy...she’s gone…Our last mission cost her life…” Yeri eyes widened. She stared at the floor and looked so sad, but she didn’t cry.

“I...see…”

“She told me that she loves you. I hope she could deliver it herself…” Yeri nodded and caressed Irene’s cheek.

“Thank you for delivering her message. I just wished we realized it sooner. Maybe we’re a thing, you know.” She said while letting out a small laugh. The others couldn’t help but feel cheerful too, her cheerfulness is contagious after all. “Take me to her grave later, okay?” Seulgi nodded.

“So, I’m on my own?”

“Yeah, maybe you can spend some time with Taeyeon again? It’s a good chance to know each other, you know.” Taeyeon approached her and put her arms around Hyejin’s shoulder.

“Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of your little sis. Come on Hyej, we should visit that cafe again!” Taeyeon pointed to the door and started dragging her. Once they’re out, Irene and Seulgi return to the basement to catch up with their long lost friend.

“Wow, even Joy canceled her date with Sungjae for me! Admit that you missed me idiot.”

“Shut up! How did that tiny body hold such enormous energy anyway.” Joy scoffed.

“Yeri, what happened these past two years? How come you’re alive?”

“Long story short, I killed the vampire that kidnapped me. He wanted me to be his bride! Can you believe that! I wanted to escape but I was waiting for the right time. It took a year and a half for him to finally put his trust in me. He let me roam free and during those times, I would prepare my escape plan. Before I escape, I make sure to kill him, so he won’t be searching for me.” Irene holds Yeri’s hand.

“I’m sorry, we couldn’t find you and I’m sorry for giving up.” Irene almost tears up saying that and Yeri tries to cheer the older girl.

“Don’t be sorry unnie! I’m fine now, so please, don’t blame yourself. Ahhh I wanted to talk to you because I wanted to have fun! Let’s have some fun! Stop crying unnie.” They decided to have fun. Hani let them stay in her basement (she refuses to go up, avoiding the sunlight) and they played, danced, talked, all day until night. As promised, once the sun’s set, the four of them headed to the cemetery, visiting her old friend.

“Hi Wendy. It’s been a while.” Yeri caress the tombstone. “I wished I could see your face for one last time and touch you and kiss you. I should’ve made a move, huh? I shouldn’t hesitate to ask you out back then. I’m sorry.” They let Yeri have her time with Wendy. Joy approached the younger girl and caressed her back, hoping she could comfort her.

“I really wished you’re here. We could talk about your family, or my family, having a group reunion, teasing Irene and Seulgi unnie like most of the time. To be honest, I missed how Joy always bragged about Sungjae, I just missed us so much that everyday, I dream of escaping and finding you girls again. I’m sorry I took so long. If only I know you’re here, I would’ve visited you everyday. I, I…I love you too, Wendy.” Her voice cracked. She couldn’t take it anymore. She let tears stream down her face, unable to contain her overwhelming emotions. The others couldn’t contain their sadness and let their emotions overflow. It was hard to see the cheerful and happy Yeri like this.

Yeri stood up and bowed towards the three, making them confused.

“Thank you, I’m really happy. I, uh, have one last wish, but promised we will grant it.” Yeri said cheerfully. The others nodded.

“I promised.”

“No matter what?”

“No matter what.”

“Good. I want you to kill me.”
