He placed the beautiful white roses beside the grave as he stood in silence in front of an elaborate marbled gravestone.  He closed his eyes for a moment's peace.  The only sound he heard was of birds chirping, echoing across the sky.  

The six men in suits stood nearby, guarding him in silence.  They lowered their heads as he spoke to his loved one.

He apologised.  Asked for forgiveness.  And cried.

He reached a hand out to touch the gravestone as he said his farewell.  The ring on his finger shimmered under the bright sun.

"Goodbye," he said.
